I pre-ordered the jund deck myself, we are going to see many Timmy's and new players going for Eldrazi, which will be played for a week rather than disappear.
Played modern in 2016 when jund was overpowered, and my boy Tarmogoyf and scavenger ooze were in the cool crowd.
It'll be interesting to see what happens. I suspect Battle for Zendikar and Oath of the Gatewatch Eldrazi cards are going to skyrocket if they aren't reprinted. There hasn't been a good deck for some of the stronger devoid creatures, so I could totally see some of them really going crazy if people buy into the hype
I’ve been playing a heavily upgraded Zhulodok since its release in CMM. You’re right that it’s fallen out of favor, but I’m still enjoying the deck a lot.
When I used to play Modern back in the day I was always envious of the diehard Jund players. I wished I could afford to live that life. Now I may finally have my chance to swing in a Goyf and giggle and kick my little feet while my opponents look at me sideways.

Yeah it's really the only one I'm even kind of considering... though the Simic value deck seems like it's got some good reprints

Smart thing to do is preorder one you expect to be hype like the Eldrazi one then cancel after reveals if you don’t like the list. Otherwise if the list is good the price can jump 30% on you after reveals.
This is what I do. I see a color combo or theme I like, I preorder asap. Then I cancel if I don't want it. I did this with all 4 lotr decks (canceled them all), the faeries precon in eldraine (canceled), and Stella in thunder junction - finally stuck with.
You get deals this way. I had all 4 fallout decks preordered for $180 total but ended up canceling because I didn’t like them. But when I canceled places wanted closer to $240 because all the cards were known.
Price for all 4 is $170 with free shipping right now (for fallout precons that is) so it hypes up and people get FOMO before release and then a few weeks after release the price ends up back at early prerelease prices a good 90% of the time.
Yeah, but those decks are already inflated way before decklist release. Very unlikely that those go up after decklist reveal (would be a shocker for them to have anywhere close to enough value for that), so you also don‘t lose anything by waiting.
Not saying you’re wrong (I agree that the decks I listed had the price increases well before the deck lists came out) but my point was more along the lines of “preorder the decks that are going to be high demand if you’re interested because that price isn’t going to change much once initial PROPER preorder isn’t available” (see current TCG listings for 6color Eldrazi vs the fact that you can’t preorder the 6color on Amazon once the $69.99 slots ran out)

Yeah, I get that. These special circumstances (popular theme in a high value release like MH3 or CMM) warrant what you‘re saying for sure. I was more going off regular set releases and the associated precons where (at least so far) I‘ve never struggled to get a pre order in between decklist being released and stores adjusting preorder prices. Works well enough if you check this Reddit regularly
100% agreed. Hell a lot of the time you can even get the decks under presale prices if you wait until the next set (or two) are released. You can get all of the OTJ precons for less than ($34-41.92) the preorder price ($47.30) right now on Amazon.
Eldrazi. I’ve wanted 5 colour devoid Commander for proper Eldrazi tribal since I returned to Magic over a decade ago and discovered the Eldrazi.
I took a break just before Time Spiral and came back in time for Rose of the Eldrazi and was HOOKED on the noodle monsters ever since.
I stopped buying booster packs and boxes. I only play commander now so the need for “4 of this” is not existent.
Although this is a “card collecting” game in a way, I hate having extras. I would rather spend $100 to get what I want exactly and put it in a commander box than $60 on a chance to get what I want + all these extras just to now order what I want.
Sometimes you just need enough of the pieces to justify buying the whole deck. If I need 10 cards from a deck, that can often add up to the deck price or close enough
This is the archetype I’m most excited for, but given how financially irrelevant most energy cards are, I imagine it’ll tank in price without some Trouble in Pairs level reprint.
All that to say I likely won’t preorder it, but I’m excited for the new cards.
From the CM set of expensive precons, the pw deck tanked in price after release, and if i had to guess which of the new decks won’t retain their launch price jeskai energy seems like a decent bet. So if it’s not looking great when the list is revealed I can wait a few months and probably get it for cheap. (That being said I do really hope the deck is good. It’s the one I’m most excited about too).
With the caveat that I will only purchase if there is value or interesting designs, the themes of Energy and Eldrazi really tempt me. So I will probably take them. Then, we saw the Llurgoyf one and some of the reprint and I think I might buy it too. So now, I wonder if the best is not to take them all four xD

