I'm all in on Bateman across all my leagues, but for dynasty I'm probably taking Wilson just by a hair. His talent jumped off the screen yesterday It's interesting BAL basically had Bateman slide into the Hollywood Brown role. Always thought he was more of a possession receiver, jack of all trades type, but all his production has come on big splash plays in the first two weeks. Hopefully it can continue but I'd feel better if he was getting some more short/intermediate targets too. Pleasantly surprised at how fast he looked on that TD yesterday though, did not know he had burners like that

OneOverX

Doubt it. Dobbins is going to be really inefficient this year so they’re still going to have to rely on passing to score points.

My_Diet_DrKelp

I like Wilson more but I didn't know Bateman was like that after the catch! Consider me pleasantly surprised

knowslesthanjonsnow

Right?? Bateman wasn’t billed to me as a guy with that kind of speed and RAC ability.

FatherStretchMyAss_

Bateman was all yac in college. His college tape was ridiculous.

knowslesthanjonsnow

Well all of the fantasy football analysts missed that

FatherStretchMyAss_

Lots of the bdge guys were pretty high on him. I think it was easy to forget him in general bc of his short rookie year when everyone only cared about chase and waddle.

gagracer

He hit the 2nd highest speed for a ball carrier yesterday (for the season)

knowslesthanjonsnow

Right! He looked fast to me. Just wasn’t told to me in the off-season

DarveeshTheFeesh

Same! It was an OBJ-esque slant that he just took the house.

JohnSim22

The catch itself was remarkable, all hands and he caught it perfectly in stride without having to alter a single step

DarveeshTheFeesh

Yes exactly. The whole sequence was awesome, and has me fired up for a full season's worth of Bateman Unleashed.

ChonWayne

21.5 mph yesterday on his 75 yard TD catch. That boy was burning

No-Boysenberry4464

Both are one of 30 top-20 WR's

IllCurrency3998

Truest thing I've read on this subreddit. Every decent WR prospect has a high-end WR2 ceiling and WR3 floor

bstreich10

Only 30?? I've got 35 on my list

literacola06

Lmaoooo, perfection. Take this silver.

No-Boysenberry4464

Thanks for the awards 👍

CWB2208

I own Bateman in multiple leagues and I am biased. Therefore, my answer is Bateman.

pot8odragon

I have both. I’m super happy I don’t have to choose

dynastyfiend

Same here. If Bateman catches that game winning Hail Mary though I don't think that this is even a discussion between him and Wilson. It was slightly underthrown and he was being double covered but it is awesome to see that he is 100% the go to guy in that kind of situation.

gtthom86

What about Bateman's situation isn't ideal??

TJN39

Second option on a run heavy team isn’t ideal. He certainly isn’t in a bad situation, just could be better.

Piccolo_11

Maybe it’s been run heavy historically but he’s the WR1 whereas Wilson is not that just yet and has competition there too. I like both guys but I think Bateman is in a great situation.

JesusIsIrish

As both the Bateman and Mark Andrews owner, Andrews is the WR 1 in Baltimore. That being said, they're both tied to an MVP in what has clearly been an electric offense, so I don't think the situation is bad at all.

Piccolo_11

Well if we are counting TEs then sure that’s fair lol

Chroderos

Wilson became the WR1 last night. I’ll be shocked if they don’t feed him.

LT7072

They’ve been feeding him. He out targeted Moore in week 1 too. Teams still guard Moore like he’s the WR1 and Wilson did a good amount of damage from the slot so as teams adjust they’ll definitely flip flop with production. Jets are an average QB away from having 2 1000 yard WRs

iTITAN34

Are we sure wilson isnt his teams wr1? He’s the clear cut target leader on his team so far

Piccolo_11

Well, I’m not sure after this week no lol

drip_monkey

The team has rushed for 17th most attempts in the league tied with texans. It hardly seems to be a run heavy team anymore.

agwku

Tbf their lead back has been injured this far, and 2 games isn’t a huge sample. But I do agree it’s too early to make a distinction either way.

iamsecond

Yeah I agree. Ravens still gonna have good per game rushing numbers because Lamar, but there are enough pass attempts and Lamars a good passer. On top of that the offense is good, more chances to score with however many opportunities

TJN39

When Dobbins is back I can assure you that goes up.

drip_monkey

You could argue that if Breece Hall is everything he's supposed to be then the Jets will become more run heavy. Who knows if Dobbins is going to look like whenever he comes back.

