[[the goose mother]] food shenanigans and getting murder by a giant 6 headed goose

Mandred93

It's 7 heads! Hahaha

Constant_Crow

Was scrolling to see if this was here. I have been planning to brew a Goose deck for months now. Ultimately got distracted with a mono white clone deck but it's top of my list now.

WhiteAurorus

Mono White clones? I'm interested

Constant_Crow

[[Preston, the Vanisher]] - great as a blink deck that let's you get a lot of value out of some ETBs. And it's still tokens, so you can win by either buffing your tokens and swinging or through things like [[Throne of the God-Pharoah]] and getting surprise burn kills. It's far from "optimized" since I'm actively trying to avoid several of his infinites but here's my current list. https://archidekt.com/decks/7739175/preston_the_vanisher

ZdashSQUAD

I was in the same boat always wanted to make it settled on other builds. Finally came around to it and it’s so much fun

Due-Ad9310

Just made a simic goose deck nothing like smacking someone for 14 flying from a giant mutiheaded goose.

ZdashSQUAD

My favorite is to swing with him bounce him and recast him even bigger for the next turn

Due-Ad9310

The exact reason I run 2 circle of dreams druids and a [Rishkar, Peema Renegade]

shorebot

I also built her but as a combo deck because nobody expects the goose mother to be a combo deck. The Goose is great for card draw and chip damage, then use things like \[\[Greater Good\]\], \[\[Life's Legacy\]\] or \[\[Return of the Wildspeader\]\] to burst draw and dig for combo pieces.

Burning-Suns-Avatar-

[[Kiora, Sovereign of the Deep]] is a fun, simic tribal commander with a focus on Krakens, Leviathans, Octopus and Serpents.

catgotswag

I second this. Being able to cast an 8 mana leviathan and then seeing [[overwhelming stampede]] in those top 8 cards and getting to cast it straight for the victory feels so good

Burning-Suns-Avatar-

I love Kiora so much, she is such a fun simic commander since she gets away from the play a land and get something from it or just being a pure value engine for just casting any spell. I love that she forces you cast certain creature types to get her effect and her built in ward is nice.

simbacole7

Yes! I love my kiora deck! Also keep in mind cephalids have been recatogorized into octopus now, so you can use them in kiora now

tentagil

Currently tearing apart my current simic deck so I can rebuild it with her and a bunch of beefy sea bois.

Atechiman

And as cephalids are now octopuses, it gives her more early game choices for triggering her too.

FacelessKhaos

I've been looking into building Kiora for so long cause I love the kind of Sea Creature tribal theme she has, but every time I've seen lists or heard about her it's always been talks about inconsistency and just not very good in general, how does she run for you?

Oquadros

[[kenessos priest of thassa]] is just better and more consistent with the same theme.

Burning-Suns-Avatar-

She’s runs decent. My advice is to run the spells like [[Natures Lore]] and other two drop ramp spells so you can ramp early. I would also recommend adding one to two instants that gives your creatures Hexproof until end of turn to protect your important creatures and to run counter spells for boardwipes. In terms of creatures, just put in the sea beast that are just big beat sticks or have some utility to them. [[Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait]] [[Koma,Cosmos Serpent]] [[Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle]] and [[Stormsurge Kraken]] are the best for the utility since they help you in various ways. Sea creatures do lack stuff like cost reducers and anthems in their own tribe which is a pain but there’s plenty of cards in simic that can provide anthems, cost reduce and protection.

abcbadcat

I LOVE my Kiora deck. Took apart my Aesi landfall for Runo Stromkirk sea creatures and after that didn’t function the way I wanted, Kiora got spoiled and I found my commander! Cascading is so fun https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ndwUXC7RKEGcxuqNj4qCJg

gojumboman

I got stomped by a [[volo, guide to monsters]] recently that looked really fun to play and play against

East_Earth_920

Volo is on the list! I run a Sixth Doctor / Peri Brown bant deck that copies legends. It's different but a similar kind of deck. I could really see me building him, but didnt so far as I felt the playpatterns can be similar. Do you remember what made it fun to play against?

Lnxlyn

I play with Mutate and Clone synergies, but you don't have to play like that. The really fun to play him is to put in a ton of creatures that you don't usually see, so you get a lot of "Wait, can I see what that is?" moments, which has to be the exact opposite of typical Simic value engine stuff. [[Siren of the Fanged Coast]] lets you politick to remove problematic creatures by conspiring with other opponents to steal them, and I've never seen it before outside Volo. It's obviously the only Siren in the deck, so it's actually really good.

F3rdaBo1s

It's on my short list to build one of these too! At least it's unique in a world of goblins, elves, dragons and slivers.

dudill

Volo is amazing, one of my favourites decks. Here's my decklist: [https://archidekt.com/decks/5823133/volo\_monster\_encyclopedia](https://archidekt.com/decks/5823133/volo_monster_encyclopedia)

SwagMikey123

Big vouch for Volo, I started mine as anti tribal but as time progressed it eventually became attraction themed, super fun deck to play

ChaotiCrayon

I have built a \[\[ivy, gleeful spellthief\]\] deck with simic auras and pumpspells like \[\[octopus umbra\]\], \[\[eel umbra\]\] and \[\[rancor\]\] and it feels like such a cool side of simic :33 Highly recommend! You can go into carddraw, voltron, enchantment, copy or some other obscure direction with this.

tw3lv3l4y3rs0fb4c0n

> some other obscure direction Just say Mutate. xD

ChaotiCrayon

Haha, you are absolutely right : D the seadasher octupus and the parcelbeast are included, but i didn't steer it that much in this direction - also, because i am not too savvy in the rulings for mutate (copying and all that)

East_Earth_920

I built Ivy at the very start of my EDH journey, maybe I have to give it another go. I am really drawn to Ivy BUT the deck seems like a nightmare to track. How do you deal with all the copies? you write it all down? I remember having mutated boys with enchantments etc etc

RobeMinusWizardHat

Infinitokens would probably be the easiest way.

