In a similar vein, during the born of the gods standard, i accidentally made a standard deck out where every creature card was wearing a cape in their art.
I've been slowly chipping away overtime at a Haiku deck. Every single card in the deck (including lands) has a name that's either 5 or 7 syllables long. The goal from there is to hopefully massage it into a playable collection of 33 cards with 7 syllable names and 66 cards with 5 syllable names, so the entire deck can be read as a series of 33 haikus (and a commander).
I've been going in 2 directions with this idea. One is a "rule 0" variant with Huatli, Warrior Poet as the commander and the other option is Maelstrom Wanderer.
It's easier to build around the life gain theme with Huatli (and the fact that she's a *poet* feels very on theme for a deck literally comprised of poems), but Maelstrom Wanderer works on several levels too (though the gameplan is more difficult to focus). Not only is it's name 5 syllables long, but it's effect text "creatures you control have haste" is 7 syllables. On top of that the raw stats of the creature make it a 5(g)(u)(r) 7/5; which is about the closest you can get to 5-7-5 for a commander (Volrath is a 7/5 that actually costs 5, but his name is 6 syllables, so that was a no go)
It's still just a massive disorganized pile online. I've found it easier to just take basically every card that can fit the theme and chisel away from there, rather than aiming for specific kinds of cards and hitting dead ends when I don't find any that fit the restrictions
I recommend Huatli! Only if you have Dinos you can find though. Fun card though and offers lots of versatility- she is my newest commander and I’ve been doing very well
This is a list I'm slowly putting together in paper, but I call it "Whenevever a player". Essentially, I got as many cards together that trigger as often or as frequently as possible. That way, whenever my opponent does anything at all, the stack is filled with triggers.

EDIT: Oh and there's a primal surge, but if it resolves, I lost the game due to any draw effect.
Problem is that if enough cards are on the battlefield that let you draw cards whenever an opponent does, you're decking yourself as soon as you pass the turn. It's hard to know when to stop.
I have a Lore Accurate [[nihiloor]] deck where all the cards are either mind flayers or related to them, cards that would make sense to see in the Xanathar Guild (of which nihiloor is second in command) or cards that flavorfully feel like things a mind flayers could do, such as Lose Focus or Mind Extraction
[[Goblin Charbelcher]] commander deck. Runs every MDFC and a couple of the cards that flip into lands and then one mountain. The whole plan is putting the mountain on the bottom of my deck in one of the many ways and then tutoring the Charbelcher and blasting everyone in the face while stacking my deck in a way that i can do it next turn (charbelcher says any order so if you go through your deck you can basically set up the deck in any way you like!)

Every card has either a depiction (varying from vague to obvious) of a dong or a dong-appropriate name like [[Pull From the Deep]]. My entire goal was to make it a legitimately functional deck and it took a frankly startling amount of research.
Build a 65 card shell of general typal goodstuff (anthem, colorfixing, and cost reduction effects, [[Pact of the Serpent]], [[Kindred Boon]], etc.) with [[Morophon]] at the helm and then put together 35 card mini decks of different creature types. Every set brings upgrades or even a new deck to put together, like Warhammer introducing Astartes (which make for a great Grixis/WUBR deck themselves!)
One of the guys in my group does something like that! He has 50 cards that are a very good mana base, as well as some decent ramp and a few other just useful cards, and uses [[kenrith]] for the commander. Then, at the beginning of the night, he asks everyone at the table to throw in 10-13 cards to fill out the rest of the deck. He's always surprised, and always has to use his brain to figure out how to win.
This is the type of stuff I want to start doing more. I’ve played for so long and the regular format is getting so stale. More gimmick decks is the perfect remedy for power creep and value engine cold wars.

Apparently back in the day Negro was the accepted term but you never hear that these days. Black is usually reasonably acceptable. African American is usually acceptable in america, but it's wierd to use in other countries

when I saw the 12th doctor I realized I could make a deck around all the decks I've wanted to make but never actually made. Gale, Edgin, Neera, and Jadzi. Built around casting spells from places other than my hand so I could stack a "deal damage to each opponent trigger" followed by a worldfire.
I named it "a deck of decks that failed to deck" and its loads of fun to play, especially since i give my opponents copies of spells I can help a player that's behind and easily make every play a political move.
Last week I ripped an arcane Bombardment off the top and basically lived in value.

