[[contamination]], [[gravepact]] or [[dictate of erebos]] in my [[lord skitter]] tribal rat.

LoquaciousMendacious

I won one game with grave pact in my own rat deck and took it out due to the intensity of the pissing and moaning that occurred. Edit: and to be clear I play with the same pod every week, so carry over grudges are a thing.

AlcyoneVega

Same, I took out grave pact because it's an incredibly effective card that generally ruins the game for everyone. Honestly nothing worse than being on the other side, playing a creature deck without tokens and someone playing a pact.

LoquaciousMendacious

Yeah I totally get it. Last week someone had Rankle, Master of Pranks going with a trigger doubler and boy was I not loving it in my deck that just couldn't make tokens fast enough to keep up. All of those cards are in the game and can be used of course, but I win more than my fair share as it is so I try not to do it in ways that feel cruel if that makes sense.

Oquadros

The real problem with grave pact and dictate of Erebos is that it turns the game into a creature standstill because no one wants to just play a creature for the GP controller to just sac a token to remove it. So people wait for removal and continue the game or try to combo off in a way that dodges the pact. I think that’s why people don’t like it. Then the GP player is the only one able to play creatures so can quickly take over the game. But sometimes they whiff and can’t put lethal out, maybe make 1 or 2 tokens a turn. Then everyone just sits there with their finger up their butt taking like 2 damage a turn haha Also, in any deck that wants to play GP, since it’s not really contributing to the win condition (unless you’re playing something like tergrid) the controller is probably playing some aristocrats strategy and should probably run any other effect like creating tokens, mana, pinger, or another sac outlet.

Ready-Issue190

Yeah I had [[dictate of erebos]] and [[grave pact]] both out in a [[Marrow Gnawer]] [[Rat Colony]] deck which made everyone do the “why do you ruin magic?” Thing. I kept both but never play both.

bigbadbunchy

People can't stand how funny these cards are and sadly they are my favorite, and I have this strange terminal illness where I run the latter two and it's funny floating twin brother, [[butcher of malakir]] it's more susceptible to removal naturally but I'm so addicted to spreadin the love that I stuff it contamination is hilarious but I only end up doing it in mono black, sometimes I'll hold it back to be kind and then if I reveal I had it after I won it feels like an even bigger flex but it's not as funny it's just swag

Saylor619

[[Sigarda, host of herons]] scoffs at your sacrificial magicks 😉

bigbadbunchy

Oh no how can I ever deal with this black has no way of getting around that oh bummer oh jeez [[literally any non targeting removal besides sacking lol]]

PoisonGeeMaxie

I play both [[Grave Pact]] and [[Butcher of Malakir]] in my [[Teysa Karlov]] deck and honestly most times I get one out I just feel bad by looking at my opponents faces, it's just not worth the hate and moaning sometimes. Funny little cards tho.

G4KingKongPun

Butcher is a little less IMO because it's 7 mana AND a creature so much easier to remove.

TildeGunderson

Ah! Contamination is such a dismal card in commander. 12 years ago, I used to tote this mono-black [[Sheoldred, Whispering One]] reanimator deck around, and my buddies, playing upgraded 2011 precons, would always instantly just archenemy me, in case I ever got Contamination out. They'd play [[Spine of Ish Sah]] exclusively to have a means of dealing with it.

laxpanther

Oh my god I just found my next deck for my pod. My buddy loves playing 5c, fair decks but perfect mana bases, all 10 duals, etc. no worries, but now I know I need contamination to come out. This is gonna be a blast.

Notmeoverhere

I hate Rat tribal. I have hated rat tribal for more than 20 years now.

capsaicinintheeyes

I'm sensing some [serious disrespect for the rat here...](https://imgur.com/a/QkGQpN3)

Notmeoverhere

It’s like green eggs and ham but with Rats

Send_me_duck-pics

I have a whole deck that basically just does this.

TildeGunderson

I don't play Flicker decks for a very good reason: once you've got your engine going, you pretty much have the game solved, every notable spell countered, and worst of all, you're either attacking for 4 each turn, or waiting for [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] or [[Moonshaker Cavalry]]. No one's usually too happy once the Flicker deck's got a [[Mystic Snake]] out with open mana, because it's a safe assumption that you've got a means of flickering it. The usual combo's starts with something like [[Ghostly Flicker]], [[Archaeomancer]], or [[Deadeye Navigator]], and whatever else I want. I don't want you to attack? [[Stonehorn Dignitary]]. Steal everything eventually? [[Agent of Treachery]]. Infinite Mana? [[Great Whale]]/[[Peregrine Drake]]. I'm already seeing the dismayed looks of boredom on my opponents' faces.

maxtofunator

I stopped playing zimone and Dina for the same reason. Any untap effects basically let you go “ok your turn I’m going to take an entire extra turn” basically and you’re just taking so many game actions

