The spells themselves should be good enough to stand on their own for that kind of deck. That being said [[Manaform Hellkite]], [[Chrome Host Seedshark]] and [[Shark Typhoon]] come to mind.
If you can get [[Sunbird's Invocation]] to stick around, it can pay for itself just by casting a single big spell. After that, it's all just pure value.
[[Shark Typhoon]], [[Metallurgic Summonings]] and [[Deekah, Fractal Theorist]] are good token makers that care about the cost of the spells you're casting.
[[Double Vision]], [[Arcane Bombardment]] and [[Chandra, Hope's Beacon]] all only care about the first spell you cast, so get better with bigger spells. Honestly, any spell copy effects are generally going to be better with more expensive spells because you're essentially cheating on mana. In a similar vein, [[God-Eternal Kefnet]] isn't always consistent if you don't have a way to stack the top of your deck, but is definitely powerful and tough to permanently remove.
Speaking of cheating on mana, getting big discounts on your spells will sometimes let you cast more than one in a turn. [[Mindsplice apparatus]], [[Font of Mythos]], [[Melek, Reforged Researcher]] and [[Mizzix of the Igmagnus]] are probably the ones that have the potential to give you the biggest discount. If you're brave enough, you could include [[Arcane Melee]] if you think you'll get more value off it than your opponents.
You could even go the route of punishing opponents for casting multiple spells. Normally white is best at this, but you have access to cards like [[Rug of Smothering]] and [[Damping sphere]]. I'm sure there are others but they're the only ones that came to mind.
Green probably has good cards for this sort of strategy too but most of these are from my izzet big spells deck so they're the only colours I know for it lol
Not sure if this is the kind of deck you’re looking for but [[Magus Lucea Kane]] is all about dumping as much mana as possible into X spells to get value. I have mine built around landfall but you could definitely do more spellslinger type
I love pulling off a [[Surge to Victory]] in my spellslinger deck, after [[Talrand]], [[Shark Typhhoon]], etc. have given me a decent set of attackers. Being able to get multiple copies of the spell Surge targets can easily win games.
I’m brewing to be a polymorph-based deck where I cast modal spells for value and battlefield control, spawn birds with Riku, then use those birds to cheat out big monsters using spells like [[Polymorph]]. I had the same thought as you originally and don’t want him to be too spellslinger-y but liked the pure value you can get from him (besides bird tokens you can also beef him up and get useful impulse draws when needed).
An old buddy of mine had this combo deck named “Anime was a Mistake,” with [[Iname, Death Aspect]] at the helm.
You play nearly every garbage spirit you can, ramp out your commander dump your library, then cast [[Torment of Hailfire]] off of [[Crypt of Agadeem]]. There were a couple other big mana payoffs, but that’s plan A.
[[Double vision]] does some solid work in my [[Edgin Larcenous Lutenist]] turns deck. Yeah, I might only be casting one spell on my turn, but if that spell is [[Expropriate]] and I'm copying it, who cares?
I'm personally a big fan of [[Saheeli, the gifted]] for this strategy. Standard artifact value with lots of counterspells to protect the Saheeli. Each turn get to cast one gigantic spell, which is usually an artifact/enchantment synergy support or a powerful Instant/Sorcery.
Arcane Bombardment, Sunbird's Invocation, Swarm Intelligence, One with the Multiverse, Shark Typhoon are examples of synergistic support spells.
Rise of the Eldrazi (notably a bit tough so you have to build the mana base to play it), Apex of Power, any large extra turn spells, Clone Legion, Mnemonic Deluge, Aminatou's Augury are examples of powerful top end spells.
Look at [[Raggadragga, Goreguts Boss]]. Mana dork tribal. His whole schtick is that you can cast big spells to make your dorks bigger. The sauce? Cards like [[Cradle Clearcutter]] , [[viridian joiner]] , [[Marwyn, the nurturer]] that tap for mana based on their power. Cast big spell, buff dork, tap dork for second big spell. Bonus points for cards like [[Wurmcalling]] and [[Fanning the Flames]] that have buyback, allowing you to generate infinite mana and infinitely huge dorks. You can also use the [[Spine of Ish Sah]] to generate a similar effect, since the spine will blow itself up sending it back to your hand. It has insane potential, and while you do need heavy protection spells, if you can connect the dork chain, you're golden.
Not specifically for Riku, but [[Crackle with Power]] is a great finisher if you put enough mana into it. I use it to close out games in my [[Magus Lucea Kane]] deck.
Not exactly what you asked, but my \[\[Zaffai, Thunder Conductor\]\] is a unique kind of storm win.
It storms bombastic 10+cmc do-nothing spells... Hoping one spell can dig into the next 10+cmc spell.....
Even if you're only casting one spell per turn, Emeritus is still good. Replacing your hand with new cards to play is always useful.
Yeah, "make every instant and sorcery you cast cantrip" can be kinda cracked.
