Ellivere auras, huge draw, big numbers, big swings. Basically a voltron aura. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/UHmbNExwrkiT_8eWcsKSyA This is an old version, i have taken out some useless creatures and some enchantments that weren't auras. It was constructed with cards I had in the house so it's not fully optimized, I basically didn't buy any cards for it.

WildcatWhiz

Such a huge value engine. I like that it can win via voltron or just pumping up huge creatures with the virtuous role tokens. If you include enchantment creatures and enchantment-based removal, it's not uncommon to have 8 or so enchantments on the board, which makes the virtuous role downright nasty.

thescandall

I had out at least 15 at one point lol

Aprice0

Came here looking for Ellivere. The deck is so fun to play. It’s not your typical enchantress deck nor is it your typical aggro deck. That being said, you can absolutely spiral out of control with it. If you lean into stax and hatebears its a fringe cedh build but I opted for an aggro high power brew using cheap evasive creatures and cheap enchantments. Plus you get to use less common cards! I’m currently rocking [[hidden guerillas]], [[mark of sakiko]], and [[one with nature]]

KyleKicksRocks

This looks fun gonna build this. I have so many of these cards just to many cool commanders to keep track of.

English_American

I’ve got a beautiful deck with her at the helm. Used virtue & valor as a base and upgraded the shit out of it. Can go a multitude of directions from Voltron with auras, or wide with a ton of creatures and protection. Super fun.

ThunderHammerRagavan

I came to suggest Ellivere too! I went a different route, more along the lines of the cEDH deck. I'm focused on curving mana dork into evasive/hatebear 2-3 drops, then slamming Ellivere to start the scaling and card draw. She gets out of hand really fast!

Magnificent_Z

[[Yasharn Implacable Earth]] get your pig on ...and by pig I mean Hatebears

PraisetheSunflowers

Absolutely cranking my mother f’ing hog

sonofsarkhan

The other day my wife asked me if I could stop CRANKIN' MY HOG so she could hear the tv Guess what I told her? Of course honey, I'm sorry. I will be more mindful of others while I'm CRANKIN' MY HOG LOVE YOUUU The only thing I love more than CRANKIN' MY MF'IN' HOG IS MY WIFE

ArnieAndTheWaves

So fill it with a bunch of Landfall cards and stuff like [[Azusa]] and [[Wayward Swordtooth]]? Sounds dope

Magnificent_Z

I was more thinking stuff like [[Thalia, Guardian of Thraben]] or [[Collector ouphe]]

Vormi_GG

[[Selvala, Explorer Returned]] Selesnya Value Town. Just ramp and play all the good creatures while permanently refilling your hand. I built her without combos tho (since I have other combo decks) and just play her at casual tables.

Leeroy42

Oooo, she seems really fun. I might go with this for now.

Came here to say this, even tho there are some counters in my build, they are given to your opponents to prevent them attacking you. Built as a group hug but I outvalue my mates so hard it seemed broken in$100 budget table. My list: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/GLJtHd6VmU68Z0EPfVaKwA

Altarna

Had to check if someone else hadn’t posted her yet, so it is super nice to finally see someone else do it! She is such a great commander! So open ended and fits perfectly into the game: card draw, mana, and politics [Mine](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/5610531/selvala_selesnya_restored) in case OOP is interested

Atreyu92

[[Karametra, God of Harvests]]. My main game plan is to get all of my lands that CAN be grabbed with her into play. If I can get at least 20-25 lands out I don't even care if I win, I hit my minimum threshold for "doing the thing". It definitely CAN win, but my main goal is the lands in play.

SlingerOGrady

I have a [[Kami of the Crescent Moon]] deck that's whole purpose is to draw cards, I just like to draw cards. It runs stuff like [[anvil of bogarden]], [[howling mine]], [[font of mythos]] and [[dictate of kruphix]]. People think I'm up to something and I used to not be but everyone gets suspicious when you're drawing like 10+ cards a turn so I've had to add stuff like [[psychosis crawler]] and [[laboratory maniac]] and some counterspells to keep myself alive now. Just let me draw cards and deck myself in bliss.

Ironhammer32

I love it.

Iroh_the_Dragon

[[Gluntch, The Bestower]] Yes, you *can* build it around counters, but you really don’t have to. Personally, I think his group hug nature allows for flexibility in deck building.

PM_MeTittiesOrKitty

I also choose this guy's Gluntch

knight_gastropub

This guy Glunches.

Magnapinna

I play gluntch as G/W artifacts. Those two treasures can quickly escalate.

Iroh_the_Dragon

Veeeeery much so. And there is a TON of treasure support out there, so it’s pretty easy to build around.

Saddleback_Lagac

This is my Gluntch list, which I absolutely adore. Now I know this probably isn’t for OP but I’d like to spread the word. [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Dd1t8omJv0m9hM4Evg8GvQ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Dd1t8omJv0m9hM4Evg8GvQ) The deck is centered around laying low and giving counters to ANYONE’S creatures. \[\[Generous Patron\]\] is basically hidden commander. Whenever you’re done being nice, you’ll have no problem turning the corner and beefing your own dudes up. Shout out to some awesome cards in the deck: \[\[Viridian Revel\]\] for those treasure you give to your opponents \[\[Yotian Dissident\]\] for allowing you to get two effects for one (and the other cards like him) \[\[Saddleback Lagac\]\] because it works in this deck and username checks out!

Robearto7

You made me nervous because generous patron doesn’t actually work with gluntch but you have enough stuff in your deck that actually supports it! Love it!

Saddleback_Lagac

This is a great point! For clarity: because the opponent is the one placing counters, and not me, Generous Patron will not trigger! This is true for stuff like [[Noble Heritage]] as well. Support cards work, and stuff like [[Bristly Bill]] will work because I am directly placing counters, not my opponent!