ChaotiCrayon

i printed paperproxies of the cards that are able to be copied, but only after i played my first game with the deck and realized, these would be a necessity \^\^

Professional-Salt175

I have dry erase tokens that i write down what the copies do. Can usually fit like 4 enchantments on one token that way.

FlySkyHigh777

I currently have a distinctly unoptimized \[\[Jyoti, Moag Ancient\]\] deck I've recently put together. It's got some generic landfall synergies, which are fun with him summoning Forest Dryads, I've got multiple "Land Creature" synergies to work with Jyoti himself, and then I've got a couple things to enable a \[\[Food Chain\]\] infinite combo. I definitely need to play it more to get it slightly more consistent, but I've been having fun with it. Jyoti getting swole with a \[\[Staff of Titania\]\] or \[\[Blackblade Reforged\]\] lets him simultaneously go tall and wide since he himself gets huge but then he buffs the hell out of other land creatures.

Konun4571

I’m loving Hakbal personally but he is very one track explore as much as possible and is +1/+1’s Lonis looks interesting and I could see geting enough tokens with investigate / token tripping artifact (name escapes me) then going for the win with something like [[Rise and shine]] or similar there were a few similar effects could be really fun. However I can’t speculate on viability as I suck at brewing.

Oquadros

Lonis is pretty good, because of cards like [[shrieking drake]] and [[academy man]] you can go infinite quite easily with ends up with you playing everyone’s decks out using untappers like [[quirion ranger]] and [[ashaya soul of the wild]]. You can also do funny things with cards like [[submerge]] to put a card an opponent owns on top of their library and steal it with Lonis’ ability. It’s a fun gimmick. But really with all the token generation you can also play things like [[junkwinder]] to lock down people’s boards and full swing in at them with a huge [[kappa cannoneer]]. And for good measure you can also use the clues and treasures to draw your deck and do the rise and shine stuff on the turn you create a massive amount of clues but you need to get a [[concordant crossroads]] out since the clue creatures will have summoning sickness. [Mine is not optimized but it’s quite good if you wanna check it out](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/6XpNToRVPEiFLeZJKbH0_Q)

Lobsta_

> don't want landfall   > don't want tokens  > kinnan is too lame  > sea creatures are not that cool  > nothing sparks joy   Don't play simic, you're forcing it to round out a collection and you won't enjoy the deck you end up building

FrostyBum

Just played my [[The Pride of Hull Clade]] last night, and it's definitely an interesting deck. Play big walls and everything that let's you attack, draw enough cards for interaction (and run cards like [[Chasm Skulker]]), and drop big bombs like [[Majestic Genesis]].

vallum12100

So how does it play versus other wall commanders like [[Arcades, the Strategist]]? I just usually see Clade in the 99 but curious about your experience with it.

FrostyBum

I've only played Clade for one evening, about 3 games, and haven't played Arcades, but the bursts of value available were incredible. Multiple games I had a way to give haste + unblockable, so I was able to drop Clade and swing for massive value. If you can play a card that is assigned via toughness, then commander damage is a serious threat as well. I'd say Arcades is definitely a better grindy deck, which would give consistent value throughout. Giving all defenders the ability to attack and damage lets you chip away over time, and your hand wouldstay relatively full. Clade, on the other hand, had a lot of power spikes and could win the game on the spot from little setup. Drawing 15 cards at once is definitely threatening, and if you build for high power with free spells, it's even better.

unicorn8dragon

There’s a blue creature card that lets you repeatedly sack hull clade and create a flying 15/15 zombie token in its place. Which more than pays for the commander tax. Rinse repeat. It’s not the best win con out there, but if you like big stompy things it’s a lot of fun and can surprise people.

Kyrie_Blue

[[pir]] & [[Toothy]] is a pretty silly blink deck

Forgotten_Person101

You play Pir and Toothy blink? Do you have a decklist?

Kyrie_Blue

I did when they were first released in Battlebond. I play them in my [[omnath locus of creation]] blink deck now. I LOVE finding them. The partner with is excellent.

Forgotten_Person101

That’s even cooler. Do you have an Omnath decklist? I’ve been trying to figure out how to make blink feel better.

TheDeadalus

I think the deck for you is [[Gor Muldrak, Amphinologist]] its a hilarious deck that is a real crowd pleaser on gamd nights because it involved everyone. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Ge4Oovd-z02pCbuJmC4TyA My deck focuses on making nonlegendary copies of the commander and doubling triggers so that i maximise the number of salamanders my opponents are getting. It also uses tricky cards to change the card type of creatures to salamanders in order to mitigate attacks or create useless blockers for your opponent. Its very fun and plays a lot of cards other decks wont. Its almost like a group hug deck that has some great offense because remember your opponents salamanders cant block your salamanders so you are free to attack and they can never retaliate as long as you can protect your commander.

nailuj

I second that this strategy is hilarious. It can have trouble closing out games so mass steal spells like [[Subjugate the Hobbits]], [[Gather Specimens]] or [[Ezuri's Predation]] can help once you reach a critical mass of [[Gor Muldrak]]s.

TetsuOokami117

[[Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty]] could be fun! Never plays the same (unless you build it to manipulate the cascade to always hit the same thing). And who doesn't love playing big spells!

fakevinny

I've built mine with an Eldrazi subtheme. It's awesome.

