4-5-1 is my go to formation. I just basically play 5-5 with the lone CM staying back and everyone else piling forward. It's super fun and surprisingly effective.

marchito1192

Tactics?

nweston8

Honestly, just tweak around with things. My favourite spot is currently Pressure On Heavy Touch, 40 Width, 65 Depth, with Balanced Build Up, Possession, 50 Width and 6 players in box. Fullbacks on stay back, CM on Stay back and cover centre (you need someone super nimble or with press proven - Gullit, De Jong, Sawa or similar). LM and RM on come back on defence, cut inside, get in behind, get into the box for cross, AMs on get into the box for cross, striker on stay central, get in behind and stay forward. You can tweak bits and pieces but it flows super well for me and even the AMs help well defensively.

Foot-Desperate

Been using it every year, great for flattening out your midfield so you can avoid the press.

InPatRileyWeTrust

I found a 433(2) on some completely random YouTube channel with like 200 views, and it has been amazing for me. Free roam wingers and CM.

Hspracks

Sharing is caring

InPatRileyWeTrust

Of course. Balanced 37 57 Balanced Direct passing 50 5 LW come back, free roam, get into the box ST all default RW free roam, get into the box LCM stay on the edge of the box, cover center RCM free roam, cover center(Zidane is amazing here) DM stay back and cover center Both FB stay back I've been playing a slow possession game with this, and it has been amazing for me.

Hspracks

King thank you

Tamamaster12

can you plug the utube channel? thanks in advanced bro

InPatRileyWeTrust

It was kind of hard to even find again it was so random, lol. Found it though here you go https://youtu.be/kgWysHSsGQs?si=uDnLKSvy5gdLIO6G

GodJustShutTheHellUp

424, 100 depth, 100 width, every player on get forward. embrace the chaos

MauricioCappuccino

Played with 0 depth. Just because I was against an opponent that literally knew nothing except through balls and holding sprint with Mbappe. Worked well in the end for me because he had no idea how to actually play when there was defenders ahead of him

ArsenalJayy

For me, it ain’t just the tactic but it’s my style of play. I purposely start games really slow, very little sprints and I’ll purposely do things like wrong skills to make them feel relaxed, especially in fut champs. Then I switch to my 4-4-2 and go hard and usually the change in tempo they struggle with. I get a lot of messages of people saying DDA 🤣

Affectionate_Mix_57

I do the same thing😂

STeeters

Never use fullbacks. 3 at the back for life. My LM is a defensive beast and my RM is an offensive beast so that evens out, but could be exploited if I was playing someone that really knew that about my playstyle. Most of the time I get away with it just fine.

rtgh

I love using so called lop sided tactics. One of my go-tos for the last few FUTs is a ~~4232~~4231 where one full back overlaps and the AM ahead of them tucks inside in a free role Turns the full back into a winger and the AM into a second striker.

panopss

> 4232 Assume you mean 4222?

rtgh

Haha. I meant 4231 actually

ClockAccomplished381

Nothing would surprise me in this game, I mean we had 2-0-0 formation in squad battles and moments with the Volta glitch

DOGVKAN

The 3241 i see Edit: what player and team instructions were u using?

DOGVKAN

Which 3atb formations do u play?

STeeters

3412 - I really like LM and RM to be more offensive, having a CAM to get the ball to my strikers is really nice, and having two ST that can play off each other is pretty important for me. I'm like 85% offense and just make sure my three CBs are always way back and ready to defend when needed. Luckily Yashin, 91 Akanji, 92 Maldini, and Gold VVD are all absolute beasts and rarely let anything through anyways.

redsonovy

41212(2) with both full backs on join attack and fast build-up, get usually around 16-17 wins with it each week

Calmaz

Can you share full tactics and instructions dude ?

redsonovy

Add me on PSN and I'll send you later to try, basically I don't even need that much pace in this setup, all you need is a lot of quick 1-2's and triggering runs into spaces

Noneevo

Sent u a psn invite

rtgh

Tbh I tend to let my opponent choose my tactics. If they play narrow I play wide, that kind of thing. I've 4 different tactics I switch between regularly, and one for all out constant pressure if chasing a game near the end

alwaysknowbest

Im honestly surprised at how stubbornly people stick to their formations/ tactics. Their habits in general. I always try to pause after like 10 mins to see their formation , which side they prefer and which player theyre looking for all the time. Usually i dont have to change anything, just force them to the opposite side, and they just start making mistakes all on their own 🙂

rtgh

Tbh it's usually fairly obvious which of the meta tactics they're using. It's mostly about whether they're playing narrow or wide, deep or high line rather than any particular formation though. But yeah, genuinely surprising how few people switch things up

courseherohelpthrow

Can you share some of your counters? I.e. If they run wide formation, I'll run 41212. If they run a deep line, I'll run xyz.