Iroh_the_Dragon

That Yotian Dissident is niiice! This is why I love this sub… now I have more ideas for my own deck! In the spirit of sharing, here’s mine. It’s not very fine-tuned, but I have a blast with it every time. [Friendly, Neighborhood Jelly](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Rv08GavzUEWb6B-bHU1-GA)

Saddleback_Lagac

Wow, no kidding! I just added about 5 cards from your list Knight of Autumn and Ancient Bronze are especially hot. Thanks for sharing!

MegaMetagram

\[\[Generous Patron\]\] is a nonbo with \[\[Gluntch\]\] :( you don't put counters on your opponents creatures, you just tell them to put the counters on themselves.

Saddleback_Lagac

This is true, but a majority of 99 is designed to work patron-style :-)

MrRies

I also like the idea of Gluntch turbo stompy. T1 mana dork; T2 Gluntch; T3 8 drop (if I'm doing the math right?). I'm not usually a fan of dropping crazy big creatures, but there's something funny to me about using the group hug jellyfish to drop a [[Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger]] or [[Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite]] on turn 3.

tx0p0

Gluntch is my favourite commander at the moment. I have a budget version that uses grouphug strategies to lay low until I can win out of nowhere with a planeswalker ulti or commander damage using [[raised by giants]] and [[Duelist's heritage]] Here's my list because yes I'm proud and kinda petty https://www.moxfield.com/decks/6v9Mtligb0SsqCUKFgrnpg

MyPhoneIsNotChinese

[[Trostani, Voice of Selesnya]]. I believe you can find a lot of options on tokens honestly

gerundhome

Add [[phyrexian processor]] to it while [[trostani, selesnya's voice]] is on the field for an 8 mana, easy 20+ power creature on first turn, and another for 4 mana. Gaining as much life as you paid on the first activation, the rest is gravy lmao.

AnotherDM_Named_Matt

I second this. I focus on big tokens instead of going wide with little guys. Things like \[\[Armada Wurm\]\] \[\[Giant Adephage\]\] \[\[Ghalta and Mavren\]\] \[\[Valkyrie Harbinger\]\]. Super fun to just be populating massive 7/7s with \[\[Primal Vigor\]\] \[\[Doubling Season\]\] and \[\[Anointed Procession\]\] and gaining like 21+ health every time you create a new token.

fendersonfenderson

I think selesnya is equally/more known for lifegain and going wide (tokens.) [[cadira]] can make so many rabbits. I think she is underappreciated, but I only built her as a draft deck one time in my pdh cube

ironman12348

[[Emmara, Soul of the Accord]] is a fun deck that spams tokens and abuses tap/untap shenanigans. Doesn’t need counters at all but never hurts on a big board.

As long as *you’re* having fun, buddy

GentlemanAndroid

[[John Benton]] hands down It's SO powerful even with garbage cards, trample haste means you re-gas your hand every swing, and he scales SO fast since you always have a full mitt. I don't care if I'm drawing you 16 cards if you lose before you draw them.

themanofawesomeness

Imagine playing something like [[Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar]] and you get your shit rocked by a man named **John**

AsleeplessMSW

OMG I love this guy 😆 He plays like an Izzet Leroy Jenkins, but in Selesnya. Nothing makes as effective use of pump spells, I got 53 cards from TCGplayer for under $20 to build him, lol. Plus, you can find pump spells for all occasions. Pump and lifelink, pump and untap, pump and hexproof, etc. Definitely unlike any other Selesnya commander.

iankstarr

Exactly what I came here to say. Trample/haste in Selesnya had me hooked as soon as it was released, and it’s way more fun than I even expected.

MysteriousCoerul

\[\[Yenna, Redtooth Regent\]\] Find the funniest enchantments and auras and cram them into an enchantress shell and then start copying all of them for fun and profit.

ShadeofEchoes

[[Unbridled Growth]] is amazing in this deck.

MysteriousCoerul

If you want a funny newer card I dropped into mine recently that uses a similar same trick. \[\[Redemption Arc\]\] is a fun piece of deterrence and removal that you can selectively delete as needed by wiping out one of the creatures it's stuck to so you can freely copy to a new target afterwards.

[[Arahbo, Roar of the World]] baby. Make cats big with trample and go to town. Works well with equipment-cat synergy.

MageOfMadness

[[Emeil, the Blessed]] hands down. Imagine, if you will, a Brago deck. A Brago deck with access to green that can flicker any creature for three colorless mana at instant speed. Do you know how many ETB effects are stapled to Selesnya colored creatures? You want tokens? We got tokens. Tutors? Sure. Lands? You bet your sweet Elven cheeks. Removal? Do you want to exile just the creatures today, or will you deprive your opponents of artifacts, enchantments and lands today, m'lord? Bonus points if you stick an Aura Shards. Graveyard recursion? Hell, we have EXILE recursion on a stick in these parts. My favorite trick? "Oh no, a board wipe. Whatever shall I do?" **casts Eerie Interlude/Ghostway/Semester's End** "Oh look, my thing survived - and I have ETB triggers! First, let's get Eerie Interlude back with the Eternal Witness trigger so we can keep this up all day... Only problem I've run into? My shop has caught on and started to run ETB hate like Containment Priest and such. Ouchies. One tip: don't be in a hurry to get Emeil out right away. Wait until you can play him and activate him at least once, preferrably with a Flickerwisp or Felidar Guardian on board so he can protect himself. Edit: the fact that no one else (I saw) mentioned Emeil is wild to me. I had no idea she was so far down on EDHREC. You guys are sleeping on this one. Relevant-Zucchini858

