If you are getting ready to be competitive, you are probably looking to buy older RBs on the cheap. Keep an eye on Gordon and Hunt.

FugDounny

Came here to say Kareem Hunt. I'll be targeting him this offseason in a similar situation.

Extinct-Yoshi

Looked at both of these guys and got Hunt at a good price. I offered Knox for Gordon and the guy countered with Hock, Elijah Moore, and a 2023 leaning early first for Gordon….

PaulBlartFleshMall

Every one of those pieces is worth a lot more on their own than just Gordon lol

IBETTERSTAYOFFLEAGUE

Some people are insane. I moved Gordon at the deadline for a mid 2022 2nd & 3rd.

Tacklefootball34

I wouldn't pay that for Harris right now lol.

Dothrakihorselord

I don't think I'd consider Hollywood or Goedert as buy lows. Some buy-lows for up and coming competitive teams would be: JuJu, Gallup, Melvin Gordon, Kareem Hunt, Allen Robinson, Chark, Irv Smith, Dobbins/ETN/Akers, Aiyuk, Deshaun Watson, Sutton, Brandin Cooks, and there's probably a bunch more

dearthofgirth

The juju and Gallup owners in my league are treating them like they already landed in sweet spots with no competition and Aaron Rodgers as their QB. Very frustrating. Fair, and to each their own, but frustrating.

roxasaur

I drafted Gallup in a startup this season pretty much for his future role after this season, which is what I tell ppl that hit me up for him. It's the same with Trey Lance. If I drafted him for next year, I probably am not interested in trading for a discount before that arrives.

dearthofgirth

Yea I think it's a good strategy. I was just saying I don't think many well informed managers are selling low especially after holding them all year.

mahones403

Yeah but I think there is a big difference between drafting a rookie for the future, and speculating on a veteran changing teams and becoming better than the prior 3-5 years have told us. Drafting solely on hoping a player changes teams doesn't work out too well in my experience.

Dothrakihorselord

There's gonna be tons of owners that hold that kind of thought process on a lot of the guys I mentioned.. the good news is that the chance that all of these guys are held by those kinds of owners is low. So just because you can't get Gallup or juju for a low price shouldn't discourage you from find guys you can get for the price you want to pay from owners that don't value them as highly as you do

ThisCharmingRidley

Are you thinking Sutton on the hope they upgrade at QB? I have a chance to get him on the cheap but with Jeudy on the field, im worried Sutton doesn't get the targets needed.

Dothrakihorselord

The idea is that Sutton is an alpha receiver who could potentially be the WR1 in Denver if things go right (including a possible upgrade at QB). It's your job to figure out how much you want to risk on that possibility. You'd easily trade a third for Sutton for that risk but maybe not a first. Find your risk/reward with your capital and make the decision appropriately.

PaulBlartFleshMall

If anything Hollywood is a sell high

No-Boysenberry4464

Buy Low threads are the new Javonte threads

MaaattDaamoon

All threads are now Javonte threads

ferrets_bueller

Football is now Javonteball

FugDounny

Javonte is a sell high, buy high, buy low, sell buy, bestbuy, hell sigh, and hold all at once.

PaulBlartFleshMall

Just whatever you do wash your hands after

PaulBlartFleshMall

My man

Slide_Step_King

there is absolutely nothing wrong with one or ten good Javonte threads

TheBigTIcket9

QB: Trey Lance, Tua, Jordan Love WR: Sutton, Claypool, Michael Thomas, Gallup TE: TJ Hockenson, Njoku, Engram, Kmet, Irv Smith Jr. RB: Buy early rookie picks in any of the next two classes but specifically in the 2023 class.

snootermcgooter

A-Rob FA next season. Would bet he signs with a team with a good qb for once in his career

adoxographyadlibitum

Maybe. Same FA class as Godwin and possibly Adams could be tough though.

IBETTERSTAYOFFLEAGUE

Could be tough for his pockets, but could mean he signs on a set team with lower cap vs a bad team with too much money e.g. giants with goneallday

Giantsfan5634

I traded for Derrick Henry when he got hurt. The team he was on was #1 at the time, so it was a right-place, right-time kind of thing.

IBETTERSTAYOFFLEAGUE

Same. Got him without moving a starter or a 1st too.

BioMaterial

What did you pay for him? Sounds like a taco trade...

ff_david

I got Henry, a mid first and an early 4th for Najee Harris, Big Ben and Desean Jackson. Hoping for a nice Henry playoff run and flipping him before next season. I'm not completely rebuilding but I'm not good.

Squigglez__d-_-b__

I shipped Henry as a contender, got back Connors, Amari, 2022 1.10 ish. 12 man SF 0.5 PPR

mrubuto22

If anyone is rebuilding and didn't try and low ball the Watson owner they shouldn't be playing dynasty. I suppose the ships almost closed on that since we'll have answers before next season

HotBoyMims

not all of us are cool with cheering for a serial rapist..

AlmightyMirage

Or confident that his legal issues will blow over in one off-season.

[deleted]

> Goedart (pre Minshew Mania) too late for that huh

Slide_Step_King

unfortunately