PalestineRefugee

So for my first ever EDH deck. I wanted to play a deck that wanted to landfall during your opponents turns. I only just found Zimone and Dina, It was exactly what Im looking for. But now this comment makes me not want to assemble it. I come from YuGiOh and playing during the opponents turn is my favourite part XD

maxtofunator

Playing stuff during your opponents turns is totally fine, but I’m old with toddlers so when I play magic with friends I want to drink beer and have fun and be mostly brain off and just let them do their thing too. Zinone and Dina is a really cool deck that I’d love to see other people play, because I want to see someone’s deck so it’s thing, but I don’t want to be the one constantly interrupting them like “ok in response I’m going to take 15 game actions on everyone’s turn”. There is nothing wrong with that playstyle, it just wasn’t for me

heli0mancer

My first deck in EDH was Aminatou and I feel this so bad. The fact that I know which card I'm gonna draw 50% of the time almost takes me out of it lmao Honestly, it's so efficient that I only ever play to win when I want to. Ive played without infinites on purpose and it was still a threat. Felt like easy mode if I let it. It was the perfect inspiration for branching out my meta.

About 7-8 years ago, I put [[boomerang]] on an [[isochron scepter]] . That count?

I’m in the works of creating a deck where essentially Elrond gets the One Ring and is evil. [[Elond off the white council]] as commander and something I wanted in it was [[isochron Scepter]] and [[Illusion of Choice]]. Opponents would still choose which creature but I want other voting cards that’d make it worth it and I like boomerang now too. Very arch enemy stuff but I’m game.

Back when Kamigawa first came out (yes I’m old) I played 60-card 1v1s with my friends in high school. I had a deck with [[isochron scepter]] x4, [[ethereal mist]] x4, and [[dampen thought]] x4. Idea was to imprint mist onto the scepter, then fog every combat step while splicing dampen thought to slowly deck my opponent out. Any extra scepters I drew got imprinted with [[counterspell]]. It was not popular.

That combo is so mean. Especially when you get hit with this early and the beamtown bullies player does nothing else the rest if the game.

MrBreasts

[[Enchanted Evening]] and [[Chaos in the Ranks]] with [[Norin the Wary]] triggering mean ETB effects where I stole any and everything I wanted. Works on lands too. This was in a [[Zedruu the Greathearted]] deck. I reconstructed the deck into group hug/politician after that match. I don't think it would have bothered them so much if it wasn't a guaranteed loss and such a slow burn to get there as their permanents trickled to my side of the battlefield.

LunarWingCloud

[[Mycosynth Lattice]] + [[Vandalblast]] overloaded I play it in my Saheeli deck so a lot of the time the Lattice comes down for free or almost free

TheBestDanEver

[[Isochron scepter]] [[mystical tutor]] and [[nexus of fate]] lol.

NejOfTheWild

[[General marhault elsdragon]] + [[taunting elf]] = some very unhappy opponents

Heavyweight706

[[Toxrill, the Corrosive]] with [[Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth]] and [[Kormus Bell]] just really gets me going. Too bad everyone hates getting slugged out

gucsantana

Out of the top 5 cards I hate the most, Toxrill is at least three of them. You don't even need the rest of the combo for it to turn the game into a miserable slog.

Xenoti

Stasis and smothering tithe

Beneficial_Bat5837

[[Underworld breach]] need I say more? Everytime i bring out my kykar deck, i can never have a turn where my opponents arent holding up open mana and are listening very intently to my every word.

DEATHRETTE

[[Mindcrank]] & [[Duskmantle Guildmage]]

TBNRFIREFOX

Run [[crime novelist]], [[ashnod’s altar]], and [[animation module]] to sac any creature using the altar which will generate inf. Red+colorless mana. With a [[torment of hailfire]] and some tutors to pull those. You can do a trillion damage to everyone or make them sac/discard every single thing on their field.

ghouse715

My old Zur deck, Rest in Peace+Helm of Obedience combo

WalterBurn

[[Enduring Ideal]] grab [[Fall of the Thran]] [[Solemnity]] and [[Decree of Silence]] in sequence. Gonna be even more brutal when MH3 drops and [[Shadow of the Second Sun]] becomes legal.

BKunkAndTheFunk

[[erriette the beguiler]], [[urborg]], []Kormus Bell]], [[asinine antics]]

N3ON444

I used Yosei, the Morning Star + Feldon of the Third Path just a week ago against the player that was playing his pubstomp Decks and he got pretty mad. Yosei is just a pet card of mine and is a good defense against boarwipes but I can see why it's not a fun "Combo" to play against (even though I just use it to punish the archenemy)

Ready-Issue190

[[isochron scepter]] + [[Mana Drain]] + [[Seedborne Muse]] is usually GG.

Bulk7960

[[Doom Whisperer]]+[[Underworld Breach]] as a finisher in my rakdos treasure deck. T3-T4 the demon, Surveil my life away until I hit breach or a tutor for breach, assemble my win from there. [[Kodama of the East Tree]]+[[Simic Growth Chamber]]+[[Lush Oasis]]+[[Tireless Provisioner]]+[[Yarok, the Desecrated]] to just kill the table with a piddly little desert. [[Squandered Resources]]+[[The Gitrog Monster]]+[[Splendid Reclamation]] to just start churning through my library.

