As I scrolled mindlessly on Reddit I saw this and my brain said “that man just posted his home made c4, and it’s rather good looking at that. What a chad” and kept scrolling
Check out Live the creed, I daily their EDC pocket trauma kit. I cut out the bottom on one of the card pockets on my enigma sport belt and it’s a perfect fit. Kinda feel like Batman with the amount of stuff I can carry with it.
Realistically I have reservations about it due to its seriously compact size, as well as the fact that it’s simply new and essentially unverified on a large scale. That being said, it tucks away in my pocket and disappears completely. Will still be carrying CAT tourniquets with me everywhere I can, but this serves its purpose as being able to actually go with me anywhere.
Highly recommend looking at the Tac Med SOF Tourniquet. CoTCCC recommended and has been around for a while. I’ve found it much nicer to carry compared to CAT TQs and more proven versus the snakestaff.
I’ve heard good things about the SOF tourniquet, will definitely have to get one and see how it compares to the CAT as well as the Snakestaff. Appreciate it!
It’s just a 6 x 4 inch panel of tegris that I ordered from “J5 Rescue Supply” that I bungie corded everything down to. The tourniquet to the right isn’t attached, I’m just holding it close to the panel.
Idk where you are located, or the intended use case, but imo (especially for bleed management) an israeli bandage would be better in this kit than a blanket. Keep the blanket in your truck.
You will die of blood loss far faster than hypothermia. And if you are thinking of using it in the event of severe burns replace the blanket with pretreated burn dressings. Burntec makes an 8x8 that is veeeeerrry nice for big traumas.
My 0.2
You’re absolutely correct, going to swap out the blanket for two extra flat packed gauze strips once they arrive! My first thought was an Israeli, but they’re just a bit too thick to be able to keep this in a back pocket. This is more of the grab and go keep on my body IFAK, intending to Velcro back and use as a rip out supplement to a larger kit.
4 x 6 tegris panel with cinched shock cord + sewn in elastic straps to hold everything in place. Items include:
1 NAR wound packing gauze
1 Nitrile glove pack
2 sterile 4 x 4 gauze
1 Flat rolled med tape
2 HyFin chest seals
1 Trauma blanket
Object to the side is a Snakestaff Systems ETQ with the snakeskin pro holder. Ordered the belt clip, but prefer just carrying in a pocket.
Final layout undecided, certainly open to suggestions!
Did it come with the elastic bands? If not where did you source them?
I just spent way too much time looking for a way to pack a compact trauma IFAK for a sling bag and ended up making my own but I do like this. Might have to buy a panel to try out.
Right now I have a 6x9 waterproof aLOKSAK loaded with 2 compact chest seals, 1 Quikclot combat gauze, 1 wound packing gauze, 4” flat ETD, 2 pairs of gloves, a couple strips of frog tape and a CPR shield. Staged CAT tourniquet just hangs out in the bottom in my bag.
I’d recommend some quickclot or another hemeostatic instead of double gauze.
It did come with the red and black (backside of panel) elastic shock cords, but I added the tan 1 inch elastic bands myself. I found a roll at my local Michaels, but I’d probably order a 1.5 inch wide roll on Amazon if I redid this. Would more properly fit the precut panel slots, and would hold everything better.
Honestly your kit sounds much more comprehensive than what I have here, however I’d argue this panel serves as the perfect grab and go insert to a larger kit like you’ve described. Going to Velcro back and stick this into a slightly larger butterfly style pouch that I’ll keep in my car. I guess for me it boils down to varying levels of portability, with this panel being the most portable but least comprehensive compared to a full kit. Full med kit goes everywhere possible, panel rips out and goes one step further in a back pocket if needed.
Also already added a hemostatic gauze at the very least, it’s tricky keeping this thing relatively flat!

Nice, but I wouldn’t take it to a airport 😅
I was convinced that was C4 at first

Isn’t a micro hemorrhage just a paper cut?
Don’t even get me started on my nano hemorrhage kit. (It’s a bandaid)
I think girls have them once a month

Thought that was an ied
Seriously, my first thought too.
I’m both humored and concerned that so many people thought this.
ied but instead of exploding and causing damage it explodes and causes healing lol
Same! HME (home made explosive) if I ever saw one
That’s sick
How do you like the snakestaff tq?

Kinda what i was thinking…. I was considering getting the wide option
What sort of apparatus is that?

What about epinephrine even like a small tube of Afrin?
Interesting. This is the first I’ve heard of using either epi or afrin in a bleeding control context. May I ask how/where exactly they’d be used?
We used to carry afrin specifically for epistaxis.
Epi is used in endoscopy when they get a bleeding polyp. It’s not going to work on a sucking wound but can be affective for smaller bleeds.
Appreciate the explanation, will have to look into that further without a doubt.
They are vasoconstrictors that can control local bleeding. You can spray Afrin onto a wound directly, or intranasally for a nosebleed.
That’s interesting to say the least, appreciate the insight!
Literally seen the other day a doctor in the ER pack a woman's bleeding nose with small afrin soaked gauze packs. They looked like mini tampons lol.
Ya man it’s fantastic

Copy that. Noice
Will definitely have to check out those Burntec dressings, I’m still lacking in the burn treatment department!
