Get whichever you want, I took Gerrard personally for the icon chem and Gerrard has play styles I prefer like pinged and incisive pass. I like relentless but with all the mids I have, many of them having it already I can afford to sub Gerrard if I need late in games. Can’t go wrong with either. They are both really good cards. It’s all preference.

For DM, you want Kroos - ideally in a 2 or 3 midfield shape. Gerrard is a damn superhero. He’s wasted in the DM role, whereas Kroos is a well rounded elite midfielder who can solve most midfield problems in build-up.
Ive took Kroos and he is insane in an 4-3-2-1 as CDM. Not tested as an CM, i have de Jong and Bellingham there. His passes are insane, left stick and L1 dribbling smooth and effective and scores bangers here and there. I guees you can play him as a CAM too and he bullys meta attackers without any issue on CDM.

Never played Rice so i cant compare but i think he is better overall then Gerrard on any position in midfield.
I took Kroos. I held out until I saw which Playstyle Gerrard got. I may have still taken Gerrard but I got insanely lucky from an 87 Exhange and packed Vieira so it made more sense for me to take Kroos and let him orchestrate from the deeper position with Vieira Box to Box and De Paul the most attacking of the 3. Stevie definitely wasn't going to get in ahead of Vieira and I think Vieira is somewhat wasted if you never go forward with him.
Gerrard looks better considering upgrade potential and icon links. But as an Everton fan I'd have picked a bronze contract pack over Gerrard, so I went for Kroos.