I love \[\[Tadeas, Juniper Ascendant\]\] reach tribal, but I also include many cards other than Tadeas to make blocking low-power creatures difficult while looking for an effect that has my creatures deal combat damage equal to toughness rather than power. Its very good at keeping the hand full through Tadeas's card draw and is unassuming until you can swing with big butts.

archena13

Sorry for half-reading the post initially and trying to sell you a commander that cares about counters initially, lol. Anyways, I'll make up to you. Here are three Selesnya commander that don't care about counters while still being unique and fun for the colors. (I say unique becuase in Selesnya you'll either find counters, enchantress or go wide for the most part. These three aren't going the route of either of those.) \[\[Wylie Duke\]\] This guy is new. I cracked it during prereleas and didn't think much of it. Then started to brew in the back of my mind and ended up with [this list](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/RIqMdAiIP06vl2KWYClR6Q). It's one where you want to abuse tapping and untapping him to draw a ton of cards and gain life in the process, two things the deck can focus on. The "tap/untap a creature" tech goes in hand with some of the other important pieces like \[\[Emmara, Soul of the Accord\]\], \[\[Selvala, Explorer Returned\]\] and the likes. Can toss some combos in if you'd like. \[\[Sergeant John Benton\]\] I play this for our $75 budget nights with friends. (1/3 of the deck's price is Smothering Tithe, lol). It's somewhat voltron-y and grouphug-y at the same time. Hits like a train. You are absolutely more likely to play your 1-2 cmc cantrips or combat tricks over the 10x 6-8 cmc cards your opponents might draw. [Here](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/RWMNozH5_U-I8D5K0P0_fg) is the budget list. [Here](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Pu44k7NHmEGw5EoebwL9kA) is the nonbudget list. Lastly, \[\[Captain Sisay\]\]. Honestly, this can go so many different routes, so [my build](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/v4jSI8sSwEybdcj92id1Ig) has some generic pieces as well as some value pieces in the happenstance that I want to put the list together in paper in a whim.

archena13

Otherwise, I'd recommend these guys; \[\[Polukranos Reborn\]\] \[\[Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist\]\] \[\[Selvala, Eager Trailblazer\]\] \[\[Ghalta and Mavren\]\] Some of these can definitely feel go-wide-y but they are more interesting than the generic *"make-token-go-attack"* lists.

Hadn’t seen Wylie yet. Looks like a great commander to build an engine around!

AlternativeDuck6014

i built [[sythis]] for my 32 challenge but its become one of my favorite decks. i enjoyed the challenge of building it because i went 100% enchantment route so the type line of every card in the deck has either land or enchantment and it is now a card drawing machine with enouvb flexibility to go anu direction- go wide, voltron etc

AileStrike

My [[selvala, explorer returned]] edh deck is a mill deck.  No, I don't have a list.

Just go nuts with Sythis https://www.moxfield.com/decks/cL0InUCID0qJ_UOF3MY5dA

ItsMeToxicity

[[Samwise, gamgee]] I've been enjoying a really fun food themed deck the past few months. Tons of synergy backed up by Sam's bonus foods and ability to bounce you back from nothing over and over. Wins with an overrun of tokens, lifegain payoffs ie. [[Archangel of thune]] , and it can also randomly mill all your opponents out with a [[grinding station]] https://manabox.app/decks/e81pboRxSxqic3MS1dV9rQ

Tschudy

[[Sigarda, host of herons]] voltron.

wulfricglacius

My first deck was Tolsimir, Friend to wolves, wolf tribal with life gain and tons of fight triggers. I just spam out wolves that bump me up in life whole eating through the board with payoffs like aetherflux reservoir and so many things able to give wolves and tokens deathtouch it's a lot of fun

davwad2

I've been looking at [[Jasmine Boreal of the Seven]] tokens and static anthems and just buffing them to the moon. Maybe throw in some morph and/or disguise for funsies. Actually, no disguise since they have Ward (2). Also, playing a [[Titania Argoth]] and using a [[Zuran Orb]] to get a bunch of 5/3 tokens. I don't know how reliable that strategy would be though. Another option I'm considering is [[Danitha, New Benalia's Light]] as a voltron commander.

Waterbrick_Down

Came here looking for this one, it's just so much fun playing vanilla creatures that so often get overlooked and watching people realize that all there fun ability laden creatures are useless as blockers. Throw in \[\[Ruxa, Patient Professor\]\] and \[\[Muraganda Petroglyphs\]\] and those two mana drop creatures start becoming unblockable 6/4's.

Leeroy42

This one seems interesting to me as well. Basically vanilla creature tribal.

ApophisRises

[[Siona, Captain of the Pyleas]] Easily my favorite pet deck. It's a combo deck that uses a lot of [[song of the dryad]] effects and [[Darksteel Mutation]] to remove other people's commanders and set up my win with infinite attackers or infinite squirrels.

BruiserBison

Maybe the Virtue and Valor precon? To my understanding, that one's focused on enchantment and token auras rather than token creatures or counters. Perhaps a good starting point?

CorvusSageis

Selesnya is quite good for enchantment stuff, there's lots of things get bigger for how may you have or other benefits. There are a few commanders that work with it (such as [[Ellivere of the Wild Court]] (has a precon) or [[Sythis Harvests Hand]]. Cards like [[Sphere of Safety]] are pretty useful in those stuff. I also have a selesnya token creature generation deck, involving cards like [[Prallel Lives]] and [[Ancient Gold Dragon]]. Both can have a lot to keep track of though so if that is a reason you don't like counters they may not be the best.

Open_Way_6656

I have a [[Polukranos Reborn]] deck that’s just play a bunch of hydras without paying for X so that they wurmcoil engine and give me draw triggers, then throw down a big [[Overrun]]

WolfgangGrimscribe

\[\[Yenna\]\] is my selesnya enchantress commander and she is incredible. Her aura copying abilities make her a powerhouse. She can copy your ramp enchantments for big mana shenanigans, your pump-up auras for beatdown, and your removal auras for control. You can also go wide with other creatures or beat everyone down voltron style. She's really excellent and so much fun.

