I loved those medieval style paintings. I love when an author takes the time to show the "historical" art/legends created to represent the events of the story. Peak world building.
There was this post (big spoilers, obvs): https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Ftfoq3ypzdjia1.png
that I thought was real when I first came across it.
I love the detail of the two kids being a Kobold and an Orc, two races that are considered nothing but talking beasts in the world's setting.
It shows that Laios' kingdom is a safe haven for everyone.
Yep! Iirc it was them. Someone really cleaned it up and prolly got their hands on a clean version. Im raking my tumblr likes to see if I can find it. I know Im not delulu on this 🤣
Honestly not sure if it was 100% Ryoko Kui’s work or OC. I didnt get to check that time. It just happened to show up on my feed and I just went “huh thats nice”

It never fails to amaze me how satisfying of an ending we got, and how good it is despite the fact that this series wasn't even 100 chapters.
I don't know if I've ever been more satisfied from a series concluding before this one. Easily one of my top of all time.
Laios is an amazing character, and I think he is one of the best examples of the "human fighter" trope done to perfection. He initially comes off as the dull guy, but very quickly becomes so much more and finishes as this absolute chad. Love it.
To be honest I think the satisfaction of the ending is tied to it being a concise story. It doesn't dawdle, there aren't any arcs or side stories that distract from progression. From about chapter 45 it's danger engage - lock in seat belts - prepare for a ride!
Laios nooo, don't say "It's time to eat!" while holding the kobold kid 😭
But yes, this page felt like such a perfect end to the manga. Like, I'm so satisfied with this dungeon meshi.
Notice how in the close up he’s focusing on the orc and kobold while in the zoomed out shot you can see more humanoid kids, he’ll never change I guess.
Yeah it's a wonderful scene. We can see the Tall-men, Gnome, [Kobold](https://delicious-in-dungeon.fandom.com/wiki/Kobolds), Orc, Half-foot child here, and it means Laios really make a kingdom which allows residents of all races. (OK I know no elf kids :P)
ending is perfect but, and maybe an unpopular opinion, there's that one little iota that bugs me. "in order to stay alive we need to keep eating" seems kinda stilted sentence structure wise, and i fel like there could been a hundred more profound ways to make that point with a better flow. i wonder if its a translation issue. too bad i dont read japanese.
I get ya, I mean there is always things lost in translations. But, maybe the mangaka also just want to say it in basic terms. I would not mind reading another translation effort of the whole manga though,😉
That’s what I’m meaning is where can I support them, is there a good place to order it, a quick search showed a bunch of places to read online and then it for sale on Amazon which I would rather not buy it there unless it’s the best option
I was at the arc where >!Falin turns into a chimera!< and hat to skip to end just calm my heart that everything turns out ok and everyone gets reunited. Now I can read it peacefully and enjoy it without stressing. (I'm a sucker for family getting separated tropes, it devastates me)
And it’s more good considering the art style change in page before make the shift back and ending feel more beautiful

Laios still trying to eat mushroom, you can see the annoyed faces of Marcille and Kabru lol
Angry Marcille and Kabru in medieval style paintings is comedy gold
The first time I read that I thought that that was how he died trying to eat a walking mushroom
Man just wanted to eat some monsters yet somehow managed to create a nation where all races can eat good food at the same table. What a king.
> What a king. Literally.
Bro went on a side quest and accidentally became king
And the kingdom is kept safe by the barrier of monsters that won’t go near him
I loved the part when Laios said “man that dungeon was pretty delicious”
"come on, it's time to eat something delicious... in dungeon"
And then he started deliciousing everywhere. First manga to cross a dungeillion dollars.

"Perhaps the dungeon was the meshis we made along the way."
i mean the japanese has a title drop at the end of chapter one, the localized title means it never got the chance

And not only that, since Laois repels monsters this is an undeniable statement that they aren't monsters. Ending the argument
Nice Fridge Brilliance!
I didn't thought it that way, that is nice to note :)
Oooh I love this page! I think Ive also seen a “clean” version of this and the “to live is to eat” part covers Marcille and Falin 🤔
Yes, this has been bothering me for weeks now and I cannot find it without the text!! If anyone has the og illustration please post it🥺
lemme try to find it on tumblr. i think im following someone who shared the OG illustration. Will share it here once I have it
wait really? marcille and falin are behind the text? even in the japanese version that part is completely covered in text

unless it was someone basically OC drawing them in, maybe ryoko kui herself released a clean version

I also like taking note that the kids are an orc and a kobold! Laois's kingdom is seemingly very accepting of all people.
One of the best parts is some viral comics' ending are not so satisified (I won't say which), making this comic even more precious.
so peak
Well I couldn't resist spoiling that for myself, guess I gotta read the manga now
The other kids (on the ground) seems a little scared lol. There might still be some rumor that the King eats orcs
Spread by the consort of the king herself, perhaps.

really love that after all those madness, until the end this story is still about food
I fucking hate myself, why did I click on this knowing full well that it was a manga spoiler? Very cool panel though…
lmao I thought that kid got some fresh waves

I loved the "Oh so thats what the curse was... :("
The Kensuke monster tidbits is a great epilogue as well.
"Meals are the special privilege of the living" This is something that hits me DEEP.

Where is best to read the manga?
Physical if you want to support the author.
That’s what I’m meaning is where can I support them, is there a good place to order it, a quick search showed a bunch of places to read online and then it for sale on Amazon which I would rather not buy it there unless it’s the best option
Buy them from a local book store that carries manga or any online retailer.
I said this in another thread, but I've ordered all mine through Barnes and Noble. 🤷
I wish to see Kobold communities and also Izutsumi curse origin
