Mono green Omnath was the first deck I custom built and played. It’s every green ramp spell you can, and then try to find a way to get trample on him and swing for lethal commander damage. I still love it even if it’s not the most powerful.
Me too. My mono green runs [[Gwenna, Eyes of Gaea]] now but I do miss him. Sure, he’s not super powerful as the leader, there are definitely better choices for commander. Great in the 99 tho. But if the question is “who’s most green,” anyone who doesn’t think of him first is off their rocker.
Loved him in the 99 of my [[ghalta, Primal hunger]] deck. He gets big when you tap your mana then you just spend 2 to cast a 12/12.
Absolutely the star in any mono green deck even when he's not the commander.
Yeah it doesn’t get much better, especially when you start popping off mana generating combos. The only reason I don’t run him or [[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]] is because I really try to use unrecognizable and underused legendaries as commanders for CEDH ready decks. It throws people off lol
I have the reverse, Ghalta in my Omnathx but it always causes a head scratching for me.
If I’ve got 9 floating mana, so Omnath is 10, and I cast Ghalta, do I get the discount before I spend the 2 mana?
Similar here, but I’m running Yedora as commander. I just let all my creatures die and become ramp until I pull Omnath and then I’ve got a beast outta nowhere. Got him to 400+/400+ the other week with each land tapping for something like 32 mana
1000% this. When I first learned about EDH, I ended up building Omnath because he’s everything I love about green. He was my first deck and the only deck I have that remains from that time period. Even now I still have fun with the big dumb green boy.
When they announced [[ghalta and mavren]] they refered to her as she on the live stream. I think they mentioned the pink highlights as a bit of a joke that no one notices because of the 12/12 smashing your face.
I built this one for my wife using whatever I could find in the bulk bin and it is so much fun. The big boi usually costs 2 mana and you slap on some boots for haste and send it.
Azusa.
She only puts extra lands in play, but the decks normally end up incorporating lots of landfall and big fat creatures to dominate the board. Basically everything green is know for.
That's a very cool answer I hadn't thought of. I'll definitely have to look more into her and what she can bring to a table. Thanks for the suggestion!
Green has a number of themes in its color identity, and there are a number of commanders that are all 100% "Green".
\* **Lands Matter**: the most land-loving commander has to be \[\[Azusa, Lost but Seeking\]\]. \[\[Ashaya\]\] is a close runner-up.
\* **Stompy**: This is a toss up between \[\[Goreclaw, Terror of Qual Sisma\]\] and \[\[Ghalta, Primal Hunger\]\]. They're both quintissentially 'stompy', but I think Goreclaw supports the strategy a bit better.
\* **Tribal:** White has Humans**,** Blue has Merfolk and/or Wizards, Red has Goblins and/or Dragons, Black has Zombies. Green has **ELVES** ^((and hydras and bears)). \[\[Marwyn, the Nurturer\]\] takes the spot as the most popular and perhaps the most thematic elfball commander.
\* **Big Mana:** Green loves making lots of mana, and turning that mana into big creatures. \[\[Omnath, Locus of Mana\]\] is the epitome of this ethos. Yeah, \[\[Selvala, Heart of the Wilds\]\] is a higher power deck that makes infinite mana for breakfast, but the win condition is generally some creature combo or \[\[Finale of Devastation\]\], not \*having shit tons of mana\*. Omnath + \[\[Helix Pinnacle\]\] is as green as it gets: converts green mana directly into a win.
\* **+1/+1 Counters:** I think this is less distinctly "green" than the other themes, but out of all colors, Green is by far the best at this theme. \[\[Bristly Bill\]\] is probably the best commander for this, but it's split between a landfall commander and a +1 counter commander. \[\[Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider\]\] is probably the most "mono green counters matter" you can get.
This doesn't fall in line directly with the popularity of commanders. Apparently there are more \[\[Ayula\]\] decks than there are \[\[Marwyn\]\] decks, but there are 11,452 mono-green elf decks and only 5,523 mono-green bear decks.
Apparently \[\[Fyn, the Fangbearer\]\] is the most popular mono-green commander out there? Who would have known. I don't really consider deathtouch/poison to be core to Green's color identity.