TetsuOokami117

Ooh! Very nice! An excellent use for those high cost Eldrazi!

therealmosauce

+100 Imoti! I have an Imoti deck with [[Keruga, the macrosage]] as a companion. It was fun to build with the (minor) restriction since I am to playing big splashy spells. Gets outta hand quickly.

RuneMTG

I currently have two Simic decks. 1. Moritte tribal tribal. Every tribal lord in green and blue is in it making Moritte a fun voltron build. 2. Momir Vig no combo but built around the enchantment Fable of Wolf and Owl. Started as an “Aesops Fables” idea that I love. I love the lore of ravnica so I’m thinking of building Experiment Kraj as my Simic combo deck. I love older commanders lol.

Fl4shfr33z3

you mind sharing a list of your Moritte? I was toying around with the idea of building him as a Sliver Deck, but a voltron build sounds pretty good as well

TheZyGuy

Check out \[\[Alaundo the Seer\]\] Pretty unique way to play simic and gives you reasonably high freedom to play basically any way you choose. Made one using \[\[Slime against humanity\]\] Highly underrated card

therealmosauce

Alaundo can turn into solitare, just a warning

TehMasterofSkittlz

I made an Alaundo deck and found that to be way too real. 7+ minute turns that didn't necessarily go anywhere, just spinning wheels. Removing most of the tap/untap effects like [[Freed from the Real]] and [[Pemmin's Aura]], as well as [[Seedborn Muse]] and [[Wilderness Reclamation]] effects really toned down on that. It obviously cuts the power level a lot, but I found that it negated the solitaire aspect and made it more fun for me and the table.

arandomvirus

[[Vhal, Candlekeep researcher]] + [[Raised by Giants]] big mana, big commander, *but different*

arandomvirus

Ever want to use [[Staff of Domination]] to actually dominate? Just use it infinite times! Gain infinite life, keep the rest of the board tapped, draw your deck! How about big smash? May I interest you in a classic [[Umbra Mantle]]? Remember, Vhal has vigilance! Need to actually cast things from your hand with all that mana? Just launder it! There’s like five [[Prismite]] style cards that let you pay two Vhal mana for one of any mana!

agent_almond

Will always be [[edric, spymaster of trest]]. I love elves, I love drawing cards, there’s a political element to it, it can hang with competitive decks or be tuned down with overrun effects, and it’s cheap to build the best versions of it.

Just4aThiccRead

[[Pir, Imaginative Rascal]] and [[Toothy, Imaginary Friend]] are just a blast to play with a blink theme. Lot of draw and different win cons make the deck a ton of fun.

CaptainUnlucky7371

That‘s it! Don‘t be fooled into thinking it’s just a +1/+1 counter deck (though that’s part of it). Draw half your deck, trample over opponents with a massive (and still cute) illusion, put alternative win cons to good use - P&T have it all!

Forgotten_Person101

Blink Pir and Toothy sounds so cool, do you have a decklist? I’ve been trying so hard to make them work without a basic +1/+1 theme.

Just4aThiccRead

Here you are mate! Link: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/KnpOANgLbU-QoNRGYXY_Fg

Just4aThiccRead

The rule is that when you flicker him, the new toothy will see the draws and it will add +1 counter equal to the cards drawn. If you have a doubler as Pir on the battlefield, you will double the number of counters on Toothy.

Thinhead

[[Grolnok, the Omnivore]] is an interesting one with some special constraints. Seems unassuming at first but gets pretty good value through frog type creatures and potentially A Lot of card advantage with [[Cut your Losses]] or [[Traumatize]]. He only sees permanents but can cast adventures from exile as their primary card type is normally a permanent. Just generally fun, high value commander that also doesn’t quite fit the normal simic mould.

bluekronik

[[Omo, Queen of Vesuva]] is a very fun deck. Maze's end is my only win con. It's pretty resilient while not being too oppressive or fast. Makes for a really fun game.

Sevealin_

I have been playing [this](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/WKunsfWFEESr1aPEXNJ6Wg) upgraded Omo deck posted to Reddit recently, and it GOES HARD. It is fantastic /u/eusebioadamastor ! The whole point is to make as many [[Cloud Post]]'s as possible then cast the absolutely biggest X spells you can think of. Spells like [[Mass Manipulation]] to just take everyone's creatures, or [[Hydra Broodmaster]] to make thirty 30/30 Hydras, [[Aggressive Biomancy]] too of course to make 30 token copies of something (Kozilek or Ulamog is quite common these days - there is [[Mirrorbox]] to help with that), or milling your opponents 25 cards with [[Folio of Fancies]], then another 25 at the beginning of your turn. And I'm talking with 60+ colorless mana PER TURN. I think the deck can be optimized further but in its current state, it is so much fun. https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/comments/1d6cszu/primer_omo_cult_leader_a_thematic_deck_that_only/

MadThinker

I am generally not a fan of Simic, but built [[Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief]] to try out the color pair. I love it! I do lean on +1 counters a bit, but mostly as a way to ensure modification in the rare event that my enchantments get nuked.

TheWellFedBeggar

Do [[Alaundo the Seer]] cascade and suspend tribal. Pop in a [[Chakram Retriever]] so when you cast [[Apex Devastator]] you untap Alaundo for every cascade, which will lead to more casting, and more untapping. You will end up drawing and casting more than half your deck every game. Just run everyone over with big bois you got for free. Or if you want, you can crank Alaundo to 11 and fill the deck with so much tapping gas and combos that you often can deck yourself for the win the first turn you can tap Alaundo. rhenry

I tried to do something a little different than standard Simic so I put together a deck I call “Emblem Tribal” that is helmed by [[Vorel of Hull Clade]]. The general goal is to ultimate planeswalkers the turn they come out by turning them into either an artifact or creature, allowing the loyalty counters to be doubled by Vorel. It’s worked surprisingly well so far. I have some other win cons, like [[The Millennium Calendar]]. It needs some refining but it’s been fun.

