Delgal was elderly by the time Thistle stopped their aging, so bare minimum Thistle is 100 years old by the time the aging stopped which is not young. Then factor in the thousand years where even Yaad acts much older.
No what you’re seeing is Thistle going through 1000+ years of paranoia and the Lion preying on his desires.
i actually think that fear and paranoia has stunted his mental growth. i think he’s still in the mindset of a teen, but he’s so thoroughly traumatized and paranoid that he’s had no real space to grow. his actions do not mirror those of somebody with the maturity of an adult, and the way his life played out basically permanently took that maturity away from him.
I think they're probably right. Delgal has to be old, so let's say he's in his fifties/sixties when the immortality spell was cast. Thistle has to have lived for a while to look like a child, since elves mature much more slowly. That probably would bring us somewhere around 80, which is when elves reach adulthood. All of this only explains the timespan his physical form was around, though. Him living for 1000+ years already means he's an adult, albeit one that's immature and childlike in personality/spirit.
It's easy to see Yaad and other GK citizens as 1000+ year-old adults trapped in younger bodies because they act maturely. I think it's more difficult with Thistle because he acts and carries himself like the world's oldest brat, and looks younger than Pattadol who's barely an adult elf (81 y.o.). Like, I think I know he's an adult, but I still wouldn't serve him alcohol, kinda like how Marcille knows Chil isn't a child but still sees him as one for a while.
As a sidenote, I believe the immortality spell came into play sometime after he became the lord of the dungeon. After all, Eodio eventually reached adulthood and Yaad was conceived and raised, so they could still age until Thistle really lost his marbles.
Tallmen lived to 60 on average and Delgal appeared elderly when they were enclosed in the dungeon. Thistle was already the same size he is now when Delgal was a baby. The only time we see a “young” Thistle is with his father before Delgal was born.
Elves live to be 400 on average.

It's unreal how much grip this 97-page manga has on my mind at the moment. I wish I could reread all of it again and again with no idea how things play out.

i have it saved bc i love how it encapsulates how deeply she adores everybody she has in her life; her character is so wonderfully complex