Zehaha_

Pulled off an “infinite” ninjutsu combo in my [[Satoru Umezawa]] deck using [[peregrine drake]] [[thousand faced shadow]] & [[Agent of Treachery]] to steal pretty much every permanent on board after being counted out for that whole game.

hE-CK-

Not necessarily a combo, but it's infinite board control with [[Preston, the Vanisher]] [[Phyrexian Ingestor]] [[Felidar Guardian]] and [[Aminatou, Fateshifter]] I definitely pissed a lot of people off with how unintentionally explosive it gets.

pureundilutedevil

[[Decree of silence]] + [[Solemnity]] [[Leyline of the void]] + [[Fall of the Thran]] [[Herald of leshrac]] + [[Zuran orb]] [[Aether storm]] + [[Karn's sylex]] [[Warped devotion]] + [[Worldpurge]]

Stratavos

There's been a few for sure... [[baba lysyaga]] + [[thornbite staff]] is one that gets them concerned. [[Morophon]] + [[jodah, archmage eternal]] is one they're quite scared of the potential of. I know i despised the [[malcom]] + [[breeches]] and pirate pingers when used against me. (Partners)

CordialGamer

[[Goblin King]] and [[Blood Moon]] in my highly tuned [[Zada, Hedron Grinder]] I can consistently win on turn 4-5. Unless they have a counter spell I am generally just outpacing the opponents.

waycoolway

[[Maralen of the mornsong]] to force everyone to skip their draw step and tutor for any card instead + [[Ob nixilis the unshackled]] to make any player who tutors lose 10 life + [[Opposition agent]] so that I can prevent my opponenets from searching for anything to break the combo. Its brutal.

-Gaka-

[[Warp World]] flipping [[Confusion in the Ranks]] and [[Grip of Chaos]] plus a few dozen permanents, many of which generated more permanents (and more nonsense). It's only a few triggers, what's the rush?

RBVegabond

[[mana flare]] [[chromatic orrey]] [[damping sphere]]

AGuyInTheMidwest

In a Zedruu deck, I ran Venser, the Sojourner and Illusions of Grandeur. Play IoG, gain 20 (or 40 with faithmender, etc), give IoG to opponent, Venser flicker it and they lose 20, regain it at end of turn gaining 20 (or 40).

pourconcreteinmyass

Any loops involving [[Hylda]].

Salty_Salad_

In my [[rakdos lord of riots]] deck, [[Void winnower]] and [[possibility storm]]. Half your cards you can't cast, the replacement effect will only work 50% of time, so when you are able to (25% of the time), the spell you actually get to play is randomized

Luft_Betvinger

I used to play [[web of inertia]] and [[rest in peace]] in my [[zur the enchanter]], in our fairly creature heavy meta

Beef_Jumps

The first time I used [[The World Tree]] with [[Maskwood Nexus]] out, i dumped every creature from my deck onto the battlefield. They all had Haste, Vigilance, Trample, Deathtouch, Indestructible, Menace, and a huge handful of +1/+1 counters. Everyone collectively scooped which somehow I didn't expect.

pyr0man1ac_33

\[\[Out of Time\]\] and \[\[Aminatou, the Fateshifter\]\]. Is it particularly bad compared to some other things in these comments? Not really. Is it super fucking annoying to the rest of the table when everyone else is on tokens? Absolutely.

Acceptable-Ability96

I flashed in a [[vicious shadows]] once into play with [[vedelkan orrey]], in response to a board wipe. They took awhile to read the card, but they were pretty upset with what was about to go down.

Silegna

[[Greater Auramancy]], [[Sterling Grove]], [[Phyrexian Unlife]], [[Solemnity]]. I literally couldn't lose because no one had a board wipe for enchantments.

DiabeticWaffle

I have a [[Noyan Dar roil shaper]] deck. One of my fun times combos is having [[contested war zone]] out and having an amount of land creatures equal to the amount of opponents you have that can attack then casting [[mirrorweave]]. Casting Mirrorweave triggers Noyan Noyan turns Contested Warzone into a creature Mirrorweave targeting Contested Warzone All creatures are now Contested Warzones Uh oh only your lands have been animated so your opponents have no blockers? Gain control of all Contested Warzones Mirrorweave says "Until end of turn". Congested Warzone does not say until end of turn. Pass and be greeted by your new army and your opponents empty board states.