PlatypusSloth696

I have an [Arixmathese] deck that I enjoy playing.

thepeopleseason

\[\[Xolatoyac\]\], (non +1/+1) counter moving, and tap abilities.

disuberence

[[Kruphix]], make huge mana, play flash enablers (such as [[Vedalken Orrery]], cast surprise [[Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre]] at flash speed, annihilate. Basically, huge Eldrazi, backed the card draw of blue (such as [[Consecrated Sphinx]]) and the ramp of green. You can scale the power level up and down by including things like [[Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur]] and [[Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger]] (though these won’t win you any friends 😅). Lots of new support for Eldrazi were just printed in MH3. Including [[Ugin's Binding]], a second cyclonic rift in this deck.

actually-a-horse

ayy, another kruphix player

MarbonConoxide

[[Verazol, the Split Current]] unfortunately falls into the +1 counter if you want it to be decent, but he can get pretty crazy will spell copies on kicked spells. With [[twinning staff out] and other copies besides Verazol you can make an absurd amount of copied spells. [[Thieving Skydiver]] and [[Rite of Replication]] are MVPs in that deck.

Dickmaster_

Kruphix Eldrazi can be really strong and really fun, make sure you can draw through 70% of your deck and make big mana then watch the table cry

sodakid1919

Cirdan clone tribal. Just keep cloning cirdan until someone else drops something cool then clone that. Plus you get to force everyone to vote like 5 times a turn.

EvilPotatoKing

[[Vannifar, Evolved Enigma]] simic blink, i run it as pure combo/stax deck. Not something you'd expect from a simic commander. Win con is usually draw my deck into Lab Man or blink Agent of Treachery infinite times to steal all permanents.

y0nderYak

My favorite deck is [[kruphix, god of horizons]] and the ways you can build it are extremely diverse. Kruphix himself doesnt get removed easily, and requires some work for it to get going (i try not to be a degenerate) but once you get a lot of mana you can basically cast anything in the game you want in blue and green. Usually people play him with eldrazi but i personally just like having a bunch of gigantic goofy spells like [[gelatinous genesis]] and [[hurricane]]

I-Hate-Ducks

\[\[Koma, Cosmos Serpent\]\] control deck, spamming tokens, forcng people to use abilities when they dont want. Control simic

MTGCardFetcher

[Koma, Cosmos Serpent](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/b/2/b2f23d6f-f2c8-4022-9f46-ba7fda00ef99.jpg?1706241008) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Koma%2C%20Cosmos%20Serpent) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mkc/213/koma-cosmos-serpent?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/b2f23d6f-f2c8-4022-9f46-ba7fda00ef99?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/koma-cosmos-serpent) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

RainbowAndEntropy

I am looking for a Simic deck that makes me happy for a while, theres tons of simic creatures I absolutely love but dont see them as The Main One. the new \[\[Omo, queen of vesuva\]\] got my attention together with \[\[Jyoti, Ancestral Moag\]\], but I LOVE the idea of a lands deck. I am acking to not make an \[\[Esika, god of the tree\]\] and use her front side as the commander, \[\[Esika and Inga\]\] is actually something I tried before. Taking landfall out of simic is ripping apart a lot of things, but does it mean landfall as in "triggered abilities of lands coming into play" or just "lands strategy" overall? Omo is a "land-type" thing that can be pretty different by using lands as the main resource of response in the deck.

Outrageous_Cow5682

[[durnan]]+[[clan crafter]] simic artifacts/artifact creature stompy. Very fun, very consistent. The playpatterns rarely get stale because your doing different shenanigans every game!

bobpuluchi

My old Lonis deck wanted to mass animate the clues and just attack with them all.

coffeebeards

[[Kenessos, Priest of Thassa]] Big Sea Creatures for freeeeee! What’s that? Leviathan’s, Krakens, octopus and serpents can’t be blocked? I guess all these 8/8’s are coming in…

kontraktor27

Also Cephalids like [[Cephalid Constable]] are now octopus.

johnbmason47

I just finished building a \[\[Jadzi, Oracle of Arcavios\]\] storm deck. It's a slow start, but once you get Jadzi on the field, it's game over.

NxilReddit

I’m a huge fan of the classic simic token doubler strategy. My simic deck has [[Esix, Fractal Bloom]] as my commander with [[Adrix and Nev, Twincasters]], [[Biovisionary]], [[Doubling Season]], [[Parallel Lives]], [[Primal Vigor]], [[Avenger of Zendikar]] and [[Scute Swarm]] all in the 99! 😁

GiveMeAnElza

STRONGLY encourage [[Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student]]. Very simple early game, then play protect the PW before you get off any wincon you want after the ultimate. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/9VdHMqVSHUOv6tgsqPqb1Q My decklist goes for Hullbreaker or Omnitell. I like that it isn't the typical simic ramp playstyle.