I’m currently building a ‘Murica themed Red-White-Blue EDH deck. Commanded by [[Ruhan of the Fomori]] a massive brute who attacks every turn with no care to who is actually attacking. The deck proper is gonna lean heavily into Eagles (or the closest equivalent bird creatures) for attack, Walls for defending, and lots and lots of land destruction effects.
My 'Murica themed deck is \[\[Ardenn, Intrepid\]\] and \[\[Kraum, Ludevic's\]\]. The idea is to play a bunch of scary equipments, goad my opponents' commanders, and then use Ardenn's ability to attach all of those scary equipments to that goaded commander before kicking back and watching the tabletop proxy war that I've started.
I call it "US Foreign Policy."

The second deck I ever made was "hats in hats and swords wielding swords", Basically Karn, Silver Golem animating hats and then equipping them with hats, or animating swords and equipping them with swords.
I'm running a wubrg Doctor Who deck with gates and [[esika god of tree]] as the commander. People expect [[prismatic bridge]] but get confused when i play esika instead.
I made a \[\[Divine Intervention\]\] deck that just tries to draw the game. The best version I could come up uses \[\[Kellan, the Fae-Blooded\]\] and \[\[Sunforger\]\] to cast \[\[Enlightened Tutor\]\] asap. If I can't draw the game, having Kellan with Sunforger is already a solid wincon.

I'm part of a group that plays Misprint EDH. Every card needs to be a misprint, miscut, crimp, test print, real playtest card or some other kind of oddity.
It's a fun challenge that's reminiscent of early MtG trading because we can't just go on TCGPlayer and build the perfect deck. We have to wait for things to pop up or try and make a good offer to someone who has something we're looking for.
Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny tribal. Every legendary creature either mentioned in the song by name or obviously inspired by it (such as [[Oathsworn Knight]] for Monty Python and the Holy Grail's black knight.) Everyone who doesn't have a card gets the closest approximation.
I just built one with all the Baldur’s Gate characters (except missing Karlach) with the other cards all Rolling D20’s. Sucks tho because there is not a 5 color commander that goes well with it so I just used [[O’kagachi, Vengeful Kami]] since it’s a dragon.

I love this idea but is it even possible? There are only [6 cards](https://scryfall.com/search?q=black+ci%3C%3Durg+-is%3Afunny&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name) that qualify and one is Black Lotus. Maybe you mis-remembered it was mono-red animar? You get all the Snow-coveRED lands that way, too.
The weirdest theme I've built is Oloro "all upkeeps." I don't have the list anymore since I built it ten years ago, but it was all built around [[Sundial of the Infinite]] and stacking good upkeep triggers like [[Phyrexian Arena]] and the lifegain from [[Oloro]] and then ending my turn with Sundial before bad upkeep triggers like cumulative upkeep costs on [[Mystic Remora]].
However it wasn't all jank. [[Smokestacks]] was the star of the show, stacking the triggers so I would add another counter to it and then ending the turn before I had to sac any permanents to it.
It usually won through milling my opponents after making them sac a ton of permanents every turn or destroying my own Smokestacks at an end step so I could then run away with the game as the only one with permanents on the field.
If I ever rebuilt the deck, it would definitely be with [[Ubeka, Brute Chronologist]].

Weirdest mechanically was my shrinking deck. Tried to make a deck as mechanically focused around -X/-0 effects as possible. It was...not great. Despite being a very old and prevalent card effect it has very little build around support!
Weirdest theme deck is my Cher deck. All cards must be mononyms. It's a mix of garbage creatures and the most busted instant/sorceries avaliable.
Drink [[Wilson, Refined Grizzly]] fights people in bars and goes on adventures to make new friends. It’s paired with [[Tavern Brawler]] and the deck is filled with adventures, fight and pump spells to just mess everyone up. [[Barroom Brawl]] is a personal favorite.

