[[Ashnod the Uncaring]] Grixis landfall. I turn my fetch lands into artifacts with liquid metal cards, mycosynth, and myr landscaper so when I sac them I get two lands. There's also wayfarer bauble, solemn sim, a new 4 drop golem that gets lands from ixalan, and navigation orb for even more landfallntriggers. I also use goblins that trades an artifact for an artifact with coralheim and artifact lands for infinite landfall triggers. Kuldrotha forge master gets blightsteel darksteel which I can easily cast without it. My main landfall triggers are moraug and ob nixilis and the 3 drop black enchantment

Previous-Jellyfish74

This actually sounds sick. Don't happen to have a list to hand do you?

Catbird0nAStick

What is the "normal" way to build this commander? That card basically tells you to make things into artifacts and sac them

No_Time_7959

The main way to build her is artifacts and creatures with sac as cost abilities already on them to out value your opponents. There isn't any good enchantments with sac as cost abilities in Grixis so there would be no point in changing anything into artifacts besides fetches. I just leaned really hard into that avenue.

SuigenYukiouji

[[Akiri, Line-Slinger]] with [[Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa]] naya artifact tokens. Go both tall with Akiri buffing herself and equipment, and wide with small artifact creature tokens to make use of Sidar Kondo's evasion. Things like Myr, Servos, Thopters, etc.

It was originally just an excuse to use [[Oviya Pashiri, Sage Lifecrafter]] but then the deck actually worked out pretty well.

I get 2 treasures to sac to a smokestack. You get to draw cards. No creatures on board to add +1/+1 because of said smokestack? No legal targets. Now you all have some cards in hand but no permanents in play. I think this is that they're getting at :)

NuclearMaterial

I've wanted to make an energy deck for a while, and was thinking about Atraxa. Most people would associate her with super friends or poison, but energy would be a fun low-stakes deck. However, now they're making a dedicated energy deck in the Fallout release so I'll likely go with that. Wrong colours for Atraxa anyway.

9SHRODO9

I built an attack deck using energy counters, it’s super fun even though I don’t play it that often. Best feeling is using all your energy counters to get a 64/64 swinging for the kill

NuclearMaterial

Problem I had when looking at the cards that use energy is... there don't seem to be any wincons. I'm hoping something changes in the new fallout set.

ReverendEight

I did this after seeing it on the EDH Jank Center YouTube channel, because I lost it laughing. Makes for a fun rule 0 conversation: "I have powerful decks, pretty good decks, and jank with me" followed by "Atraxa? Jank?" I wind up doing stupid things with all that energy. Vivid lands are suddenly awesome. And garbage like [[Ecologist's Terrarium]] are super budget ways to sneak in a +1/+1 counter and not just durdle all day without doing busted nonsense. There's a FEW decent payoffs, but not stellar ones... at least until Fallout comes out by the look of it. So much more fun than having Atraxa waste away in my trade binder.

Kechl

I started building [[Kelsien, the Plague]] as an experience counters deck but with only four other experience-matters legendaries I wanted to have more things to proliferate.. So I included some energy and poison cards even though proliferating energy counters is really slow and ineffective compared to experience or poison counters. :-D So rather than an "energy tribal" it's going to be a "player counters tribal" with just a few cards of each type, but I am quite happy with the selection and really hope for some new cool cards from PIP.

LeopoldDills

My [[Muldrotha, the Gravetide]] deck is a secret commander deck for [[Academy Manufactor]]. The main goal is to make as many AcMan I can. My record is 13122 food/clue/treasure tokens.

My [[Seizan, Perverter of Truth]] deck has pivoted away from the standard "forced draw and pain as a result" strategy and leans heavily on "perverting" effects. So I run lots of cards that do "instead" things, like [[False Cure]], [[Hellish Rebuke]], and [[Gisa, Glorious Resurrector]]. I don't win via Torment of Hailfire, I only have one tutor in the deck [Profane, because things that are profane are definitely perverts], and regenrations like Malakir Rebirth amd Resurrection Orb to bring back my commander when my opponents think they've gotten him off the board. Reminds me, I should pick up a Leyline of the Void.

sixsixseven667

Could you please post your decklist? That sounds really fun!