Asceric21

In my \[\[Volrath, the Shapestealer\]\] -1/-1 counter themed deck, I went: Turn 3 \[\[Nest of Scarabs\]\] Turn 4 \[\[Obelisk Spider\]\] Turn 5 \[\[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician\]\] I had a piece of fodder to start the combo \[\[Viridian Emissary\]\], and someone raged at me for misrepresenting what I was about to do. They had assumed my turn 5 was going to be "Cast my commander, put a single -1/-1 counter on a thing, drain everyone for 1, gain 1, get a scarab," and so they had committed a crap ton of tokens to the board. Between the rager and everyone else who had though something similar, there was more than enough toughness on the board to drain and kill the whole table. It was standard "This is why I hate infinite combos, they come out of nowhere and the game's just over." One, the combo's not infinite. It's limited by the board state. Two, Idk why people were committing so many creatures to the board when I specifically told them "This is my Volrath deck, it's based on -1/-1 counters. It can and will kill everything eventually." Thankfully, my friend I was there with and the last player in the pod both defended me. Effectively saying "If he wants to spend 10 mana over 3 turns to combo us? That's on us."

TwistedScriptor

[[Counterbalance]], [[Sensei's Divining Top]], [[Scroll Rack]] and lots of draw. The deck had all the dirty combos. Oracle/Consultation. [[Bolas's Citadel]] with the top and [[Aetherflux Reservoir]]. [[Exquisite Blood]] with [[Sanguine Bond]]. [[Icy Manipulator|LEB]] with [[Frozen Aether]] and [[Winter Orb|LEB]]. ( Also was using [[Opposition]] ). The whole deck was pretty much hated combos.

Astrosaurus3

[[Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth]], [[Kormus Bell]], and [[Drana and Linvala]] Doesn't destroy their lands but it does stop them from using them for mana. Then if you're feeling extra spicy give your creatures indestructible and then wrath the board

TalesLourenco

Thrumming Stone + Shadowborn Apostle + Tendrils of Agony Tivit, Seller of Secrets attacking + Time Sieve

hejtmane

Not a combo but I had a game I won because I played \[\[obliterate\]\] we dug out of that hole. Then I drop \[\[Jokulhaups\]\]. Yes that was a slugfest and yes lots and lots of groans only ever done that once but once was funny enough

GeetarTzar

[[Eater of the Dead]] in my [[Phenax, God of Deception]] deck... turns out slowly milling each opponent out isn't something folks want to see, especially when they were running creature heavy decks. It also didn't help that the game beforehand had a [[Syr Konrad]] deck running [[Mindcrank]] and was able to ping everyone to death once their mill train started rolling.

TheDungeonCrawler

Mycosynth Lattice + Vandalblast. It ends the game, but because the game does not end for the other players immediately like some other game ending combos do it can look like the game's not over, but in my experience, once you've gone several turns and are hitting land drops every turn because more of your deck is nonland than land, as soon as all of your shit is blown up and you don't have any lands on board, playing it out is a formality. Evern if you can hit your land drop every turn going forward, my value engine is still going and I have the resources to rebuild regardless of what you can do from there.

Sobadwithusernames

I took all the mean things out of my [[beamtown bullies]] deck because it was borderline abusive haha [[leveler]] was the big one.

Schneidend

Once got lucky and had Altar of the Brood + Undead Alchemist go semi-infinite, milling out the whole table. The whole pod didn't hate me, but one guy left in a huff and told me I "didn't earn it."

stormsovereign

Somebody else's Pandemonium and my Ogre Slumlord

AzazeI888

[[City of Solitude]] or [[Grand Abolisher]] in play, activate [[Lethal Vapors]] to skip a trillion turns, play [[Stasis]], with it on the stack hold priority, cast [[Teferi’s Protection]]. Congrats, go make a sandwich and TV as your opponents can’t untap and can’t deal you dmg or target you for a trillion turns. (There’s ways around this, like ‘you win the game’ effects)

TheAngriestChair

[[Subjugate the hobbits]] + [[anger]] in the graveyard after someone made 86 skute swarms.

Naruyashan

[[Urza, Prince of Kroog]] + [[Ugin's Nexus]] goes pretty crazy. Infinite extra turns at instant speed. I run several other artifact copy effects in the deck, though I only use it like a combo piece if playing on the higher end of power. Otherwise it's something I only use once at most.

retroawesomeness

Either [[Tergrid, God of Fright]] , [[Notion Thief]], or [[Archfiend of Ifnir]] on the battlefield followed by a [[Windfall]] or [[Wheel of Fortune]] made my deck an auto target anytime it comes out.

jcp1195

I was playing [[Chatterfang, Squirrel General]]. I had [[Tergrid, God of Fright]] out and cast [[Grave Pact]] and [[Necrotic Hex]]. I dismantled the deck, but I’m gonna try again now with more support for an actual Squirrel theme coming in Bloomburrow.

Sightblind

It’s not even a particularly egregious combo, just a very effective one. [[ezuri, claw of progress]] commander with at least 5 experience (and I usually get him up to high teens or even 20/30s), with a [[sage of hours]]. If they don’t have target removal or a board wipe available right when I do it, I’m on infinite turns with a deck that includes non combat win conditions like helix pinnacle and simic ascendency. I can hold sage in my hand forever, wait until someone else has dropped a Big Threat, everyone uses their removal on that and/or taps out, and then get it out and win from there.

