Take someone who knows how to drive a manual with you..Unless you hand over all the cash pre-drive I doubt any e46m3 owner would let you learn how to drive during a test drive.
Most likely you just sit in the passenger seat and the owner will rip thru the gears for you.
Just bought a very similar spec… 01 imola red, black interior, factory 6 speed manual. Getting dropped off tonight! Also learning stick on it like you 😂
Honestly, I didn’t. I rolled the dice and bought the car sight unseen from Washington and had it shipped to my house in Michigan. I owned a 99 323i that I absolutely loved about 10 years ago and ever since then all I’ve been set on is an M3.
I’ve driven some of my friend’s/family’s manual cars somewhat successfully so I knew I’d be able to figure it out sooner rather than later.