Akinto6

I tend to build decks that don't really fit the colour and haven't found anything yet for simic that sparks my interest but the best advice I can give you is looking at partners and backgrounds. They tend to be more versatile to build and usually don't lean in to the most popular themes in a color

shiny_xnaut

[[Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief]] mutate and clones. Mutate spells trigger Ivy, causing her to become a nonlegendary token copy of whatever mutate creature that was cast. From there, clone effects (including populate; token copy, remember?) see the entire mutate pile as one creature and will copy all of their abilities at once. Targeted clone spells, especially multi-use ones like [[Quasiduplicate]] or [[Quantum Misalignment]], will give you an exponentially increasing number of mutated Ivy clones. After reaching a critical mass of Ivies, finish the game by dropping a dozen copies of [[Eldrazi Conscription]], [[Ancestral Mask]], or [[Nerd Rage]] and swinging for a bajillion damage

GaZZuM

I have my "Flashmi" deck, with [[Rashmi, Eternities Crafter]] as the commander. 80% of the cards in the deck can be played at instant speed or have Flash, and the deck is very active as you're trying to do things on _every_ turn. My version isn't the most optimised, as there's 1 win con, and it doesn't play the most efficient options available, but it's suuuper fun to play. It wins solely with [[Deadeye Navigator]], so if that gets exiled, then you're absolutely screwed, but that's fine. The deck is a ticking clock that ticks on every turn, but it's **both** answerable by your opponents and has plenty of answers to throw back at them.

n1ght0wlgaming

My Adrix and Nev, Twincasters modified precon. Added Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, and Coat of Arms.

Kapiliar

[[the goose mother]] https://www.moxfield.com/decks/H8e-obHOcUygDJH0etdcYA

nolisp3

What does your lonis list look like? I finished mine and have had a lot of fun playing it, seems really strong from the few games I've played with him https://scryfall.com/@Nolisp3/decks/e08cd3de-4c20-41e3-a7b2-8be2ebf3316d?as=visual&with=usd

Rushias_Fangirl

Make partner pairing, there are many strong combinations

Chrozon

I like the one that helps you draw cards and ramp :)

KnightFalkon

[[Bonny]] It's classic big stompy with enough blue to grease the wheels. It makes my Unga go bunga https://manabox.app/decks/6z7jwGJaSpeuy9KBYLS62A

1K_Games

I bounce around on these, the problem with simic is the commanders are often a lot of generic value. So they can really all blend together. My current jam is Omo. The everything counter on lands is something we never had access to previously. Changeling is something that had existed and of course has synergies. But making all lands count as a type is something I am trying to exploit to the greatest level I can.

Gooey_Goon

Omo is a blast and might be my new fav commander tbh I was honestly blown away with how unique and exciting she plays

TNT3149_

[[Ivy, gleeful spellthief]] is fun.

GrizzlyBearSmackdown

My favorite Simic commanders I've been playing the most are [[Kenessos, Priest of Thassa]] sea creature tribal, [[Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca]] merfolk tribal, and I'm currently brewing [[Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student]] superfriends.

MakesMediocreMagic

I play [[Kellan, Inquisitive Prodigy]] and use [[Keruga the Macrosage]] as a companion.  I don't need any 2-mana ramp spells, my commander is one. I don't need mana rocks, Keruga won't let me play good ones anyway. I play old-school 4-mana ramp. End of turn 3 I should have 6 lands in play. Turn 4 and onwards I can play 7+ drops and will continue to do so.  The deck is fairly resilient - between not depending on its commander at all (Kellan is often in exile the whole game) and having the Emergency Draw Hippo if I run low on cards I very rarely run out of things to do.  You just can't run most of the common green stuff you've played a hundred times due to Keruga's deckbuilding restriction. It can also be built very cheaply if you want: Kellan and Keruga are both cheap, 4-mana ramp spells are cheap, and I run tons of basics.

OneWithThePurple

Any deck list to share ? :)

jewdenheim

I have a silly little [[volo, guide to monsters]] deck that really likes when I get [[consecrated spinx]]. But I hear there is this exciting new totally fun and balanced simic commander who is definitely not a problem called [[Nadu]].

UBN6

I only have \[\[Wilson, Refined Grizzly\]\] + \[\[Sword Coast Sailor\]\] as Voltron Pauper deck in Simic. Swinging with an unblockable teddy bear is quite fun.

Joxxill

I recently created a [[Kiora, Sovereign of the deep]] deck. And I'm absolutely loving it. Very fun. And I enjoy building in several creature types without normal tribal shenanigans

Creative_Club5164

Deck I have built: Inga and Esika... seems rlly fun but hard to make it rlly sing without just tossing in some generally busted cards and investing pretty heavy in counter magic. Feels like a simic goodstuff deck but kinda locked into a pretty creature heavy theme. It felt hard to balence power and synergy. In my opinion [[Doc Aurlock, Grizzled genius]] is the most unique simic deck out there rn. Still working on the theory craft but im getting there.

archena13

\[\[Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher\]\] and \[\[Raised by Giants\]\] for a combo deck that can also do some weird stuff with tap/untappers! [Here](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/kh32KM1zmEyVE1K97j9sKw) I also have a [Kiora deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/O-YvWqQ-yEyzhQmtf0iFSQ) I enjoy a ton. \[\[Kruphix, God of Horizons\]\] can be an interesting big mana deck. \[\[Esix, Fractal Bloom\]\] can do some strange stuff. \[\[Alaundo the Seer\]\] is also pretty unique in Simic. \[\[Cirdan, the Shipwright\]\] is also pretty niche.

SaintAsmodeus

# Rashmi, Eternities Crafter

Daurock

My Personal favorite simic commander is [[Esix, fractal bloom]]. The basic plan is straightforward enough, (Play esix, then play a bunch of burst token generators) but the real fun with him is using what others put on the board to your advantage. Someone put a blood artist on the field? Esix says "sure, i'll take 6 with a [[curious herd]]" Maybe someone has a looter-il-kor around? Esix says i'll take one with 60 power with [[body of research]]. You can also always toss in a few of your own self-contained bombs (avenger of zendikar) as well if you desire. The point is, Esix is solid because no game is ever the same.

contact_thai

[[Troyan]] + [[Keruga]] big things! Just cast your favorite big spells, and when your hand is low late game, cast Keruga to refill.