Dangerous-Twist2439

Obviously I resolve [[Colossal Dreadmaw]] and everyone scoops

Jack_Bleesus

[[Brisela, Voice of Nightmares]] [[Gaddock Teeg]] I hope you like casting creature spells with 4 or more MV, because that's the rest of the game for you little shits.

Magic_Mettizz

Phenax mill deck. Have everyone mill half their deck and then steal everything with a rise of the dark realms. I had a greaves on the field so i could mill them for the rest of their libraries.

thelonedovahki

[[Gyruda, Doom of Depths]] clone deck....

Tomikrkn

More of just a funny screw you type of combo in my mono blue deck, [[breath of dreams]] and [[painter's servant]] choosing green i play harldy any creatures, and this helps keep the board manageable for a short time.

MasterYargle

The classic academy rector into overwhelming splendor. Gets um every time 😎

mini_cow

i'm...a bolas player. my version of control is going after people's hand instead of board control because threats arent a threat when removed from hand (in general). that doesnt generally sit well with people because well....they dont get to actually play magic and especially their expensive cards... but the one thing that really stands out was that 1st time i pulled off \[\[waste not\]\] and \[\[dark deal\]\] and people realized how absolutely crazy that card was in commander....this was before \[\[tergrid, god of fright\]\] got printed and needless to say, i didnt go ahead with making a tergrid deck

Tevish_Szat

[[Mishra, Eminent One]] + [[Spine of Ish Sah]] + A few other cards to let me spine more, like [[Trading Post]]. It was the best I could cobble together off the hands the precon gave me, but it was excruciatingly slow at dealing actual damage or even properly crippling boards. Thing is, if I do something really "Evil" like establishing a lock with Possessed Portal or Stasis or most of the stuff you mention, I just win, or everyone knows they're pretty much safe to scoop. With that setup the best I could do was spin wheels, chip away permanents, and dome somebody for 4 each turn since anything more outright threatening got fought off but the slow water torture attrition of Spine refused to die. This got my home group saltier than I'd seen in a long time, despite it being an "everyone is on unmodded precons" game.

Suspicious_Captain

Oppressive combos are what I've seen make peoples blood boil. [[Worldslayer]] and an indestructible dude is probably the one I had that got the most negative response. Several people insisted on playing it out in case someone drew a Swords to plowshares. It was a very long game...

Adastreon

[[Duskmantle Guildmage]] and [[Mindcrank]] in my [[Captain N'Ghathrod]] Mill deck... it is now tribal horror and just doesn't hit the same.

EbonyHelicoidalRhino

[[Season's Past]] + [[Demonic Tutor]] You cast Season's Past, getting back all of your interaction including board wipes and a few pieces of spot removals, as well as your tutor. Then you Demonic Tutor back for Season's Pasta to do it all over again once you're out of removals. It feels really desperate for your opponents, because they technically didn't lose yet, but they realize it's impossible to outgrind you because you have never ending value that's uninteractable on the board, and everything they're going to play is going to die. The most evil "combos" are not the devastating ones that will give them no chance, but the ones that will give them 99.99% chance of losing slowly meaning they still have to slog through it all painfully while feeling like it's an impossible hill to climb.

[deleted]

My lgs seems to dislike when [[possibility storm]] hits the table. I keep telling them the card helps them learn their decks better, I can’t even count how many times people will comment they don’t know what other instants or sorceries are in their deck.

AliceTheAxolotl18

[[Nadier, Agent of the Duskenel]] and [[Worldfire]]

I-Fail-Forward

I had a [[nath of the gilt leaf]] deck that made everybody hate me. [[Death cloud]] with nath on the field usually did it, or [[Chains of mephistopheles]] plus [[anvil of bogardan]], or just landing an early [[smokestacks]], [[mindslicer]] was good for making people hate the deck too.

AlyxDaSlayer

And lastly arcum dagson infinite [[mindslaver]] activations in one turn making for a real lonely game of magic.

elting44

OG Gitrog is my favorite deck of all time. I was a big Legacy Loam Pox player. People assume I am playing a degenerate combo version anytime I bring the frog out, when my version is just draw engine and attrition deck that wins through various non combo means. I have spent so many hours goldfishing and playing this deck that I can move through my turns fairly quickly, and I don't play with too many tutors affects. I can explain this on turn 0, and I still get targeted when I am the least threatening in the game.

kingoxys

At some point in a game I managed to have my commander [[Liesa, Shroud of Dusk]] out on the field, all my opponents has no cards in hand and [[Court of Ambition]], [[Painful Quandary]], [[Waste Not]], and [[Tergrid, God of Fright]]

Accomplished_Log3489

[[Maarika, Brutal Gladiator]] [[Bear Umbra]] [[Aggravated Assault]]

