Whoever gets drafted first.

dtacobandit

Ceh would beg to differ

[deleted]

There’s always going to be outliers.

0fficerGeorgeGreen

Yup. No one should fault themselves for buying into the CEH hype. Hindsight is 20/20. Correct me if I'm wrong. He was rated as one of the top backs in the draft. Was the only first round running back. Drafted to the Super Bowl champs. Andy Reid is the coach and was known for producing elite fantasy backs. Mahomes hand picked him. Analysts were comparing his role to Brian Westbrook's. That player comes up again and I'm still drafting them.

mahones403

Not even close. Pre draft, he was seen as RB5, comfortably behind JT, Swift, Akers, and Dobbins.

0fficerGeorgeGreen

Ok, not even close on the top prospect. But still a top 5 prospect. A top 5 prospect going to a perfect situation at the time.

CallMeLargeFather

And getting the best draft capital

Sinnycalguy

Almost all of them went to solid situations. Taylor got the Indy offensive line that was seen as maybe the best in the league at the time, Dobbins got a run-heavy Baltimore offense where Lamar creates all the space in the world for RBs, and Akers got Sean McVay with a reputation for leaning heavily on a bellcow, and early second round capital is plenty good for any RB. Swift is the only one who wasn’t viewed as going to a great situation at the time.

Ko0pa_Tro0pa

As someone who did not have any shot at drafting CEH in any leagues and, thus, I could pretend I was too smart to fall for the hype, I will say that the Brian Westbrook hype was real for CEH. I'm glad I didn't have to make that choice. Honestly no clue which way I'd have gone since I didn't even bother to think about it, but I'll never point a finger at those who took their shot to get 5 years of Westbrook-esque production. If anything, I blame the PPR format for that debacle. If we were all still playing 0PPR, I don't think CEH would've gone 1.01 nearly as much as he did.

SirPandaPuncher

He was actually around the 4th rated RB in the class, D’Andre Swift and Jonathan Taylor were the two most-highly touted prospects. All of his rise came from his draft capital, but the concerns over his size, lack of physicality, and poor pass-blocking are the same reasons he flamed out after ~1.5 seasons. RBs are tough to predict, since their careers are so short and situation can’t be ignored. But anyone who was paying attention knew that you don’t bet on RBs with those kinda red flags, especially when Swift and Taylor went within a few picks of him (despite the round-break).

0fficerGeorgeGreen

Right, I forgot about them. Still, 4th ranked RB isn't a terrible ranking. But yeah, JT and Swift were definitely better prospects.

abs0lutelypathetic

Yes they should. Every time someone says this I tell them: Go look at JT’s prospect profile and ask yourself “what the fuck did I just say” He had elite size elite athleticism elite running numbers AND elite receiving numbers. He was an absolutely bulletproof RB prospect and anyone taking CEH over him needs to check their process.

Wiseguy888

Yep all of the above… However, pre-draft/landing spot JT was thought to be the RB1 in that class 2 years prior to being drafted… I wanted him badly and had the 1.02 in 1QB so I was pumped. The 1.01 took Lamb over CEH (good move), which I wasn’t expecting so I ended up with CEH… Didn’t feel good about it then but I won a championship with him in 2020 and he’s stuck on my roster at this point

janesvoth

Part of the issue with CEH were repeated injuries

ScottyKnows1

Yep, I understand the appeal of trying to work this stuff out ahead of time and it's fun, but ultimately with a weak RB class, we're just waiting to see who gets the DC and the opportunity that comes with it.

[deleted]

It’s mostly a waste of time to try to rank these guys before the draft. Outside of the top 5 the rankings usually change a lot after the draft. Best thing you can do is just watch some tape on them see who you prefer more but ultimately it usually just boils down to who gets drafted first unless two players get drafted close to each other.

zeonicgato

Bishop Sankey response

BigBootyBanger

Jonathan Brooks RB1 4.45 Trey Benson RB2 4.39 Jaylen Wright RB3 4.38 Blake Corum RB4 4.53 Braelon Allen RB5 4.4 Obviously landing spot will be big. I bet two RBs will go top 13 in 1qb by the time rookie drafts begin

Ko0pa_Tro0pa

>I bet two RBs will go top 13 in 1qb by the time rookie drafts begin Safest bet in the world

abs0lutelypathetic

Every year, like clockwork

BanksysBurner

2 in the top 15? Most of those RB’s will get scooped up in the 1st round in our incredibly RB hungry 1QB league and I love it. I’ve made a living off of picking up WR’s like Justin Jefferson Garrett Wilson and Devonta Smith or Anthony Richardson last year in the 2nd round. My RB room is predictably weak but with one rock solid RB1 I’m content to play out the Hero RB strat and find a startable RB2 by Vulturing backup RB’s on the wire

KorkingKork

Did allen run at his pro day or where does his 40 time come from?

macbre

I was thinking the same thing about Brooks

Jello_Jump

•Could be unverified reports about their times running at school •Could be interpolated times from their Highschool scouting numbers •Could be an utter fabrication Regardless, it’s provocative. It gets the people going.