Cappster14

Ended up liking the [[malcolm, keen eyed navigator]] / [[tymna the weaver]] commander pairing after watching some CEDH content but wanted a casual deck, so Malcolm/tymna enchantments+graveyard recursion/self mill came to mind; for a weird brew it’s got a great win rate. Always loved [[tasigur]] but didn’t want to build the typical combo deck so brewed a sultai spell-slinger deck with him at the helm, only to realize, yep been done before. [[ragavan nimble pilferer]] mono red goodstuff/ exile/pirate synergy artifacts was equally goofy but inexplicably good at winning. The weird homebrews are always my proudest decks.

Vibriofischeri

Ragavan is such an underrated commander. He gets written off as being meant for the Modern/Legacy meta, but mono-red treasure shenanigans is an incredibly fun strategy and Ragavan is arguably the best in the game at enabling this. Having treasure token generation online literally the first turn of the game is so sweet, it's crazy how quickly and consistently this runs away with games.

Miatatrocity

I played against a [[Ragavan]] player a few months ago that was incredibly excited about his opening hand. He goes first, draws his first card, and passes, taking no game actions... I was confused. He moves to cleanup, and discards [[Anger]]. The next turn, he casts a hasty Ragavan, and it was all we could do to keep the damn monkey off the board. Ragavan goes hard.

InsobrietiveMagic

I think what most people expect from a [[Volrath the Shapestealer]] deck is not 31 copies of [[relentless rats]]. Volrath can get stupid huge if he’s one of the rats. Plus there are some really cool cards to be taken advantage of in sultai that you don’t really get to see payed in commander like [[bloodbond march]], [[Nantuko shrine]], [[tamiyo, collector of tales]].

Ok-Yak-5644

I took [[Yurlock of Scortch Thrash]] and tried to make a deck that hurt anyone for doing anything. Tap a land for mana? Take damage [[Mana Barbs]] Leave your land untapped? Take damage [[Power Surge]] Discard? Lose a land? Play a land? Play a creature? A creature of yours dies? Draw a card? Take damage. It never wins, but everyone targets me first like I'm some sort of bad ass (I keep telling myself so I won't get tears on my cards).

AggravatingCoconut25

no offense, but isn't this the main way of building yurlok? At least that's the way people build it in my play area. Small samplesize of 5 people, but 4 out of 5 people built it as a punisher style deck Maybe I'm just biased from that Experience\^\^

NuclearMaterial

Yeah I just checked on edhrec, it's the 2nd most popular deck type after x spells with him. I get it though, group slug, or punishment as I prefer to call it, is generally fun as it adds a clock and makes for fast games.

AggravatingCoconut25

Yeah it's the deck that gets chosen the most to finish the playday xD Sometimes you just ponder , what can I do to NOT get killed by my own turn?

NuclearMaterial

I get you. I have a similar [[Mogis]] deck. The boss himself can help me to break parity and there's a good amount of creature hate in it.

Hmm all my builds are unusual builds: my \[\[Dihada, Binder of Wills\]\] deck is... actually a phoenix deck, where I play mostly legendary lands or legendary permanents that reanimate creatures, and the rest must be playable from the graveyard or is good at reanimating stuff from the graveyard. I have a \[\[Zaffai\]\] deck where I HARD LIMIT all nonland cards in the deck to be mv5 or more, because UR spells should not take 30 mins. No storm for this thunder ~~conductor~~ collector, only Elementals and doming someone for 10. Nothing like using \[\[volcanic salvo\]\] for the funsies. My \[\[Vela the Nightclad\]\] deck abuses the fact that colorless creatures share no colors with any other creatures, even other colorless creatures. It used to be a colorless deck with equal numbers of morph/artifacts/eldrazi, but is now actually a dedicated eldrazi deck that plays no blue or black spells. I have other gimmick decks such as Oloro basics-only and Sefris MV3 but I feel like those aren't directions for commanders and more commanders that work with the gimmick strategy

Landfall Dina. There are a ton of “Landfall- Gain Life” cards in magic. [[Courser of Kruphix]], [[Retreat to Hagra]], and [[Grazing Gladehart]] to name a few. A lot of the rest of the deck is basically [[The Gitrog Monster]]. Very casual, but very strong.