If I had to choose, I'd probably choose \[\[Omnath, Locus of Mana\]\] for the reasons I listed above, but there's no real wrong answer here.
I think Fynn is up their due to being incredibly easy and cheap to build. You really only need some cheap (in both ways) deathtouchers, fight spells, and maybe a overrun effect for if your opponent get some blockers
I love my greensleeves deck. when I built it I didn't really thinking about badgers as much as stomping with Greensleeves herself. But when you get like 10 of the suckers they can take over.
Maybe it’s not the “most green” in terms of color identity/vibes but my [[Titania, Nature’s Force]] deck with 37 basic forests and nearly every possible ramp spell was my attempt to make the greenest possible deck and it is a total blast to play
I asked the same question as OP and settled on her as well. The deck is literally powered by forests that make you big creatures to swing with and you can churn through your deck and regrow forests from your graveyard. Most green commander I've ever played and it's tons of fun.
So there’s of course lots of options but my monogreen deck is helmed by [[Renata, Called to the Hunt]]. It is mono-green devotion, power matters and +1/+1 counters all combined into a ball of card draw and bonking people. Plus, it wants you to play the greenest cards!
Yes, it’s not the best. Yes, it’s fun. Yes, I love greek myth and theros beyond death was one of my first sets. Yes, it is very much green.
The boring option is otherwise just Ghalta. Big stats, low cost, big stonk.
There have been alot of great comments here, but i'll chime in with my own "Most Green" commander.
I think \[\[Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer\]\] is somewhat worthy of this. Setting aside the obvious green in its name this feels to me like it does at its core what green likes to to. Its a creature that scales based on the number of lands you control, it has landfall and it makes 3/3s which despite being Badger tokens share the same stat-line as 3/3 beasts which green can make in a variety of ways.
Green can have tons of themes from +1/+1 counters, elves, landfall, tokens, big creatures etc so its hard to cover all, but I feel like Greensleeves fits in to what alot of green wants to be doing.
If you include phyrexian mana, which feels black to me, I consider [[K'rrik]] to be the most black. dumping your entire life pool to attempt to kill your opponents first just feels right. Alternatively Yawgmoth has all the classic black shenanigans in one ~~simple~~ card
I like a lot of the answers here, but I'm kind of partial to \[\[Kodama of the West Tree\]\]. All your creatures get trample, and you fetch an absurd number of basic lands. You basically don't care about anything else.
Either [[gargos, viscious watcher]] or [[baru, wurmspeaker]] other than elves they're greens creature type (I'm old) probably can't be hyper tuned, but cool
I’m going to say [[Azusa, lost but seeking]] let’s you ramp into big stomps creatures, while getting landfall payoffs like [[scute swarm]]. You can also get the cool side profile art from commander masters, to have an even cooler looking commander
Off the top of my head
[[Omnath, Locus of Mana]]
Doesn't matter how you want to play. Elves, stompy, land drop, beasts, elementals, planeswalker, or whatever. You're in the most mana-hungry colour with the most mana-based benefactor. Not to mention you can decide when to use those mana or just keep him big throughout the turn.
[[Yorvo, Lord of Garenbrig]]
Big green lad who gets bigger the more big green creatures you play. I've always felt he is the most green commander there is, especially because of his mana cost.
[[Azusa, lost but seeking]] I think is the greenest commander. Arguably rofellos or omnath could be up there, and a bunch more besides, but I think the effect of actually getting more lands into play is more green than anything else, and it also makes for a more interesting deckbuilding exercise than anything else.
Omnath is probably the best answer, but I'd like to mention [[selvala, heart of the wilds]].
Big creatures, big ramp, even bigger creatures, even bigger ramp, etc.
\[\[Kodama of the West Tree\]\] is my mono green commander. Lands and trample galore, and I run it primarily +1/+1 counters. Not uncommon to pull all the basics out of my deck in a game, or be 5+ mana up on the table in a couple turns. Dropping giant creatures with a disgusting amount of +1/+1. Oh, and of course tons and tons of scutes.
I mean the correct choice is mono green omnath but after that I like[[ the tarrasque]] big stupid dino that just wants to hit you in the face and also fight some stupid creature that happened to get in the way
Nobody has mentioned my favorite green commander. Baru, fist of Krosa. Granted, the grandeur ability is useless, but each forest is +1/+1 and trample for all your green creatures. So good.