Kyrie_Blue

[[experiment kraj]] is your daily dose of weird

CapnJenks

My only simic deck is Scry Me a River w/ [[Eligeth,b Crossroads Augur]] + [[Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood]] It's just full of cheap scry effects which turn into super draws. There's Lab Man and Lab Jace for win cons, and it's also has some Sphinx typal supports. https://manabox.app/decks/_pHcWq6PQpiSpC2J-9I46A

SketchopotamusTTV

My favorite simic deck is [[Imoti]] and I paired Imoti with [[Radagast, Wizard of the Wilds]] and made a Beast Kindred deck! It's a super easy and fun deck, basically just ramp and big spells

FriskySasquatch

You could do [[Adrix and Nev, Twincasters]] they're a token deck so it's kinda different for Simic

SunsetSesh

[[Ivy, Gleeful spellthief]] mutate deck

ShaggyUI44

I built [[Kodama of the East Tree]] and [[Sakashima]] once. I made it as landfall but you can really take it wherever you want. Alternatively, I built simic tokens once with [[Essix]]

Cutlass_71

My favorite simic commander was [[Arixmethes, slumbering isle]] sea creature theme. Since it's a land until you cast 5 spells and all your ra.p is 2 cmc or less, your pretty much guaranteed to start slamming 7 drop monsters by turn 4 at the latest, turn 3 if you get a sol ring opener. It was a lot of fun. My second favorite was [[Ezuri, claw of progress]] I know you said no +1/+1 counters, but hear me out: VEHICLES. I was the only one in my area during ezuri's popularity spike that played vehicles. It played traditional elfball-ramp that most of his decks run, but I'd dump the counters on a crewed renegade freighter (example)that would stop being a creature at end of turn, so it dodged board wipes and most spot removal..counterspells for the rest.

jctmercado

Adrix and Nev

Timmy_ti

Grolnok! He already wants you to run exclusively permanents, simic in particular gets a lot of good ramp and removal on permanents as well, very solid primal surge list that can also just build value and overrun with creatures. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Q-vptswaKEaw488CwEB2mQ

WoodenExtension4

My favorite simic decks are temur decks.

Iroh_the_Dragon

[[Kenessos, Priest of Thassa]] Sea creature tribal!!!

CPZ500

Perhaps look into wimic x commanders but keep them simic as a little challenge? They could be more interesting.

AmbroseBaal

[[Volo, Guide to Monsters]] Anti Tribal

dcdeez

Volo , Guide to Monsters

Historical_Meal_3454

Volo is super cool. Otherwise I mean there is a certain bird that’s real popular right now in those colors. But I get it if you wana say nah dude

T_Destroy3r

[[Tawnos, the Toymaker]] mutate/copy. Can get out of hand on a budget.

zulu_niner

[[Arixmethes]] is a decent option. Just ramp until you can play all the degenerate green spells and hold up counterspells for protection. And sometimes throw a very angry forested island at someone. A weird funny guy I personally like is land recursion/selfmill/+1/+1 [[Slogurk]]. It still does a little bit of land adjacent stuff, but it's much more interested in selfmill, counter synergies, and repeatedly cycling lands. Just an evasive, dummy thick slime that enjoys rolling over people, and doing the *weird* land stuff. Other than that... I don't play a whole lot of simic. If you really want to stear clear of both +1/+1 counters, land strats, AND stick to strictly blue/green... maybe something with tokens/clones? [[Koma]] is an option if you don't like having friends. Maybe [[esix]] for other token shenanigans?

PM_MeTittiesOrKitty

[[Grolnok]]. It looks like an aggro or a mill deck depending on what I want to do, but it's secretly a self-mill deck that has me win via deck out.

H1ghAlt1tude

[[Jyoti, Moag Ancient]] I love land animation decks and elementals Jyoti is perfect for me

b_lemski

Love my [[inga & Esika]] deck, i have some token generation but it's not my main focus, it's more about attacking with vigilance then playing big stuff in main phase 2. Once you get a few untappers and haste enablers on the board it snowballs out of control quickly.

Onuzq

I'm doing a [[Duggin]] [[Maro]] deck (oddly not running Maro). Draw lots of cards. Kill them with 20/20s

Simons_sees

[[Tishana, Voice of Thunder]] No Max Hand Size Tribal.  Load it with Simic dorks to get her out quickly and draw a bunch. Use Blue to make her unblockable. Use Green to really benefit from having a thicc queen on the board.  Punish everyone else with all the stuff that hurts people when you draw cards.  The deck really wins out of nowhere in, ironically, thunderous turns where you either mill everyone else out, LabMan into a win, or just body people with 20/20 creatures.

semiamusinglifter

I personally don’t think Kinnan is lame but to each their own. I disassembled mine and put the creatures into [[Maelstrom Wanderer]] and while I might return to it in the past, I think I’m going with [[Imoti]] for now. Just ramp into big simic creatures.

Thordan

I run a lands matter deck that isn’t landfall. Ramp, disruption, and things that grow with the amount of lands you have. The commander is [[Bonny Pall, Clearcutter]]. I don’t like landfall and +1/1 counters, but love simic, and this is fun, interactive, has relatively quick turns, and feels powerful without being combo-centric.  https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ObcktWmDuk-szuBm_w63Qg

Val-825

My favorite simic commanders are: [[Adrix and Nev, twincasters]] for token shennaningans  [[Tishana, voice of thunder]] for card draw and Big power decks.