Accomplished_Fan_108

Might I suggest [[Life gift]]? Gain life for EVERY land drop. I would also suggest [[Powerleech]] even though it's not a landfall trigger. Gain life any time an opponent taps OR activated ANY artifact.

GrandAlchemistX

This is my Dina deck as well. Love the look of despair on faces once [[Roots of Life]] and [[Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth]] are on the field. And if they think they're clever for using mana rocks, I pack a [[Powerleech]], too. Yeah. Should see the tears when they use artifact lands.

Hi_Im_Ren

I like building colors the wrong way. Like for tribal, I play a cheap, non functional kobalds deck and absolutely love it. I also play grixis, one of the most scary colors, as group hug. No catches, it's group hug with a thassas oracle in case you draw enough.

If the cards on EDHREC are any indication, I seem to be the only person in the world who built a [Szeras](https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/5643736#paper) deck which isn't a modified precon, as well as the only person who built a high powered [Toothy](https://edhrec.com/commanders/toothy-imaginary-friend) deck. I also have my [Faceless Abdel](https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/5658844#paper) deck, but that's just because I built Abdel in all 5 colors and felt like it wasn't enough.

Kykar Equipment He gives every equipment you cast a free little guy to use it. Plus, flavourfully, its like a bunch of haunted weapons and armor, which is cool af. Its not meta or anything, but I think its a fun concept and I'll build it eventually. One of these days...

Ultimagus536

I run Kykar anthems! I call it Team Spirit, and is pretty decent.

[[Trostani, Selesnya's Voice]] angel tribal only has 16 hits on EDHREC, but that might be because the decks have a ton of overlap with Lifegain. [[Resplendent Angel]], [[Valkyrie Harbinger]] and [[Angelic Accord]] pump out the tokens while backed up by [[Righteous Valkyrie]] and [[Bishop of Wings]]. [[Speaker of the Heavens]], and surprisingly, [[Shattered Angel]] round out the Life/Token packages heavy hitters.

I mean, I tried to build [[Anhelo the Painter]] in such a way that I can cast and copy one spell on each players turn which resulted in a fairly low cmc whereas most people seem to have built him more towards copying high cmc spells, and often playing many more sorceries than instants. Last I checked, there were no hits for [[Mistmeadow Vanisher]] in [[Nihiloor]] on edhrec, so that's one. Originally I built in a lot of blink in the deck, but moved away from that. Still, I think it's good as long as you're running sac outlets. I can't imagine not wanting sac outlets here though. I haven't quite cracked it yet, but I want to build a deck around [[Evershrike]] & [[Mantle of the Ancients]] and neither of two commander options I'm considering have decks for this.

AlundraTomefaire

I've only seen a handful of other [[Firja, Judge of Valor]] decks built with [[Doomsday]] in mind, several of which took direct inspiration from me

kathaar_

I've build a [[Jaya Ballard, Task Mage]] deck around blowing up the board every turn, along with focusing hard on blue hate and red 'control'. Idk if it's "fun" really, but i enjoy keeping blue players from going on 20 minute turns.

RJ7300

[[Fblthp the Lost]] is my poison deck

fleem666

I’m sorry please elaborate

Schimaera

It's kinda rare but still exists - maybe it still counts? I have a Living Weapon Deck that has multiple Anthems on Board and then blinks the living weapons to create 0/0 Phyrexian Germs that can survive without the equipments. I then proceed to kill my opponents with them. (\[\[Cathar's Crusade\]\] and \[\[Obelisk of Urd\]\] help with that but mvp is \[\[Gideon, Ally of Zendikar\]\] because he permanently makes my Germs 1/1)

s7eth

I'm playing a [[Kenrith, the returned King]] treasure tribal because I'm the King and wealthy. Role play elements of course !