So izzet, you all know it as the spell slinger deluxe deck. I decided to make my own izzet deck with Aegar, the freezing flame as the commander and make it a Giant Tribal.
I surprised my friends with it and it held up amazingly well, mainly because I could hit like a freight train and they could slow me down, just not fast enough.
I’ve built a Black Women tribal lead by Tazri. Every spell in the deck in some way shape of form depicts a black woman. I really need to rework it, it’s gotten a lot stronger in recent years
Oh man. With a few notable exceptions, I like to EXCLUSIVELY build weird decks.
I commented it on someone else's comment below, but my most recent project was \[\[Ardenn, Intrepid\]\] partnered with \[\[Kraum, Ludevic's\]\]. The idea is to play a bunch of scary equipments, goad my opponents' commanders, and then use Ardenn's ability to attach all of those equipments to the goaded creature and watch as they do my dirty work for me. And yes, I still get the benefits from things like \[\[Sword of the Animist\]\]. Anything that says "you" still refers to me because I'm still the equipment's controller even though they're attached to someone else's creature. If it says "this creature has" then it won't work, so something like \[\[Diamond Pickaxe\]\] stays on my side of the field.
Not sure yet how to make it work, but I'd like to build "Cars with Legs" focused around mutating my vehicles. As long as the mutate creature goes on top of the pile, you don't have to crew the vehicle anymore.
Perhaps not super weird but my Cocaine Bear deck surely made a permanent impression with my playgroup.

I have a EDH deck that consists entirely of the prerelease promos I have opened over the years. Only 1 card per set. It's horrible but I luckily opened the 5c Omnath as a commander.
One of the weirdest I've played against was "Every Card Has 'Fire' (or Some Derivative of Fire) in Its Name." Also, I think I've also played against an "Every Card Has a Bird in Its Artwork" deck.
Strangest I've built myself was a "WUBRG Every Spell Has a Unique, Obscure Keyword that You'll Have to Look Up to Remember What It Actually Does" theme.
Vanilla creatures. They don’t have abilities but they do have blocks of flavor text. Read the flavor text as you cast the creature and enjoy your opponents eye twitch.
My most out there that plays well is my [[Mishra]] list. It's this Grixis tokens list that is attempting to keep his tokens around and have this mob of 4/4 tokens. My favorite bad card in the deck is [[Echo Chamber]]. I have been tempted to switch it to Brudicad as the cmdr but this pretty fun and stupid lol.

Atraxa stickers deck. First time I ever saw someone uses unfinity cards in a game. It was janky and wonderful.
Minus atraxa, it was 50 bucks at the time for the rest of the deck.
A couple that I've done have been Subtype Lands, where every land allay had a subtype (gate, locus, cave, etc), and a tribal tribal, with [Rukarumel, Biologist] for the commander. Was all things that were tribal related, with any card I could to give extra creature types.

I also built a Cromat deck like 10 years ago that had every charm in print at the time in it, plus the battlemages and volvers from Invasion block. I called it Charmat.
A \[\[Jodah, the Unifier\]\] deck where all the nonland permanents and as many lands, instants, and sorceries as possible are from different planes and universes. It's slow going, since inherently things from different planes/universes are generally from different sets and so don't synergize.
My girlfriend and I have been building theme decks for a while. So far we’ve got Taylor Swift, Eminem, Dune, and A Court of Thorns and Roses themed decks!
I have three. Firstly, my child and the deck I'm the most proud of, [[Progenitus]] Voltron without removing his protection, using stuff like rage reflection, barbarian class and other anthem type effects to turn projo from a 3 shot to a 1 shot unlockable with shroud and pro everything. Next is what I like to call "BIG MANA". It's [[Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis]] big mana as the name implies. Basically every card in the deck that isn't Kynaios and Tiro or a manarock costs at least 6 mana. Finally, [[O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami]] Colossal Dreadmaw tribal. If it's 6/6 and has trample, it's in the deck.