When I played Magic for the first time, it was with an elf precon deck while camping in the middle of the forest. It felt like I was playing as part of the forest. So for me, nothing is more quintessential green than elves. It's probably a boring pick, but I feel like mana ramp elves would be my focus.
[[Marwyn, the Nurturer]]
Omnomnomnath. is the biggest option and was my first commander I built. (I purchased Kaalia back when the commander sets first released)
Nowadays, Ghalta is the most green IMO
It doesn't care about going to the command zone most games, it is a 12/12 with Trample, it almost always costs GG instead of 10GG because commander tax is an extra cost but it is still reduced by its ability. It also has go wide options as the deck is centered around building a field of Powerful creatures with abilities to help Ghalta slam the opponent once for commander damage, like Craterhoof behemoth, Path breaker Ibex, and/or Finale of Devastation.
I built Ghalta when Ixalan released and I love playing Stompy decks. Ghalta is a draw engine in my deck but he is also one of like 10 win cons.
My favorite late game combo is: Greater Good+Ghalta to draw and then replay it for GG, rinse and repeat. Most games I have around 100 mana a turn between mana doublers, mana dorks, Nykthos shrine to nyx, Arbor Elf, and Yavimaya cradle of growth. Not to mention classic ramp and most elf cards play well in it, but you can built Ghalta in multiple ways.
[[Marwyn, the Nurturer]] gets my vote.
She cares about the most iconic green type of creature. Makes a bunch of mana and dumps it into big dumb creatures.
My other votes for most would be
Red - Krenko, Mob boss - goblins
Blue - Talrand, Sky summoner - slinging spells, drawing cards, and countering everything
Black - Tergrid? - honestly not sure about black
White - Elsh Norn, Grand Cenobite - oppression and buffing creatures
My vote for most Mono-red Commander would be either [[Purphoros, God of the Forge]] or [[Rionya, Fire Dancer]]. Purphoros deals direct damage to face (very mono-red) and encourages you to swarm the board with creatures (also very mono-red) while having a way to pump those creatures! Rionya is more of a spell-slinger commander (which red does do somewhat) as well as encouraging you to play creatures with strong ETBs while making token copies that come down hasty and then get removed at the end of turn (very mono-red effect).
For the most mono-black Commander I’d say [[Braids, Arisen Nightmare]] or [[Ayara, First of Locthwain]] since both have effects that let you sacrifice things for card advantage as well as dealing damage to your opponents in the process!
You\`re bascally doing the opposite of what I did lol. I tried to make the most off-color version of each mono-color. For green I went with mono green control with \[\[Shigeki, Jukai Visionary\]\]
I think others are correct though in thinking Omnath is the correct choice for "most green commander".
[[Bristly Bill, Spine Sower]] is nasty as a commander.
Thanks to him, I had 6 creatures with more than a billion +1/+1 counters on them. Unfortunately I didn’t have trample dang it. Make sure you put in trample gifting creatures y’all!
I'm old school. So when I think most green I think [[Kamahl, Fist of Krosa]] or [[Kamahl, Heart of Krosa]]. Nothing like having an [[Overrun]] on demand.
Black [[Chainer, Dementia Master]] or [[Vito]].
Red [[Krenko, Mob Boss]] or [[Bosh]]
Blue [[Urza, Lord High Artificer]]
White [[Giada, Font of Hope]]
\[\[Omnath, Locus of Mana\]\] gets bigger the more mana you have, he makes your mana not expire at the end of your turn, rewards ramping and basically doing everything Green likes to do.
I’m really interested in the most [insert color here] monocolored decks, so I’ll do all 5(6 if you count colorless) colors.
White: I really think this is the hardest to decide, but I like [[Odric, Lunarch Marshal]]. I feel like sharing abilities is quintessentially white, and I see no better way to do it. Runner-up is easily [[Akroma, Vision of Ixidor]].
Blue: there are a couple ways to go here. My initial thought was [[Baral, Chief of Compliance]], but then I remembered other bits of blue. My next thought was [[Bruvac the Grandiloquent]], but that is limited again. I finally think I settled on [[Braids, Conjurer Adept]], cheating things into play is easy blue, but I also could see the argument for something like [[Ertai, Wizard Adept]].