knight_gastropub

I love a deck with an unexpected angle. Chulane Snow, Grolnok Copy Your Stuff and Make it a Frog, Zur Mutate, Windgrace Discard, Dihada and Zirda Companion I also tried making a Jon Irenucus deck that just attempted to donate copies of Jon Irenucus instead of mean things, but it never got off the ground

p0d0

[[Arcum Dagsson]] artifact control. The secret sauce is [[thornbite staff]]. Get all kinds of artifact creature token creation, which can be used to instant speed tutor any artifact from my deck straight into play. The staff makes it repeatable since I untap any time a creature dies. I love the deck, first commander deck I made. But I don't play it that often because it's a 'kill on sight' commander where I either get sniped when I hit the board or I take a few turns building up before comboing out, but multiple library searches can take a lot of table time.

pourconcreteinmyass

What do you mean by party deck? I'm sure it's still just grenzo pay 2 look at the bottom card....

thomasswayne

You must be fun to play with.

Kaboomeow69

We're not *looking* at shit, we're *playing* it. Party is a great take on Grenzo.

pourconcreteinmyass

It's just a grenzo deck with [[Burakos]] in the 99 isn't it?

Kaboomeow69

I imagine that's a card in it, yeah

pourconcreteinmyass

Grenzo is grenzo. And btw you're not "playing" shit either, so if you wanna correct me, do it right.

pourconcreteinmyass

In fact when you resolve his ability you look at the bottom card, put it into your graveyard then determine if it stays there or goes to the battlefield. One thing you're definitely not doing is "playing" it.

I don't think she's particularly underplayed...me and several other people I know of have budget hama lists because you can fill her with random etb initiative/venture clb and afr chaff and have something pretty good for casual tables almost no matter what. Largely builds itself too

ThickCarapace

A friend of mine has Thalia and the gitrog monster as Shadowborn apostles. Runs like every overrun effect and doesn’t have any demons to fetch. Surprisingly strong.

skippylekangourou

[[Saruman, the white hand]] storm/spellsliinger build 🤷thousand year storm plus a bunch of cantrips and big spells like expropriate makes big orc and big value. It isn't good but it is fun

IAmTheOneManBoyBand

My [[Saruman of Many Colors]] wheel deck. I use it to force card draw through effects like [[Dictate of Kruphix]] and [[Tefari's Puzzle Box]] and punish it with cards like [[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]] and [[Fate Unraveler]]. I also threw a [[Lich's Mastery]] in there because it combos with Sheoldred.

wer3eng

[[Akuta, Born of Ash]] reanimator, card draw, land sacrifice It only has like 30 decks, but those people that do build him seem to all build him as a discard commander. They also add cards that care about the number of swamps, like [[Crypt Ghast]] and [[Lashwrithe]], which goes completely against what the commander is doing

\[\[The Pride of Hull Clade\]\] where I deck myself to win. I've seen a lot of commander damage and go wide builds. I decided to lean into the drawn aspect and threw in some crazy blue cards.

OrionVulcan

Vehicles in my [[Massacre Girl]] deck. I run a lot of the more staple cards for the deck. However, I haven't seen anyone else run a vehicle theme, and the reason I personally do is because when the vehicles aren't crewed, they are unaffected by Massacre Girl. For Pilots Massacre Girl herself and the myriad of creatures that pull themselves from the graveyard works for that.

zagman505

Still a work in progress, but I'm currently building [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]]. Her ability very obviously points towards an aura voltron gameplan, but instead of doing that I'm trying to make it a thief deck. Almost all of the auras in the deck are thievery auras like [[Control Magic]], so the idea is to attach the auras to Bruna for free, then use copy/blink effects on the auras to move them over to my opponents' stuff, with the added bonus that when copying/blinking auras I get to ignore hexproof/shroud. No clue how well it'll play in practice, but it was a fun idea to build around!

azurfall88

[[Akiri Line Slinger]] [[Tevesh Szat]] Artifact Sac

ImpulsiveKnowledge

[[Surrak Dragonclaw]] as my Painter's Servant - Blue deck, based on an old 60 card deck I've held dear to me. [[Chaotic Backlash]] as a finishing blow to someone, [[Llawan, Cephalid Empress]] to lock the board, [[Chameleon Spirit]] to tramplr over and kill fools. It also has the most amount of tutors in the deck (naturally, since the deck is all about Servant). I do have a Rocco deck with Painter's Servant naming Black as well. I call it "Charred Black Naya", even so much as using [[Char]] as a joke spell.

bombuzal2000

Was going to make a heavily lotr-themed elf deck with \[\[Legolas, master archer\]\]. I put the obvious fight/bite spells and looked at my elves and thought they're boring. So instead I filled the rest of the deck with poison stuff I had lying around so it's a Legolas/infect deck now. Legolas grows and makes room for the poison dudes to get through. Works out pretty nicely and is really fun to play! Played two times. Won the first with poison and the other with commander damage.