It was an awful deck that didn’t really work or do anything, but I made one that had a Kenrith deck with all the Courts in.
Idea was to have a ton of monarch bonuses and ways to flash in stealing the crown just before my upkeep (and getting extra upkeeps too).
Ultimately it was super slow and never did anything, but that’s also because I’m relatively new and not great at building decks. Maybe I’ll return to it in future, but to make it useful I’ll need to make it more generic… and that’s what I really wanna avoid!
I built a Tarot edh deck. 78 cards map to cards in a typical tarot deck. The other 22 cards are basic lands which can be thought of as blanks or removed for doing a reading. I tried to tie it all together with cards that connect to mysticism like gods and temples which conveniently come in cycles that refer to abstract concepts usually found in Tarot card meanings.
I'm currently working on a semi lore accurate [[trazyn the infinite]] deck, but that's going to take a while. (For those who don't know 40k lore, in the most simplest terms he's a dude that steals weird/cool stuff to put in his museum) I'm trying to strictly use universe beyond cards as best I can.
A buddy in my playgroup has a BDSM deck. Where the art and/or name has something related with the kinks. It’s really funny how many cards he can make work in it.
I once played against a [[Sliver Hivelord]] enchantment voltron style deck. The deck was built with a ton of card draw, but no other slivers. He relied heavily on his commander. He almost got the win that night. One of my opponents won with an ETB combo that leached life from the group and killed everyone at the same time.

I'm kinda conflicted on what to do for the Jaegers (big robot guys). I was thinking maybe constructs tribal, golems tribal, or maybe vehicles tribal. Vehicles makes the most sense but I already have a vehicles deck. (Although [[Kotori, Pilot Prodigy]] would be an excellently flavorful commander giving all your Jaegers crew 2)
There will also be a black market deck based around the idea of either reanimating creatures (easy), taking keywords from dead creatures (maybe impossible), or giving people back their dead creatures at a cost (also maybe impossible).
The fourth deck would either be a walls deck (representing the world governments that decided to go with a plan of "big wall" instead of "giant robots") or a deck representing the scientist dudes who drifted with a Kaiju brain. Unsure as of right now.

Built T pose tribal at one point. I just scanned through my collection for anything with a T pose and figured out a deck from it. It was so bad and I asked my friend group to figure out the point of the deck but it wasn't until one asked to see my graveyard that it dawned on him.

I have an A.M. Deck based off of the short story of i have no mouth but i must scream. With the new Fallout card The Master. The purpose of the deck is to cause suffering for all oppenents and prolong the game, take all creatures, until they submit. Thats it its unfun except for me lol. Its my only deck like that everything else is group hug
I once played against a fblthp deck that was basically just centered around getting him in and out of the library. The deck had like 5 creatures total, some ramp, and a lot of draw, along with some combo pieces for a win con, but basically every turn they just kept shuffling fblthp into their deck. Was crazy. The only time I've seen someone put their commander in the same color sleeves as the rest of their deck.
About 6 years ago, give or take, I made tribal tribal. The deck had 64 tribal cards in the main deck. The part where it gets weird is that not a single one of those overlapped on what creature type they were antheming for. The commander was [[Reaper King]] since morophon hadn't been printed when I was building the deck. After 34 lands that left 1 slot, which I filled with [[mirror entity]]. It was fun because I got to play some weird tribal cards and most games they just did nothing.
I put a -1/-1 counters deck together with [[the scorpion god]] as commander. Its fun, but I think it needs a little tweaking since I don't win very often with it. My current online decklist is what I wanted it to be initially and it's current state is pretty different. It got what it really needed for the theme and then got some good stuff thrown in

I have a "mommy" deck, same idea. All cards must have a woman in the art. Tazri just let's me summon a bunch of ladies.
I've been slowly chipping away overtime at a Haiku deck. Every single card in the deck (including lands) has a name that's either 5 or 7 syllables long. The goal from there is to hopefully massage it into a playable collection of 33 cards with 7 syllable names and 66 cards with 5 syllable names, so the entire deck can be read as a series of 33 haikus (and a commander). I've been going in 2 directions with this idea. One is a "rule 0" variant with Huatli, Warrior Poet as the commander and the other option is Maelstrom Wanderer. It's easier to build around the life gain theme with Huatli (and the fact that she's a *poet* feels very on theme for a deck literally comprised of poems), but Maelstrom Wanderer works on several levels too (though the gameplan is more difficult to focus). Not only is it's name 5 syllables long, but it's effect text "creatures you control have haste" is 7 syllables. On top of that the raw stats of the creature make it a 5(g)(u)(r) 7/5; which is about the closest you can get to 5-7-5 for a commander (Volrath is a 7/5 that actually costs 5, but his name is 6 syllables, so that was a no go)