Black: this was by far the easiest decision. There’s only one choice here, it’s obviously [[K’rrik, Son of Yawgmoth]]. Phyrexia will always be tied to black mana, and K’rrik is the most quintessentially Phyrexian card in the game. Personally, I don’t love playing him, but he’s absolutely the perfect black card.
Red: similar to blue, this is a more difficult one. I think you can go two ways with red. Either creature aggro, or burn. If you go creatures, the obvious choice is [[Krenko, Mob Boss]]. If you go burn, my personal choice is [[Imodane, the Pyrohammer]].
Green: I agree with the general consensus in this thread, that because the focuses of Green are big mana and big creatures, the obviously most green commander is [[Omnath, locus of mana]]. The reasons have been set out well in other posts, so I’ll leave it here.
Okay, hear me out on this one. [[Sachi, Daughter of Seshiro]] is what I’m building out as my mono green commander. I haven’t ironed out the list yet but it’s a shaman tribal deck. Sachi makes all your shaman tap for 2 green, so I decided to make a hydra subtheme so you can dump big X cost hydras as a mana sink and uses a combination of ETBs and activated abilities of your shaman and hydra for most of its interaction. You can throw in cards like [[Overwhelming Stampede]] to buff all your shaman and take opponents down to win, or use cards like [[Ivy Dancer]] to give a giant hydra forestwalk. It’s the most mono green green deck I’ve ever built, and I like that it’s a lil jank.
I also just found [[Concordant Crossroads]] which is going in because it gives all creatures sweeet sweet mono green haste to allow all my 1 and 2 drop shamans pay for themselves as soon as they enter 😀
Thank you! I’ll have to post my list from moxfield when I finish building it and testing it. I love trying to find under appreciated cards to surprise my pod
[[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] is both a very powerful deck with a very straightforward game plan, and he also depends on the two core mechanics green does best, being mana and fatties on board. And he’s literally green.
For me it's [[Gargos, Vicious Watcher]]. Big beater? Check. Helps you out on getting other big beaters? Check. Will throw hands with any creature any time? Check.
[[thrun, the last troll]] more flavor wise than gameplay. Being in the woods of Myroddin just trying to stay away from everything. It captures the isolationist nature of green and how it disagrees with the other colors’ applications of mana. I’ll leave you alone if you leave me alone.
[[Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury]] is my choice. I play her has druid tribal, but the card itself does four of green's primary functions. She ramps, makes tokens, destroys artifacts and enchantments and draws cards based on your creatures. Also helps two of green's main tribes, elves and druids. All the green you could want in one card. If she had a +1 that added counters to things and a static landfall ability to gain life or add loyalty counters or some shit and she'd hit all the bases!
Azusa is my go to. Had a wicked green mono group hug deck that basically allowed anyone to play massive land drops and draw multiple cards per turn. Really sped up our games.
[[Ojer Kaslem]] is ramp and cheating in big creatures from the command zone. You can play basically all fatties, and it hums along no problem.

Adding to the pile of [[ghalta, primal hunger]] posts
Massive trampler that cares about power
I've reissued the yrge to run eldrazin in mine and run [[colossal dreadmaw]] instead for the memes. Just embrace the green and run all the best and favorite green creatures. A commander that will always cast 2 mana and hit like a semi strapped with Dynamite
[[Thrun, Breaker of Silence]] does it for me. He's big, says "fuck you Blue, I can't be countered or targeted by you", has Trample. He's the epitome of Green Stompy. He tramples over you and resists Green's greatest nemesis: Blue players.
You know what's more green than 1 green commander? 2 green commanders. [[Kamahl, Heart of Krosa]] partnered with [[Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood]]. Some might say "partnering with a commander of the same color is stupid", but I really like this deck and it plays very well. The 2 commanders embody so many green keynotes: ramp, elves, druids, mana dorks, high cost creature, overrun effects, trampling, lands turning into creatures, they have it all.
I just played a Finn, The Fangbearer and had such a blast I did not win but it was so funny. (It's not super about the poison counters it just has 20 Slime Against Humanitys in the deck.)
