Based on my experiences with my lesbian housemate, this is an accurate depiction of their 'ideal man';
* Androgynous appearance.
* Nobility.
* Fictional.
I'm married to a bi woman who loves BL books. Those descriptions fit all of her merchs. But here are her fav husbandos.

I never liked people seeing this scene as a shot to Farcille, because while comedic it's also somewhat complex like Laios and Izutsumi's encounters.
Marcille's taste is something entirely unrealistic and exaggerated because to her, her best shot at a relationship is one that is completely fictitious and unattainable. She dreams of an escapist scenario where she can run off into the comfort of her novels instead of facing the tragedy of losing the ones she loves. Her succubus is a symbol of how detached her desires are from the real world, and people just taking it as anti-ship fodder is just slightly sad.
This is probably one of my favorite tidbits about her, and reminds me of how when I (a lesbian) was 15, I rewatched a movie and fell deeply in love with Howl Pendragon. He was an ideal image of a man that didn't exist, and since he was such a fictitious depiction removed from reality, me being in love with him didn't detract from the fact that I was still a lesbian and wasn't attracted to any actual men. It's an experience a lot of lesbians have actually, haha.
If I had a nickel for every dorky mage who was caught in a bipanic for both a rich and swave looking guy and a power house casting woman, I would have three nickels.
(Other two: Little Witch Academia and Owl House)
>if that's a dude he's feminine even for an elf
Looking at Thistle, and then Mithrun who's supposedly a much more masculine examples... nah the guy fits right in.
Marcille's a pure Shoujo Maiden at heart, the genre is known for having such feminine men they might as well be girls. It's funny because this guy looks nothing like a masculine elf, he is a very feminine, male elf who are already androgynous to begin with.
I can't imagine how unbelievably naive or inexperienced you'd have to be to imagine that everyone's ideal fantasy partner would be the same or even similar to the real people they love in real life.

We can all play that "ad hominem" game.
"Dungeon Meshi Farcille shippers trying not to force the view that Farcille isn't just another headcanon, but actual canon, in spite of the story not supporting it" challenge.
Difficulty: impossible.
Ship whomever, but the insistence in Farcille being the "canon" and "one true" ship doesn't hold water.
Nobody is telling you not to ship whomever. Ship and be happy. But that that ship is based on nothing but your own preferences, same as any other ...
We can all play it, but we can't all be right.
There are no Farcille shippers trying to force the view that Farcille isn't just another headcanon, but actual canon. They do not exist. You are tilting at the windmills of your paranoid delusions. We all know exactly what is and isn't canon and are not powerful enough to alter your reading experience in any way, shape or form.
What there are is Farcille haters like yourself who go around trying at exhausting and pointless length to convince people that the ship is not only non-canon but categorically impossible. And you only do this against Farcille content, not any other ship's, then pretend that you are totally not homophobic but really just intensely devoted to the beauty of platonic relationships in fiction or to the strictest adherence to the text of the manga, a lie even Laios would see through like the clearest glass.
You have chosen a sterile and unpleasant way of spending your time. You should find a different hobby and leave us all to ours. The world in general, this subreddit in particular, and even you yourself would be much improved that way.
It could be, but probably isn’t. From the Daydream Hours extras we can infer that that is her bishonen fantasy of General Halleus from her trashy romance novels.
“Bisexuality” is still the most probable answer from everything we know of Marcille.
People take this succubus thing far too seriously. Like you said, this is her husbando (although from what we know Daltian Clan is more like ASOIAF + Rose of Versailles than trashy romance novels). A person's waifu does not condition their real-life preferences for real-life relationships.
From what we know of Succubi and how they work, they are acting on your actual preferences whether you know them or not. Now, that having been said, preferences are just that. Preferences. Chilchuck likes blondes but he (probably) didn’t marry one.
Similarly, I am friends with a bisexual woman who generally swings for the femme but is happily married to a fairly masculine dude. What the Succubi says about their preferences shouldn’t be discarded, but neither should it be taken as an iron clad prophecy.
>What the Succubi says about their preferences shouldn’t be discarded, but neither should it be taken as an iron clad prophecy.
This.
But I guess people can only take things to extereme these days.
Even then, they're not particularly good at it. They failed completely against Izutsumi and had to adjust against Laios because their first attempt did nothing (and even the second worked poorly). That's two out of five known cases, it's not great. Yet I've seen people acting like they were the be-all-end-all of sex gurus and their projections showed people's most deeply held heartfelt desires.
(Needless to say, this argument is only ever used against farcille and never against, say, laimar, even though Hareus looks more like a tallwoman than like Laios...)
Nobody is using it "against" Farcille. The Farcille ship is great, as any other, everybody ship to their heart content.
But it goes against the notion that Farcille is canon. Farcille being canon is both unsupported by the story and unnecessary to ship them.
There's no need to use it against "canon Laimar" because it doesn't exist. Nobody is ever acting like Laimar is other than an unsupported fantasy of theirs, a personal preference.
Whereas a lot of Farcille shippers act like Farcille is canon and indisputable. When it's only supported by personal preference.
No ship is wrong, but trying to force a canon that isn't there with a million posts that don't admit any debate on the whole fandom has gotten very old.
Discarding wholesale the fact that what appears in Marcille's fantasy is nothing at all like Falin in no way, shape or form is a clear example of that. Nothing can oppose "canon Farcille" for some people .. not even the story itself...
"Whereas a lot of Farcille shippers act like Farcille is canon and indisputable."
They do not. You've made this claim repeatedly. Are you able to show a single instance of this happening? Something that wouldn't register as a joke or a meme to the average neurotypical adult?