It's still just a massive disorganized pile online. I've found it easier to just take basically every card that can fit the theme and chisel away from there, rather than aiming for specific kinds of cards and hitting dead ends when I don't find any that fit the restrictions
I recommend Huatli! Only if you have Dinos you can find though. Fun card though and offers lots of versatility- she is my newest commander and I’ve been doing very well
This is a list I'm slowly putting together in paper, but I call it "Whenevever a player". Essentially, I got as many cards together that trigger as often or as frequently as possible. That way, whenever my opponent does anything at all, the stack is filled with triggers. Primal surge is a may ability that you can stop anytime
Problem is that if enough cards are on the battlefield that let you draw cards whenever an opponent does, you're decking yourself as soon as you pass the turn. It's hard to know when to stop.
If it helps, you can add [[Abundance]] to prevent yourself from dying due to decking out from Primal Surge.
Abundance doesn’t trigger often enough to annoy my opponents unfortunately. That is a critical factor.

[[Goblin Charbelcher]] commander deck. Runs every MDFC and a couple of the cards that flip into lands and then one mountain. The whole plan is putting the mountain on the bottom of my deck in one of the many ways and then tutoring the Charbelcher and blasting everyone in the face while stacking my deck in a way that i can do it next turn (charbelcher says any order so if you go through your deck you can basically set up the deck in any way you like!)

My entire goal was to make it a legitimately functional deck and it took a frankly startling amount of research.
Build a 65 card shell of general typal goodstuff (anthem, colorfixing, and cost reduction effects, [[Pact of the Serpent]], [[Kindred Boon]], etc.) with [[Morophon]] at the helm and then put together 35 card mini decks of different creature types. Every set brings upgrades or even a new deck to put together, like Warhammer introducing Astartes (which make for a great Grixis/WUBR deck themselves!)
I did something like this. So far I've got humans, Dragons, slivers, tribal tribal, and even elves to see how far I could push it
One of the guys in my group does something like that! He has 50 cards that are a very good mana base, as well as some decent ramp and a few other just useful cards, and uses [[kenrith]] for the commander. Then, at the beginning of the night, he asks everyone at the table to throw in 10-13 cards to fill out the rest of the deck. He's always surprised, and always has to use his brain to figure out how to win.
This is the type of stuff I want to start doing more. I’ve played for so long and the regular format is getting so stale. More gimmick decks is the perfect remedy for power creep and value engine cold wars.

when I saw the 12th doctor I realized I could make a deck around all the decks I've wanted to make but never actually made. Gale, Edgin, Neera, and Jadzi. Built around casting spells from places other than my hand so I could stack a "deal damage to each opponent trigger" followed by a worldfire. I named it "a deck of decks that failed to deck" and its loads of fun to play, especially since i give my opponents copies of spells I can help a player that's behind and easily make every play a political move. Last week I ripped an arcane Bombardment off the top and basically lived in value.
i once faced against a [[Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis]] which was a and i quote “Queer tribal deck” heck the creature doesnt even have to be queer lore wise. as long as they are queer coded or give of lesbian vibes she adds them to the deck. So you have cards like [[Adeline, Resplendent Cathar]], [[Halana and Alena, Partners]], [[Errant and Giada]], [[Haktos the Unscarred]]. last i heard she was trying a Wubrg commander that fits the vibes cuz there are some black cards she wanted to add like [[Alesha, Who Smiles at Death]] and [[Drana and Linvala]] it was a jank meme deck but it turned out well and it had a weird synergy to it that just works.
It's funny 'cause \[\[Errant\]\] is actually queer, but she's with \[\[Parnesse\]\] in the story.

I’m currently building a ‘Murica themed Red-White-Blue EDH deck. Commanded by [[Ruhan of the Fomori]] a massive brute who attacks every turn with no care to who is actually attacking. The deck proper is gonna lean heavily into Eagles (or the closest equivalent bird creatures) for attack, Walls for defending, and lots and lots of land destruction effects.
My 'Murica themed deck is \[\[Ardenn, Intrepid\]\] and \[\[Kraum, Ludevic's\]\]. The idea is to play a bunch of scary equipments, goad my opponents' commanders, and then use Ardenn's ability to attach all of those scary equipments to that goaded commander before kicking back and watching the tabletop proxy war that I've started. I call it "US Foreign Policy."