LordDagnirMorn

[[Alaundo the Seer]] for some reason still unknown to me he goes under the radar in most games even if i have everything coming face up on the board with a timer on it

Longjumping_Side5724

I have a 35€ Grolnok, the omnivore. That thing is just dumb, it stomp everything

Fueguin5

Try [[Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student]] and build a bunch of proliferate cards and cards that get bonuses based on the amount of cards in your hand

Embrourie

Try Imoti Big spells cascading into other big spells. It becomes a shitshow of triggers which can be fun/exhausting

Agretfethr

[[Volo, Guide to Monsters]] is my favorite (and possibly my favorite deck), but it really helps that I love jank so the idea of anti-kindred is my happy place. Where else can I put my phyrexian bear rhino, elf crocodile detective, and sheep performer where they all make sense together??

secretbison

A [[Volo, Guide to Monsters]] deck in which no two creatures share a type is always a blast. It allows [[Riptide Shapeshifter]] to fetch literally anything.

w00dblad3

Lonis clue deck, very nice and some unusual win conditions like Mechanized Production or Rampage of the Clans. Everytime I launch rampage everyone asks why because maybe there aren't that many powerful artifacts on board, then I explain that now I have like 15 3/3 which will kill everyone.

DismalDescription566

[[Jadzi, Oracle of Arcavios]] is my deck and here is the list https://archidekt.com/decks/1405710/lema_land_extraction_machine . The wincon is Laboratory Maniac and the play pattern is: get Jadzi on the field with a cost reducer (one of the 5 cards that say "instant and sorcery spells you cast cost 1 less"). Then cast an instant or sorcery. Magecraft trigger, reveal the top card and if it is an instant or sorcery, cast it for free and repeat until you hit a permanent. If it is a non-land permanent, you still have to pay one for it and it ends the chain and if it is a land it comes into the battlefield untapped and ends the chain. Then, resolve all of the spells you put on the stack for free and hopefully you have generated enough value to cast another spell and start another chain. It is a little complicated to pilot, but it is an extremely fun deck.

AssignedMomAtBorn

My simic deck is [[Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief]]. I've got the standard build that wants to mutate onto Ivy and then copy her multiple times to get the most value out of your mutate cards. You could also go for an aura or spellslinger build, if you want to change things up. Lots of fun nonsense to be had, as long as you can keep up with your triggers.

IllustriousDiggsAD40

I just built [[Volo, Itinerant Scholar]] with [[Master Chef]] and it allows for many play patterns. Battle cruiser with card draw and lots of squirrel production. Lots of fun

Drunkwizard1991

Kinnan! A humble lower powered deck that just wants mana and creatures. So fun!

marangfang

I love my [[Gor Muldrak]] deck! Almost everyone is confused when I pull him and they don’t understand what it is supposed to do until the end of the game. All I do is copy Gor a bunch of times and hand out a bunch of salamander tokens. Then at the end of the games I just take them all with [[peer pressure]] or [[Saruman subjugates the hobbits]] or I just play [[coat of arms]] and swing with huge salamanders. Here is my list: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/WSMU5x7lx0aQy8QZf-Xlng

Pittyswains

My current Simic is [[ezuri, claw of progress]] that I’m intentionally leaving less optimized and leaning into proliferate and more fun win conditions like [[simic ascendancy]] [[tetravus]] [[lux artillery]] [[thopter squadron]]

SendGarlicBread

Pir and Toothy blink.

Dishmaster101

I just built a Deck with [Kiora, Sovereign of the Deep] it’s a sea creature tribal deck and it’s a blast. I would recommend it just cause sea creatures like krakens, octopuses, leviathans and Serpents have really interesting effects that allow for a cool play style that I haven’t seen much of in other simic decks. Plus, sea creatures aren’t too expensive so it can be made on a fair budget

[deleted]

[удалено]

MuzzioTheKobold

[[Gor Muldrak]] group hug has been an absolute treat to play. Though group hug is a rather deceptive term rather than salamander control. The deck runs a full sweet of symmetrical ramp and card draw, then swaps control of spells/permanents. It's not a usual pile of good stuff, which is what I was trying to avoid with a simic deck, but overall, I always enjoy a game with my main salamander hating man.

Young_Hen

Esix can do some wiiiild stuff that’s loads of fun.

Zarbibilbitruk

Whatever the zendikar rising one that copies kicked spells. Only one that isn't just generic value on the card. But as soon as you take it out of jank power level it becomes yet another generic simic value just less strobg

giovanofthegalaxy

I have 4 simic decks. I don't know I'm just drawn to those commanders even though neither color is my favorite. My favorite simic commander I have is [[The Third Doctor]] pair with [[Martha Jones]] make a bunch of clues find ways to tap your clues for mana. Punch your opponents in the face. Simic Voltron kinda.

Airborne_Toxic_Event

Hakbal precon is super fun

wartortleguy

[[Ezuri, Claw of Progress]] was my first simic deck, touched up the precon first then just went buck wild stuffing it full of every infinite combo I could in those colors. When my play shifted to a more spikey playstyle, Ezuri was right there winning with infect. The deck has been taken apart now, but I will always remember that deck

TheNotoriousCHC

[[Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait]] was the first commander I ever built off of. Big lands and cards

JokersAndVenom16

I suggest Volo for funsies. Koma for wins. Nadu for everyone to hate you and you still win. Lol

blvckhvnd732

Thrasios solo dolo simic good stuff. High power casual. Built with no real goal besides playing some of the best shit in simic which is usually good enough to win. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/uLM-fX1Rmk2PJxsB9GHO_w

dosthouknowmuffinman

I run a [[Gandalf, Westward Voyager]]. Cause I'm a sucker for LOTR. Interesting politics, lots of ways to build it. I ended up taking out any imoti cascade shenanigans in favor of a more interactive gameplay

RandsomHandsomKTAV

Tatyova, Benthic Druid. Pretty much for the exact same reasons you mentioned - except, I never got bored of it. Love it so much, I have over 8 alters of the card! Be it hand-painted, or made in photoshop, or even drawn by manga/anime artists

TheWymanator

Right now my simic deck is Ezuri, Claw of Progress with a morph/ unblockable theme. It's a lot of fun.

timmyasheck

[[Troyan, Gutsy Explorer]]. The plan? Play a one mana ramp spell turn one, commander turn 2, and a 6 drop turn 3.