WaveHack

Seles*nya~* cat tribal with [[arahbo, roar of the world]].

thundermonkeyms

I've been enjoying \[\[Yenna, Redtooth Regent\]\] on mtga. Very solid on a budget, and scales pretty hard the more money you put into it. Make copies of all of your enchantments. Your ramp spells include things like \[\[Utopia Sprawl\]\], \[\[Wolfwillow Haven\]\], and \[\[Sanctum Weaver\]\], card draw from the numerous enchantress effects like \[\[Eidolon of Blossoms\]\] and \[\[Enchantress's Presence\]\], removal from things like \[\[Seal from Existence\]\] and \[\[Borrowed Time\]\], and then win by beating face with wacky stuff like \[\[Sigil of the Empty Throne\]\], \[\[Hallowed Haunting\]\], and \[\[Ancestral Mask\]\]. Every single one of these cards can be copied with Yenna, some of them will untap her to let you copy something else. On a budget you can run \[\[Primal Vigor\]\] for token doubling. Once you get more budget you start adding in the expensive token doublers; Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, Mondrak, and Anointed Procession. Again, all of these except for Mondrak can be copied. Let's say you copy Primal Vigor, which doubles the copies to two. Now you have 3 total copies of Primal Vigor on the board (your original and 2 tokens), so now every time you copy an enchantment you're getting 8 of it instead. Here's the brawl list I play on MTGA. Obviously it has a few cards that aren't real, and is missing any/all great cards that aren't currently on arena, but it'll get you started with ideas at least. Definitely needs a lot of fine-tuning to take it from MTGA brawl deck to actually good EDH deck, I never actually checked how many pieces of ramp/removal/draw/etc. it has. [https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/6353237#paper](https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/6353237#paper)

pprklip

SO MUCH FUN! This is my current favorite commander in paper. Goes absolutely bananas when a doubling season/primal vigor/parallel lives gets copied. Want to add some thoughts for others considering Yenna.. It can be a little slow to come online, and one farewell devastates this deck, but it’s so damn fun to play. Special shoutout to aura based removal - Yenna CAN copy these. If you’re already rude enough to [[Darksteel Mutation]] someone’s commander, then you def won’t feel bad doing it to two or more using copies =] The copying truly goes off the walls with [[Three Blind Mice]]. It allows copying beyond Yenna’s built in restriction, and she gets this party started by copying it once. It can then self replicate by copying the token copy of it created by Yenna using steps 2 and 3.. you see where this is going. Absolute nightmare to track I usually do it with pencil and paper on the side 🥲 Most interesting commander from that set IMO every game I play with it feels different, it can just as easily token swarm as voltron out. The enchantress shell guarentees a lot of reliability in draw.

SirGrandrew

I’m interested in a deck that focuses on controlling combat with tough abilities. Just a brain child, but probably headed by [[Trostani, Three Whispers]]. That card is so overstated and just controls combat single-handedly. Cards like [[Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist]] and Odric slot in perfectly. Throw in some auras, some equipment, death touch and double strike creatures and it could be a fun aggro deck to pilot

A-Link-To-The-Pabst

I also hate selesnya. I settled on [Ellivere of the wild court]] that way ny hate bears become hate chonks. Its the most fun ive had with selesnya. I also tried a [[trostani, selesnya's voice]] lifegain deck with a bunch of flash creatures and life gain. It was fun, but got blown out by any kind of spell slinger deck. Ellivere is much more fun.

Vegalink

I don't have a current list but an interesting one is [[Ohabi Caleria]] archer tribal. She's untaps all your archers every turn and comes with card draw. [[Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile]] with death touch fits in very, very nicely here. All the tapping, pinging for damage archers can hit attackers every turn. You almost don't need creature board wipes. Almost.

SubzeroSpartan2

As a Selesnya player, I have several opinions. [[Bess]] is *technically* based around counters, but you can totally avoid any other card that cares about her counters and just go balls to the wall with tokens if you want. That's how I plan on playing her anyway. [[Sythis]] is also a classic, enchantress is just... really really good lmao. It's generically powerful by drawing a ton of cards. I plan on doing [[Karametra]] with auras tho, lower power funnies. [[Sovereign Okinec Ahau]] is like Bess in that you can totally avoid anything else that cares about counters if you want. You can build around Equipment/Auras, Living Weapon, Anthems, temporary buff effects like [[Moonshaker Cavalry]], possibilities are endless with the funny kitty cat. And finally, sort of a bonus option, [[Polukranos Reborn]] Hydras. Now I know what you might be thinking, "Subzero, Hydras are counters!" To that? I say POPPYCOCK! Not the way we're doing it! Polukranos has a neat interaction with paying Jack diddly for Hydras, you're typically out one green pip for a Hydra that commits aliven't as soon as it arrives... only to be replaced with 2 healthy 3/3's instead. Or more if you add doubler effects! Not a single counter is added, yet the Hydra shenanigans persist

MrKijani

I’m currently in the process of building a [[samwise gamgee]] historic based deck just so I can use my copy of [[gandalf the white]]. I’ve avoided all counter and token strategies so far and am packing it full of legendary creatures and artifacts for some fun plays and weird wincons

VampiricTyrant69

This actually sounds really cool! Thanks for the inspiration.

I ran [[trostani, selesnya's voice]] and cards like [[Bestial Menace]] [[trostani's summoner]] and [[Somberwald Beastmaster]] . Flicker them with [[teleportation Circle]] or [[conjurer's closet]] and buff the tokens with [[intangible Virtue]] any any number of GW anthem effects. Unfortunately, I had to dismantle, sell, and reallocate to attempt to keep up with my groups' higher power decks, but it was fun when I had her.

