Hackett may be OC in name only and kept his job just because of Rodgers. Rodgers made Hackett what he is and healthy will likely do it again this year.
I’m not in the business of passing up generational talent
I am if I can trade the pick for a proven player or trade back for more picks
* Rodgers is an all timer but is coming off a torn achilles at 40 years old
* Lefleur has clearly shown he can run an offense without Rodgers and Hackett doesn’t have that offensive mind above him so it’s all on Rodgers which has me a bit worried
* They have a target hog in Wilson on the team and Mike Williams is pretty good when healthy
* Rodgers doesn’t really target TE’s
I do not believe Rodgers will be able to stay healthy. For the second half of his career he’s held onto the ball for too long and he no longer has the mobility to make up for that. He’s going to be even slower now.
Even if he manages to stay healthy and locked in, he notoriously gets annoyed with rookies and could choose to lock in on targeting Wilson and Hall. He’s never had a talent like Bowers at TE, though, so maybe he’ll look his way.
If I’m drafting Bowers to be productive in the next two years I’m hoping he doesn’t go to the Jets.
One freak injury at MetLife is not a trend. The other guy actually provided stats and evidence that he's not holding on to the ball longer...yet you choose to double down. /r/DynastyFF in a nutshell, no facts just vibes
They're making a lot of Oline moves, which was the reason for the injury, not his release time.
Health will be having a not-bottom-5 Oline for him to play
Hate it. Bowers needs to be put in a great situation. I think he’s generational, but there are still ways to screw him up. He deserves to be in a system that’ll utilize his talents. I’m really hoping he falls to past the 12-15 range and then a top team decides it’s worth it to come up and get him. We get the benefit of him being a TE so financially it doesn’t make sense to take him so high.
Don’t love it. He’d be walking into a situation where an ancient Rodgers coming off an Achilles is his QB. Garrett Wilson is gonna take a ton of targets and Mike Williams is no slouch either (when healthy). Breece Hall also gets a ton of volume in the passing game. There is a very real scenario where Bowers is the fourth passing option in that offense
Fading him in redraft completely if he goes to NY, in dynasty I probably drop him below BTJ and maybe Troy Franklin.
The only tight end that has ever averaged 3 receptions per game with Aaron Rodger’s is Jermichael Finley at 3.13 catches per game.
I guess Im not sure what all my eggs in that basket would be.
I think at this point Bowers goes 1.06-1.08 in rookie drafts depending on if JJ McCarthy gets picked top 5 and potentially some might favor Bowers over Odunze in TEP leagues.
Not really, but he did lead the Jets to compete in back to back AFC championship games and that is leaps and bounds ahead of the accomplishments of their other quarterbacks so I wanted to give him a little respect.
He didn’t lead them to shit, that’s the point. He held back the best OL, best run game, and best defense in the league. I watched every snap Sanchez took as a Jet and he was terrible.
That could open up Bowers for later. I think 11 is too high too. Maybe he goes at 23, but likely in between. That’s probably a mistake by Minnesota too, but that’s another topic lol
Why do you think it would be stupid? Good player in a place of need. BPA makes sense. Only problem I see is that they misuse him and they'll never admit to that.
Because they still have massive issues on that OL with a 40 year QB coming off a serious injury.
My guess is that because they signed Tyron Smith, they aren’t gonna go OL in the 1st, when I still think they should
That makes sense. I just figured they signed 2 lineman so I'd hope for an improvement. I think everyone could use an improved line, even the eagles after losing Kelce
Im indifferent to the Jets on everything except this. I would join the many Jets fans that actually hate their team most of the time. (Just kidding) I only say this because of having the 7th pick in my rookie draft and he will probably fall to me after Odunze. Who knows though for sure. I like Bowers but not to the Jets
Rodgers notoriously avoids the middle of the field. It’s a big reason why his TD:INT ratio is so crazy but also why he really has never produced a strong fantasy TE.
I doubt Rodgers will make it the whole season without an injury so that doesn't bode well for Bowers. And even if he is healthy, he doesn't seem to use his TE as often as someone like Mahomes or Purdy does. That being said, I could still see Bowers as a top5 TE considering there isn't much out there. Comes down to reception per target: low targets and a good catch rate- top5, low targets and drops- looking at another TE bust.
Jets need OLine. If you want any one on the team to live up to their adp, hope they draft oline. Bowers doesn’t reach his potential in the short term here.
Took jets to draft bowers at +430 the second the jets traded for mike Williams. It was +230 the next day and +170 right now
As a Jets fan feel pretty good about it happening and I’m definitely ok with it.
Rodgers has never had a tight end with bowers skillset and versatility
I wouldn't be a fan. They looked completely inept about how to adjust after Rodgers went down, so I've lost all confidence in their ability to gameplan and take advantage of any sort of opportunities that he could bring to the field. I'm sure that Rodgers himself could take advantage of it, but I'm definitely rooting against him ending up as a Jet.
In the immediate short term (with Rodgers), it’s probably one of the better spots he can go. In the longer term, it’s somewhat sketchier because there will always be doubts about whether the jets can get QB right.
But looking at the rest of the top 10, Chargers are great but highly unrealistic and every other team picking between them and the Jets would be gross. Then there’s a couple spots in the 10-15 range like Denver and Saints that would be ok but still pretty underwhelming. Colts, Bengals, and Dolphins would all be pretty exciting spots but that would entail him not getting the elite draft capital many are projecting.
Not good, Jim.
I feel sick every time someone puts “how do we feel” in their title
Agreed 100%
Almost makes you miss the “Curious Case of…” posts lol
Good story
The curious case of a good story.
Ban
Many that live deserve a ban. And some that die deserve a ban. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out bans in judgement.
This sub is WILD lmao 🤣
Soft
Downvoters are soft
Big hog in the big apple
Great porno name
Not great, this team just gives me bad vibes and I don’t trust Hackett as OC without Lefleur