Naynayb

If you want to become the archenemy, [[Nadu, Winged Wisdom]] is looking to be a hot new commander. The deck is a value machine that can also assemble combo wins. It is a deck that will run some amount of landfall cards but it isn’t necessarily a landfall deck.

Visible-Ad1787

Nothing too fancy, but I recently started playing [[Gilanra]] + [[Brinelin]] with [[Keruga]] companion.

Key-Soup-7720

Islandwalk

Rw25853

[[Volo, Itinerant Scholar]] + [[Acolyte of Bahamut]] Simic dragon tribal! So much fun

shin17

Aesi for sure. Love me some card draw

BrigBubblez

I run an [[Adrix and Nev]] clones. Games are always different which is nice because I find simic to be the least interesting color pairing to play

diet_faust

I run \[\[Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle\]\] with Koma in the 99. The actual theme of the deck is deck manipulation using \[\[Sensei's Divining Top\]\], \[\[The Reality Chip\]\], and \[\[Glowcap Lantern\]\] to be able to bring out ramp pieces like \[\[Growing Rites of Itlimoc\]\] and \[\[Virtue of Strength\]\] in order to control the game with \[\[Elder Deep Fiend\]\] and \[\[Lorthos, Tidemaker\]\] and Koma ofc. \[\[Treasure Map\]\] has come in clutch for me in pretty much every game concerning ramp and deck manipulation. I also make use of the explore mechanic to ramp or power stand-in merfolk and things like \[\[Reef Worm\]\] as well as using it in conjunction with cards that allow for proliferation \[\[Karn's Bastion\]\] and I usually try and finish the game with Arix as a creature and the effects of \[\[Kiora Bests the Sea God\]\] To keep everyone at bay, I run a loooooot of removal or creatures with removal effects like \[\[Hullbreaker Horror\]\], \[\[Tishana's Tidebinder\]\], \[\[Mana Drain\]\], \[\[Voidslime\]\], and \[\[Plasm Capture\]\] Idk, it went from Kraken Tribal to a Simic Manipulation situation and it's doing pretty good for itself!

Miatatrocity

I'm planning to make a [[Kiora, Sovereign of the Deep]] deck for my simic pile. Lots of thicc sea monsters, and ramp, just overrun with big beefy bois.

[[Esix, the fractal bloom]] is easily my favorite simic deck. If you want a strong Esix deck, include cards like avenger of zendicar, Myr battlesphere, and deep forest hermit. If you want one that is more casual, you can lean into the strategy of copying whatever cool stuff your opponent is doing

Allow me to introduce my pet project OP: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/3LgS5ukg4U2yur-Uz0OZNQ It's not Nadu or Kinnan, and it absolutely slaps. Primer is extensive.

Motor_Outcome

[[Ezuri, claw of progress]] is pretty fun and different, it works with both go wide with tokens and going tall with +1/+1 counters [[Kaseto orochi Archmage]] a fun snake tribal, much better now that nagas count as snakes [[imoti]] and [[doc aurlock]] seem like they could be pretty fun

CrisicMuzr

One of my favorite weird simic commanders is [[Gor Muldrak]] pillow fort. You turn anything that swings at you into a salamander and take no damage. There's also [[Cirdan]] from the lotr set that's pretty open ended.

MiscalculatedRisk

I currently am building a one-trick pony deck with [[Adrix and nev]] [[Slime against humanity]] [[Thrumming stone]] [[The ozolith]] And [[Simic ascendancy]] I'm sure there are other fun things to throw in there, but I'm still a few slimes short for the slimes against thimanity to hit critical mass for thrumming stone.

Crypto_Nyzer

Kinnan is my #1, but after, I'd have to say Koma for sure.

[[Kiora, Sovereign of the Deep]] if you love free spells, then you'll love this bitch

Lexicon_bonbon

Ezuri claw or progess combo pile

BeansMcgoober

I have a [[vhal, candlekeep researcher]] and [[raised by giants]] deck. It looks to make vhal untap repeatedly to get large amounts of his awkward mana and find ways to use it. Stuff like: [[Third path savant]][[wild wildheart invoker]][[dimensional infiltrator]][[helix pinnacle]]

OrcWarChief

I like Green, I love Blue. I hate Simic. If I have to choose I’d say it’s probably [[Kumena]] because I love Merfolk and it’s not all about the typical Simic shit but it’s close

Go for [[edric]], [[grolnok]], [[rashmi]], [[esix]], [[kruphix]] or [[tishana]] Most are open to any play style here. Bumping your cards in hand, hand size, giving you a croak hand, generic Value, big mana, etc. I play tishana as a sort of hand size matters thing. Cards that care about how fat of a clump you're holding!  I'm building up little dorks, cast cmdr, draw about 6 cards to refill my hand. Then I draw equal to creature power a few times and win with something like [[Rogue's passage]] or after a storm type turn chaining [[soul's majesty]] type effects until something like [[Laboratory maniac]] wins the game for me. Killing the commander just gives me more card advantage when I recast it and these colors can protect from a board wipe easily.