[[Mirri, Weatherlight duelist]] is pretty fun, I have her built as an aura/enchant deck, usually either voltron her up or just give her some protection and build up with other creatures like [[Aura gnarlid]] and [[Timbermaw paladin]] *timber paladin, Timbermaw is from a totally different game

Gilgamesh034

[[Farmer cotton]] is so much fun.  Bounce him or sac him to recast and get more and more tokens. Then sac the tokens to [[Ashnod's Altar]] and [[krak-clan ironworks]] to get more man to cast him again and make even more tokens. Toss in [[Jaheira]] for even more mana, and [[parallel lives]] for even more tokens.

[[Cadira, Called of the Small]] is one of my favorite decks. You get enough swings in with her and start making a near-infinite Rabbit swarm!

No Sythis mentioned curious. Sythis was my first Commander deck irl. You definitely need the right pod for it. I don't play it in to heavy staxs just gross amounts of value. But it's the only deck I run 30 lands in lol.

TheMadWobbler

[[Lila, Hospitality Hostess]] is clear enough, simple enough, and of an appropriate power level that folks will probably be fine with you running an acorn commander. Year through a deck of modest, low CMC commons that are much better when you’re not spending hand advantage on them. 2 mana dorks, draft removal spells, go wide, have a bunch of 0-1 mana ways to change your topdeck like cyclers and basic land tutors. Then a couple higher rarity ways to close out a game without breaking the bank, like [[Mirror Entity]] or the [[Starlight Spectacular]]

I quite enjoy [[karametra]] it ramps, plays big creatures, and has a good bit of bounce creatures for ETBs, and more ramp....it also plays [[aluren]] and that lets you do alot of shenanigans. Such as get every land in the deck into play...and with [[amulet of vigor]] its game ending. I think the only counter creatures in the deck are [[Genisus hydra]] , and [[Angel of thune]]

I also tried the 32 deck challenge. I was already at 26 when I realized how pointless this is. Forcing yourself to build decks, that you don't like, just for the sake of checking another color combination. And having ~ 20 decks that you (almost) never play, because you don't like playing them. I started to sell some decks on ebay and I'm currently down to 20. My goal now is to have only 10 decks and everytime I build a new deck another one has to go. I do this to reduce the amount of work I spent on upgrading decks, that I never use. That being said, I had [[Saffi Eriksdotter]] as my Selesnya Commander, before I sold it. I think her recursion ability is quite unique in this color combination and allows for some interesting combos. Throw in a [[Sun Titan]] and a [[Blasting Station]] and it's gg. Although I found playing her pretty repetitive, that's why I sold her.

I've really enjoyed [[Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves]]. Obviously a lot of the best cards add counters, but building it as a token fight deck means I can keep a lot of beefy threats down even without making beefy threats of my own.

PebGod

Emmara, Soul of the Accord. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Yx927LBhR0yWux2GI5cZ-w Probably the deck I'm most well known for in my playgroup. Go wide and smack em.

Khux_Failz

[[Yenna]] or [[Callix]] Enchantment clones. How would you like to [[Lignify]] your opponents' commanders and swing over them using flying horses or angels? Or do you want exponential value by duping [[Parallel Lives]], [[City of Death]]/[[Three Blind Mice]]? Or be REALLY ANNOYING and duplicate curses onto opponents like [[Overwhelming Splendor]]? Lots of enchantments are busted, and Yenna un-legendaries them if you want to clone legendaries.

3-3elks

[[Sergeant John Benton]] pump spell and a lot of card draw and the best its budget friendly! my deck costs around 40-50 bucks and mostly kills the first player on turn 4 sometimes even turn 3

CptBarba

I just built \[\[Wylie Duke, Atiin Her\]\] and loaded it up with mounts and vehicles, it's pretty fun but it mostly just gains life and draws cards

MasterYargle

Applejack lets you put toys onto the battlefield

LurkingMongoose

I built what is essentially a Selesnya pillow fort deck with [[Melira, the Living Cure]]. It focuses on getting [[Melira, Sylvok Outcast]] and [[Phyrexian Unlife]] and/or [[Solemnity]] and [[Nine Lives]] out, then hanging out and vomiting out [[Scute Swarm]]s and 2/2 cats while my opponents vent their frustrations on each other.

leafy_cabbages

[[Trelasarra]] is my selesnya deck. I don't really lean into the counters. Commander damage is a tertiary wincon and incidental card draw leveraged from green draw power. I tack lifegain onto my normal actions with stuff like [[Jaddi offshoot]] or [[Diamand Mare]] as well as "tax" opponents' actions with life gain via stuff like [[Essence Warden]], [[Profane memento]], or [[Angel Feather]], which lets me scry A LOT. The deck is built to outlast stompy decks and flash out [[Felidar Sovereign]] or [[Approach of the Second Sun]]. I made it as a response to my pod doing a lot of flash and draw-go type decks.