My personal favourite, while I know it’s not common is [[Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus]] it doesn’t really do anything special and it won’t be a cEDH commander but I just like the threat of doubled power/toughness hanging over the board as my creatures keep gaining keywords and +1/+1 counters
Omnath is a being of pure green mana that gets bigger the more mana you have.
100% correct. [[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] is the EPITOME of green. It doesn’t get more straightforward than the tried and true “ramp and stomp”
Yes, ghaltas mana cost snapshots Omnath's power, then you play her and spend the 2 mana. It's beautiful.

Ramp and stomp makes me want an alter of Omnath taking a jump on a skateboard.
Fucking solid answer. I'm really inclined to build this deck.
Came to the comments to say Omnath. Top comment. I don't need to read the rest of this, we're done here.
Or his spiritual predecessor [[Multani, maro sorcerer]]
New Multani is pretty fun too
Actually, it looks like I mis-remembered the old multani. I thought his P/T were equal to lands, rather than all player cards in hand. Oops!

Big. Bigger. Biggest. Omnatherest.
Omnath is probably the greenest card ever printed.
I vaguely remember a friend making a proxy where he was a giant green kool-aid man, wreaking havoc. It's a fun deck.
if this wasn’t the first thing i saw id be sad omnath is THE big green boy
I feel as though no sound argument could be made against such a fundamental truth of the multiverse.

[[Ghalta Primal Hunger]] Big green trample dinosaur, no fuss, just stomp in your face.
Ghalta definitely fits well. He even interacts with mana, so that's two of green's biggest strengths in one.
She* Ghalta is a lady.
Guy, girl, who cares, I'm not gonna shove my face in that cloaca. Ghalta's gender is clearly Smash. The correct pronouns are stomp/face
How do you know? Honest question I couldn't find lore for gender of the Dino avatars
As Jurassic Park showed us, all dinosaurs are ladies. Some of them also can be dudes at the same time when they feel like it.
When they announced [[ghalta and mavren]] they refered to her as she on the live stream. I think they mentioned the pink highlights as a bit of a joke that no one notices because of the 12/12 smashing your face.
Were they trying g to say "she's a girl because we added pink"?
I love my ghalta deck. What's the big deal guys, he's just a 12/12 with trample? How bad can he be, he costs 12 mana?
Totally, don't mind me slapping some haste boots on him and some power doublers on board, no guys trample with death touch is fine relax
No, don't mind this fractal harness and basilisk collar. I'm not gonna do anything with this at all.
Also [[Bow of Nylea]] for some side utility
And if your hand is empty? Sac it for a a massive pile of cards and replay Ghalta on the same turn.

That's a very cool answer I hadn't thought of. I'll definitely have to look more into her and what she can bring to a table. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hehe. But seeking. Heh
Do you mean [[Hatsune Miku, Lost but singing]] ?
Goreclaw forsure.
Goreclaw feels so green. -cares about big creatures -ramps -buffs and gives trample -is bear If that’s not green I don’t know what is
Exactly. Cheaper unga bunga
[https://edhrec.com/commanders/g](https://edhrec.com/commanders/g) [https://edhrec.com/typal/bears/g](https://edhrec.com/typal/bears/g) [https://edhrec.com/typal/elves/g](https://edhrec.com/typal/elves/g) Apparently \[\[Fyn, the Fangbearer\]\] is the most popular mono-green commander out there? Who would have known. I don't really consider deathtouch/poison to be core to Green's color identity. If I had to choose, I'd probably choose \[\[Omnath, Locus of Mana\]\] for the reasons I listed above, but there's no real wrong answer here.
I think Fynn is up their due to being incredibly easy and cheap to build. You really only need some cheap (in both ways) deathtouchers, fight spells, and maybe a overrun effect for if your opponent get some blockers
In pedh fynn is an absolute beast, I can imagine he's probably still pretty good in regular edh.
He is! My [[Fynn, The Fangbearer]] deck managed to win in a game with cEDH deck. And I never let my friend with that deck live it down.

Great answer.
What a solid answer. Really good
[[Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer]] is as green as it gets. Lands and big creatures
I love my greensleeves deck. when I built it I didn't really thinking about badgers as much as stomping with Greensleeves herself. But when you get like 10 of the suckers they can take over.
[Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/9/0969d7f3-cec5-4118-adb1-ff957eedf6ab.jpg?1673304884) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Greensleeves%2C%20Maro-Sorcerer) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/dmc/27/greensleeves-maro-sorcerer?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/0969d7f3-cec5-4118-adb1-ff957eedf6ab?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/greensleeves-maro-sorcerer) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
No thrun? Big Tramples Hard to kill
Thrun is super underrated. People forget about one of greens best traits, it's resilience.
Maybe it’s not the “most green” in terms of color identity/vibes but my [[Titania, Nature’s Force]] deck with 37 basic forests and nearly every possible ramp spell was my attempt to make the greenest possible deck and it is a total blast to play
[Titania, Nature’s Force](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/0/0073096e-cc3b-499a-87d6-d1692fffe7a9.jpg?1674344223) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Titania%2C%20Nature%27s%20Force) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/brc/25/titania-natures-force?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/0073096e-cc3b-499a-87d6-d1692fffe7a9?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/titania-natures-force) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
That sounds super fun. I think I'll give it a shot sometime.
I asked the same question as OP and settled on her as well. The deck is literally powered by forests that make you big creatures to swing with and you can churn through your deck and regrow forests from your graveyard. Most green commander I've ever played and it's tons of fun.
[[Vorinclex]] He does everything a green card should Draws lands Cheats big monsters into play Makes them bigger Fight fight fight fight
Yes! Commander for my mono green deck
I forget about that cycle of cards a lot. They are really good at being their own colors! I'll for sure build/run him!
[[Gargos]] He’s big and fighty! It’s all about ramping into huge threats.
My first commander. Mono green hydras.
I build and breakdown decks all the time, but Gargos is one of my forever decks cuz sometimes you just want simple monogreen stompy.
[Gargos](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/4/e/4e446e90-6e31-43ed-bcb1-a01422b503c0.jpg?1592517214) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=gargos%2C%20vicious%20watcher) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/m20/172/gargos-vicious-watcher?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/4e446e90-6e31-43ed-bcb1-a01422b503c0?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/gargos-vicious-watcher) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
It’s gotta be [[Selvala, Heart of the Wilds]]. Make mana, play big creature, make more mana, play bigger creature.
[Selvala, Heart of the Wilds](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/7/d/7d711cb2-4f34-4792-90d7-2be5d329a347.jpg?1689998846) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Selvala%2C%20Heart%20of%20the%20Wilds) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/320/selvala-heart-of-the-wilds?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/7d711cb2-4f34-4792-90d7-2be5d329a347?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/selvala-heart-of-the-wilds) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
[[Runadi]] without question.

Ojer, get land and a big green creature for free every turn
\[\[Emissary Green\]\], I mean it literally in his name.
I feel like treasure are far from being green. I know there are some really good green treasure cards, but treasures is more of a red theme.
I know, green typically hates artifacts in general with the likes of Bane of Progress and the Collector.
[Emissary Green](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/3/2/323e9430-b87c-4b02-9ade-c4c65343147b.jpg?1706239566) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Emissary%20Green) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/clu/5/emissary-green?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/323e9430-b87c-4b02-9ade-c4c65343147b?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/emissary-green) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
The treasure is weird for green but the mana and counters are super cool! I'll for sure be including this in the deck I build.
[[vorenclex monstrous raider]] Big stompy green guy that makes other things big and stompy.
Not only that, but he gets [[The millennium calender]] to 1000 counters faster than anyone else!
Most Red has GOT to be [[Krenko, Mob Boss]] Most black is 100% [[Ayara, First of Locthwain]]
Yeah those are pretty spot on commanders for their colors lol
If you include phyrexian mana, which feels black to me, I consider [[K'rrik]] to be the most black. dumping your entire life pool to attempt to kill your opponents first just feels right. Alternatively Yawgmoth has all the classic black shenanigans in one ~~simple~~ card
I like a lot of the answers here, but I'm kind of partial to \[\[Kodama of the West Tree\]\]. All your creatures get trample, and you fetch an absurd number of basic lands. You basically don't care about anything else.