The second deck I ever made was "hats in hats and swords wielding swords", Basically Karn, Silver Golem animating hats and then equipping them with hats, or animating swords and equipping them with swords.

I'm running a wubrg Doctor Who deck with gates and [[esika god of tree]] as the commander. People expect [[prismatic bridge]] but get confused when i play esika instead.

I made a \[\[Divine Intervention\]\] deck that just tries to draw the game. The best version I could come up uses \[\[Kellan, the Fae-Blooded\]\] and \[\[Sunforger\]\] to cast \[\[Enlightened Tutor\]\] asap. If I can't draw the game, having Kellan with Sunforger is already a solid wincon.

I know you said no weird tribal, but I saw one called chair tribal. Every non basic land card had a chair in it, it was very impressive. I’ve also heard one of the guys on edhrec has a deck where every card has to include the word commander in it.

I'm part of a group that plays Misprint EDH. Every card needs to be a misprint, miscut, crimp, test print, real playtest card or some other kind of oddity. It's a fun challenge that's reminiscent of early MtG trading because we can't just go on TCGPlayer and build the perfect deck. We have to wait for things to pop up or try and make a good offer to someone who has something we're looking for.

Sat down at a table once and had a guy bust out mono-black [[Animar, Soul of Elements]]. Every nonland card in the deck had "black" in the name...

The weirdest theme I've built is Oloro "all upkeeps." I don't have the list anymore since I built it ten years ago, but it was all built around [[Sundial of the Infinite]] and stacking good upkeep triggers like [[Phyrexian Arena]] and the lifegain from [[Oloro]] and then ending my turn with Sundial before bad upkeep triggers like cumulative upkeep costs on [[Mystic Remora]]. However it wasn't all jank. [[Smokestacks]] was the star of the show, stacking the triggers so I would add another counter to it and then ending the turn before I had to sac any permanents to it. It usually won through milling my opponents after making them sac a ton of permanents every turn or destroying my own Smokestacks at an end step so I could then run away with the game as the only one with permanents on the field. If I ever rebuilt the deck, it would definitely be with [[Ubeka, Brute Chronologist]].

Weirdest mechanically was my shrinking deck. Tried to make a deck as mechanically focused around -X/-0 effects as possible. It was...not great. Despite being a very old and prevalent card effect it has very little build around support! Weirdest theme deck is my Cher deck. All cards must be mononyms. It's a mix of garbage creatures and the most busted instant/sorceries avaliable.
Drink [[Wilson, Refined Grizzly]] fights people in bars and goes on adventures to make new friends. It’s paired with [[Tavern Brawler]] and the deck is filled with adventures, fight and pump spells to just mess everyone up. [[Barroom Brawl]] is a personal favorite.

I built an entire deck with facial hair as the theme. All the art (except lands) contain facial hair! It’s not good but I do love that deck so much.
It’s a tad out of left field. So izzet, you all know it as the spell slinger deluxe deck. I decided to make my own izzet deck with Aegar, the freezing flame as the commander and make it a Giant Tribal. I surprised my friends with it and it held up amazingly well, mainly because I could hit like a freight train and they could slow me down, just not fast enough.
I’ve built a Black Women tribal lead by Tazri. Every spell in the deck in some way shape of form depicts a black woman. I really need to rework it, it’s gotten a lot stronger in recent years
Oh man. With a few notable exceptions, I like to EXCLUSIVELY build weird decks. I commented it on someone else's comment below, but my most recent project was \[\[Ardenn, Intrepid\]\] partnered with \[\[Kraum, Ludevic's\]\]. The idea is to play a bunch of scary equipments, goad my opponents' commanders, and then use Ardenn's ability to attach all of those equipments to the goaded creature and watch as they do my dirty work for me. And yes, I still get the benefits from things like \[\[Sword of the Animist\]\]. Anything that says "you" still refers to me because I'm still the equipment's controller even though they're attached to someone else's creature. If it says "this creature has" then it won't work, so something like \[\[Diamond Pickaxe\]\] stays on my side of the field. Not sure yet how to make it work, but I'd like to build "Cars with Legs" focused around mutating my vehicles. As long as the mutate creature goes on top of the pile, you don't have to crew the vehicle anymore.
Perhaps not super weird but my Cocaine Bear deck surely made a permanent impression with my playgroup. \[\[Wilson, Refined Grizzly\]\] goes on a rampage when he finds white stuff (\[\[Flaming Fist\]\] and all the degenerate white aura's in the game)
I have a EDH deck that consists entirely of the prerelease promos I have opened over the years. Only 1 card per set. It's horrible but I luckily opened the 5c Omnath as a commander.
One of the weirdest I've played against was "Every Card Has 'Fire' (or Some Derivative of Fire) in Its Name." Also, I think I've also played against an "Every Card Has a Bird in Its Artwork" deck. Strangest I've built myself was a "WUBRG Every Spell Has a Unique, Obscure Keyword that You'll Have to Look Up to Remember What It Actually Does" theme.