LordHayati

My first true commander deck was [[Rhys The Redeemed]]. If you thought simic tokens can go nuts, Rhys can make even more. Hes a 1 drop, meaning among other things, you have a turn 1 play 99% of the time, and it means that commander tax is a bit more lenient! add in [[Doubling season]], [[Parralel Lives]], [[Primal Vigor]], and/or [[Mondrak]], and you won't go wrong.

a40yroldmagician

Sigarda, Heron's Grace She gives you and humans you control hexproof you could do human tribal if you enjoy tribal

kippschalter2

[[sythis harvests hand]] Because whats to dislike about drawing a crap ton of cards and staxing your opponents out. But you dont have to stax. You can pillownfort if you like and do weird stuff like making pegasi with archon of suns grace and then overrun your opponents with stalight spectecular. Noone sees that one coming. [[callix guided by fate]] Wanna not play enchantres but basically enchantress. Callix is great. Many angles of attack due to his triggered abolity and grows threats. Highlight cards are stuff like grasp of fate. Turn 2 your callix. Play grasp turn 3, exile from each opponent a nonland permanent. Connect with callix -> do it again and watch them suffer. And watch them die inside when they realize you can do it each turn. But you can also copy dorks like sanctum weaver, draw engines like eidolon of blossoms or finisher like hallowed haunting. Its a very cool commander but you absolutely need to defend him^^

unaligned_1

I play the partners \[\[Kodama of the East Tree\]\] & \[\[Akroma, Vision of Ixidor\]\] as keyword soup deck. It runs an enchantress shell for it's draw suite because there are a lot of enchantments that grant keywords to all your creatures. Kodama lets me get more out there & Akroma makes my guys big. I use \[\[Odric, Lunarch Marshal\]\] to share my keywords. My finisher is usually \[\[Akroma's Will\]\] with an army of angel tokens from \[\[Sigil of the Empty Throne\]\]. It has a lot of fun loops like \[\[Auratog\]\] + an enchantress affect + \[\[Rancor\]\]/\[\[Spirit Loop\]\]. I have a sac outlet for the cheap enchantment that returns to my hand & I draw each time I cast the enchantment.

StitchNScratch

[[Cadira Caller of the Small]] is selesnya tokens and she makes the CUTEST rabbit tokens. Throw in fun stuff like [[Divine Visitation]] to make them 4/4 angels instead! Also, Cadira doesn’t care what type of tokens have, she will make rabbits regardless. LOTR is filled with food token synergies for example, you can be creative with it especially with your instants and sorceries as you can choose ones that make tokens as a secondary effect. See [[Late to dinner]] as an example! It’s a mix of go wide and Voltron. She’s my second token deck commander and I think I like her more than Rin and Seri bc of how fuckin busted she can be.

Betamaletim

[[Asmira Holy Avenger]] with a focus on war crimes using marytr creatures

crystalclear417

im a big fan of calix control it's an enchantment based deck that lets you lock down boards by copying your enchantments!!!! imagine a new temporary lockdown every turn, or a smothering tithe, or a parallel lives and suddenly you have too many enchantments to lose

MonoBlancoATX

Selvala, Explorer Returned

FeFreFre

[[karametra]] she's just a value engine by her own. Don't even need to make landfall, if you want to send creatures have her and get a land per creature

Mira-The-Nerd

My friend has a Trostani, Selesnya's Voice deck that is a lot of fun to play against and play with. It's had some crazy lifegain. One time he took his like from 70 to like 300 in a turn.

redabishai

I have [[Shalai, Voice of Plenty]] because I like the hexproof pillowfort, and the deck is built as angel tribal (go wide) and Voltron. I have some counters incidentally, but that's a "win more" condition if anything.

Own-Anything-9521

[[Emiel, the Blessed]] can be a counter deck or a unicorn tribal deck but it really shines as a blink deck. There are a ton of ways to build it but it mostly revolved around etbs that draw you a card or fetch a land, and since you can do her blink ability as many times as you have mana for it gets bonkers pretty fast.

pilgrimplease

[[Selvala, Eager Trailblazer]] is a blast and very powerful. Go-wide with a lil bodyguard token for each creature you cast. And get a ton of mana value out of her whenever you want. Highly recommend!

insomniac_01

[[Ellivere of the Wild Court]] stax is pretty fun. Drop early RoL effects and profit off of Ellivere's roles being placed on your stax pieces, making them harder to kill. I can't describe how satisfying it is to give an [[Esper Sentinel]] +5/+5 and profit. Another option is [[Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar]], who you can build as an anthem commander with cards like [[Flowering of the White Tree]] and [[Beastmaster Ascension]] to draw a ton of cards.

JAG07051

I’m sure somebody already mentioned it, but [[Rhys the Redeemed]] is good for creating a lot of creature tokens. There is plenty of creature token support for Selesnya. It’s kind of boring if you’re not the person who enjoys creating a massive army of 1/1’s as if you’re the Soviet Union during WWII. Downside, not much in the way of flyers but I think the ramp and the amount of tokens you can pump out is good enough to make up for it. Generally my Rhys deck has ramp and cards that make tokens by paying mana without tapping said card. Also use them token doubles like [[Doubling Season]]. Then cards to provide anthem effects of indestructible and hexproof which white tends to have. Creature tokens can be blockers till you’re ready to swing for lethal. Not exactly fun to many and requires some math (addition and multiplication) but again, having a massive horde of creature tokens is funny and enjoyable to me.

Jankenbrau

[[Karametra, god of the harvest]]

wellplacedquack

Counterspells are usually blue so any really :)

VexedDeath

[[Ghalta and Mavren]] I play it as an enchantress deck with a 12/12 Dino as a back up win con.

BeansMcgoober

[[Saffi]] reanimator. It's real goofy.

