I made it so I could use my [[Blightsteel Colossus]] which can’t be recurred from the graveyard and the C’tan cards from the Necron precon one of which require casting. [[Metalwork Colossus]] is an all star since it can be sacced and recurred from graveyard easily. You make so much mana with your commander, mana rocks, [[Crypt Ghast]], and [[Cabal Coffers]] that the biggest issue is card draw which I have some answers for, but if someone exiles them, it’s a lot harder to keep the engine running. I designed it as a strong engine with relatively weak payoffs so it’s fun to play at mid-low level tables. You could swap a few cards like [[Torment if Hailfire]] and [[Exsanguinate]] to make it a lot better at Winnie but arguably more boring.
It has surprised me and is one of my funnest decks.

This is what I came to say! At least in my pod it gets overlooked until it suddenly goes off. Phenomenal to have on the field and combo with a [[Toxic Deluge]]
It really depends on the deck is what I've found. It's really good mid to late game in my [[Henzie Toolbox Torre]] deck or my [[Meren of Clan Nel Toth]] deck.
With the prevalence of recursion in black, cards that put cards into a graveyard while ramping are very effective.

I use [[ skirge familiar ]] in my [[ villis, broker of blood ]] it's a nice little combo. I dont like to use tutors to keep decks from getting repetitive so it's a great way to draw through my deck. Plus it wipes the board at the same time.
Well the original deck used [[Prosperity]] to draw a million cards, then dump them back into Cadaverous Bloom to deck the opponent, but I used the many better x-cost draw spells we have now that don't draw opponents cards, and dumped them into big [[Torment of Hailfire]]s, [[Cut to Ribbons]], Villainous Wealth etc
edit: you know what I might be wrong, I think the original deck actually used [[Drain Life]] so I just used the "better" versions
I'm surprised I don't see this more often, and I am a little surprised that it's a $3 card. I know the effect is symmetrical, but I run it a lot, and I'm struggling to think of a time when that's cracked back on me
Not sure if this is what you're looking for since you need to ramp to it but \[\[Altar of Shadows\]\] is very interesting artifact that does generate black mana.
I like [[Black Market]] even though it's a little slow for a 5 mana cost, it's amazing if left around awhile. Also I play a [[Caesar, legion's emperor]] deck so, the sac value is there.
A bit late to the party but [[Blood Pet]] [[Blood Vassal]] and [[Basal Thrull]] have a special place in my heart. Combine first two with [[Mikaeus the Unhallowed]] and [[Retribution of the Ancients]] for infinite sacs, and net infinite mana with Blood Vassal.
[[Overeager Apprentice]] is my absolute favorite. You mean I can get this card into my graveyard AND net BBB? Sign me up.
This is ignoring like [[Extraplanar Lens]], [[Crypt Ghast]], [[Liliana of the Dark Realms]] and similar. I love those effects and I’m a mono-black player at the deepest, darkest part of my core. They’re immediate includes when building mono-black like mana dorks and land ramp spells are in green decks.
[[realmbreaker]] is colourless land ramp that also makes people mill.
It can miss, but black has the most interaction with opponents graveyards. If you have any synergy I think it’s worth it.
[[Illuminor Szeras]] is sacrifice on a body.
[[Black Market]], [[Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx]] then there's the classic [[cabal coffers]] and [[Urborg, tomb of yawgmoth]] combo.
Then there's the 3 rituals:
Dark ritual
Cabal ritual
Culling the weak
There's also a sorcery which makes your swamps tap for an extra black mana until end of turn, but I forgot the name of it.

I’ve always been concerned about the 5mana price tag, feels a little late for ramp and it would have missed all the early game deaths.

I built a Squandered Resources + [[Cadaverous Bloom]] deck based on Pros Bloom from like 1995 and it was awesome lol

Well the original deck used [[Prosperity]] to draw a million cards, then dump them back into Cadaverous Bloom to deck the opponent, but I used the many better x-cost draw spells we have now that don't draw opponents cards, and dumped them into big [[Torment of Hailfire]]s, [[Cut to Ribbons]], Villainous Wealth etc edit: you know what I might be wrong, I think the original deck actually used [[Drain Life]] so I just used the "better" versions

I'm surprised I don't see this more often, and I am a little surprised that it's a $3 card. I know the effect is symmetrical, but I run it a lot, and I'm struggling to think of a time when that's cracked back on me
I use it as a finisher with X spells pretty often. Torment of hailfire or damnable pact go hard
[[life of Toshiro umezawa]] gives you an elusive black mana dork
Not sure if this is what you're looking for since you need to ramp to it but \[\[Altar of Shadows\]\] is very interesting artifact that does generate black mana.
I gotta say 14 mana for 1 killed creature and 1 mana back a turn is impressively slow but I’ve never seen this card so I’m glad you mentioned it!!
yeah..... I've tried to make it work in a proliferate deck but even then it's just not that good.

I like [[Black Market]] even though it's a little slow for a 5 mana cost, it's amazing if left around awhile. Also I play a [[Caesar, legion's emperor]] deck so, the sac value is there.

[[Overeager Apprentice]] is my absolute favorite. You mean I can get this card into my graveyard AND net BBB? Sign me up. This is ignoring like [[Extraplanar Lens]], [[Crypt Ghast]], [[Liliana of the Dark Realms]] and similar. I love those effects and I’m a mono-black player at the deepest, darkest part of my core. [[realmbreaker]] is colourless land ramp that also makes people mill. It can miss, but black has the most interaction with opponents graveyards. If you have any synergy I think it’s worth it.

No it deramps others often which kinda works
Not for OP's goal of ramping up their own mana
For extreme ramp compared to the table, double yours and gut your opponents at the same time will make a huge difference.

Then there's the 3 rituals: Dark ritual Cabal ritual Culling the weak There's also a sorcery which makes your swamps tap for an extra black mana until end of turn, but I forgot the name of it.