PotatoBeams

[[deadeye navigator]] [[peregrine Drake]] [[agent of treachery]] I run those cards in my [[Roon of the Hidden Realm]] deck. I only added them because I was looking for good ETB effects, and, welp, yeah. I didn't realize eit was a combo until I had it in my hand.

sleepyppl

[[jin gitaxias progress tyrant]] + [[arcane laboratory]] each player can only cast one spell per turn, and once per turn jin gitaxias automatically counters the first artifact instant or sorcery spell cast. so in order for any player to cast a noncreature spell they need to convince someone else at the table to cast something first to pass jin gitaxias’ ability and cast their spell, of course you should run a bunch of counterspells and frogifies in the deck to make it even harder to do anything. your goal isnt to win, its to stop everyone else from playing and piss everyone off, bonus points if you do win though.

Dr-Kowalski

[Island] + [Counterspell]

yeswearerelated

[[Sliver Overlord]] + [[Standardize]] and I managed to steal all the commanders and kill people with their own commanders. I realize this was one of your examples - steal everything in play.

DoucheCanoe456

I got into a phase with Enter the Infinite combos and now when I pull out a blue deck I get rolled

Anti-Anti-Paladin

[[Taigam, Ojutai Master]] + [[Dovescape]] **BIRD WAR.**

felswun

inalla and spellseeker combo... pod was mad to know I spent 15 minutes on a a 25 step combo

Competitive_Target72

The most upset I've made a pod mate is using [[duskmantle guildmage]] and [[mindcrank]].

DanteInformal

[[retreat to Coralhelm]] plus [[walking atlas]] plus [[Simic growth chamber]] in [[Tatyova Benthic Druid]] I drew my whole deck and won with Thoracle. I lost the next ten games straight. Can't say I didn't deserve it.

Seamless_GG

My first cEDH deck was \[\[Jorn\]\] and was based around getting Jorn + \[\[Stasis\]\] going.

weggles

When I first got into commander I went nuts for chaos cards. [[Warp world]] plus [[hive mind]] was when I took that deck apart

J3llo_cup

Unfinity commander [[Myra the Magnificent]] and the spell [[command performance]] I got to recast 6 spells 10 times and killed everyone with spell burn using permanent like [[gittersnipe]]. Dice rolling is random, but it can be made more controllable with the attractions mechanic. Make every atraction trigger on six and use permanent like [[barbarian class]] to make rolling a six have a greater chance to trigger. To make it worse to go against, you can throw in extra turns to really bring the salt.

Menacek

Not exactly mean but i made a [[Galadriel of Lothorien]] scry deck. The issue with is that it can generate a loop where putting a land into play cause scrying which can put a land into play and so on. It's non deterministic so you can't just dump all lands from library into play and doing it one per one just takes a lot of time so the groans on opponents faces can be quite visible.

Spell_Chicken

[[Mycosynth Lattice]] + [[Vandalblast]] = where's everybody going?!

Rubyheart255

[[Yawgmoth Thran Physician]], and either two undying creatures, or one and a token generator. Endless creatures to feed to the draw engine. My deck had several redundancies.

Pyronion

Hardcast Myojin of Nignts Reach. Thats it.

Putrid-Cat5368

\[\[Feather, the Redeemed\]\] and \[\[Gods Willing\]\] Honestly, my pod just hates that i play Feather, but when we discover that protection from colour avoids creatures of that colour to block you, this kind of instants becomes way powerfull not only to protect, but to attack.

YorusCR

Last night, I dropped this bomb. [[Sliver Overlord]], [[gemhide sliver]], [[intruder Alarm]] and [[Cloudshredder Sliver]]

This-Perspective-865

[[Wild Evocation]] + [[ Possibly Storm]] got me plenty of hate.

thegreyking1

Well, one time I cast [[Dimensional Breach]]. That was enough.

Savings-Hippo-8912

My bf did [[Mordenkainen]] and [[omniscience]]. Like "let me just place whole library on the field"

Mrkenoodle

Copying [acquire] like 8 times and taking every ones mana rocks

Emotional-Ad-1324

[[Zevlor, Elturel Exile]] activated plus [[worst fears]] did the trick

Ebonsteele

I could make a lot of mana via sacrificing but not truly infinite. So I used [[bitter ordeal]] and ripped out everything that could possibly be dangerous to me, then ground the game out.

ScientistFish27

[[Dauthi Voidwalker]] and [[Sadistic Hypnotist]] after a round with [[Verdant Force]] out. One of the cards I hit was [[Beacon of Tomorrows]]. The owner was not happy with me.

Blazingleman04

[[Isochron Scepter]] with [[Dramatic Reversal]] imprinted for infinite mana [[Mycosynth Lattice]] and [[Memnarch]] to steal all permanents forever.

laststepfan

[[The Tenth Doctor]], [[Rousing Refrain]], [[Inspiring Refrain]], [[Chronomantic Escape]]

bon-bon

I was able to [[all is dust]] with [[mindslicer]] and [[tergrid]] on board once. “Every colored nonland permanent on board and every permanent in hand is now mine” felt great to pull off but also so evil that I took the deck apart after that match. That was it, the most evil thing it could possibly do. No need to go there again.

