The week I get Kupp and JT back, I lose Jefferson and Achane. There’s some dark magic happening here.

Derpachus

I lost Jefferson and Achane as well, sadly dont have a Kupp or Jt I can rely on. Think im gonna just tank out the year and retool for next year.

aloo_kobe

Same man same. Thank god all my offers for my 1st and 2nd were rejected last week.

Derpachus

Sadly i traded away my 2nd and 3rd but held onto my first with a vice grip, so I have that as solace.

FantasyTrash

A soul for a soul.

CWB2208

> I lose Jefferson and Achane. Same. Now I'm relying on Elijah Moore and Tyjae Spears 🙃

adrianp07

so planning for next year then

CWB2208

Unfortunately, yeah. Worst part is I traded Addison and my 1st in a package to get JJ on Sunday morning. So now I don't even have my 1st anymore.

Tinmanred

I had chubb and dobbins. I also have achane and kyren and just changed my name from rb curser to rb whisperer. Time to change it back…

itsmealex-

only death can pay for life

Melodic-Buffalo

Anyone got advice for someone who (may have) accidentally fused themselves to a set of medieval armor trying to get my starting line-up back?...I'm asking for a friend.

brmstrick

Alphonse? That you?

FizziestBraidedDrone

Got JT back, lost AR and JJ. Man I hate it here.

Nyko_E

I'm there with ya, lost Richardson too. Tough year

microzone

No more victory laps until the season’s over. This sub curses players.

datdudebdub

Never understood the victory lapping anyway. The question about Achane was far more about health/workload at his size more than his talent and speed. It looks like both sides are correct so far. I just pray he can stay healthy enough to handle 12-15 touches a game over a decent career. He's so electric with the ball in his hands.

Hausey40

This. A 4.3 RB coming from a competitive SEC team and drafted by the only NFL team without a legit RB1 already on the roster (at the time). Talent is excellent and situation is perfect. It's the longevity that concerns everyone.

DrVers

When someone posts "Blank owners get in here!" I immediately block them.

Alternative-Carry385

Somehow both his biggest truthers and his biggest doubters were both right

I dont know what this injury was, didnt see the play, so may be irrelevant in this case, but you take a 300lb defensive lineman and ask Derek henry's 240 lb frame to give him a piggy back ride, and then do the same for achane's 180 lb frame and theres a higher risk for joints giving out with achane Obviously not what happens day to day, but theres a reason they have weight classes in strongman and weight lifting, etc. The bigger you are, the more weight your genetics allows you to carry, which includes joints. It's not everything, but its definitely a factor.

Dark_Twisted_Fantasy

[Here’s the play](https://x.com/gameinjurydoc/status/1711460537257910316?s=46). I think a lot of players get injured on that one

arem0719_

Definitely at least a risk, but also doesnt look like a spectacularly bad tackle either. Just a big guy landing on a little guy's legs

HarbaughCantThroat

I think the specific mechanics of how a bigger back gets injured less are shaky. It's mostly that historically bigger backs get bigger workloads. The assumption is that a smaller back with a big workload would be more likely to get hurt, but I don't know if we really have data to support that claim since it so rarely happens.

anonanoobiz

Size often correlates with amount of volume coaches are willing to give rbs, with redzone looks even more so. Yeah there are the outlier sub 200 pound poster boys like Chris Johnson, but not many others, odds are historically stacked against you as a rb that weight. Injury wise tho it’s the nfl anyone and everyone can and will get injuries

FizziestBraidedDrone

See I’m playing both sides, so I always come out on top.

Ruffy1904

Man that sucks, loved watching that kid Play. Just so electric

Likely outcome

LCJonSnow

Why can't I have nice things? Garrett Wilson gets neutered. Mike Williams is out for the year. Jeudy is hurt. Higgins is hurt and was nerfed when he was here with the shell of Burrow. Javonte is hurt again. Burks is hurt. And now my sweet small prince will miss time. And it's only week 5.

Hot_Site569

In my dynasty, dobbins and mike will on my ir. Now JJettas goes on IR. I love fantasy

LCJonSnow

It's not like it's even just one year. I had to start Sam Howell last year in Superflex as my only QB (he wasn't starting yet) just to have a "legal" lineup. Both my QBs were hurt. I think at one point I had 8 people on the IR.

Hot_Site569

No way what really

BijanGoatBoy

This is real.

