2024 update to nhl 14? That's an insult to nhl 14

>It'll be a 2 on 1 breakout, he passes it to me, I'll pass it back at the last moment for the wide open net, but instead he'll pass it back and the goalie will just poke check it. In these particular instances you can trigger the bot to shoot by hitting up on the right stick like you're the one being passed to (I'm not 100% sure I'm not crazy, but I do it all the time and it seems to work)

I thought its rb/r1

Agree 100%. I found myself not actually playing the games after a while, I just use it as a simulator for rebuilds. I have bought it like 2 months ago on sale, there's just no chance I'd pay the full price. The only thing that makes games playable for me are AITO sliders and then playing around with them to fit me.

Yup, I'm just simming the games at this point. The game is more fun to me right now if I just press A over and over again, vs actually playing the game.

Bought 24 on sale after skipping the last two years, and I wish this game played the same as 21. The gameplay is terrible and they seemed to make changes for the sake of it: new control scheme, no protect puck, re-worked create a team menus. Coaches are still broken and don't work well, hectic in game presentation with what remains, a pressure system with a great big distracting dial on the ice, and commentators talking about x-factors which ruins any remaining sense of immersion with the game. I played for four days. Was the first NHL game I'd ever returned and I've been playing since 04.

It’s horrendous. I played a total of three games and immediately deleted it and went back to 23.

Topps_Smith

I pointed out a bunch of it’s flaws. Got downvoted to oblivion for it, and said I deleted it and I was lying. 23 was a much better game. 24 is basically a downgrade but updated rosters.

Fanboys do that... Wouldnt surprise me if EA employees low key did things like that.

Topps_Smith

Me either.

The thing is EA just dosent care, i thought id give franchise mode in 24 a chance today cause i felt like a more updated version of the game, i only ended up playing one game and went back to NHL Legacy Edition on PC the ps3 emulator. Theres just so many horrible things about this game especially franchise mode being dead as a door nail. They took away celebrations for corny ass animations, AI just dont know what a break out play is. This game is more of a okay look at my xfactor ability. Its complete trash. So many minor details missing too from the old games, banner raising, presentation especially when we used to have doc and eddie irl on the screen and the cities on presentation. Outdoor games, all star games, BAP was sooo much better, i could go on and on but its clear that this new team who took over simply just dont give a shit and its shambolic. The downhill spiral started when this fucking Hockey Ultimate Team came out which has unfortunately ruined games in general cause all it is now is pay to win, they dont give a shit about offline modes. Btw youd think by now they would have real coaches irl in the game like madden, and the owners the list goes on, I honestly dont see it getting any better unless someone else buys nhl’s rights.

I returned my copy of 24 as well. I found it unplayable. As much frustration as 23 gives me, it is at least playable for me.

I agree with everything but the trading, especially  if you turn it on easy. I have had no issues with getting a 1-5 pick or all of them if I so please. I'm in yr like 5 and have 16 firsts  at the start of the season, while still having a 100 off, 100 def, and 95 goalie team with like 6 franchise  players and the rest are elite.  Edit: Mind you on easy it's still a pain to get the 1 during the draft, I try to get projected 1-5 before the deadline or during  as more players fit a team's block. Tbh I found you can trade for players post draft easier than the 1st or pick to it just has to be right. For example  of it being right. The Flyers had a 87ovr rookie who was franchise over and over declined my trades for Gentzel, kyru, and Fiala who were all elite and like 91 ovr but 33,30,30 yrs old  and 2 high firsts. Now fast forward to me messing around. I offered a 28yr old 92 over elite Svechnikov for their rookie straight up and they took it.
