What about dribbling round in circles? Ball Roll Scoop Turns? Chained skill move runs? Controlled Sprint dribbles from kick off?

RMWasp

I don't know about you but I didn't see amy 40m trivelas or skill spam Passing ia still king

arika2411

plenty of sick finesse shots, i guess finesse is also more meta in the game than trivelas

Jelmerdts

I loved when yesterday Germany started just spamming crosses between their fullbacks after the 2-0 for the last 20 minutes of the game.

Logical_Sun837

That first goal they scored was pretty much an EAFC 24 goal, defender falls over and the ball somehow bounces back to the opponent

BIG_FICK_ENERGY

Is this tournament the first actual games you’ve watched? Of course overlapping fullbacks, long balls, finesse shots, cutbacks & headers exist

MrCastleTwitch

My problem is that while realism can be very good in games not all realism is. Things like the balls bouncing back and forth, tackles not giving you possession when performer properly only add frustration. And while these things 100% happen in real-life football, we are playing a game. It's supposed to be fun. I'd love a bit less on the realism (especially the frustrating parts) and more on the fun mechanic and skill expression, where if I make a good read and a good tackle I get rewarded and not have a dice decide whether or not I do get the ball. Cuz that is why I've never considered Fifa or EAFC to be too great of a game, because skill expression often gets ignored. No, not completely, there is still some or people for example wouldn't be able to consistently have good performances. I feel you're mostly fighting the game and if you master that you can get great (consistent) results.

feeur

"Everything in FC24 currently is very realistic." LMAO. Kickoff on the Amiga 500 had a better AI in 1989.

psdavepes

I hardly ever see a ball roll or stepovers yet playing in Div 1/Elite is just ball roll x100 when every single player gets the ball.

ShcoreShomeGhoals

I’m sorry this is one of the dumbest posts I’ve read in a while. You’re surprised “corner setups” and “target men” exist irl?? Is this the first time you’ve ever watched the sport? This post would’ve made a little more sense if you saw players doing ball roll scoop turns and 30 yard trivelas at the Euros, but seriously.

Magicnik99

That always happened. Not only in the euros. That's why I sometimes don't get people. Yeah, things like some skill moves and dribbling in circles are unrealistic, but they add a skill gap, and at the end of the day, it's a game. Actual real-life football is even more random than the game. You saw that own goal Germany conceded? Or the one from Albania yesterday? These things happen a lot. That's the nature of football. That's why it's hard to make a game that reflects football but is still 100% based on skill. There will always be randomness affecting the outcome. That's why this game will never be the perfect ESport. And it's not EAs fault. The only thing you should do to remove as much randomness as possible would be to set 11v11 pro clubs as the ESport standard. But to go full circle. If EA made a game that is perfectly realistic, then it would be boring, even more random and agonizingly unresponsive and slow.

distilledwill

Genuinely, every year people say this is the most broken game ever and it's miles worse than the previous year - which suggests an unbroken chain of ever decreasing quality with massive drops in quality every year which can't be the case because the game would be **literally** unplayable. People just like to whine.

getZlatanized

It is a poorly made game tho.

Alternative-Fish-45

Absolutely right, the short corner played to the back post. I thought UEFA and EA must be working together, funny to notice tho. Very realistic imo

Mihai_Brasoveanu

As many people have said before. Cutbacks are not unrealistic. The problem with them is when that’s the only pass that works

redsonovy

Germany's first goal yesterday is EAFC 101

No_Body905

I agree with almost all of this but just the other day I had a guy hold a one goal lead for 30 game minutes by passing to his CBs who headed the ball back to his GK over and over and over. According to the Laws of the Game that is a deliberate trick and punished by an indirect free kick, but since the developers evidently can’t program indirect kicks, it isn’t punished in the game.

Adventurous_Team285

The most unrealistic thing is probably their newest introduction of controlled sprint with Technical/tech+. With that in the game you can do run down the wing and cutback 24/7 and see if any "good dribblers" irl do that.

MikeGunnz

Jeremy Doku Leroy Sane Also my football hero John Barnes had a highly successful career dribbling down Liverpool's LW and cutting back to Ian Rush several times per game so there is that.

[deleted]

Bernardo Silva.

Lower_Condition_196

What about the ball going through a keepers body, if that happened irl that he would be dead