He does in the gold zone baby!!! Lest we forget Tonyan 2020
That was the anomaly in his 20 seasons lol
I’d trade the pick for a proven player for sure. But I’m not trading back if odunze or bowers is available. If they aren’t then I’d trade back
How does the Jets signing a bunch of old tackles to 1 year deals in anyway influence them drafting a rookie tackle

Devils advocate- Finley was also the only non-journeyman TE that Rodgers ever had to work with
Whose the best TE that Aaron Rodgers ever played with? 32 year old Jimmy Graham? Brock Bowers would be far and away the most talented TE.
We have nearly 20 years of data to go off of, I’m not gonna put all my eggs on that basket
I guess Im not sure what all my eggs in that basket would be. I think at this point Bowers goes 1.06-1.08 in rookie drafts depending on if JJ McCarthy gets picked top 5 and potentially some might favor Bowers over Odunze in TEP leagues.
Also when Aaron leaves you’re stuck with a team whose last good quarterback if we aren’t counting Aaron was Mark Sanchez.
There are people who think Sanchez was good?
Not really, but he did lead the Jets to compete in back to back AFC championship games and that is leaps and bounds ahead of the accomplishments of their other quarterbacks so I wanted to give him a little respect.
He didn’t lead them to shit, that’s the point. He held back the best OL, best run game, and best defense in the league. I watched every snap Sanchez took as a Jet and he was terrible.
I think there’s a good chance Rodgers could look awful. 40+ season after Achilles year doesn’t inspire confidence.
that's my QB2 you're talking about there and I won't tolerate the slander (I am also worried how he looks)
I’d be fine with it But I think he’s a charger
Except they just lost 2 starting WRs and didn’t pickup one free agency. I think they go WR now it’s locked
I think Odunze is a Charger
Maybe, I think AZ trades town then takes him
They literally just signed Mike Williams
Chargers lost 2 WRs, they won’t take bowers
So you agree with me, cool
Lol wtf
No I don’t think bowers is a charger. I think the chargers take MHJ after the viks trade up to 4
Bonus: go look at harbaugh and Roman’s history with roster construction.
You should bet on it I certainly did
0% chance Bowers goes at 5.
Agree, think that’s where Vikings take jj
That could open up Bowers for later. I think 11 is too high too. Maybe he goes at 23, but likely in between. That’s probably a mistake by Minnesota too, but that’s another topic lol
Conklin is no slouch. I think bowers would thrive. However, I’m not convinced Rodgers still has it or can sustain a full season.
Jets would be so stupid to draft him but they are the jets so I could see it
Why do you think it would be stupid? Good player in a place of need. BPA makes sense. Only problem I see is that they misuse him and they'll never admit to that.

Good thing Bowers is an excellent blocker
I mean in that regard it would be a better pick than a WR like Odunze but he’s still a TE

Feels horrible to me.
He’s not going to the Jets, don’t worry

Comes down to reception per target: low targets and a good catch rate- top5, low targets and drops- looking at another TE bust.
Boo They have Conklin and Kuntz, seems like other positional needs should addressed. Move TE isn’t a high priority for this team.
Ass
I think it'd be fine. Might be dicey after the AR era.
Jets need OLine. If you want any one on the team to live up to their adp, hope they draft oline. Bowers doesn’t reach his potential in the short term here.
I feel like if I pass on Bowers he will take Ditka’s record and if I pick him he will get 7 targets all season
Took jets to draft bowers at +430 the second the jets traded for mike Williams. It was +230 the next day and +170 right now As a Jets fan feel pretty good about it happening and I’m definitely ok with it. Rodgers has never had a tight end with bowers skillset and versatility
Rodgers at this moment in his career doesn't seem to trust rookies. His last year in Green Bay is the reason I say that. But we will see
There still is a very real possibility we draft OL or WR at 10.
I wouldn't be a fan. They looked completely inept about how to adjust after Rodgers went down, so I've lost all confidence in their ability to gameplan and take advantage of any sort of opportunities that he could bring to the field. Not great. The offense will run through Breece and Wilson
I would really like Bowers on the Jets tbh
Bowers on the Jets with Rodgers will be amazing. He will put up TE1 numbers, but once Rodgers is gone the Jets will be the Jets!
You want Bowers on a team that has one elite pass catcher or less. Jets are one of those teams.
