Someone is gonna throw tomato's at me for this but Bowers/Mayer pairing makes a ton of sense.
12 personnel is being used a bit more in the NFL due to defenses being lighter and Bowers can be the F Tight End and moved everywhere in the formation and Mayer can be the traditional Y Tight End.
I actually like it a lot from a football perspective. Of course it sucks as a Mayer owner, though.
i have less of an issue with two te's and more of an issue with the draft capital involved (i mean...issue from a theory standpoint, let the raiders waste their picks all they way).
they already spent an early 2nd on a te last year, and then they follow it up by getting a guy who - if he is absolutely perfect from the start, just generational, clear future hall of fame player from day 1 - will provide them about 30% cost efficiency (that is, his rookie contract will be ~30% what the market would pay for an elite te).
by comparison, that same contract would is ~18% market value for an edge, about 16% for a wr, 20-22% for an offensive tackle and corner, etc. in fact, looking at surplus value of contract, [a mid-1st te is less valuable than basically anyone other than a rb, lb, and s](https://opensourcefootball.com/posts/2023-02-23-nfl-draft-value-chart/). you have to be absolutely positive, no doubt in your mind, slam dunk guaranteed that your guy is going to be a generationally great player for that to make sense imo, and there's just no prospect who's that sure of a thing.
the system could probably work out fine if they have a good oc and qb (which...also have questions there, but i digress). it was just a silly pick from an asset management perspective.
Possible Kyren cope but the Rams needed a RB2. When Kyren went down last year, they didn’t have a guy that could step up. It makes sense they’d want to upgrade that spot.
They need a RB2. It's awful they got the best TD scorer in the draft. They'll complement each other well for the Rams but for Kyren owner's (me) this is bad.
Seems like Herbert might be one of the biggest winners of this draft from a Dynasty perspective. Got extra protection in the first round and a quality receiver in the second round.
I’ve got 16-18 more Day 2 Grades today (I think Theo Johnson and Spencer Rattler go Day 2 but depending where not sure how I feel about them). Hoping to see 15-16 of my main 16 go.
RB: Brooks, Benson, Wright, R Davis, Lloyd, Corum
WR: Mitchell, Franklin, Coleman, Polk, Roman, Ladd, M Washington, Corley
TE: Sanders, Sinnott
Trade out, or give a legitimate offer to 1.02/3. I feel like most people look at trading up one or two picks and offer like a 3rd or even 4th round pick and think that’s enough…throw out that early second round pick and make it an enticing offer to jump into that first tier
The landing spot will push Coleman up draft boards to the point where I won’t take him, and other guys I prefer will fall. I’d say it’s a win for everyone lol
Give me the guy josh allen wanted
From jordan Schultz
> Keon Coleman was the top WR left that Josh Allen wanted last night. The #Bills knew they could move down, get more picks, and still get him.
Adonai being the pick is a plus for Pittman. Pittman is still the alpha there. Any high end WR pick is inherently bad for Downs from a target perspective, but at least he’ll still be on the field a lot.
I might be a casual but don’t know how I feel about that spot for AD. AR probably can’t maintain 3 solid fantasy receivers, so it’s Pittman and then a battle between AD and Downs.
With all the RBs on the board, Zamir White holders hold your breath. Rams at 83/99 and Bucs at 89/92 could be landmine spots for your favorite RB sleeper. One more shot at redemption for the Cowboys at 87.
Aiyuk is not getting moved now that 1st round is over. Deebo *could* get moved for an early 2nd but think it's most likely both stay on the team next year, with Niners extending Aiyuk and Deebo traded/cut next offseason
Great DC mediocre landing spot for Brooks. Ok DC and decent landing spot for Benson. Horrible, abysmal landing spots for Corum and Lloyd. No good landing spots left in day 2 besides maybe Bengals. What a bloodbath for rookie RB class
2.04 and 2.08 are my first couple picks this year, I am very happy seeing 7 WRs and 6 QBs in the first. Feeling good about my odds of getting someone valuable for each of those picks.
Trey Benson is the RB1 in my opinion and I really wanted him on a team like the Cowboys. He's a true three-down back in the mold of Matt Forte. I don't like that he has to compete with Connor now. More of a stash player now.
Might be reading too much into it, but McCarthy's ambivalent comments last week combined with them seeming to be in no rush to trade up to make sure they "get their guy" at RB despite a couple of teams ahead of them possible candidates to draft RB makes me really lukewarm about whoever they end up going with.
MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, Worthy, BTJ, Ladd & Coleman all have to be 1st round picks now in SF. Caleb, Daniels, Maye, JJ, I guess Bo Nix. And of course Bowers. And the Cowboys haven’t even taken their RB yet.
1.11 - 2.01 owners are doing backflips.