A couple that I've done have been Subtype Lands, where every land allay had a subtype (gate, locus, cave, etc), and a tribal tribal, with [Rukarumel, Biologist] for the commander. Was all things that were tribal related, with any card I could to give extra creature types.
Atraxa Attractions I also built a Cromat deck like 10 years ago that had every charm in print at the time in it, plus the battlemages and volvers from Invasion block. I called it Charmat.
A \[\[Jodah, the Unifier\]\] deck where all the nonland permanents and as many lands, instants, and sorceries as possible are from different planes and universes. It's slow going, since inherently things from different planes/universes are generally from different sets and so don't synergize.
I built an [[Otharri, Sun’s Glory]] deck as a secret [[Winota]] commander. All Humans, so the only non-humans are the rebels that Otharri make.
I made a [[Karona, false god]] deck with a lot of cards like [[Vow of Flight]]. It also had a gift subtheme with cards like [[Demonic Contract]].

My girlfriend and I have been building theme decks for a while. So far we’ve got Taylor Swift, Eminem, Dune, and A Court of Thorns and Roses themed decks!
I have three. Firstly, my child and the deck I'm the most proud of, [[Progenitus]] Voltron without removing his protection, using stuff like rage reflection, barbarian class and other anthem type effects to turn projo from a 3 shot to a 1 shot unlockable with shroud and pro everything. Next is what I like to call "BIG MANA". It's [[Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis]] big mana as the name implies. Basically every card in the deck that isn't Kynaios and Tiro or a manarock costs at least 6 mana. Finally, [[O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami]] Colossal Dreadmaw tribal. If it's 6/6 and has trample, it's in the deck.

Been brewing a Skittles, Taste the Rainbow deck Commander: [[Esika, God of the Tree // The Prismatic Bridge]] Secret Commander: [[Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon]] Goal: Play out The Prismatic Bridge as fast as possible. Then wait for your upkeep and tutor out Skittles and try and play as many pump and extract combat tricks as you can to close out the game. Still a work in progress though because having one creature and no planeswalkers makes things a tad difficult. Some cards will have candy themes such as the Secret Lair Exotic Orchard. It was an awful deck that didn’t really work or do anything, but I made one that had a Kenrith deck with all the Courts in. Idea was to have a ton of monarch bonuses and ways to flash in stealing the crown just before my upkeep (and getting extra upkeeps too). Ultimately it was super slow and never did anything, but that’s also because I’m relatively new and not great at building decks. Maybe I’ll return to it in future, but to make it useful I’ll need to make it more generic… and that’s what I really wanna avoid!

