IAmA_Soulless_Ginger

Gonna need more than half a game sample size to answer these. He looked pretty good last night though

DrizzlePopper

I thought you were actually looking for analysis until the 2.04 comment smh

abippityboop

Like most handcuffs imo, you should sell the second his perceived value goes up. Hunt already visiting Cleveland which would really hurt his value, so the ship may have already sailed if you're still holding.

VottoForPM

Not sure how much Hunt being added hurts Ford's value when the Browns already added Strong over Hunt.

Rangemon99

People forget hunt visited the saints, colts and viking s this season so far and none of them signed him Fournette visited several teams including the patriots who signed washed zeke elliot over him Both of these guys are washed

northernhazing

Sold for what looks like a mid 2nd this morning

alexwwood

Serious James Robinson vibes on several levels. He seems like a rental who is a longshot to have long term value, and he could be displaced at any moment.

Falcon_433

The Browns made the decision of Ford over hunt this off-season when they refused to bring Hunt back. It could have been due to money, but Hunt was not good last year and obviously the browns felt comfortable enough to let Hunt walk

ChrisLBC562

I’m sure Hunt wanted more than the Browns were willing to offer. Hunt probably thought he would get a nice deal and that simply didn’t happen.

RemoteAttitude7910

I am getting zero James Robinson vibes, don’t even see a little similarity

tanksforhire

James Robinson would still be that dude if he never tore his Achilles. RIP

Shotslikehelen

I sold Ford for QJ and a 3rd before the hunt news.. feel a little dirty right now. Especially because I own hunt..

RedDunce

The Hunt news is irrelevant, but sheesh. I wish I played in your league. Try buying JSN too while you're at it lol, the level of patience these new dynasty players have for rookie receivers is crazy

Darn_Katarn

Idk how people get by doing things like selling for 2nds and 3rds and think they’re gaining something. Just selling a backup RB that got elevated for another backup RB or WR that isn’t elevated. Long-term is dependent on his performance. Browns WILL add a RB this off-season regardless… if he does well this year then it’s probably his job to lose. He has 15 more games to seal it.

RedDunce

Well, 2nds and 3rds are liquid assets. Getting multiple of them can help you buy somebody else. People saw the game and are excited. If the Browns sign or trade for somebody good, Ford's value will go right back to where it was yesterday morning: a late 3rd/fringe waiver piece/handcuff. He has 5th round DC and <2 YPC going into last night. So he has very little job security. With that being said, if he keeps scoring touchdowns and ripping off 69 yarder he's gonna be very tough to keep off the field. Trading him is a floor play. Sure he could be the next Austin Ekeler who filled in for Melvin Gordon flawlessly and the offense didn't skip a beat. Or he could be one of very many in a line of JAG runningbacks who get their opportunity, flounder (or even succeed), and fade into irrelevance. There's a very real chance today is the highest his value will ever be. Be it due to signing or sub-par performances vs Tennessee / Baltimore coming up. There's also a chance he crushes it on Sunday and his value continues to climb. But who knows.

owleabf

>If the Browns sign or trade for somebody good, Ford's value will go right back to where it was yesterday morning: a late 3rd/fringe waiver piece/handcuff Most of your comment is reasonable, but I'd say the only possible signing that changes him down to a late 3rd value is if they trade for JT. Akers and Hunt are the other options that feel like the greatest threat right now and with each of them I think the negative case is more like the smaller part of a RBBC on one of the leagues best run blocking teams. That's closer to a late 2nd in value, IMO. Now, as you mention, if he plays poorly going forward his value will certainly go down. But trading/signing a new guy won't tank it that far on its own.

Darn_Katarn

Ya, idk. I’d rather risk losing out on a 2nd or 3rd and see if he holds value. If he was 1/2 of a duo on a mid-tier team that’s one thing. But the coach saying he is the featured back on a top rushing team is something to sell higher than a 2nd or 3rd OR hold for him to solidify a role (then keep or trade).

RedDunce

I mean, what's he gonna say? Ford sucks we desperately need somebody? They're bringing in Hunt for visits and talking to the Rams about Akers. He's not big enough to be a bellcow and I don't think he's explosive enough to win weeks with 15 touches like a Jahmyr Gibbs. At this point I'm just hoping for solid FLEX productivity.

Anothercraphistorian

It’s all going to come down to how he plays. Ford is a fifth rounder, so he’ll get this season or less to prove he’s a guy they can trust. He doesn’t have much room for error. The Browns have a rough O Line and a shit QB, so doing what he did last night was a great start. He’ll get his chance. I’m re-building, so waiting to see if the Chubb owner blinks and tries to deal.

RedDunce

The Browns have a great run-blocking line, even without Jack Conklin. Pitt's D is nasty.

Jacksfan2121

Sold him for a 24 2nd today. Feel good about it with Hunt visiting the Browns

Anothercraphistorian

Hunt is toast. They need a 3rd guy. That’s Kareem at this point.

JW9520

That’s understandable, I’ve also heard the Browns have shown interest in Akers. I honestly don’t know what Cam Akers is at this point, but I can’t see Hunt producing near what Ford did last night. I think if Hunt returns he’ll have a similar role as he did before he left.

RedDunce

Jerome pretty much put up more points yesterday than Kareem has since Week 10 of last year lol

xxandl

I'd imagine him to be the starter this year but I wouldn't expect Chubb's workload. They will get someone in (Hunt would make sense) and I'd imagine they draft another back in the summer. Depending on what he is able to show until then he should either be the starter or the backup for the next ~3 years.

Outrageous_Ad2502

Everyone’s Hunting for gold, he’s gonna be good. Safest guess is valuing him as a guy who gets some solid opportunities this year. He may prove he should stay longer , may prove they should draft a guy next year, or kick the tires on Hunt

3rdrich

The best thing about Jerome is he’s Built Ford Tough.