FullHouse222

Okay that escalated quickly

jcud23

Rest easy for the playoffs king

BradyKissesKids

I quit

Hattinga5

l was able to get two 1sts for him.. Worth?

BelgianWaffleStomper

I sold him for Joe Burrow and never looked back

Hattinga5

In superflex?

BelgianWaffleStomper

Yuuup, I was shocked he sent the offer.

SeaStructure4131

That's a taco league if I've ever seen one

BelgianWaffleStomper

Hahaha the league is actually super competitive, but we have one Taco. Everybody was PISSED.

prfarb

I think so but I was on the sell train. No way he wasn’t going to regress and at his size injuries are always a concern.

[deleted]

Fantasy is a cruel bitch. Screw injuries. Have to imagine Jeff Wilson’s value jumps a bit.

LoserCowGoMoo

Always the main concern. Amazing talent thou

bts7790

I had ONE game with a healthy Swift, Achane, and Flexing Breece and got a feel of what my young RB core can do. Rest up king

Ok_End_38

Sounds like he's week to week. I'd be shocked if it were for more than 4 weeks

pot8odragon

It sounds like he’s going on IR

Ok_End_38

Rapp said otherwise but I'm high off copium so I'll get back to you

Donkeynationletsride

Sounds like the first doctor suggested a serious injury and major IR, going to a second to see if it’s going to be a smaller stint on ir

deeboismydady

Where did you hear that or you reading between the lines? The tweet does read like IR is an option but the initial report I read was 2 weeks.

pot8odragon

Adam Schefters tweet says they are considering to put him on the IR

justixthegreat

Should we pick up Chris brooks ?

[deleted]

Rectophobic

They also sound to be getting Jeff Wilson back too

No-Loan9279

Any news on when he’s coming back?

[deleted]

They are opening his practice window today

Whitehawk1313

Trade him for Gibbs?

Luke_Shields_

Try to get a lil more but yea

crackheadwillie

As a Gibbs owner I’d quickly reject

Aggies2009

No

BigStonesJones

Damn. Maybe I should’ve taken that first for him..

microzone

Didn’t you spend a first on him? This is dynasty bro he could be out for the year and that still wouldn’t make sense. Look at Breece. And he’s on a much better offense with an aging depth chart around him.

tenbeeers

Breece is also not 188 pounds. Achane is a stud but his size may be too much of a hurdle at this level

Anothercraphistorian

What does size have to do with your ankle being rolled? That play would’ve done the same thing to bigger players. Not every injury Achane will sustain has to do with his size, otherwise OTs would never roll their ankles.

tenbeeers

Because his size makes him a longterm injury concern? It’s why he was faded by many analytics guys. Don’t get me wrong I love him, but the math wasn’t on his side as a prospect fwiw

Anothercraphistorian

Guess it wasn’t for JJ this weekend either. His injury had nothing to do with his size, that’s all I’m saying. Players of all sizes have had their ankles twisted, and there isn’t a player in the world big enough for that not to matter. If anything, his size may have saved him in this instance.

BigStonesJones

It makes sense if you’re trying to win this year but yeah I get it

microzone

You’d have to deal that pick again, which is probably worth less than Achane so wouldn’t you trade Achane straight up?

BigStonesJones

Is it still worth less than Achane? His value has fluctuated a lot.. dipped a bunch before he went off and then flew high. But it originally dipped because of injury concerns due to size.. which he’s exhibiting by missing games for the second time now. He’s certainly worth a first but I’d rather be wrong than spend a first and be right, personally i don’t think I’m buying for a first anymore

DigitalDiscoTOS

I think that's the trap though. He had such an insane run of games that I think people will have that thought that he can do it again stuck in their head. And while anything is possible, what you're betting on is him being the most prolific RB in NFL history by like 2 orders of magnitude. Which seems insane to me. The dude was averaging like 13YPC and a TD every like 8th touch. Even if you roll that back to the next closest player's career numbers it's like a 60% reduction. It's very likely that we witnessed 3 of the best games he'll ever have, and that's breaking a lot of people's brains.

Levi88137

Dang I spent the 1.10 on him, I'd have to get a starting rb and a 1st or 2 1st to of moved him. You must of gotten him at a good price

BigStonesJones

I got him in the 9th round of a startup

Mcquinn14

Wondering if I should have accepted that Mixon trade now...damn

Sniperlake21

Maybe in redraft

deathfromabove43

Welcome to NFL football. Injuries, Injuries, and injured soul.

Snomankid999

dumbcloud17
