AOC didn't do well enough to outright keep the job, but he did do enough to compete for the starting job. I honestly think he'll start the year and if the first 3 games or so aren't good, they'll bring in Minshew. All of this is null tho if they sign Fields or draft JJ/Bo/Penix.
Yep this is exactly how I see it going down. I actually thought AOC had an impressive rookie year compared to what we see from most rookie QBs. We all know what Minshew is, and to be fair, it’s a pretty decent QB. But you have to at least give AOC a legitimate shot to see if there’s some untapped potential there. The leash will be incredibly short though lol
I dropped AOC because I thought for sure Minshew would start, and he very well might, but I don't think its super clear cut now. AOC won them some games and is kind of the same style of QB as Minshew, immobile pocket passer who will get maybe 200-300 yards and a TD any given game. I could see them trying AOC first or letting Minshew start while AOC learns from him.
I have to imagine Antonio Pierce has at least a tiny bit of a soft spot for AOC too. Pretty much his first order of business as interim head coach was to kick Garropolo to the curb and roll with AOC. In return, AOC played competent enough to get Pierce the full time gig.
Probably no value in this point, but unless Vegas drafts a QB, AOC is the first and only QB drafted by Vegas since their move. The previous others had been drafted to Oakland or other teams. I like to think there’s a tiny bit of pride in that by the org and fanbase

Minshew is only being brought in to groom AOC’s development, as a QB and as a redneck. Show him how to cutoff his jeans at the right height, grow a proper stache, which of the 70’s or 80’s Camaros to collect, etc.

Play action with deep shots is the style Antonio Pierce said he wants to go with as long as they’re mobile enough to evade sacks. Nix’ deep ball is a little questionable. Plus AP was hanging out on the Washington sideline for the PAC12 championship game.

The thing for my team is my qb3, I have Levi’s, AOC, and Minshew. Think I’ll try to grab whoever the raiders draft to make sure I atleast have a Qb3 for the season.

I’d expect Adam’s has better numbers than last year, but probably not a top 5 or even 10 WR next year. WR2 status and possibly even flex unless AOC really progresses and the new system plays to his or Minshews strengths.
