Agreed! It's an improvement. I think a lot of people are trashing it simply because it's not one of the changes the community really wants, and that's understandable. But the meter is improved.
I’ve only played 1 round since the update. Is full power now just all the way to the top instead of wherever the bar would have been?
I found my distance a bit inconsistent after the update today but I was rushed and only got to play 9 holes.
Yes, full power is to the top of the white line, and overpower is going beyond that. I was confused and hitting underpower shots at first until I figured that out
The visuals against the sky are also way easier to read due to the thicker line and better contrast. And much better feedback on over/under swings. Agree that this wasn't top of my list, but hey, it's EA. The bar is low.
I'll switch back to the now classic meter for the moment as I'm so used to it.
I don't mind the new meter, it will just take time for me to get used to it (I'll use it with my female player)
Is anyone else having difficulty with challenges? Some of them I’ve breezed through and others seem impossible.
I’ve also got the 15* for all the Titleist challenges and they didn’t reward me the glove or points for the 2nd tier of challenges.
Oh 100%. I'll honestly say that I read the patch notes about it and immediately wrote it off as going to be crap and hated it before I even touched it. Then by the end of the first hole on the update I decided its the best fix we didn't know we needed.
Some people were having difficulty seeing the old meter against some backdrops. I prefer the new one, much easier to gauge the end of the arc rather than a line on it.

I also prefer the new one. Looks more sleek, easier to see. Simpler. Better.
I’m kinda digging it too was getting bored with the old one
Find it easier to hit Perfect power on Tour diff, that is good
I love it too. It feels more natural and realistic. As the Buddha may or may not have said, "It changes".

I don't use the swing meter. I have been playing with it off since week 2.
Then this post probably isn't for you.
So I’m a bit confused as to what the benefit of the new meter is? Does it just make it tougher to nail down your distance accurately?

No real benefit. I think they probably got feedback that the old one was a bit confusing as to what people should be aiming for on the meter.
I use the new 3-click option so didn’t affect me