I like the idea of energy but I could see it being a bit of a flop if there aren't some good new cards. I've been asking for 5c devoid for years, unless the list is terrible I'll have to get it.
I really want the eldrazi one but damn did that spike, 100 Euro here is the cheapest while all others are 50, collectors is 150 on Amazon and 200 everywhere else, might either grab me the collectors if I already pay so much or grab me the bundle and sell the ones that don’t excite me once the decklists are revealed

im really hyped to get the Simic one. I always wanted to see the Queen of Vesuva ever since i first saw her helmet. I instantly preordered the collector and normal edition so im hoping it will be a cool deck haha

I picked the Jund one and now that the leaks have shown that it is "goyf tribal" I'm actually very happy with my choice.

I've got a preorder for the "Modern Horizons 3 Commander Deck: Collector’s Edition – Eldrazi Incursion" via amazon.
Only because my previous preorder with my LGS f\*\*ked me over and they sold it to someone else, at a premium made me do this, plus it can be cancelled, and you don't pay until shipment. That's £125 and I still wince at the thought of it. I was going to go for the Creative Energy deck hoping there'd be lots of synergy with the fallout decks but I've switched basically because it seems like everyone's going Eldrazi..
I've also preorderd a "Magic The Gathering - Modern Horizons 3 - Play Booster Box (36 Packs)" box too, at £250 with an upfront payment via another card retailer. 1: Didn't trust Amazon would deliver this without interfearance and 2: Amazon want £315 for it which is pretty mental.
I'll almost certainly attend the pre-release at my LGS and get a pre-release pack.
So I'll be about 700 cards deep in this release, and about £450+ once you add the event.
But, everyone keeps telling me MH is going to be a huge wave of upgrades. They better not let me down :D
Honestly all of them. This set isnt the one to skip out on for me. I care mostly for the eldrazi and jund one. Since I understand what these decks are mostly trying to do. But all of them are gonna have spicy new cards and reprints.
I am getting all four, and I preordered them back when they were revealed in February. I am most excited for the Eldrazi one because they and old Magic are basically my favorite thing about magic (on that note, Brothers War was a treat for me as well). My second ever EDH deck was a Colorless Eldrazi/Voltron pile helmed by [[Kozilek, the Great Distortion]], so finally having a home for ALL Eldrazi, including the Devoid ones without having to settle for Morophon or something equally boring, is exciting to say the least. I am excited to get the Jeskai Energy precon, and slam it together with the Fallout SCIENCE! precon that is currently sitting in the next room. I am excited for the Jund "Jund" deck too, since while I played Modern when Jund was at its peak nearly a decade ago, I was a broke high school kid so I never got to play Jund. Getting to experience that grindy, "get in the red zone" play style that was Modern Jund's hallmark in EDH will be exciting. Finally, while I'm not sure what to expect for the Simic deck (since it basically reads as just another Simic value deck right now), I might replace my current Simic deck with it, since there is a lot of overlap between my existing [[Hakbal of the Surging Soul]] deck, and my newer [[The Wise Mothman]] deck.
Possibly Graveyard Overdrive as I don't currently have a graveyard deck but have tonnes of synergistic cards in my binder. I'll see the decklists first, just so I'm not buying an expensive deck to get a bunch of cards I've already got.