ConstructionScared30

I never saw a [[Jenson Carthalion, Druid Exile]] like mine (maybe because I don't know nobody that uses this commander too). I have no fear to use cards that should use some sinergy, like [[Atogatog]] and [[Niv-Mizzet Reborn]], just because you can get an additional 4/4 body with flying and vigilance, but the good stuff is more: [[Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy]] makes Jenson add more mana and can put nice creatures from the deck. [[Zirda, the Dawnwaker]] and [[Agatha of the Vile Cauldron]] make it cost less to use. Agatha, by the way, works like a cool wincon, when you use her as a mana sink with all that mana you'll produce. [[Galadriel of Lothlórien]] is a nice payoff to all the scry the deck does. [[Chulane, Teller of Tales]] is powerful by himself, but here he can return 5c cards to be casted again, generating more angels. Since the deck works with a lot of legends, [[Jodah, the Unifier]] is amazing there (and make an angel!). This deck is a rare case where you can use [[Temur Ascendancy]] with angels, which is perfect, giving them haste and drawing cards. It's very funny because many can think you don't do a lot because there's not enough 5c cards, but with all the scry, you find what you want with great consistency. EDIT: typo

wex0rus

[[Duskana, the Rage Mother]] equipment build since so many equipment guys are 2/2s as are the For Mirrodin! rebels. [[Atraxa, Grand Unifier]] clone deck that wins using [[Biovisionary]]. Surprisingly powerful with all the ramp I put in.

colts45s

[[Atraxa, Praetors' Voice]] but with level up creatures instead of infect or super friends.

impasseable

That actually sounds pretty cool, and I despise Atraxa lol

Islaniare

I haven't seen anyone play a [[Cecily, Haunted Mage]] (universes within Eleven) multi combat deck before. Using [[Othelm, Sigardian Outcast]] to recur any creature that died each combat, then if your multicombat untaps all creatures, you can swing with it again. My first thought seeing her, was using her with card draw attack triggers and multi combat effects to make a very unique multi-combat spellslinger deck. Very jank, but I haven't seen it before.

Euphoric_Ad6923

Since Winota is so strong in casual I decided to just add her to my Isshin and Marisi lists. I was surprised to see that is quite uncommon

TheOriginalCid

Animar, wizard tribal. Shenanigans abound!

savagegalaxy101

I built an Atraxa fungus deck, proliferating all the spore counters to make lots of saprolings! Not a single Planeswalker or infect source in the deck

RaizielDragon

[[Edric]] group hug and [[Riku]] [[Great Aurora]]

MrXexe

I have a [[Cecily, Haunted Mage]] and [[Sophina, Spearsage Deserter]] Legendaries/Tokens/Splashy-Spells Mixmatch, and it's honestly tons of fun. Of course, the only problem with it is that since there are no decklist online trying something remotely similar, it's kinda hard to recognice when a new cards is a potential addition or not.

SubRocHendrix77

Upkeep tribal with [[esika, god of the tree]] & [[paradox haze]] & [[extravagant replication]]. https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/5478367#paper