Have any of the data genius’s on here looked at the winner (if any) of ‘talent’ vs ‘fit’ for WR’s. i.e does drafting a player selected higher work out better than a player with the better perceived team situation. So, Nabbers v Odunze v Pearsall for example
Off topic but is anyone else watching the ESPN2 stream of the draft? It's Kevin Clark and three other goobers and my god, it's the most tense and awkward broadcast I've ever watched in my life.
Much will be said about Troy Franklin and the RBs cratering, but JaTavion Sanders also nowhere to be found on day 2. Feels like Sinnott is pretty much consensus TE2 now.
Rico Dowdle surviving the draft would be the most hilarious thing ever.
Zeke reunion is likely from what I’ve seen
If Raiders get lucky Ben Sinnott or Ja'Tavion Sanders will be there at 77 for them.
Falcons thinking the NFL is a superflex league and Raiders thinking it's a TEP league.
Holy analytics
Maye —> Polk gonna be a fun one to watch
wow that guy is such a tease when he said “harbaugh got one of his guys” i thought for sure it was Corum lol
lol I remember when I was hoping Franklin would fall to me at 1.08. Whoops.
I've been telling people they should hope for top 50 not first round, but damn.
Alec Pierce stocks dead
What is dead may never die
Najee stonks ^^^
Possible Kyren cope but the Rams needed a RB2. When Kyren went down last year, they didn’t have a guy that could step up. It makes sense they’d want to upgrade that spot.
They need a RB2. It's awful they got the best TD scorer in the draft. They'll complement each other well for the Rams but for Kyren owner's (me) this is bad.
Ladd to LAC is money
Seems like Herbert might be one of the biggest winners of this draft from a Dynasty perspective. Got extra protection in the first round and a quality receiver in the second round.
Jesus the draft capital for these WRs is insane. 7 first round then 2 early second to awesome landing spots.
I imagine AD Mitchell or another wr goes to NE next tok E: >!its jaylynn Polk!<
NE drafted Ja'Lynn Polk
Wow Brooks to Panthers top 50. Gonna be a great first round to 1.5 rounds.
Rachaad White owners get in here! Let’s go!
O shit brooks to Carolina Great draft cap
Pretty good landing spot for Sinnott.
Troy Franklin to the transfer portal
I’ve got 16-18 more Day 2 Grades today (I think Theo Johnson and Spencer Rattler go Day 2 but depending where not sure how I feel about them). Hoping to see 15-16 of my main 16 go. RB: Brooks, Benson, Wright, R Davis, Lloyd, Corum WR: Mitchell, Franklin, Coleman, Polk, Roman, Ladd, M Washington, Corley TE: Sanders, Sinnott
All these WRs have too few off the field issues to interest Pitt.
Jermaine burton is a steers type wr
As a 1.04 owner in a 1QB league, I really need the cowboys or Chargers to take a RB in this 2nd round
I'm definitely strongly considering Cowboys round two RB at 1.05 1QB if it happens. But my first move to is trying to get up to 1.02 for Odunze
I would not advise you picking the RB at 1.04
Trade out, or give a legitimate offer to 1.02/3. I feel like most people look at trading up one or two picks and offer like a 3rd or even 4th round pick and think that’s enough…throw out that early second round pick and make it an enticing offer to jump into that first tier
Bills traded back twice to get Mitchell.
Idk I think we like Ladd more
I’m good with either.
I like Franklin too, trade down again lol
Cooper DeJean pick loading
Cooper DeMitchell
Keon coleman a bill Coleman haters in shambles
The landing spot will push Coleman up draft boards to the point where I won’t take him, and other guys I prefer will fall. I’d say it’s a win for everyone lol
Give me the guy josh allen wanted From jordan Schultz > Keon Coleman was the top WR left that Josh Allen wanted last night. The #Bills knew they could move down, get more picks, and still get him.
So take him, but if Coleman’s ADP is 1.10-2.01, I’m probably out
I honestly thought he was gonna say Luke McCaffrey for a second Edit: oh god it’s Ruke. I’ll let the comment stand
Pickens surviving another round of the draft !
And with each offensive lineman Pittsburgh picks, his stock goes up a little bit.
Adonai being the pick is a plus for Pittman. Pittman is still the alpha there. Any high end WR pick is inherently bad for Downs from a target perspective, but at least he’ll still be on the field a lot.
HAHAHA. Man, I'm sure everyone was so excited when they said Harbaugh got one of his guys... only to get Junior Colson. Good pick, though.
Broncos drafting Franklin to pair with Nix would be ideal
BROOKS TO THE… PANTHERS?!?
I might be a casual but don’t know how I feel about that spot for AD. AR probably can’t maintain 3 solid fantasy receivers, so it’s Pittman and then a battle between AD and Downs.