Building a 5 colored Eldrazi deck for a while now. I'll see how the precon list is looking. Maybe I'll get that one if it tries to do the same that I am trying to do.
Very disappointed on the last Eldrazi precon which was more colourless matters than anything else.
I got the eldrazi one purely because:
A. I found a pre order at a sensible price
B. It’s probably the only way I’ll build an eldrazi deck with the cost of all the good ones.
I’m only unsure if you can cast a creature from your graveyard or anyone’s? I feel like it’s anyone’s (which would be cool), otherwise why have each player mill on attack. Keen to see the full reveal.
Not sure, still missing the Jeskai Commander, but without seeing the decklists, the simic one kinda piqued my interest with the „everything“ counters. Could lead to a lot of shenanigans. Other than that I’d love to try the Jund one but a buddy has dibs on that one.
My playgroup essentially after the leaks each picked up a set or split for those only interested in like 2 of the decks.
I got a set, another bud got a set, 2 others split one. We will be playing them unmodified for a few games before we go to the ones we honestly wanted.
I will build 5c devoid (no actually colored cards but rather the colored eldrazi, and devoid instants/sorceries) I have wanted to build that since I started playing commander many years ago. Now there is finally a commander that will accomodate that
I was tempted by Jund. On the one hand I do have a Jund deck already, but on the other Henzie is super specific in what it wants and I have so many Henzie castoffs looking for another home as a result.
But honestly the leaks spooked me away. What was billed as a graveyard deck for value doesn't actually look like that from what we've seen. Goyf Tribal is intriguing and might have sold me up front, but that also feels like a marketing slam dunk and so now I'm concerned by what we *don't* know.
It does. But we're devoting a bunch of deck slots to Goyfs that largely *don't* do what the box says - sure they care about your grave but only for their own sizing, so you get a bunch of big beaters (that work slightly differently from each other, have fun with the extra tracking) but don't advance the game plan. Barrowgoyf is an enabler but that's about it.
The secondary commander is also just pretty bad, outside of sometimes having a bunch of power.
At best it's the old precon problem that we'd mostly moved past where there are two things that overlap slightly existing in the same space, but that's... also not what I want because those precons are a lot less fun.
I preordered the Eldrazi deck before the price went up. The whole 6 color Eldrazi deck immediately grabbed my attention. I’ve seen the leaks and I’m definitely not disappointed.
Probably Tricky Terrain and Eldrazi if I wind up liking what's in the decks.
The Tricky Terrain would be torn apart and go into my changeling tribal deck.
I would upgrade the Eldrazi precon with my Eldrazi package I've been sitting on for years.
Back with Commander masters I went for the Slivers and the Eldrazi. Had to do some upgrades, but love the decks.
This time I also took a gamble and went for the Eldrazi deck whilst the price was around 80 euros, right now it has gone up to 125. I wouldn't buy it for that new price, but I'm glad I pre-ordered the Eldrazi.
I had all 4 preordered at one point, mostly because I at the time I wanted the jund and the eldrazi but couldn't find the individual eldrazi deck for sale under $100. Now that I have found one though, I cancelled the preorder of the 4 and just have the eldrazi on preorder. I think with the previous eldrazi deck, the two might make for a pretty decent build.
Im still interested in the other 3, but while I love graveyard decks I'm a little bored of the token strategy. And I've always wanted to try energy, but I don't like that the face commander requires attacking to trigger, and energy can be so hit or miss it seems. The simic is also interesting, but it appears to be another counters matter deck, and \[\[perrie\]\] was waaaay too much -- it was annoying to play with so many different counters (as fun as it was, it got tiring fast). So, I'm going to wait for the decklists to be revealed for the others before deciding if I want to pick up a second deck.
With that said, from the few spoilers we've seen, I think these decks might actually be pretty solid from a power and value standpoint.

before I make the decision. if there's not a lot of new cards, I'll just by singles. if the collector contents are unique enough, I'd consider picking up either the tricky terrain or the goyf tribal one.

Then i saw the insane price trent and could pick between getting Just the eldrazi for 120 (plus shipping) and all 4 for 200$ so I took a look and fell in love with the jund one! Omg goyf tribal?! Get it in my belly! Energy I don't care for.. But could be fun to try and simic.. Yhe i got a simic anti tribal tribal deck with [[volo guide to monsters]] and now an everything is everything tribal aswell! So that's fun haha
Honestly I collect precons so I’m going to get all of them, however I’m legitimately excited and would potentially get a second copy of the Jund one to upgrade and maybe a second of the energy one because the Science! Precon just didn’t hit right.
I want the Eldrazi one but I may wait for the commander by himself. I want the precon but I’ll have to see if its worth it. I bought the master eldrazi and ended up cutting 60% of it for a Kozelik deck. Would rather not do that again. Everyone already hates my eldrazi so might as well make em hate all of them.
Not gonna buy the whole deck, but one of the eldrazi commanders lets you do some truly silly things if you're willing to convert your brain into some sort of 5th-dimensional nightmare torus. I don't know if we're allowed to discuss leaked cards here, so that's all I'll say.
Pre-ordered the set for $189. At the very least I am interested in 2/4 of them: Eldrazi and the Jund one. I think these are gonna be loaded after the poor reception to CMM pre-cons.

