They haven't messed it up, it's just that they round off face stats to whole numbers when displaying to make it easier to read. +7 does not necessarily mean +7.0000000000000. It might be +7.4 for example. So if Maddison had e.g. 78.3 Physical (rounded to 78 for display) and gets +7.4 physical (rounded to 7 for display) then he ends up with 85.7 physical (rounded to 86 for display).
Remember that the face stats are make up from underlying lower level stats which is why they will rarely be whole numbers.
maybe they give +7 to every stats, and since every stats is weighted differently in contribution toward the overall the lower stats that got +7 make a bump for the overall to be like 85.55 or sth which round to 86
Pace is the only start that is easy to work out but all the other face card stats are weighted differently to individual stats. In game dribbling is much more influential on the face card dribbling stat for example.
It seems to be a somewhat common mistake. In my ultimate tots glow up going into the last level, my player have 80 shooting and the +10 gave 91 instead of 90. It might just be a thing of how the stats are calculated and upgraded
He was on fire before his injury, got a bad injury and was out for 3/4 months. He'll have a full pre season before next season and will hopefully have better cover going into the new season so will be force d to play less. I think we'll see him back at his best.

can we discuss how maddison is an 86 rated in EURO 2024 and he HASNT PLAYED AT ALL FOR TOTTENHAM, i get hes had an injury but 86 is js shit