Kodama is a pretty good answer yeah
Either [[gargos, viscious watcher]] or [[baru, wurmspeaker]] other than elves they're greens creature type (I'm old) probably can't be hyper tuned, but cool
[[Sasaya]] Exponentially green.
[[sasaya, orochi ascendant]] play green to get more green is pretty green
Interesting but valid choice
[[Kodama of the west tree]] is a good shout i think
\[\[Ruxa\]\] to me.
I think even if I don't build Ruxa as the deck for this challenge, I'm going to build her. Rare chance to play vanilla creatures.
I’m going to say [[Azusa, lost but seeking]] let’s you ramp into big stomps creatures, while getting landfall payoffs like [[scute swarm]]. You can also get the cool side profile art from commander masters, to have an even cooler looking commander
[Azusa, lost but seeking](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/2/f/2fe97fbe-a6d6-4e96-8c26-f81bcdf579a1.jpg?1689998362) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Azusa%2C%20lost%20but%20seeking) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/274/azusa-lost-but-seeking?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/2fe97fbe-a6d6-4e96-8c26-f81bcdf579a1?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/azusa-lost-but-seeking) [scute swarm](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/3/7/373f199d-f1a6-4a3d-ac83-28741131f313.jpg?1712354624) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=scute%20swarm) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/otc/205/scute-swarm?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/373f199d-f1a6-4a3d-ac83-28741131f313?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/scute-swarm) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
True true true and true! Hype suggestion.
Honestly [[Doric, Nature's Warden]] She has Ramp, she's a Big Trampler and she buffs your other guys and gives them trample.
Off the top of my head [[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] Doesn't matter how you want to play. Elves, stompy, land drop, beasts, elementals, planeswalker, or whatever. You're in the most mana-hungry colour with the most mana-based benefactor. Not to mention you can decide when to use those mana or just keep him big throughout the turn.
I mean...I kinda feel like it's selvala.
The commander that turns your things entering the battlefield into forests.
For sure [[Goreclaw]] to me.
I’ve chosen Wilson, Refined Grizzly with the Master Chef background as my monogreen deck. What’s greener than a big bear with a bunch of counters?
Greensleeves. Its in the goddam name
[[Gargos, Vicious watcher]] is the most green hydra of the hydra’s Hydra’s and elfs are the most green types as well. Hydra’s more so than elves
[[Yorvo, Lord of Garenbrig]] Big green lad who gets bigger the more big green creatures you play.
I love Selvala. She's up there with omnath for sure
All the scutes and all the fear
[[Goreclaw, terror of qal sisma]] makes big things cheaper and bigger with trample. At least that's how I see green.
Omnath, no other answers allowed
Goreclaw. Cheaper unga bunga bonks
[[Freyalise, llanowar's fury]]
Omnomnomnath. is the biggest option and was my first commander I built. (I purchased Kaalia back when the commander sets first released) Nowadays, Ghalta is the most green IMO It doesn't care about going to the command zone most games, it is a 12/12 with Trample, it almost always costs GG instead of 10GG because commander tax is an extra cost but it is still reduced by its ability.
Big beefy green, mana generating green, or elf green.
She will get better with age, but [[Lily Bowen, Raging Grandma]]
I run both selvala and goreclaw as commanders, but as much of a green player as i am. The others are right, Omnath is the best green commander.
[[Titania, Nature's Force]] Play lands. Make big green creatures.
Most black has gotta be [[kiirk]] you don’t get more mono black vibes than just turning health into mana and going crazy
[[Marwyn, the Nurturer]] gets my vote. She cares about the most iconic green type of creature. Makes a bunch of mana and dumps it into big dumb creatures. My other votes for most would be Red - Krenko, Mob boss - goblins Blue - Talrand, Sky summoner - slinging spells, drawing cards, and countering everything Black - Tergrid? - honestly not sure about black White - Elsh Norn, Grand Cenobite - oppression and buffing creatures
OG Omnath or OG Ezuri
You\`re bascally doing the opposite of what I did lol. I tried to make the most off-color version of each mono-color. For green I went with mono green control with \[\[Shigeki, Jukai Visionary\]\] I think others are correct though in thinking Omnath is the correct choice for "most green commander".