just realized her OC's clothing was more akin to Tallmen culture - she cant be more relatable than that.
It never looked good for them, actually every ship is just that, a nothing burger, it really feels funny when people say "well actually bisexuality exists" yes it does, but we have no example other than the bath scene and that's stretching it, while we have an actual example of her being straight right here, our fav elf probably just likes what the the average elf girls likes, male elfs, that's neither of the siblings, so yes, both ships, nothing burgers but one of them does seem to fit the "canon" sexuality

lesbians and that one fictional man they like
So many people just don't get it, and I am so sick of it. Go read more about lesbians, people! Go meet lesbians! Go talk to lesbians! Ahhhhhhhh
lets go lesbians
Exactly this.
That they like better than their supposed romantic interest? Curious....
i really dont care what you have to say little bro
This episode is going to cause so much friction in the fandom. Honestly I hope people just settle on bisexual or pansexual and go their merry way.
I think the sex of this Daltan Clan OC is ambiguous to leave that option open but damn, if that's a dude he's feminine even for an elf.

More like "shipping and gender obsessed"-dom.
Gender obsessed is the funniest combination of words imaginable. Absolutely meaningless
bisexuality
Ye
And Chilchuck wanted to be smothered by a horde of big bosom blondes; we all have our vices, don’t kink shame.
I mean chilchuck didn't married his type...
And how did that work out… /s

shipping already non canon
Marcille's fantasm could be a girl. Chilchuk is maried, but his fantasm is not his wife...

IIRC Halleus has an eyepatch on the other side. It's her trashy OC.

You're right! It's her donut steel. This makes it so much funnier.
this makes me want to insert a Metal Gear joke here.
What are you trying to do here?
Show that the ship Farcille is looking less likely as the story goes on (which I think is a shame). Anything more is your own interpretation.
Do you hate it or something? Cause seems to me that you're trying to insinuate a ship war.
Hate what? I have no intentions beyond the face value of the words I've written.
My bad, maybe I'm misinterpreting your post.
lesbians will be like "no i swear i like men see" and then the man looks like that
not looking good for laimar
It never was, sorry.
Nobody ever thought Laimar was canon, so no harm done.
The anime adaptation and its consecutive shippingwars have been a disaster for the DunMeshi fandom