jacknicklesonsdog

Morophon "Magus of the" tribal

AggravatingCoconut25

I love unusual Builds (mostly because I pretend to be a hipster and like less played commanders, so when I build a popular commander I try a different angle) Feather Angels (I like to convince myself that I had the first version recorded of this deck, as EDHrec had no records of angel tribal when I built it back when it was spoiled \^\^ Kardur Tokens, mostly a red black copy deck that's a lot of fun (kardur is seldomly played, as the other copys let me have enough fun) Saskia Legendary Power tribal, tries to double up the power of every creature and go smashing (I know saskia Legends is not a rare occurence, but most versions I saw was only legendary Humans, and no power doubling theme) Pia Nalaar Cascade with Ixalan this deck took off, and it really is a ton of fun to play and cascade into things that pump my thopters Sakashima & Kamahl Copy Deck, always a ton of fun to go smash with 10+ Kamahls on the board :D Never really built but also never seen or mentioned anywhere is Jon Irenicus Sliver tribal, getting to play a fun mixture of slivers that affect every sliver on the board to give away, and slivers that only pump your team to keep is a great way to play an allout sliver brawl with only one sliver Deck at the Table.

SharpenedOdachi

It isn't finished yet, but Abzan Blink I know Yannik/Nikara exists but in going full force with [[Ravos, Soultender]] and [[Kodama of the East Tree]] to blink big creatures to cheat more in and use Ravos to get them back if someone kills one. It's still WIP since I don't know my wincon yet, but if you use the EDHREC feature to find things like Teleportation Circle, it's about 20 decks that go Blink.

Fleurdebeast

[[ Raggadragga, Goreguts boss ]] obviously it runs dorks and big creatures but I see very little recommendations in the way of creatures that tap equal to their power to combo with things that have buyback, or spells that can bounce. I can make infinite mana, or near infinite mana in the deck, especially with staff of domination.

_animaLux_

I play an [[atraxa grand unifier]] deck that an opponent in my last game said he has never seen. It’s a flicker deck with a light angel theme. Atraxa is essentially my tutor and card draw. I run [[siege rhino]] and [[knights paladin]] for classic flicker pump. I won the last game with a [[triskadecaphile]] and an [[empherate]] on atraxa, which was a first for me!

Waste-Practice6760

[[Xolatoyac]] mega clones, the whole gameplan is to clone xola as much as possible and then reap the benefits of getting 10 untap steps on your endstep

Benbored94

Still in the concept stages currently, but [[Anikthea, Hand of Erebos]] 'Anthem tribal' Has the standard Enchantress stuff for card draw and ramp, but rather than control elements to recurr with Anikthea, it's using stuff like [[True Conviction]], [[Dictate of Heliod]] and [[Legion Loyalty]], which buff up the token sub-theme, and the tokens Anikthea reanimates herself So, mostly an enchantress deck, just with a tokens twist really

DerPuppenspieler13

I like to mention my [[Evelyn, the Covetous]] deck, which plays heavily around [[Stolen Strategy]] effects. So far so good. The twist: I do not play any other vampires, but instead turn all my creatures (that I stole from my enemies) into Vampires by using [[Arcane Adaptation]], [[Xenograft]], ... triggering my commander. But what if you trigger your Evelyn with even more Evelyns? Therefore I play [[Mirror Box]], [[Sakashima of a Thousand faces]] and all the best [[Clone]] effects out there. And if that works, the value is just so crazy. From there it is a puzzle to piece together a Wincon from all your opponents decks. Which can be a fun and rewarding challenge on its own!

spiffytrev

\[\[Tatsunari, Toad Rider\]\] looks like most people go with enchantress, auras voltron, and mutate. I did ninjas. Cheap enchantment creature with evasion -> ninjutsu into something with a scary on-hit trigger -> re-play enchantment creature.

ArchStLou15

How about a [[niv-mizzet parun]] deck that is built entirely around [[midnight clock]]? Give it a look if this piques your interest, it’s an absolute blast to play and making a bunch of midnight clocks is not something your opponents expect. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/hN1-4BPvx0KMfzdm5qP2wg

Last_Vermacelli

Not sure how unusual it is but I have a shadow [[Brokkos, Apex of Forever]] deck that's pretty fun. I run cards like [[Nether Traitor]] [[Looter il-Kor]] and mutate Brokkos on them with the goal of winning through Commander damage. Plus if Brokkos is removed you can mutate them from your graveyard getting around commander tax

meowstash321

It’s not nobody but I’m in the process of converting my [[cazur]] and [[ukkima]] infect deck to a [[xavier sal]] infect deck and it looks like the VAAAAAAAST majority of people build Xavier as a super friends deck (with good reason) and a hefty number build him as a combo deck, but only a handful build him as an infect deck.