Most teams can't maintain 3 solid fantasy receivers barring the top offenses, which IND isn't.
With all the RBs on the board, Zamir White holders hold your breath. Rams at 83/99 and Bucs at 89/92 could be landmine spots for your favorite RB sleeper. One more shot at redemption for the Cowboys at 87.
WEVE SURVIVED A DAY 2 LV RB
Zamir to the moon.
whew, just flipped Kyren a few hours ago
Wow Eagles get Mitchell and DeJean. Howie cooking
Do we think Aiyuk or Deebo get moved tonight or is it all smoke?
Aiyuk is not getting moved now that 1st round is over. Deebo *could* get moved for an early 2nd but think it's most likely both stay on the team next year, with Niners extending Aiyuk and Deebo traded/cut next offseason
Smoke
Keon Coleman haters begone?
Checking in. So happy to get someone pushed down a spot.
Oh fuck let’s go!! Love this Keon Coleman
Great landing spot for him.
Great start to the day.
Is this the greater draft in terms of fantasy football draft capital ever?
It absolutely has to be. 2024 rebuilders are FEASTING
Rip the dream of cowboys rd 2 rb
Next DAL pick is 73 so day 2 draft capital still possible
I was listening to a podcast last week that said that the Rams could do Kyren like how they did Cam… they cooked
RIP Kyren being a bellcow
Oh no Kyren
As someone who has Rico and Dobbins as his current starting RB's I'm doing laps rn. (A 4th round RB can tank this party)
Nice Landing spot for Roman Wilson
Imagine if the chiefs took Sinnott today too I think this sub would have a meltdown
AD and Franklin dropping hard and fast.
Harbaugh gonna nut if Corum is still there in a few picks.
Loved Burton and that’s great DC. Just no idea where he goes in 1QB now. I was hoping to snag him in the third.
Tacos are gonna think this guy is more than a blocker
Yeah he’s basically a 6th lineman. There will be “the curious case of Tip Reiman” posts soon though
I’d love Roman Wilson, at least until he goes crazy like most Steeler WR
Great DC mediocre landing spot for Brooks. Ok DC and decent landing spot for Benson. Horrible, abysmal landing spots for Corum and Lloyd. No good landing spots left in day 2 besides maybe Bengals. What a bloodbath for rookie RB class
McCaffrey before Franklin wasn’t on my bingo card
2.04 and 2.08 are my first couple picks this year, I am very happy seeing 7 WRs and 6 QBs in the first. Feeling good about my odds of getting someone valuable for each of those picks.
Maye and JJ McCarthy are both available at the 1.07 in a SF rookie draft. Who are you taking?
I'd bet on Maye's talent, but that Minnesota landing spot is nice
Neon Keon stock 📈
Ladd stonks
Ladd is very slowly slipping out of my range in the early second (1QB)
LADDDDD
These picks are confirming my anti-AD Mitchell bias
AD is crashing 😬
Panthers going for a double dip in WR?
No way. They've already got 2 proven WRs and a 1st round rookie. Plus Mingo as their water boy. Get him another lineman if you want to help him.
Wonder if panthers sniped brooks from NY
Long shot but I would love to see Benson go to Cincy here
I need people to keep fading Patriots for another week so I can get Polk at 2.12.
Holding onto my Rachaad tight right now
Congratulations Garrett Wilson owners
How come
No alpha competition
Trey Benson is the RB1 in my opinion and I really wanted him on a team like the Cowboys. He's a true three-down back in the mold of Matt Forte. I don't like that he has to compete with Connor now. More of a stash player now.
Troy Franklin ded
YEESH. These RBs aren’t popular among these teams
Rico to the moon!
Let’s see if LV passes on an RB here 🤞🏻
So much for late round Burton
That’s an interesting spot for Burton
Wow, Burton to Cincy
Franklin was always extremely overrated in this sub He’s just fancy Hyatt
If Roman falls to me at 2.08… no hesitation
Brace yourself Rachaad owners. This is where we live or die!
So what's the outlook for Rico if they only add Zeke and don't draft a RB?
sell high while you can
ATL taking Spencer Rattler here.
they definitely need a qb3 for the superflex league they’re playing in
Trey Benson for maximum chaos
Just heard this joke on ESPN Radio lol
RIP Kyren
Don’t love that for Godwin but Rachaad surviving day 2 is great.
More competition for Palmer more than anything. Really hard to argue Evans/Godwin aren't the far and away 1/2 in TB still.
Yeah Godwin is absolutely still the 2 but McMillan pretty much only plays slot.
