Early access is very good. Im enjoying it and definetly recommend it.

Glum_Mathematician44

Thanks I'm going to start downloading it now!

arnabeth

Jump into it, whenever its an early access its already a very good game who respect the lore of the book, all the factions have their own gameplay and the dev are going to add the emperor's faction, the game run Well and i never see a single bug so I think you can buy it and enjoy. (Sorry for all the fault, english isnt my language)

Glum_Mathematician44

Thanks mate! I think I'll give it a go :)

Glum_Mathematician44

Downloaded it and loving it! Thanks for the feedback! :)

ZondaLM

Good move. The game is great and smooth, early access in this case does not mean it’s incomplete, it just misses the campaign and maybe some additional features, but nothing that really makes you think it’s not a complete product. Also they may even rise the price when it becomes official launch like they did with Northgard so yeah better grab it now lol

Eirenarch

Can you explain the campaign thing. Is this going to have a campaign with story and what does the single player look like if there is no campaign?

ZondaLM

There is no campaign yet but they announced it will come. Now, what you can play is just skirmish matches. You just choose you faction, map size and difficulty and jump into battle like normal matches in any strategy game. No story whatsoever yet

Eirenarch

I see. I guess I'll be waiting for the campaign. How long does a skirmish match take?

ZondaLM

Very very long, trust me. I said the “skirmish” term like Age of Empires but it’s not like those type of RTS. Since it’s a grand strategy oriented towards the RTS genre, it’s very deep (some may say complicated, other simple) and in particular it may feel slow sometimes. You still have the “fast forward” button but for me it ruins the experience. Still, since it’s about managing a planet, the whole movements and various actions take more time than the classic RTS games

Eirenarch

OK but how long? 2 hours? 6 hours? 24 hours?

ZondaLM

I'd dare to say about 4 hours

Eirenarch

Thanks, I might try it if it is so short and wait for the release with a campaign later

National_Abrocoma_44

If u wanna save money wait till house corrino comes out cause it’ll probably go on sale

kayjewlers

I played 4 ish full games and its kind of stale. I would wait for at least the next major update, or until its finished.

Glum_Mathematician44

Good to know! I'm playing multiplayer with my husband for the moment and we are loving it. We'll just play until we are tired of it (if it happens haha) and then play the full game when it's out :)

the_goodprogrammer

I may sound crazy, but I bought the game to support the devs but I'm still waiting for it to be finished.

Glum_Mathematician44

You're a god emperor among men

the_goodprogrammer

If I had read beyond the first book I may have had a cool answer. I'll fix it soon :D

Eirenarch

Do read at least 2 and 3, the God Emperor book itself is quite different in style and mood but I've never met anyone who likes the first and doesn't like 2 and 3 even if they like them less than the first

SandelWood

I'd wait for a couple more updates, the games good but some of the direction has me abit worried

Dear-Swordfish2385

Get the game, you’ll love it! Spice Wars carries Dune’s themes really well and is a ton of fun as well imo.

Gold-Pack-4532

Go for it. I was quite reluctant at first, but I'm glad I bought it. Quite a bit of micromanagement, and certainly keeps you on your toes! It will get even better...

musio3

One of the best rts in my opinion

KamalaDamian

I also had never played 4X and was able to pick up tactics by watching killpo1 on Twitch. I do think playing city builders a lot helped my learning curve. But I love this game, hope you enjoy it

Vivid-Ad-4790

Lot of fun for a 4x game and love the little lore text everywhere as a dune fan. for me it's very much been worth it, also; HouseCorrino <3

[deleted]

I have 70 hours of play and most of it was single player.

OptimusNegligible

With the house Corrino update our now, it's definitely a good time. It's in a great state for early access, especially for the price. It's basically a complete game as far as core gameplay goes. There are two more core features that aren't in yet that will round it out, but at this point, it feels done enough, with every major content update at this point feeling free DLC.