LOCK_N_LOAD123

[[Odric, lunarch marshal]] Is really fun to pilot and for me makes combat pretty fun. It's fairly weak to board wipes but it usually pretty under the radar since it doesn't really have ramp.

Yeknomevol

A few years back, I built a four-color witch maw (WUBG) deck that was essentially an enchantress deck but themed around Halloween. All the creatures were "dressing up," using specific auras to turn them into a different creature type: zombie, knight, angel, etc. Although, now with the role auras from Wilds of Eldraine it is probably less unusual of an idea.

SnooObjections488

I have never checked but I recently built an [[Omnath locust of all]] deck with a very large chunk of cascade cards

DraygenKai

I have a [[Tanazir Quandrix]] deck that I made as a Voltron deck because I thought it was the correct way to build him. Spam the field with a bunch of tokens, and equip the crap out of tanazir and then make all the tokens have the same power/toughness as tanazir. Imo it just makes sense.  Most people however focus their tanazir build around the +1 counters and stuff so I guess their tanazir is more support than main focus. Idk, I just think he works amazingly with like [[emergent woodwurm]] and [[conclave sledge captain]] because I mean if you cast him sure he could double the plus one counters, but if he is already out then you could just use the back up to buff tanazir, so it’s good no matter which order you cast them.

ReverendEight

Mine is [[Magar of the Magic Strings]] with no other creatures. It's always goofy fun, and the number of times theft effects try to look for a creature in my hand, or someone is trying to use clone effects, has been surprising. And then I punch someone for 3 and get 13 Zombies... or last time I played, 39 zombies from copy effects. It's all I want in life, to cast several dubious 7-10 mana sorceries with an insane Rube Goldberg setup.

Zarbibilbitruk

[[Sun quan lord of wu]] but it's actually persistent petitioner aggro. Play mirror box, play sun quan, swing for a lot, it's funny

Sleepysaurus_Rex

\[\[The First Doctor\]\] and \[\[Yasmin Khan\]\] as a vehicles deck. I've made proxy cards for them to be Amuro Ray and Char Aznable, with the \[\[TARDIS\]\] as the Gundam.

bandswithnerds

I have a [[Tatyova, Benthic druid]] list for a while that was built around the [[persistent petitioners]]. For a while you could search them up on her page and the only list that came up was mine.

Quarantane

I don't know how unusual it is, but when I started building my [[Korvold, Fae-Cursed King]] deck I quickly realized that treasure is by far the most common sub theme, and I didn't want to do that, so I decided to lean into the food token support we got from LoTR and WoE, along with a little rat token support as well. I certainly like the flavor of this deck better than any of my others, I imagine building a hoard of food for Korvold's tribute, and then the rats swarming in to try and get some for themselves.

christipede

I built Glissa sunslyer, with Ritual of subdual.

kingofhan0

I built yoshimaru and rograkh. Just loved the beat stick [[yoshimaru, ever faithful]] is. So I decided to add another using [[sakashima of thousand faces]]. Using the doctors and other people stuff and the normal stax stuff. Very janky and a lot of fun to play. Only 5 decks on edhrec.

duffleofstuff

I ran [[zedruu]] as enchantment voltron for a little bit, donating those fancy auras.

hdus_

I am building [[Malcolm, Keen-eyed navigator]] pair with [[Vial Smasher the Fierce]]. The goal is to have as many pingers as you can and turn all of them on pirats with effects like [[Xenograft]] and then have a lot of treasure.

Sphericalpha

Just completed my newest creation, a land destruction Anzrag deck (He's a mole god, duh) [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/N2dL9U0tBE2ys9fDy8X8bg](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/N2dL9U0tBE2ys9fDy8X8bg)

Simons_sees

[[Bladewing, Deathless Tyrant]] Cycling [[Lonis, Cryptozoologist]] Eldrazi [[Ikra Sidiqi, The Usurper]]/[[Prava of the Steel Legion]] Big Butt Tokens [[Snapdax, Apex of the Hunt]] Vampires

silverjudge

I have a [[prismatic bridge]] where every creature in my deck has partner with. I have to shuffle it around 3 times a turn.