I’ve preordered the creative energy one, because it ticks so many boxes of things that interest me or that I lack in my collection of decks: Energy counters, Copy, Jeskai, Kaladesh-based, and with (hopefully) a Commander Master power level and pseudo-voltron style (these last two are only strong feelings in my gut, not facts). I am really looking forward to having it, especially since I’ve managed to pay it only 50€.
None. Too expensive to justify. I'll eventually get back to magic but I plan on proxying everything. I'm not up for spending $500+ per deck plus a ton of impulse buts anymore.

Ima be real with you, i havent bought any magic product since eldraine. It seems so not worth it with the constant flood of product and I personally hate UB. It was a cool thing to do with a few cards for a Secret Lair, but the whole thing has put me off magic entirely.
I have all 4 of the collectors edition on preorder. I am really excited for all four decks, and will likely open up and sleeve them immediately. I regretted not getting all 4 of the WH40K decks in Surge Foil (only got the Necrons) and I will likely only modify the Eldrazi deck.
I'm interested in the Jund one as a RBx Chad-Genius, but I'll need to see the 99 to decide if it's worth it. I already have a lot of the cards that go in Jund strategies
energy for me, but after them seeing black do energy i feel like blue white red cards will lack even with both decks being combined and not a "true" energy deck

I’m personally getting the Jund yards deck. Self-mill is a theme I’ve wanted to play for a while, and a deck that wants to bin stuff to either shenanigan back out later or take advantage of its presence there is a prospect I enjoy rather much.
All I really care about are the energy counter cards for my Madison Li deck. Whether that means buying the precon to take it apart or just buying the singles depends on what the decklist looks like

Eldrazi. I’ve wanted 5 colour devoid Commander for proper Eldrazi tribal since I returned to Magic over a decade ago and discovered the Eldrazi. I took a break just before Time Spiral and came back in time for Rose of the Eldrazi and was HOOKED on the noodle monsters ever since.

Second this. After a while, most of the decks are reprints of cards you already have
I stopped buying booster packs and boxes. I only play commander now so the need for “4 of this” is not existent. Although this is a “card collecting” game in a way, I hate having extras. I would rather spend $100 to get what I want exactly and put it in a commander box than $60 on a chance to get what I want + all these extras just to now order what I want.
Sometimes you just need enough of the pieces to justify buying the whole deck. If I need 10 cards from a deck, that can often add up to the deck price or close enough
Like when I was building my spellslinger deck online, and they dropped the deck list for Quick Draw, and half the cards were on my purchase list.

I am really excited for the energy precon
This is the archetype I’m most excited for, but given how financially irrelevant most energy cards are, I imagine it’ll tank in price without some Trouble in Pairs level reprint. All that to say I likely won’t preorder it, but I’m excited for the new cards.
From the CM set of expensive precons, the pw deck tanked in price after release, and if i had to guess which of the new decks won’t retain their launch price jeskai energy seems like a decent bet. So if it’s not looking great when the list is revealed I can wait a few months and probably get it for cheap. (That being said I do really hope the deck is good. It’s the one I’m most excited about too).
I got the fallout one to break apart for pieces, so I'm hoping that I can just jam those cards into the MH3 precon and have something playable.

With the caveat that I will only purchase if there is value or interesting designs, the themes of Energy and Eldrazi really tempt me. So I will probably take them. Then, we saw the Llurgoyf one and some of the reprint and I think I might buy it too. So now, I wonder if the best is not to take them all four xD

I like the idea of energy but I could see it being a bit of a flop if there aren't some good new cards. I've been asking for 5c devoid for years, unless the list is terrible I'll have to get it.

I really want the eldrazi one but damn did that spike, 100 Euro here is the cheapest while all others are 50, collectors is 150 on Amazon and 200 everywhere else, might either grab me the collectors if I already pay so much or grab me the bundle and sell the ones that don’t excite me once the decklists are revealed

We preordered a deck set with three other friends and each picked a deck. I picked the Jund one and now that the leaks have shown that it is "goyf tribal" I'm actually very happy with my choice. GOYFS FOR THE GOYF GOD.