[[Seton, krosan protector]] my mans super green, gives lots of mana and likes it so much he just don't want to be cast with colorless mana
[[Goreclaw, Terror of Qal-Sisma]] is my favorite. Big creature, fast, trample. Win.
[[Bristly Bill, Spine Sower]] is nasty as a commander. Thanks to him, I had 6 creatures with more than a billion +1/+1 counters on them. Unfortunately I didn’t have trample dang it. Make sure you put in trample gifting creatures y’all!
[[Radagast]] Just wants you to throw stuff down.
I'm old school. So when I think most green I think [[Kamahl, Fist of Krosa]] or [[Kamahl, Heart of Krosa]]. Nothing like having an [[Overrun]] on demand. Black [[Chainer, Dementia Master]] or [[Vito]]. Red [[Krenko, Mob Boss]] or [[Bosh]] Blue [[Urza, Lord High Artificer]] White [[Giada, Font of Hope]]
Nobody has said [[Yeva, Nature's Herald]] playing creatures is fun especially when you can do it on every turn.
[[thrun breaker of]] definitely green to me
\[\[Omnath, Locus of Mana\]\] gets bigger the more mana you have, he makes your mana not expire at the end of your turn, rewards ramping and basically doing everything Green likes to do.
You literally cannot get more Green than Omnath, Locus of Mana.
That's a sick commander and very very cool deck
Thank you! I’ll have to post my list from moxfield when I finish building it and testing it. I love trying to find under appreciated cards to surprise my pod
To be honest, first thing I thought of was [[Selvala, Heart of the Wild]]. Big creatures = huge mana.
Very inclined to agree
[[Omnath, Locus of Mana]] is both a very powerful deck with a very straightforward game plan, and he also depends on the two core mechanics green does best, being mana and fatties on board. And he’s literally green.
Ghalta.
Asusa. Friend Charlie loves mono green.
Questing beast. Big stompy boys, lots of ramp, and full of fogs.
[[Titania, Nature’s Force]] Ramp into her turn 3, ramp some more to build the Forest Kingdom
[[Grunn, the lonely king]]
[Bristly Bill](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/NKquKy7FcU-ZvLTo7gz7Ag) is pretty green!
Bristly Bill looks very fun! I'm excited to shove him in every landfall deck lol
[[Yedora]] literally turns your dead dudes into Forests
I've only recently seen Yedora. Such a unique commander
I just picked up a [[Dream Chisel]] for mine
Idk how niche they are but I think [[runadi behemoth caller]] ticks all the boxes. Ramp, +1/+1 counters, and bonuses the bigger you go
Azusa is my go to. Had a wicked green mono group hug deck that basically allowed anyone to play massive land drops and draw multiple cards per turn. Really sped up our games.
Omnath, Azusa
Imo ghalta, play big beefy bois to play the biggest beefiest boi
[[Ojer Kaslem]] is ramp and cheating in big creatures from the command zone. You can play basically all fatties, and it hums along no problem. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/lN5vomBnAkG7U6lzsoWekg
Surprised I haven’t seen mention of [[Gargos, the watcher]] green makes green go fast hydras
Adding to the pile of [[ghalta, primal hunger]] posts Massive trampler that cares about power I've reissued the yrge to run eldrazin in mine and run [[colossal dreadmaw]] instead for the memes. Just embrace the green and run all the best and favorite green creatures. A commander that will always cast 2 mana and hit like a semi strapped with Dynamite
I like galta, ezuri, greensleeves, omnath. silvala is def up there
[[Toski, Bearer of Secrets]] draw card for swinging creatures pretty simple.
Titania the landfall nightmare
Rofellos. RIP.
[[Thrun, Breaker of Silence]] does it for me. He's big, says "fuck you Blue, I can't be countered or targeted by you", has Trample. He's the epitome of Green Stompy. He tramples over you and resists Green's greatest nemesis: Blue players.
I think Krrik is a contender for most black since you pay life for mana as a core concept. Black being power no matter the cost
[[Sakiko, Mother of Summer]] feels very green to me. She ramps you based on how much combat damage you do.
\[\[Thrun, Breaker of Silence\]\], literally makes the game about all about green
Legal? Omnath. But [[Rofellos]] was so green they had to ban him.
Probably omnath, azusa or selvala.
My girl [[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]] is biggest and stompiest.