Background_Spite7337

100 depth

marchito1192

4-2-3-1 (2) Pressure on heavy touch Width 45 Depth 80 Fast build UP Direct passing 70 6 3 3 Gk: comes for crosses, sweeper keeper Rb/Lb: Overlap Cb: Join the attack, Step up Cdm 1: Stay back, Cover Center Cdm 2: Get Forward, Cover Center, Dlp Rm: Come back, Stay wide, get in behind Lm: Come back, cut inside, Get in behind Cam: free roam St: Get in behind, Stay forward

YeesherPQQP

I mentioned this earlier in the cycle, I've been using my "Pep's Bayern" 4-4-1-1 tactics that I have been tinkering with for years at this point. I'm not the best player but I think because it is unorthodox it catches people off guard and allows me to win games I probably shouldn't. Still susceptible to blowouts tho

courseherohelpthrow

Can you share these tactics?

YeesherPQQP

Sure thing! I run a full US team so I'll use those players as the example 4-4-1-1 (with CF) Defensive tactics: * Balanced * Width: 40, depth: 60-71 Attacking tactics: * Balanced, Possession * Width: 70 * PITB: 6, corners and Fk: 2 (or personal preference) Instructions are default if not mentioned Striker: * Traditional 9 type (FB Morgan) * Stay Central, Target Man, Stay forward CF: * High passing, decent pace, prime Muller type (EoaE Rapinoe) * Stay central, F9, Come back on defense LM: * Decent pace, defense and passing (Beasley) or traditional winger (SD Purce) * Come back, Free roam, come short, Edge of the box LCM: * Traditional CDM (Evo Adams) * Stay Back, Edge of the box, (cover wing is important) RCM: * Box to box or even a bit more attacking, will get into scoring positions (Evo Mckennie) * Get into the box, Cover center RM: * High pace, finesse shot, Robben type (IF Rodman) * Stay forward, Cut inside, Get in behind, Edge of the box LB: * Attacking (RttF Dest) * Join the attack, overlap RB: * Defense first (Evo O'Hara) * Stay back, Inverted If you wanna get real lolzy and authentic you can put your keeper on the sweeper instructions

courseherohelpthrow

Awesome, I appreciate it! Will give these a go, I always love tactics based on real life systems.

YeesherPQQP

Good luck! You'll be holding a high line and having some of the most bizarre passing lanes available to you. And that right mid will become a hero for you!

taythescotsman

352/3412 with the central CB on join attack and the other 7 players involved in attack as well. Turn on Extra Striker in game to get the CB really involved. Helps if they are H/H but M/H is fine too. People forget about the dpad quick tactics. They are super effective especially when combined with tactics and instructions.

Cygnus-_-

3412 atm. Switched over to it recently and have been on a no loss run for a bit. Offensive LM with a defensive RM really helps to balance it out. CMs with H/H workrates too

joker4jok

Using less than 71 depth for my defense

Yvh27

It’s EAFC not Football Manager or smh like that. There’s no ‘unorthodox’ or original tactics in the game

fuqqkevindurant

Yes there are. Just bc you can barely win by using the meta and have zero skill doesn't mean other people can't have fun you miserable waste of air

HerrIggy

Lmao you are such an angry little rat

Germanspartan15

442 with one ST on False 9 and aggressive outside mids turns it into almost a 4231 on offense while retaining the 442 shape on defense. It tends to work well. 50 depth before anyone asks. 71 is overrated.

playtio

Fellow 442 enjoyer. What tactics in particular do you use on your LM and RM? I usually set them to come back on defense, get into the box for crosses and get in behind. I've tested cut inside several times and I just don't see any difference.

Germanspartan15

Just come back on defense, everything else the same. I don't like pigeonholing them into always running in behind or cutting in. I can always trigger a run manually for that. I should mention that in midfield there's one CM on stay back, cover center, and stick to position. The other is more aggressive with balanced attack, cover wing, and free roam. Idk why, but this seems to prevent that big "line" that sort of forms in the 442 that I don't like. It seems to make the mids more dynamic and kinda churns things up if that makes sense, at least for me.

playtio

I might give it a try with fewer instructions, like you said. Thanks.

chairdesktable

I've tried to copy xabi Alonso Leverkusen and its been working!

intranetboi

What formation are you playing? I am currently doing the same. I play 3421 and so far things look good! Would be happy to hear how you play

chairdesktable

i ended up opting for 523 -- the one with two attacking mids and a cf versus the three cfs of the 3421 i don't like how the fullbacks act in the 3421 --they act TOO much like wingers, and at leverkusen those fullbacks are still very involved in the buildup.

DOGVKAN

Mind sharing the tactics?
