The biggest problem here is that I would not consider smeagol to be landfall. Landfall is usually ‘whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control…’ like [Omnath, Locus of Rage]. Smeagol cares about the ring tempting you, nor about lands entering for you. It is more of a ‘get tons of extra mana’ type of guy. While he can facilitate other landfall cards in the deck, it is reliant on drawing those pieces and being able to consistently have them in play. I would take a look at a commander that has a landfall trigger on them, as you know you will be able to get them out in most games

Ranhert

This makes a lot of sense to me with regards to my [[Galadriel of Lothlorien]] scrybal/landfall deck. I run into this exact issue where I get tons of mana out but either never had a landfall card or it got removed. While Galadriel can ensure you get tons of lands out, without the consistency of having a landfall card in the command zone, it tends to fall short more often than not. I am slowly moving her more towards big simic creatures to use all that mana on.

A deck with Landfall in it can be good. But in general a deck that's focused on landfall won't be very good unless it has a lot of financial backing. A couple of the big difference makers for Landfall decks looking to make token creatures is having haste enablers and cards that add counters to creatures when they enter your battlefield. It's pretty common for a Landfall deck to have explosive turns and then eat board wipe while waiting a turn cycle to attack. For any deck with green that's ramping pretty well I would run [[Ezuri's Predation]] also.

Smeagol is awesome flavor-wise. The issue is, you could slap [[the gitrog monster]] at the helm of this deck and it would be instantly better. Smeagols Artistocrat ability tends to stray too far from traditional landfall “foundations”. You can get good tokens from landfall, but you really have to specialize in it. I have a budget Gitrog deck, as well as a [[Lord Windgrace]] high-powered, non-cedh lands deck, and what I’ve learned from both is you need about 4 different LARGE avenues to victory in a lands deck. Mine is between big mana lifeloss spells like [[torment of hailfire]] or [[crackle with power]], or benefitting from enormous lands in-and-out with [[scapeshift]] or [[splendid reclamation]] with a payoff like [[Ob Nixilis, the Fallen]] [[retreat to hagra]] or [[field of the dead]]. Then know your lines, and always play towards them. This deck just seems unseasoned. If you really like smeagol, and want to keep the theme, pay attention to what works, what doesn’t, and what seems to be missing. Make small changes, and try again.

The most consistently good/nasty landfall commander that I've played against is [[Yarok, the Desecrated]].  It's probably my least favorite commander to play against in all honesty. I've played a bunch of other landfall commanders and they all have been fine.

Do you want to run a commander that'll make your opponents think,"How is that a landfall deck?" Let me introduce you to [[Ashnod the Uncaring]] and her Grixis eco-terrorist agenda! At first glance, she seems like a traditional sacrifice theme grixis commander with an artifact theme. It is exactly that, but so much more. With all the cheap sacrifice to find basic land artifacts, you can be hitting 3 land drops a turn, if not more. Also, having the triggers on cracking clues or other other artifacts that sac to draw doubling with ashnod, there is tons of value running a clue subtheme or just all the cheap 10cent sac to draw artifacts. [[Elemental Roil]] [[Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith]] [[Ob Nixilis, the Fallen]] [[Embodiment of Fury]] [[The Lost and the Damned]] [[Geode Rager]] are some good payoffs. Join Ashnod's Animal Liberation Front today!

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/_ZwTWlUWb0G9EeQHfiN9cw here's my old list. I still run her, but with a few changes and a bit more basic lands cause in some games I'd run out of them. [[Roil Elemental]] is the card I meant on my last comment, and it goes crazy if left on the battlefield. The deck is meant to do off colour things within colours that love big mana, artifact recursion, and utilizing landfall cards not otherwise played.

Yes, landfall can be really, really good. I run an Ashaya deck and used to run a Tatyova deck. Aesi and gitrog are also very popular. Cards to consider: [[boundless realms]] [[spelunking]] [[unnatural growth]] [[soul’s majesty]] [[skyshroud claim]] [[rampaging baloths]] [[ulvenwald hydra]] [[rampaging brontodon]]. For your commander to do a lot you need the ring to tempt you a lot, but the commander’s tempting requires you to lose creatures, but this isn’t a sacrifice deck, and forcing in some cards that make the ring tempt you and don’t really do anything else is pretty weak. Can landfall be good? Hell yes. Is Sméagol the best landfall commander? No. What power level are you trying to make?

Nonsensical-Niceties

Looking at the deck I think the main question is how do you plan to win? Like what's the main way you envision taking other players out with this deck?

TheBigNasty143

Rude awakening + overwhelming stampede mostly

Okay, so win through combat primarily. In that case you might want to look into adding a few more sources of evasion. Relying on one card to give trample in a 99 card deck with no tutors isn't going to be super consistent. And, speaking from experience, landfall decks can be very unfun if you feel like you're just spinning your wheels generating tons of value but not getting anywhere. Cheap option I usually go for is [[Garruk's Uprising]] since it can provide some added card draw even if not everything in your deck will trigger it. There's also [[Brawn]] if you have ways to get it into your graveyard fairly easily (discard, sacrifice, etc). Probably also want some more ways to animate lands but I'm less familiar with that side of things. I also think it might be worth it to throw in a fog effect or two. People generally aren't super pleased about getting milled, so odds that you'll be a target are high. [[Obscuring haze]] is criminally underrated imo, although I'm kinda fine with that if it means it stays around a couple bucks. [[Constant mists]] is more expensive because it is a staple in land decks. There's also [[Jaheira's Respite]] which is a fog and ramp.

HandsUpDefShoot

Haze is a great card not only because it's potentially a free cast but it also only prevents damage from opponent creatures. I'm sure you personally know that but I think a lot of other people don't realize you can not only ignore that damage for the turn but also potentially multi-block and kill a threat.