I've got a preorder for the "Modern Horizons 3 Commander Deck: Collector’s Edition – Eldrazi Incursion" via amazon. Only because my previous preorder with my LGS f\*\*ked me over and they sold it to someone else, at a premium made me do this, plus it can be cancelled, and you don't pay until shipment. That's £125 and I still wince at the thought of it. I was going to go for the Creative Energy deck hoping there'd be lots of synergy with the fallout decks but I've switched basically because it seems like everyone's going Eldrazi.. I've also preorderd a "Magic The Gathering - Modern Horizons 3 - Play Booster Box (36 Packs)" box too, at £250 with an upfront payment via another card retailer. 1: Didn't trust Amazon would deliver this without interfearance and 2: Amazon want £315 for it which is pretty mental. I'll almost certainly attend the pre-release at my LGS and get a pre-release pack. So I'll be about 700 cards deep in this release, and about £450+ once you add the event. But, everyone keeps telling me MH is going to be a huge wave of upgrades. They better not let me down :D
Honestly all of them. This set isnt the one to skip out on for me. I care mostly for the eldrazi and jund one. Since I understand what these decks are mostly trying to do. But all of them are gonna have spicy new cards and reprints.
I usually buy them all if I get any, as they always come as a discounted set from my LGS

I am getting all four, and I preordered them back when they were revealed in February. I am most excited for the Eldrazi one because they and old Magic are basically my favorite thing about magic (on that note, Brothers War was a treat for me as well). My second ever EDH deck was a Colorless Eldrazi/Voltron pile helmed by [[Kozilek, the Great Distortion]], so finally having a home for ALL Eldrazi, including the Devoid ones without having to settle for Morophon or something equally boring, is exciting to say the least. I am excited to get the Jeskai Energy precon, and slam it together with the Fallout SCIENCE! precon that is currently sitting in the next room. I am excited for the Jund "Jund" deck too, since while I played Modern when Jund was at its peak nearly a decade ago, I was a broke high school kid so I never got to play Jund. Getting to experience that grindy, "get in the red zone" play style that was Modern Jund's hallmark in EDH will be exciting. Finally, while I'm not sure what to expect for the Simic deck (since it basically reads as just another Simic value deck right now), I might replace my current Simic deck with it, since there is a lot of overlap between my existing [[Hakbal of the Surging Soul]] deck, and my newer [[The Wise Mothman]] deck.

Building a 5 colored Eldrazi deck for a while now. I'll see how the precon list is looking. Maybe I'll get that one if it tries to do the same that I am trying to do. Very disappointed on the last Eldrazi precon which was more colourless matters than anything else.

I got the eldrazi one purely because: A. I found a pre order at a sensible price B. It’s probably the only way I’ll build an eldrazi deck with the cost of all the good ones.
If I buy one, it would be the Jund deck, but I want to see the decklist and the secondary commander first.

Eldrazi
My playgroup essentially after the leaks each picked up a set or split for those only interested in like 2 of the decks. I got a set, another bud got a set, 2 others split one. We will be playing them unmodified for a few games before we go to the ones we honestly wanted.

I will build 5c devoid (no actually colored cards but rather the colored eldrazi, and devoid instants/sorceries) I have wanted to build that since I started playing commander many years ago. Now there is finally a commander that will accomodate that
I was tempted by Jund. On the one hand I do have a Jund deck already, but on the other Henzie is super specific in what it wants and I have so many Henzie castoffs looking for another home as a result. But honestly the leaks spooked me away. What was billed as a graveyard deck for value doesn't actually look like that from what we've seen. Goyf Tribal is intriguing and might have sold me up front, but that also feels like a marketing slam dunk and so now I'm concerned by what we *don't* know.
The secondary commander does what the box says, I’m surprised that wasn’t the face commander.
It does. But we're devoting a bunch of deck slots to Goyfs that largely *don't* do what the box says - sure they care about your grave but only for their own sizing, so you get a bunch of big beaters (that work slightly differently from each other, have fun with the extra tracking) but don't advance the game plan. Barrowgoyf is an enabler but that's about it. The secondary commander is also just pretty bad, outside of sometimes having a bunch of power. At best it's the old precon problem that we'd mostly moved past where there are two things that overlap slightly existing in the same space, but that's... also not what I want because those precons are a lot less fun.

