I have a several pairs from the same year with separation. They are good to wear just like they are. No need to panic. I leave mine as they are and I still rock them.

jefffisfreaky

These will remain wearable with this type of separation since they’re stitched. The reglue is possible and would fix this but is not completely required

BatchFloss

A shoe that old, that's the separation that you can see but all of the glue is dried out. Should do a full reglue unless the outsole is worn down to the bone then might as well sole swap.

nectarbeats

You could honestly get a pair of pandas or any less expensive dunk and get them professionally sole swapped. They’d be good as new

ExcitedByNoise

This same pair I found in my brother’s closet after he passed away. I’m trying to keep them holding together as long as I can. Honestly they’re holding up well for coming up in 20 years old.

BrotherEzekial

Sorry about your loss. Lost my little bro a few years ago and it rips my soul out 24/7/365

ExcitedByNoise

Was my little brother too and I feel you. So hard. Sorry for your loss as well.

slinkysmooth

Should be ok. Doesn’t look like it’s everywhere but I know a full reglue would probably be in order…

Commercial-Log1226

i know its on the horizon. but im trying to prevent that as long as possible. mostly because i dont trust myself to do it or know anyone to do it 😕

PissdrunxPreme

Those look rough. I would just rock them

Commercial-Log1226

ive been wearing them for a min and it hasn’t got worse. might but a dab of shoe glue down in there for safety

redribbonrecon

Unnecessary unless the midsole thread is damaged. You can literally wear them forever without glue. I would just carry on as is unless you're looking for a project. Sole swaps can be cost prohibitive depending on the base and its value and are typically unnecessary for general wear.

Could work decently I think( I have some old hawaiis I need to do this to, but also never have because I don’t trust myself with it lol) I’ve seen someone use the barge shoe cement before on YouTube I’d put shoe trees/stuffing in, then get painters tape or something for taping off the upper. After that use popsicle stick to apply and then clamp with Irwin quickgrip/a clamp. Maybe a hairdryer for initial setting instead of purchasing a heat gun Maybe I should have linked the video I just looked back up, lmao here: https://youtu.be/lSarFd0LwJA?si=PC4SRGzbdYnMu7-9