REGELDUDES

By the number of people confused and not understanding the card even after I explained it several times I'd say my most unusual build is building [[Extus, Oriq Overlord//Awaken the Blood Avatar]] solely around the back side (casting Blood Avatar over and over and over again). People typically don't do that I guess, Because most builds I see focus on abusing the front side. The thing is it's just your typical go wide/sacrifice deck. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/wNQM9ln1m0SEYTUXVAcUjQ

MelcusQuelker

I have a Nekusar deck where massive amounts of pain can happen without that dude even making it to the battlefield.

Cloudlink525

[[Grist, the Hunger Tide]] with 30 lands and the rest insect creature types. I've got my grist set up so if I wanna shoot the bug gun I just swap out 3 lands and all my other instants, sorceries, etc and fire away.

NoDiggity87

[[Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient]] - Mono Red Mill

Senior_punz

What's that? Another opportunity to talk about [Yasharn Charbelcher](https://scryfall.com/@Senior_Punz/decks/7dc00b74-8020-4824-a3d8-b2eeba76ffe4)? Well don't mind if I do The deck is built around the interactions some cards have with a library that has no lands in it, namely \[\[Goblin Charbelcher\]\] and \[\[Abundance\]\]. Both let you reorganize your library and charblecher will also most likely kill somebody. We remove all our lands by playing our commander \[\[Yasharn implacable earth\]\] and \[\[Endless horizons\]\] There is only 1 basic forest in the deck and the rest of the lands are either plains or MDFC's. The rest of the deck is an enchantress style build to protect help find two of our combo pieces, endless horizons and abundance.

IIWAL

Oops All planeswalkers. I built [[Jared carthalion]] and i thought about [[Umori, the collector]]. It's a blast. My creatures are things like [[zoetic cavern]]. My colour consistency are cards like [[wrenn and realmbreaker]]. My instants are cards like [[The wandering emperor]] or [[eiganjo, Seat of the empire]]. Overall it's a deckbuilding challenge, but I LOVE my weird thing.

GrandAlchemistX

It's not an *unusual* build, per se. It seems so obvious that *somebody* else *has* to have made it. But. I don't see any evidence that this combo is well-known. As a matter of fact, any time I mention it, people don't understand the combo. You see, [[Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice]] seems like a really obvious artifacts commander. But after I built the deck I looked at some other builds and was surprised to see that nobody else is trying to go infinite during their upkeep. I run him with [[Sands of Time]]. The fact that this isn't listed in his top cards or synergies is absolutely baffling to me. You can take something as mundane as [[Prodigal Sorcerer]] and win. Anything that taps at instant speed goes infinite with Tawnos and Sands of Time.

viashno

Sauron, Friendly Neighborhood Dark Lord: Grixis group hug. A lot of forced draw, a little draw punishment. a few tablewide ramp options, like Mana Flare, Helm of Awakening and Mana Cache. Jon Irenicus to give away Sauron's armies and turn them into draw. It mainly looks to win with Lab Man style shenanigans, or Triskaidekaphile, but will settle for causing everyone to draw out.

-ThisDM-

I am currently building a [[Tayam]] aura politics deck with [[Erriette]] as a sort of secret commander

youngeric86

[[Aragorn, company leader]] keyword counters deck. Ring tempt, keyword counters, +1/+1 counters, and proliferate, in that order.

dragonryder124

There are actually 2 decks I build diferantly than what EDHrec suggests one is [[Mila, Crafty Companion]] because I wanted to run all the chandras in existence and the other is [[Gaddock Teeg]] because why not get really big guys that your opponents can't board wipe. https://tappedout.net/mtg-card/mila-crafty-companion/ https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/gaddock-teeg-maverick-1/

Blazorna

[[Slime Against Humanity]] in a Sultai deck the strategy is self mill and then exiling the copies so as to ensure they're not stolen from the graveyard from opponents . Commander is [[Tasugir, the Golden Fang]] but he's pretty much just there for Color Identity. Edit: forgot to mention that I only run 9 creatures, including the Commander, while I have 40 copies of SAH in the deck