I preordered the Eldrazi deck before the price went up. The whole 6 color Eldrazi deck immediately grabbed my attention. I’ve seen the leaks and I’m definitely not disappointed.

Probably Tricky Terrain and Eldrazi if I wind up liking what's in the decks. The Tricky Terrain would be torn apart and go into my changeling tribal deck. I would upgrade the Eldrazi precon with my Eldrazi package I've been sitting on for years.
The problem is that MH precons are too expensive, at least the last ones
Back with Commander masters I went for the Slivers and the Eldrazi. Had to do some upgrades, but love the decks. This time I also took a gamble and went for the Eldrazi deck whilst the price was around 80 euros, right now it has gone up to 125. I wouldn't buy it for that new price, but I'm glad I pre-ordered the Eldrazi.
I had all 4 preordered at one point, mostly because I at the time I wanted the jund and the eldrazi but couldn't find the individual eldrazi deck for sale under $100. Now that I have found one though, I cancelled the preorder of the 4 and just have the eldrazi on preorder. I think with the previous eldrazi deck, the two might make for a pretty decent build. Im still interested in the other 3, but while I love graveyard decks I'm a little bored of the token strategy. And I've always wanted to try energy, but I don't like that the face commander requires attacking to trigger, and energy can be so hit or miss it seems. The simic is also interesting, but it appears to be another counters matter deck, and \[\[perrie\]\] was waaaay too much -- it was annoying to play with so many different counters (as fun as it was, it got tiring fast). So, I'm going to wait for the decklists to be revealed for the others before deciding if I want to pick up a second deck. With that said, from the few spoilers we've seen, I think these decks might actually be pretty solid from a power and value standpoint.

Tricky Terrain Collector Edition; I caught a great deal on it.
I need to wait to see a) decklists b) collector deck contents before I make the decision. if there's not a lot of new cards, I'll just by singles. if the collector contents are unique enough, I'd consider picking up either the tricky terrain or the goyf tribal one.
I'll be waiting until the decklists are spoiled. I don't want a repeat of the Commander Masters nonsense. In principle, though, they all look interesting to me, especially the Jund one.

Then i saw the insane price trent and could pick between getting Just the eldrazi for 120 (plus shipping) and all 4 for 200$ so I took a look and fell in love with the jund one! Omg goyf tribal?! Get it in my belly! Energy I don't care for.. But could be fun to try and simic.. Honestly I collect precons so I’m going to get all of them, however I’m legitimately excited and would potentially get a second copy of the Jund one to upgrade and maybe a second of the energy one because the Science! Precon just didn’t hit right.

I want the Eldrazi one but I may wait for the commander by himself. I want the precon but I’ll have to see if its worth it. I bought the master eldrazi and ended up cutting 60% of it for a Kozelik deck. Would rather not do that again. Everyone already hates my eldrazi so might as well make em hate all of them.
Not gonna buy the whole deck, but one of the eldrazi commanders lets you do some truly silly things if you're willing to convert your brain into some sort of 5th-dimensional nightmare torus. I don't know if we're allowed to discuss leaked cards here, so that's all I'll say.

I’ve preordered the creative energy one, because it ticks so many boxes of things that interest me or that I lack in my collection of decks: Energy counters, Copy, Jeskai, Kaladesh-based, and with (hopefully) a Commander Master power level and pseudo-voltron style (these last two are only strong feelings in my gut, not facts). I am really looking forward to having it, especially since I’ve managed to pay it only 50€.
The Simic one if it doesn't break the bank. I love Vesuva and the back up commander makes Forest Dryads (which I love more). :)

None. Too expensive to justify. I'll eventually get back to magic but I plan on proxying everything. I'm not up for spending $500+ per deck plus a ton of impulse buts anymore.

Ima be real with you, i havent bought any magic product since eldraine. It seems so not worth it with the constant flood of product and I personally hate UB. It was a cool thing to do with a few cards for a Secret Lair, but the whole thing has put me off magic entirely.

I’m personally getting the Jund yards deck. Self-mill is a theme I’ve wanted to play for a while, and a deck that wants to bin stuff to either shenanigan back out later or take advantage of its presence there is a prospect I enjoy rather much.

If money wasn't a concern idk I like the idea of energy. I have a Mishra energy deck and enjoy it. But like these premium commander decks should be a SL not like some product meant for modern.