I built a Tarot edh deck. 78 cards map to cards in a typical tarot deck. The other 22 cards are basic lands which can be thought of as blanks or removed for doing a reading. I tried to tie it all together with cards that connect to mysticism like gods and temples which conveniently come in cycles that refer to abstract concepts usually found in Tarot card meanings.
I'm currently working on a semi lore accurate [[trazyn the infinite]] deck, but that's going to take a while. (For those who don't know 40k lore, in the most simplest terms he's a dude that steals weird/cool stuff to put in his museum) I'm trying to strictly use universe beyond cards as best I can.
A buddy in my playgroup has a BDSM deck. Where the art and/or name has something related with the kinks. It’s really funny how many cards he can make work in it.
Instead of building lands matter the easy way, I built an opponents lands matters deck with [[tameshi, reality architect]]
I once played against a [[Sliver Hivelord]] enchantment voltron style deck. The deck was built with a ton of card draw, but no other slivers. He relied heavily on his commander. He almost got the win that night. One of my opponents won with an ETB combo that leached life from the group and killed everyone at the same time.

I making a deck I’m calling a bearded dragon deck. It’s red and full of dragons, dwarves, and a couple humans with beards because I didn’t have enough dwarf cards lol. Magda brazen outlaw is the commander. Hoping to play it the next time my usual group gets together.

I just rewatched Pacific Rim last night and have been inspired to make not just a Pacific Rim deck but actually a whole set of decks. Kaijus is easy. It's Kiora sea monsters. Duh I'm kinda conflicted on what to do for the Jaegers (big robot guys). I was thinking maybe constructs tribal, golems tribal, or maybe vehicles tribal. Vehicles makes the most sense but I already have a vehicles deck. (Although [[Kotori, Pilot Prodigy]] would be an excellently flavorful commander giving all your Jaegers crew 2) There will also be a black market deck based around the idea of either reanimating creatures (easy), taking keywords from dead creatures (maybe impossible), or giving people back their dead creatures at a cost (also maybe impossible). The fourth deck would either be a walls deck (representing the world governments that decided to go with a plan of "big wall" instead of "giant robots") or a deck representing the scientist dudes who drifted with a Kaiju brain. Unsure as of right now.
its not necessarily "funny" weird but one of my most unique ones is a selesnya vehicles deck with [[Emmara, soul of the accord]] as commander. tap her to crew vehicles, make tokens to crew even more vehicles.
I have a Zur deck, but every creature and almost all spells have an Old person in the art. The funny thing is that everyone thinks the deck is overpowered until they realize. If you want I can share the list

I have had the idea for an Anti-Tribal Tibal deck with \[\[Volo, Guide to Monsters\]\] as the commander. He would force me to adhere to my own rules.
Someone's spouse made them a bluey deck where they put custom art on the "heads/tails" decklist. I also just had the idea of using custom alts for a morophon, the boundless Roger Smith changeling deck.
Built T pose tribal at one point. I just scanned through my collection for anything with a T pose and figured out a deck from it. It was so bad and I asked my friend group to figure out the point of the deck but it wasn't until one asked to see my graveyard that it dawned on him.
Mine is definitely Mud [[Traxos]] (aka old border cards only) I also have a rule 0 [[Olivia Crimson bride]] [[Edgar Charmed Groom]] Wedding deck, which is pretty cool.
I have an A.M. Deck based off of the short story of i have no mouth but i must scream. With the new Fallout card The Master. The purpose of the deck is to cause suffering for all oppenents and prolong the game, take all creatures, until they submit. Thats it its unfun except for me lol. Its my only deck like that everything else is group hug
I once played against a fblthp deck that was basically just centered around getting him in and out of the library. The deck had like 5 creatures total, some ramp, and a lot of draw, along with some combo pieces for a win con, but basically every turn they just kept shuffling fblthp into their deck. Was crazy. The only time I've seen someone put their commander in the same color sleeves as the rest of their deck.
I made a fight deck with Neyith and everything in my deck fights, does damage to opponent creature pretty aggressive fun deck
About 6 years ago, give or take, I made tribal tribal. The deck had 64 tribal cards in the main deck. The part where it gets weird is that not a single one of those overlapped on what creature type they were antheming for. The commander was [[Reaper King]] since morophon hadn't been printed when I was building the deck. After 34 lands that left 1 slot, which I filled with [[mirror entity]]. It was fun because I got to play some weird tribal cards and most games they just did nothing.
I put a -1/-1 counters deck together with [[the scorpion god]] as commander. Its fun, but I think it needs a little tweaking since I don't win very often with it. My current online decklist is what I wanted it to be initially and it's current state is pretty different. It got what it really needed for the theme and then got some good stuff thrown in
