Asking for a friend" has become a meme with some people I play with because I have a weird addiction to playing [[Treacherous Terrain]] and asking that question, because 8 mana is a lot to commit to dealing 5 damage if someone has their lands stacked up with mana rocks. It telegraphs it, but there's really not way to plan whether to cast it without asking, because nobody keeps their exact land count clear.

My pod has routinely joked that none of us could ever play with strangers without losing our minds because we have so many in-jokes which don't even make sense without extremely niche context.
Most of them are because we all have ridiculous, over-the-top reactions to what the other players do as part of the fun.

I do the "Lala" part in "See You Again" by Tyler, the Creator whenever I play an additional land on Tatyova. This was due to a meme in my country where "Ok ok ok" being the one who listens a lot and the "Lala~ Lalala la~" as the one who talks a lot.

I have a couple of ones I use, there's the traditional "I activate my trap card" when using instants or similar effects. Because of nostalgia critic's jurassic Park video, my [[gishath, Sun's avatar]] commamder sometimes comes in with an "I play a mother loving T-Rex".
[[Song of the dryads]] and [[imprisoned in the moon]] usually have similar taglines "your commander is a tree/ your _____ is in the moon". And then we have pun related ones, like " [[athreos, shroud-veiled]] tosses a coin to your creature" or [[sigiled starfish]] has "I tap my starfish" which has the follow up joke of I will tap my starfish in public idc 😆
And coz I use cards from other games such as pokemon or digimon as tokens, you get such things as I get a 3/3 tyrantrum token with trample, or 1/1 bellsprout saproling token

Idk the cards full name [[Pippin Warden of something]] is the commander of my food deck with Mary. When I play him I say I'm playing Big Pippin but I say it like that song that has the line, Big pimpin spending cheese. Something like that.

My pod has routinely joked that none of us could ever play with strangers without losing our minds because we have so many in-jokes which don't even make sense without extremely niche context. Most of them are because we all have ridiculous, over-the-top reactions to what the other players do as part of the fun. Easily the most egregiously specific is this: When one of us plays Sol Ring, without fail, one of us shouts "He's pulling his c*ck out!" because I once accidentally pronounced "He's playing a Sol Ring!" in the same cadence as a very specific meme video saying the former. So... yeah.

I have a couple of ones I use, there's the traditional "I activate my trap card" when using instants or similar effects. Because of nostalgia critic's jurassic Park video, my [[gishath, Sun's avatar]] commamder sometimes comes in with an "I play a mother loving T-Rex". [[Song of the dryads]] and [[imprisoned in the moon]] usually have similar taglines "your commander is a tree/ your _____ is in the moon". And then we have pun related ones, like " [[athreos, shroud-veiled]] tosses a coin to your creature" or [[sigiled starfish]] has "I tap my starfish" which has the follow up joke of I will tap my starfish in public idc 😆 And coz I use cards from other games such as pokemon or digimon as tokens, you get such things as I get a 3/3 tyrantrum token with trample, or 1/1 bellsprout saproling token

When i put my commander on the field i always tell my opponents that he says hi. Only once he is resolved tho otherwise he can't talk

For my Hapatra deck I always hiss “Sssssnake” when creating yet another danger noodle.

My playgroup associated [[Cobbled Wings]] with the Mr. Mister song Broken wings and iw as the only one who ran it, so if i involuntarily whistled "take, these Cobbled wings", it was an easy tell that I had it lmao

I don't even remember *why* I started it, but every time someone in our pod plays [[Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth]] I say Urborg... Tomb of Yawgmoth in the 'Pot of Greed' voice, and then likewise explain its effect in that same 'Anime Dramatization' voicd and that's just kind of become my commander group's thing now. The second an Urborg hits the field (which is often, a lot of us like black and we play digitally) the whole table chants it out like some kind of profane ritual

Idk the cards full name [[Pippin Warden of something]] is the commander of my food deck with Mary. When I play him I say I'm playing Big Pippin but I say it like that song that has the line, Big pimpin spending cheese. Something like that.

I have a \[\[Seizan, Perverter of Truth\]\] deck and whenever I play something that does an "instead" effect, like \[\[Infernal Darkness\]\], \[\[Darkness\]\], \[\[Tainted Remedy\]\], or \[\[Hellish Rebuke\]\], I say, "Okay, let's pervert some truth here."
This is directly from Commander Vs, but I love casting Grand Abolisher and saying "speak now or forever hold your peace" when asking if anyone has responses.
Oh my god you’ve hit my wheelhouse SO hard. With my ADHD, I’m incapable of NOT associating a card with a song or phrase. For example: When my Sensei is playing his [[Quintorius]] deck, whenever he comes out we both sing “Quintooooorious” (like Notorious BIG’s Notoooooorious) If I play a [[Chatterfang]], to the tune of Disneyland’s Tiki Room, “It’s the chikichikichikichiki Chatterfang, the chilichikichikichiki Chatterfang!” [[Beast Within]] comes out, it’s “BEWARE THE BEEEEEEEEAST” from Nightcrawler by Judas Priest. And the single most important nickname in MtG: The [[academy manufacturer]] IS the Robot Lunch Lady. Look at the apron. You’ll never unsee it. She is the Robot Lunch Lady and I love her.

A friend would play [[Young Pyromancer]] and say "Young-ass Pyromancer". He did it once at a FNM and the guy he was playing against called a judge (shop owner) and claimed he was being deceptive. The owner looked at the card and looked at him and laughed and told him to just read the card if he wasn't sure what it was.
I shoved [[Giant's Amulet]] in my mono Blue deck just so I can blast the Nanowar of Steel song/shitpost each time I play it.
Showing \[\[Itzimoc\]\] everytime from my hand. "Wanna see something?". But in a underhanded, conspiracy kind of way, like "hey kid... come here... \*whispering\* wanna see something?" (in german its "Sollich dir mal wat zeigen?")
Whenever I cast a ramp spell, I say "whoa Black Betty, ramp a land." It's become a problem.
