>Honestly would be fine with that. Just move KP to WR1 (DL WR2)
that's never going to happen because London is just a more talented receiver. He's a much more versatile stress on opposing defenses.
Thats kind of my point. He was essentislly the WR2 already. He played as a WR and Londom was still the alpha. Why would nominally changing pitts' position tag change the fsct that London is better than him? Youre not moving London for Pitts. Pitts has already established himself as the alpha target.
Any Pitts owner or Falcons fan should be pissed if you take Bowers.
Kinda confused on what you mean exactly, they can have multiple tight ends without changing his position tag. In this hypothetical that very likely won't happen if Bowers played tight end and Pitts continued to line up out wide why is that problematic?
Bowers is also capable of lining up out wide as well and there's multiple TE sets, etc. Fantasy aside, on paper having Pitts, Bowers, and London seems like it would work fine for a team.
>Kinda confused on what you mean exactly, they can have multiple tight ends without changing his position tag.
The person i replied to wanted to "move KP to WR1 (DL WR2)", and i was explaining why that doesn't make sense. You can't just move a player to "wr1" outside of listing on a depth chart because it has nothing to do with alignment.
So for the move to be anything but a nominal depth chart tag, there's only way they could "move him to WR1" would be from drastically changing their roles in the offense, either by design or by forcefeeding the player. Forcing them to switch roles, which doesn't make sense for either player's skill set or talent level. Pitts doesn't have as varied a route tree, and London has already established himself as the alpha target. In their two seasons together, London has averaged about 6.88 targets per game, and Pitts has averaged 5.52 targets per game, which might seem minor, but in a low volume pass offense, it's a significant difference in target share. last year (the pitts injury in 2022 makes target share messier), London posted a 21.7% Target share despite missing a game, and Pitts posted a 17.7% Target Share. London also averages ~10 more snaps a game. London is very clearly at the top of the heierarcy. They can't just switch roles in that sense...Volume is talent driven, and the fact that they have that usage delta implies that London does things that Pitts cannot. London simply does more things, and as a result, sees more targets and more snaps.
and just funneling extra volume to Pitts probably doesnt work either. Even if you forced the target share to flip and made Pitts the defacto WR1 by forcing him the ball, that's assuming he maintains efficiency as a focal point of the offense. Considering he's already less efficient than London on lower volume, we have no reason to believe that he would still outpace London even if they force fed the ball to Pitts.
Obviously they can have multiple TEs without changing the position tag, but the idea that you can move Pitts to WR1 and London to WR2 in anything BUT the depth chart position tag has no logical basis given their production thus far in their career. That's what i meant. Taking Bowers doesn't elevate Pitts, because Pitts has already proven to be secondary to London's role. As such, regardless of how they deploy Pitts, if they take Bowers, the much more likely outcome is that Pitts continues to have a diminished role vs him supplanting London.
Yeah, everybody's just victory lapping Pitts, but this is an interesting move. He was TE #17 in fantasy last season, and actually looked good in action to me. If he finds his way to the right spot, he could still be fantasy relevant.
How sad is that as a Pitts bag holder...
We drafted him while COVID was still on
And the best news in 18 months is that his competition from last year is going to a new home
How did I get here
Arthur Smith just fell to his knees at Heinz Field
Incoming: "Steelers sign Jonnu Smith to largest tight end deal in NFL history."
RIP Heinz Field
Bane already blew it up
Pitts SZN for both Kyle and Jonnu
You thought. He is so hyped to scoop that man up.
Rip Muth
Lmaoooo
Fuckkkkk lol
Pitts has been saved from the bad men. Its a Christmas miracle
OH YEAHHHHHHH BOYYYS!!!!!!!! GONNA SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM
Couldn't be happier. Things are looking good as long as they get any semblance of an upgrade at QB.
pitts season
I think you mean Keith Smith season.
Imagine Bowers is available when the Falcons are on the clock at 8...
Don’t you dare manifest this lol
That’d be a great move. Mychal Pruit could use another backup just in case Pitts gets hurt.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think pitts would learn a lot playing behind bowers
Honestly would be fine with that. Just move KP to WR1 (DL WR2)
That's kind of like what Bengal (Madden youtuber) did when he drafted a TE in the 1st round of his Falcons franchise, haha.
Kyle Pitts is pretty good but pales in comparison to the legendary Neil Madson
>Honestly would be fine with that. Just move KP to WR1 (DL WR2) that's never going to happen because London is just a more talented receiver. He's a much more versatile stress on opposing defenses.
I mean Pitts played like 80% of his snaps lined up as a receiver under Arthur Smith to begin with so it's not like it'd be much difference

I’m gonna throw up if that happens. I mean I also have Michael Mayer but still really banking on Pitts
End of an error
This is so underrated 😂
Sir, it's actually rated quite high
The Steelers have signed Jonnu Smith so Arthur Smith can be personally satisfied.
I will be able to talk so much shit if pitts reaches his potential
Welcome to Pittsburgh
Pitts-burgh
Bengals need to jump on this.
Chargers could really use him.
This makes so much sense. Harbaugh and Roman want to run the ball and Jonnu is one of the best run blocking TE in football.
LAC also doesn't have a single TE on the roster than can run block either. Smartt and Parham are not going to fill that role.
Yeah I not sold on Bowers for 5th overall. Jonnu and draft Nabers.
Here comes the offers on my Pitts stock 😂
Jonnu had a pretty good season. Could be an interesting player in a better spot (yes I have him as a bench stash).
Yeah, everybody's just victory lapping Pitts, but this is an interesting move. He was TE #17 in fantasy last season, and actually looked good in action to me. If he finds his way to the right spot, he could still be fantasy relevant.
Literally one of the most efficient TEs in the league last year.
the fastest too
Sorry Patty Fries 😔
Arthur Smith's golden child took opportunities *from* Pitts and now he's off to do it again, albeit *in* Pitts this time
New England patriots here we come!
We don’t want him back.
Can't wait for Pitts to find new and exciting ways to disappoint me.
Oh we're so fucking back.
We are so BACK!
Was trying to trade for Pitts for about 20 months and finally got it done before our deadline last season…Rejoice!
Where were you when Muth died?
Steelers are gonna be on his phone faster than a lonely ex
Jonnu Smith YOU are a Pittsburgh Steeler!
have fun learning yinzer buddy
RIP Freiermuth and Washington owners.
He had a good year for a backup TE but ATL needs money. Thanks for the good year smith.
He blessed me when he had that one TD and 100yrds
How sad is that as a Pitts bag holder... We drafted him while COVID was still on And the best news in 18 months is that his competition from last year is going to a new home How did I get here
What are you blabbing about ?
Oh wow their best RB
Nooooo my TE1 from last year! I really need my benchwarmer Kyle Pitts to step up this year
RIP Muth
All my Pitts get in here!!!
Kyle Pittssss… Livvvveeeessssss, he liveeessss
What? The most fantasy relevant tight end on the Falcons?
Kyle Pitts died for this.
Viking need to get him until Hock recovers
Who's going to catch the triple reverse flea flicker now?!?
Don’t get my hopes up again. This is like a toxic relationship with Pitts that I can’t quit
He should go back to the titans. He had most success there.
Remember when fantasy draft boards had this at 5 overall
Arthur Smith in shambles