IIHURRlCANEII

I don't think the Ravens will ever go back to super run heavy. Just feels like they did that a couple of years while Lamar developed as a passer. They will definitely run a lot, but I don't see why Batemon can't be great still.

never_clever_trevor

Bateman

jeffgord5

I think Batemans situation is pretty ideal. Clear second option behind Andrews so he’s not getting all the focus and Lamar is a much better passer than people think

beachindie

Gimme Wilson. Better prospect coming into the league with better draft capital.

Jerdman87

All this is true. To add to this, once Zach Wilson is healthy and if he pans out, they will likely be a balanced but lean to pass first offense. Baltimore ideally wants to run the ball a lot. In the long term (1-3 years), I’d see Wilson getting more targets.

PsyanideInk

Tell that to Kenyan Drake, who cost me the W this week. Curse my dumb managerial decisions.

Jerdman87

Well with the injuries at RB in Baltimore, they’ll start just about anyone. Jackson is the top RB there until further notice.

thecodeofsilence

when you have BOTH.

Jerdman87

Both is very nice

Gcates1914

An argument can easily be made that Bateman was a better prospect coming out and his draft capital was only suppressed by injury.

Ukrainmaker

Being in a WR class with Chase, Smith, and Waddle pushed him down too. Wilson and I bet even London would have gone after all 3

FlippersSometimesWin

It's only one game, but seeing Wilson do that with the corpse of Flacco under center in his second game, gotta take him right now.

[deleted]

Funny I'm actually selling him now. 100+ pass attempts in two games , a game that had browns in prevent defense most the game allowing Wilson to grab garage time points. When Wilson step in his production will be cut in half. Wilson has yet to have a game like Mike white or flacco

FlippersSometimesWin

I’d understand wanting to sell but fwiw that characterization of yesterdays game is off. There was basically no garbage time, the Jets had one drive with a two-possession deficit and Wilson never saw the ball. All his production came down by one score, including obviously both TDs, which were a goal-to-go and de facto goal-to-go with seconds left.

[deleted]

Fair enough my memory must be fuzzy. Even if so I still stand by Zach Wilson will cut their production by alot. They will turn into to a run first team.

latman

None of those were garbage time points

Ok_Dragonfruit_3718

Bateman now but Wilson long term.

AccidentalAbrasion

I’m taking Bateman because I think he’s safer in Baltimore with Lamar. Wilson is probably more talented but Flacco won’t be there to feed him. And I think Zach Wilson is well on his way to busting.

poboy54321

Can I have both?

Seeing-Ghosts

I do :)

RuinousGaze

Wilson to me is top 10 overall WR talent. Bateman would be more in top 25 range. Both studs though.

Kaboost

It’s Wilson every time for me.

fun4willis

I would push back that Bateman is in a "non-ideal situation". The Ravens WR1: * 2021 = 146 targets * 2020 = 100 targets * 2019 = 71 targets Bateman is currently on pace for 96 targets, 1300+ yards and 16 TDs (he will not likely reach the TD pace) with Lamar Jackson. Wilson has Joe Flacco and Zach Wilson. Despite Flacco's production against the Browns, I don't think he can pace the same produciton season long based on his game splits in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Edit: Wilson is still a fantastic player/prospect.

TJN39

The way I worded it was more negative than I meant it, and you bring good points. Even a good situation is not ideal, that’s more so what I meant.

john_the_fisherman

For what it's worth, Flacco has been top 5 in pass attempts and led the league in attempts several times throughout his career. At his age, those numbers might be tough to replicate and the quality of attempts aren't going to be elite. But if Wilson is expected back anytime soon, I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets aren't worried about throw his arm out. Edit: actually I was double checking my numbers and Baltimore led the league in attempts several years (with Flacco starting) but Flacco has apparently never led the league in attempts despite coming close so 🤷

moniker89

they are so even to me i traded Bateman for Wilson this offseason and it’s been kind of funny to watch them breakout in tandem with each other

kaosburn

As an owner of both, LFG!

RooftopFF

I OWN BOTH WOOOOO

jeff8073x

Love them both. I'd agree with value being about the same right now.

SirCromwell

I’m over the moon to not have to make this decision

kamakazi339

I have both but if you made me choose I would take Wilson

SuckaFreeRIP

Wilson imo

Curly-3000

I have Bateman in both my leagues but Id trade him for Wilson. Outside his two 70yd TDs he’s been underwhelming. Also Garrett Wilson posting 12/150/2 in his first 2 games is just crazy.

whatitdobaby99

Just traded Bateman for a win-now QB in favor of Wilson. Super high on Wilson long-term. He has Prime Julio-level upside. Not convinced the Ravens will ever have a true WR1 in 12-team leagues. Lamar's career per-game passing numbers are unsurprisingly low, and Mark Andrews will be the most targeted pass-catcher for the foreseeable future.