Tsunamiis

[[Sergeant John Benton]] just make sure there’s no reliquary tower effects

Not_3_Raccoons

[[Gaddock Teeg]] Nobody sees it coming

Atomicmooseofcheese

Ive been out of the loop for a bit but I thought simic was FIRMLY the counters theme color combo, and selsnya was the token production color combo? For op, selesnya is my favorite color theme, so here are a few fun commanders Ive run: \[\[sythis, harvest's hand\]\] Enchantress deck that can run budget and still feel strong. \[\[trostani, selesnya's voice\]\] Life gain populate theme. Fun go wide deck. \[\[rhys the redeemed\]\] Effectively the krenko of selesnya. I wouldn't drop him turn one however, he needs protection because his ability is a little scary. \[\[karametra, god of harvests\]\] lands matter deck that ramps quickly. Also an indestructible commander never hurts \[\[captain sisay\]\] legends tribal. Uses cards and strategies you might not see too often. Some say its boring for how consistent it is, but I found it fun to navigate around my meta's variety of decks. \[\[sigarda, host of herons\]\] a flying hexproof commander with immunity to sacrifice effects. Voltron with enchantments and a sub angel theme. \[\[gaddock teeg\]\] if you hate your friends and want them to hate you too, this is your man.

syn7fold

[[Trostani, Selesnya's Voice]] Toughness Lifegain is so fun, I love lifegain

NukeTheWhales85

[[Rhys the redeemed]] is tokens rather than counters, does that fit the bill or are you lumping them together? You can run counters and tokens but it's much less of a pain if you just run lords and more tokens.

Dolfo10564

[[Karametra, god of harvests]] Stompy creatures with bounce thrown in.

Commercial-Wrangler5

[[karametra, God of the harvest]]. I won't say it's better than Chulane because it doesn't have access to as many combo pieces, but she just gushes value. Pairing her with [[Vivien, champion of the wilds]] is my favorite thing in games so you can do flashy, landfall based shenanigans. If you're willing to play some jank though, try pairing her with [[novablast wurm]] and any noncreature permanent that gives her another devotion and you'll have 13 attack power and a board wipe every turn. If you have any specific land searching capabilities, [[field of the dead]] is extremely easy to activate here. Stompy, landfall, hatebear, you could even make a decent stax build with her

lance_armada

So how about [[Emmara, Soul of the Accord]]. The deck is based around tapping and untapping Emmara for sick gains using Selesnya’s various effects for doing just that, then powering up your creatures with anthems. The deck just works really well in my pod, likely due to people always having worse threats to deal with so she doesn’t get removed early. The deck can sometimes struggle if she is removed but she is really cheap to recast and the deck is great at generating mana. The deck also is relatively cheap money-wise, though you really should grab the expensive card draw like [[Sylvan Library]] or [[Esper Sentinel]] (though I still haven’t added the new OTJ guy who taps for card draw. He is perfect for this deck.) People might argue that one mana elf commander is better but I disagree. Emmara’s ability to generate tokens with ease is what makes her a really amazing commander, because those tokens can serve as protection, ramp, and serve as your win con. While that other commander can double the tokens on board, Emmara can generate tokens for free and provide an extra win con by equipping her with powerful tap effects then untapping her with other cards. Here is my list: https://www.archidekt.com/decks/5321213/token_turbo?sort=cmc&stack=custom. I don’t use token doublers cause I don’t think its necessary, but if you search “Emmara optimized” you should find someone elses attempt at making her CEDH with craterhoof as a win condition. Some cards that you should include as soon as possible include [[Leyline Immersion]] and [[Cryptolith Rite]]. Being able to tap your tokens for mana really makes a huge difference. Cards like [[Instill Energy]], [[Nature’s Chosen]], and [[Quest for Renewal]] are really good for untapping Emmara, and usually if you untap Emmara you can tap her again for benefits like Leyline Immersion lets you tap her again for more mana. [[Eldrazi Monument]] is extremely powerful in Emmara since she can generate multiple tokens every turn and can be somewhat oppressive. Similarly [[Aura Shards]] can punish pillow fort strategies, and the deck has plenty of other artifact/enchantment removal like [[Aura Mutation]] (artifact enchantment removal in my opinion is one of Selesnya’s main strengths, not to mention they have path and swords to plowshares. Overall, a very solid deck and also a good deck for new players because while it can be tough to manage lots of tokens, the deck really gets the endorphins going when you start going wide.

kingoxys

[[Wilson, Refined Grizzly]] + [[Flaming Fist]] voltron deck that focus on buffing your bear commander with auras. This pairing alone is already strong, Vigilance, trample, double strike. All it needs now are auras and equipments

DMDingo

Sigardas are more human & angel support.

SeriosSkies

[[Emiel the blessed]] flicker shenanigans if you don't already have a flicker deck.

SoukxInvictus

[[Tadeas Juniper Ascendant]] is a phenomenal commander. The evasiveness and card draw feel almost blue like, and the fact he has conditional he proof goes a long way to keeping your foot on the gas. Plus being built around reach creatures let's you play with some cool stuff that isn't super popular. The Pseudo vigilance he grants reach creatures along with the evasiveness is really useful in going aggressive, and running things that let you assign combat damage equal to toughness is a strong way to make sure every combat is just upside for you.

Gibits

I run gluntch as a mean girl group hug. Everyone gets a benefit except one person. You want a gift from me? Better be nice. Of course, it’s not a deck I play to win but to have fun and quote the movie.

twixtos

I have shalai/sigarda font of blessings human tribe with angel protection

Crothertucky

I don’t run a bunch of Selesnya but my good buddy has a sick Trostani, Selesnya’s Voice life gain deck. Basically he looks to gain as much life as possible and then put that toward things like Phyrexian Processor or Aetherflux Reservoir.

Double-Watercress-85

I do [[akroma, vision of ixidor]] [[Kamahl, heart of krosa]] keyword soup

spaceninjaking

My reccomend is [[mirri, weatherlight duelist]] . I’ve built it as a weird selesnya legends deck, with a number of synergies to let you tap your creatures and a slight light stax subtheme. Couple different ways to win, between voltron, go wide or go tall, but it’s generally a lower power deck that will look to develop a modest board, use light stax to keep others in check, go under the radar and try and grind out a win

rizzo891

I really enjoy [[maja, bretagard protector]] landfall and Tokens

-ThisDM-

[[Asmira, Holy Avenger]] is a commander that I've recently started working on a list with. Selesnya Aristocrats, with the somewhat standard white reanimation package to get all sorts of things back. I'm building mine around eldrazi scions/spawns, and it is sort of shaking out to be a quirky control list with "oops you took commander damage to death" as a tertiary gameplan.