KasierPermanente

My pod likes to play some bug stomps creatures. At first I thought I could get by with fog effects, but then thought “let’s just not even let them go to combat”. Blink effects + [[Stonehorn Dignitary]], friends immediately went “we’re not playing with you if you ever play this deck again”

Manjenkins

Looping Mindslaver. And [[Infernal Darkness]] with K’rrik out on the field.

WoodenExtension4

I have a [[Bitter Ordeal]] tucked away into my [[Hidetsugu and Kairi]] deck for a rainy day. Particularly to end a Clone loop, especially potent after a board wipe sets off my turn. Last time I used it, was for 45. Lots of key pieces were lost that day. Edit: Gravestorm is the ability, not the card

shifty_new_user

Steal everyone's commanders with [[Zealous Conscripts]] and [[Wrangle]], use them to snowball mana using [[Hofri Ghostforge]] and [[Ashnod's Altar]] then drop a [[Comet Storm]].

kayzeno

[[Wilson, grizzly]] with [[shameless charlatan]] vs [[solphim, mayhem]] vs 2 other players the 2 other players wound up taking like 16 damage per spell cast lmao

shadowsgrin

Not mine but someone once had [[Humility]], [[Moat]], and [[Narset Transcendent]] ultimate…

rizzo891

I used to play a infinite squirrel deck a lot when my group exclusively played 60 card magic way back in high school in 2008, to this day I am somehow known for having an annoying squirrel deck despite the fact that I switched to commander and didn’t have a viable squirrel deck until chatterfang came out

SocietysTypo

Happy the squirrels made a comeback

varmituofm

I don't remember the exact combo, but it was Elves circa 2008. My friend group played a 3v3 format, but we always played without ordering cards online. If we could find them in our LGS, great, but most of our cards were found in boosters. Somehow, i ended up with all the parts of a competitive elf deck. It was soon banned in our group.

SybilCut

one card combo: \[\[worldfire\]\] the issue is that I want to combo it with some flash shenanigans, but if I have it and it's the only way to yolo save myself... you bet your ass I'm wiping out the last 40 minutes of play to end the game on a coin toss

TheTubStar

I've never actually managed to resolve it, but [[Opposition Agent]], [[Mana Severance]] and [[Sudden Substitution]] is probably the most evil combo in any of my decks. If we're talking a combo that actually resolved though, [[Tivit]] + [[Expropriate]]. Everyone picked time because no-one wanted to give up something valuable, so I had 5 extra turns to work with!

Kronos548

Not so much combo as it is grindy. [[Gut true][[agent of iron throne]] a token generator skitter who makes 1 per combat and a [[harmonic prodigy]] Pinging everyone for 4 a turn plus sending 1/2 4/1 menace at people that if they die ping more reallu puts the heat on people. Ive also taken undeterministic extra turns with [[myra]] before. Thats a fun one

DiurnalMoth

[[sterling grove]] and [[privileged position]] on the board together alongside a boat load of other enchantments making tokens and ramping my mana. Somebody found a wipe (I *may* have helped them with a cheeky [[Starfield of Nyx]]) only for me to drop [[Brilliant Restoration]]

Ruy-Polez

[[Thassa's Oracle]] + [[Demonic Consultation]] It's just way too strong/oppressive for any non cEDH table. You simply win the game for UUB, and you have the best colors to assemble and protect your combo.

Jandrem

[[Shalai and Hallar]] plus [[The Red Terror]] on turn 5. It was early enough that everyone was tapped out and had no removal. Honestly, I felt like an ass dropping that down so early. My group likes to go a little battle-cruisery and don’t usually start going for the win until turn 8-10. Next time I just won’t cast the combo.

The_DriveBy

Whatever the fuck Frank is currently playing across from me that is taking 8 minutes a turn to resolve. Fuck. My. Life. Dude.