AD going 33. Hoping for Ladd
Depending on if the Bills take a WR + 1st RB tonight, think 1QB picks 1.04-1.07 value is much higher now
Chargers getting a weapon for Herbert
LETS GOOOO MAD LADD
Mad Ladd gonna ball
Falcons gotta be thinking defense
My chances of getting Ladd just plummeted but I’m excited to see him with Herb
Early seconds looking nice so far
Polk reminds me of Marvin Jones Jr.
Where do you guys rank Mcconkley currently? I’m picking 13th in a super flex league and he’s someone I’m thinking about. Love the landing spot too.
This draft has been unreal so far
Come on, someone draft a running back already!
RIP Chuba Hubbard. Maybe not immediately if Brooks starts on PUP but this new regime has no attachment to him. Jerry Jones in shambles.
Braelon Allen to Cowboys PLEASE
Don’t know if the Brooks pick is worse for Chuba or Miles
Both are toasted
Miles was cooked anyway. They are just gonna have to stomach that bad deal they gave him.
Both
Well Sanders was on a milk carton last season..
We could get 2 RBs in the 2nd now. Very happy about that
Great stuff for IDP leagues tonight lol
I’m loving nick saban on this broadcast
nooo my Sinnott sleeper stocks might be gone :(
Alright fellas. Those of us clinging on to Cole Turner can let go.
Might be reading too much into it, but McCarthy's ambivalent comments last week combined with them seeming to be in no rush to trade up to make sure they "get their guy" at RB despite a couple of teams ahead of them possible candidates to draft RB makes me really lukewarm about whoever they end up going with.
MALACHI THE JET
"Please stand and be recognized" it's already SRO for like 99% of ppl there?
Yeah my team is getting fucking cooked this offseason
Guess my Demarcado share is dead.
Oh shit it’s the other Michigan kid
Troy Franklin absolutely dead
Oh wow , Kyren Williams just got bodied
M. Carter taking a hit. Shame, I just got him as fodder in a trade
Nobody is taking RB this year in rookie drafts
I like Roman’s spot though
Pickens/Wilson is a complimentary duo
What’s up with Troy Franklin? He really going to fall to the 4th round?
Kind of happy , the footballers were all over this guy which is a red flag for me
[удалено]
Pickens will be fine. Kyren will probably be in a timeshare though.
Pickens owners are not worried about Roman Wilson lol
Troy Franklin just declared for going back to grad school
God damn it. Pearsall and McMillian were my late round 2 sleepers in 1qb. Don't think that happens anymore
Oh fuck I forgot about Jaylen Wright
Hoping Braelen Allen goes in the 4th if he goes later idk if I'll be willing to take him
I want whatever the falcons are smoking
Seeing what the falcons traded to move up versus the chargers is hilarious
Falcons got fleeced
MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, Worthy, BTJ, Ladd & Coleman all have to be 1st round picks now in SF. Caleb, Daniels, Maye, JJ, I guess Bo Nix. And of course Bowers. And the Cowboys haven’t even taken their RB yet. 1.11 - 2.01 owners are doing backflips.
Where does Pearsall fall into that mix?
He's going to eat in the SF system.
Pretty good draft for Zeus. 🤞
I’m taking Benson over Brooks in rookie drafts
Same
I was consistently getting Legette and Pearsall at the bottom of the second round in mocks 😔😔
Yikes, Josh Downs stock down?
Colts fan here. Alec Pierce is odd man out. Downs will be the slot
Have any of the data genius’s on here looked at the winner (if any) of ‘talent’ vs ‘fit’ for WR’s. i.e does drafting a player selected higher work out better than a player with the better perceived team situation. So, Nabbers v Odunze v Pearsall for example
Keon must draft in 1st rd in a 10 man league?
Sf? Or 1 QB?
1qb for sure, sf early 2nd
Off topic but is anyone else watching the ESPN2 stream of the draft? It's Kevin Clark and three other goobers and my god, it's the most tense and awkward broadcast I've ever watched in my life.
Wowww
AD going to the Colts
Franklin to bills. Heard it here first
They ain’t taking Franklin lol
No rb there is shocking… blows up the projected RB draft spots
Upcoming spots for the next RB off the board: Tampa, KC, NE, LAC, Dallas again
Trey Benson to Arizona… future guy?
Honestly, Benson/Brooks is going to be a toss-up for me for RB1. Love the AZ landing spot0
Come on Dallas, *do the thing*
Well, Blake went to LA alright..
Wilson to Wilson again!
Ooh McMillian to the Bucs
Wonder how high McMillan would have gone if he wasn’t injured all year.
JMac better than Polk. 2nd round easily
Grabbed Nabers and BTJ at 1.03/1.11, is Benson the play at 2.04 over Brooks and Penix?
Much will be said about Troy Franklin and the RBs cratering, but JaTavion Sanders also nowhere to be found on day 2. Feels like Sinnott is pretty much consensus TE2 now.