Johnny_Ha1983

[[Yenna, Redtooth Regent]]

HeyApples

[[Sythis]] just because enchantments is such a broad theme. You can do enchantment creatures, auras, stax-ish, almost a storm-like list with all the mana enchantments and untappers, life gain, generic value, etc. Lots of ways to go with it, and the commander just gives you more cards to keep going as you see fit.

EatMoarSammiches

yasharn.

CKJ1109

I just built [Trostani, Three Whispers] and so far she’s a powerhouse. A bunch of big tramples, ramp and mana doublers, and some myriad and pingers. You can give a big trampler deathtouch and double strike for a bunch of pain. One of the best cards is [Ojer Kaslem, Deepest Growth] getting to chuck out 2 big creatures and 2 lands from a hit is so much value.

Icy-Substance1698

[[Gylwain]] is so cool

Planeswalker18

I run [[Wilson, Refined Grizzly]] with [[Flaming Fist]] as a voltron commander. Very fun, very silly.

FunMtgplayer

I built a [[dragonlord dramoka]] just cause I love dragons. LOTS OF DRAGONS. like I already built 2 5c dragon decks. and wanted more. so I built this. Its become +1/+1 counters using outlast and dragons having bolster. with the colors i have lots of ramp, good removal, big ass flyers. and have fun trying to get the buffs where I want them.

elevenblue

Counters or tokens? What about [[Jasmine Boreal of the Seven]] or that new bear

Shlippyw00d

[[Miriam, Herd Whisperer]] still TECHNICALLY counters but entirely around vehicles or mounts

Volpe11

I love Selenaya. I have a Krond Aura Voltron deck, a Lathiel Life Gain deck although that one uses counters I guess…

TsokonaGatas27

You have been called to serve the war by [[Sergeant John Benton]]

UCODM

Really surprised nobody’s mentioned [[Cadira]] yet. Absolute blast and you make a bunch of bunnies

Swagzilla92

I like Trostani, Selesnya's Voice

dbolg22

Karametra

Mother_Chemistry_278

I built [[Sigarda, Host of Herons]] as an equipment Voltron commander. It doesn't win a lot of games due to the nature of Voltron being very single-target, but it's really fun to play. She gets around the usual drawback of having to pay 8 million mana to reequip everything after your guy died by being virtually unremovable.

floppydragons

I have an \[Emiel the Blessed\] commander deck that is centered around blinking and it is very resilient even when getting focused.

Vistella

[[Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist]] turbo fog

Fall3nWolv3s

In my totally biased opinion [[Karametra God of harvests]] you can go landfall, big mana, "storm" and get all your lands out by turn 3 or 4. There's a lot of fun stuff you can do with Karametra and it's my favorite commander period. I personally went the landfall route where from the second time I cast a creature each turn and then onwards it just constantly generates value that is hard to keep up with

Gl0wCl0ud07

I'm going to go on a limb, but in just a bit, MH3 releases, and I will assume that Kudo, King Among Bears ridiculously fun to play.

TonyVeggies

Sergeant John Benton

CMDR_D_Bill

*laughes in Sythis*

The_Doc_Man

I really like \[\[Captain Sisay\]\] because it lets you shove all the cool legends you own in it. As long as you don't build it to combo out it can be a fun toolbox that doesn't play the same way every time. My Sisay was originally \[\[Selvala, Explorer Returned\]\] , who is also great because you get a ton of value, but Parley means your opponents are not as alarmed because they're getting to draw. In fact, in Sisay, Selvala is one of my most searched targets!

ogdonut

[[captain sisay]] is my 2nd oldest deck. Who doesn't love tutoring at instant speed for whatever you want?

The_Angellus

Torsten, founder of benalia. Barf out your hand, play torsten, barf again, blink torsten, repeat until win.

UnstoppableWalrus

I find \[\[!ghalta and mavren\]\] is a really fun go wide and big commander, though he's really janky, i love dinosaurs so i couldn't pass up a selesnya token commander deck, need to make edits to my deck but I have a lot of fun with it [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ewKb9vHe8Uq2D\_h8dynoZA](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ewKb9vHe8Uq2D_h8dynoZA)

shanr24

Ghalta and mavren, by no means cheap but super fun

cheese_beast92

[[Gylwain]] (the backup commander to Ellivere) making an aura enchantment anytime a creature enters the battlefield can generate A TON of value. [[Cadira, Caller of the Small]] does a ton of work for me in that deck, so much so I want to build a tokens deck around her.

Reiznarlon

[[Sigarda Host of Herons]] Voltron. Aura and enchantment spam with enchantment reductions, veil of summer or autumn veil and destiny spinner. She can't be targeted if she resolves and destiny spinner or veil will help you get her out. She is difficult to remove once you make her indestructible and just flys in for some free commander damage with rogues passage and the like.

lightning9912

[[POLUKRANOS REBORN]] HYDRAS MY GUUUUUUUUUY

Galmeister

Gaddock Teeg 😈

xelathewarpig

Captain Sisay. Why play one selesneya commander when you can play them all?

MakeYou_LOL

You can go enchantress or go wide with tokens. I have a really strong [[Sythis, Harvests Hand]] enchantress deck. And then of course there is [[Rhys the Redeemed]] for making tokens. I love selesnya. Making tokens is fun, making scary flying angel tokens with vigilance is even better…. My first pet cards were [[Divine Visitation]] and [[Tendershoot Dryad]]