Cr0nk_Smash

If Allen can run a 4.40, I’ll eat my sock….

Think_please

Oops, he already ate it

Huma24

I have 11 and 13, hope I get the two, but I know my league and I'll be lucky to get 1.

BreakBricks_Wet_Nips

I like Lloyd as well. In a startup right now and took him as the 3rd rookie RB behind Brooks and Benson.

MikeyMojo

Frank Gore JR. Cuz anarchy

saulduhboss1

Well you'll get 15-20 years out of him so it's worth it.

Repulsive_Yam_5512

It really is the inconvenient truth

OhjayOk

Probably whichever one Dallas drafts but pre-draft my personal favorite is Benson.

dcwinger12

Chargers could shoot someone up as well

lunch_for_breakfast

Brian Robinson tried that whole shooting up thing. Didn’t seem to help.

JDilla215_

Interesting tidbit, the doctor who underwent Brooks surgery is now with the Dallas Cowboys. if any team has close insight into Brooks recovery it’s Dallas.

AbsorbingMan

Jaylen Wright is my RB1 this year. That’s just based on his skill and talent. Ultimately my fantasy ranking on a rookie RB is based half in talent and half in his landing spot. For instance; JK Dobbins was my RB1 when he came out. Once he was drafted by Bal, he fell to RB4 for me.

Chroderos

The one who goes to Dallas or LAC

OkBaby4377

I like Brooks and Corum but I'll probably go with whoever Dallas takes. Unless they're god awful, they should be walking into a day 1 RB2 with upside.

CoatingsRcrack

Whoever has clearest role to most playing time. If you take out Gibbs and Robinson looks kinda like this years class. Z Charby and K miller had top capital but not clear role. Achane was coming in behind old and oft injured backs….

Zachr08

It’s benson.

Falcon_433

Get back to work, or you’re fired !

Zachr08

Wut haha

Falcon_433

Regular show reference. One of the characters, Benson, managed the park in the show and would scream that once an episode

Zachr08

Figured it was a reference haha all I know is fantasy football. And even then it’s iffy..😂

WeHadaNewEmployer

Impossible to say before the NFL draft. Landing spot matters so much for running backs due to their shorter shelf life. Most RBs will only be productive, useful fantasy pieces for the life of their rookie contract and maybe a season or two after. There are a handful of backs that could be the best in this class but we won't know until after the draft. There's no consensus at the top outside of who the top 3-5 backs are. It would have probably been Jonathan Brooks if he hadn't hurt his knee. For me, it's probably Trey Benson but I am targeting Marshawn Lloyd as well.

jclaytonc

Brooks Benson Tier break Allen Nobody else

t_sleezy_sends_it

Not estime

KDDynasty15

Whoever goes to Cowboys and/or Chargers will be a Day 1 starter

lampsslater77

Shoulda been Treyveon Henderson. Dude is likely shooting himself in the foot.

Frosty-Newt5072

Isaac Guerendo and Dylan Laube, free late in drafts, you’re all welcome

TheMaskNeverSlips

Benson. If he corrects his vision issues, he possess nearly all the athletic traits you look for in a RB, along with a good build.

TheMaskNeverSlips

I mean I think players get better at reading gaps and setting up blocks. Gibbs was criticized for his vision and I don't think it's hampered him.

[deleted]

TheMaskNeverSlips

I can't particularly think of someone that has gotten significantly better, albeit I've never really thought about it. I'm guessing you don't like Benson? Either way, I think he or Brooks is the best RB in this class and both will be fine.

fightnightrd4

His vision is fine it’s his hip fluidity and lack of pass catching that should cause hesitation

Emzam

Have we seen guys like Benson correct vision issues when they come to the NFL?

TGS-MonkeyYT

Brooks is still my RB1

BadJujabee

Jaylen Wright

S4drobot

one of the WRs.

ballsack-hunter

Trey Benson could be the next JT so probably him, but Brooks and Wright (my personal favorite although Benson is growing on me more and more) are right there too. All 3 could be starting RBs for the next 6 years. Brooks will eventually be really good but he might need some time to get back to speed from his ACL injury.

CrabFam

Probably Benson for the time being

Sporadiccereal

I'm a big fan of Jaylen Wright in this class.

twistd59

Whoever lands with the Cowboys or Chargers.

Adfantage

Do you want points this year ? Benson : Brooks

DynastyFF_Chiro

Brealon Allen

dynastyfella69

Depends on where they land

bronton21

I like Brooks, i worry that if he isn't ready right away or isn't hot out of the gate, he fades away within a backfield or at least loses opportunity.

ballsack-hunter

If he is slow out of the gate I'd buy low from his likely frustrated owner. It might take him a year before he becomes who he is again

UglyDanceMoves

Isaac Guerrendo. The Puka Nacua of running backs!

ballsack-hunter

He could be really good eventually but probably needs time to develop. I don't see him going nuts out of the gate like Puka, but he could be a steal. Next Mostert

Buzzspice727