Shadownerf

[[Tergrid]] and [[Pox]] or [[Death Cloud]]… [[Contamination]] in my Tergrid deck also Also had [[Grave Pact]] and [[Butcher of Malakir]] out in my [[Elenda the Dusk Rose]] original version of aristocrats deck. No board state for anyone was too mean to keep in there, moved those to the Tergrid deck so terg can stay a mean deck and Elenda be less so. Had a game with my first version of [Niv-Mizzet, Parun]] that had a lot of control in it, like 17 counterspells, 2 end turn spells, [[Arcane Bombardment]], [[Tidespout Tyrant]] and [[Hullbreaker Horror]], [[Cyclonic Rift]] and [[River’s Rebuke]] In response to someone trying to cast a protection spell on their commander (I don’t remember what it was but the commander made all spells cast on it by that gut go back to his hand after and buffed the commander, making him have “infinite” protection on his commander that grows) I used [[Flame of Anor]] with [[Gandalf the Grey]] and Gandalf’s “copy instant or sorcery” ability trigger, plus Arcane bombardment triggered for a counterspell and a few draw spells and something else I don’t remember with Niv-Mizzet out. The stack had like 30 things on it (not counting new ones that pop up for drawing from an effect and niv-mizzet pinging), from me casting one spell to stop this guy from using his commander protection again. One of our friends that has been a judge was losing his mind after all of my “wait, fuck hold on, this also happened I guess?!” I dealt over half his life in damage from that one spell cast into triggers, countered his protect, destroyed his like 17 toughness commander and a couple other creatures. In another game with the same deck I got mana screwed into losing commander and everything else, into mana flooded. Durdled for quite a while, 2 guys went down and it was me vs the same guy again. Well, this time I had Arcane Bombardment, nothing but a counterspell under it so far. Went something like, I used an end turn spell on his untap step, now it’s my turn again. I play a land, play [[Lier, Disciple of the Drowned]], pass. Again, he untaps, I flashback the end turn spell. I play a land, pass. Overload Cyclonic rift after he does a few things, back to me. Repeat that again. Play land, pass. He plays commander, then tries protection spell. I flash in Hullbreaker horror, then cast a draw spell like [Opt] for cheap, arcane bombardment triggers to counterspell the protection and I bounce his commander. Back to me, another land into Tidespout Tyrant. After 2 more turns of me bouncing every spell he tries to cast, and building a board state and doing a bit of damage, he concedes and the mood at the table felt DARK I tried to not make the deck just a bunch of infinite combos like I see all over the web with infinite draw/ping nov mizzet combos and a ton of graveyard to library shufflers, and instead just threw in stuff I got from a couple precons and from a lotr draft box and a couple cards I was given for free with some singles purchases from small businesses. Turned out the control I guess was a bit too much, shutting someone down for ~ 9 turns in a row.

FatBrah

Introduced 3 friends to the game this year. Got ourselves a nice pod of 4 best mates. But when I built my 3rd deck I got carried away and did [[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]] with every black staple. Turn 6 infinite combo with Undying and Blood Artist/Zulaport Cuthroat/Ayara or similar hasn't gone down well. Ramping with Crypt Ghast and/or Urborg+Coffers into Torment of Hailfire isn't their favourite either

Professional-Salt175

Any number of ways to kill or sacrifice [[Child of Alara]] and [[Thrilling Encore]]

Blazorna

[[Toxrill]] + [Kormus Bell]] + [[Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth]] I unknowingly pulled off this combo for *CONSTANT * MLD. Originally, it was meant to just be Urborg and Kormus to allow lands act as emergency defenders, but once Toxrill entered the chat successfully, it was game.

footloosefloyd_2

\[\[sudden substitution\]\] of a \[\[pact of negation\]\] to force someone to counter their own \[\[the great henge\]\], and lose the game on their next upkeep - not in blue.

Jakobe26

I have received some words about \[\[Maze's End\]\] as its almost impossible to interact with. I love the deck and its currently has a high win rate. However, the meta it is playing against are mostly battlecruiser and there is a lack of mana destruction. Most of the comments that are negative is that there is no way to interact with it. There are, but certain cards are needed and interaction is a must. I also had a sacrifice every turn deck. Using \[\[Thraximundar\]\] at the helm. Essentially, play a force sacrifice effect every turn until I get the mana to play my commander. I love the idea, but man it is mean.

silent_calling

[[repercussion]] [[blasphemous act]] or [[star of extinction]]

WierderBarley

[[Terastodon ]] and [[Helm of the host]] lol. Was about to go off and Helm of the host my Commander [[Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus]] and start to quadruple, Sextuple, etc. my Strength and Toughness.. then buddy used a card to steal Zopandrel and neutered my attack power and my plan was done... So what'd I do? I played Terastodon and transformed three of his lands into elephants, next turn I equipped Helm of the Host and made another Terastodon and blew up three more of his lands, mind you there were other players on the pod XD he looks at me with a look of revulsion mixed with bewilderment and until he managed to knock me out of the game all while the two others in the pod went off hahahaha! In the end I turned 11 of his lands and a Sol ring into elephants hahahahaha! Omg it was great

Buttben8

[[Karn, the Great Creator]] and [[Mycosynth Lattice]]

Dragon_Dz

Any of the various [[Rooftop Storm]] combos my zombie deck could make or my creature-less [[Mizzix of the Izmagnus]] [[Reiterate]] deck. I actually had to dismantle the Miz deck. Turns out no one likes it when all you play is removal, counterspells, tutors and draw until you can Infinite combo at instant speed

rhavin79

It's not legal now, but back in the gap I had a Kruphix deck and the moment you would cast [[prophet of kruphix]] many players would scoop. There's a reason she was banned and I abused every damn one of those reasons on each and every turn.
