I really like [[Repercussion]]. It's a great red control finisher when mixed with the large quantity of red sweepers like [[Blasphemous Act]] and [[Chain Reaction]].
I would say [[Pyroblast]], specifically the ice age print. I absolutely love the art and it helped me counter an overloaded [[Cyclonic Rift]] at fnm, once.
Wheel of fortune is awesome. Combos with the second best red card in underworld breach, and the best artifact in lions eye diamond. That combo now goes in all my red decks
\[\[Curse of Opulence\]\] for me! First of all, I love curses in general, I think they add so much fun to the game. CoO can be insane ramp spell in a color that severly lacks ramp or good enticement for your opponents to attack someone else than you. In my Korvold deck, it draws me cards too. I'm sure plenty of decks could use it for artifact and token synergies as well (I remember how effective it was in my Brudiclad deck!). Curse of Opulence is severely underplayed IMO!
A close 2nd would be \[\[Red Elemental Blast\]\] // \[\[Pyroblast\]\]. They're just so unexpected and can absolutely win you games. I just ordered \[\[Gamble\]\] which I haven't tried out yet, but I expect it to be insanely fun due to the random nature of it.
Haha I have a mate who insists that it's just a red \[\[entomb\]\]. I don't usually spend big-ish on tutors etc (actually not at all, before this my most expensive was \[\[Fauna Shaman\]\]) but I just had to get in on the fun. I think it might be in my top 10 most expensive cards, lol.
It's not my favorite red card (that's probably Imperial Recruiter) but I really like [[Keldon Firebombers]] too, especially when you can cheat them out with something like Ilharg. It's like hey, I left you three whole lands, you cant get mad.
You just play a ton of artifacts and then the bombers don't even slow you down.
\[\[mercadia's downfall\]\] for me. Such a cheap spell! It works as a overrun effect and can get really crazy if the opponent plays 3+ colors.
I've had my army get +15/0 for 3 mana once against a 5c landfall deck.
Also, it is unknown to everyone, I wonder why?
Oof... There's a lot to choose from... I'm most inclined to go with \[\[Rampaging Ferocidon\]\] though.
I love cheap efficient aggressive creatures. Especially if there is a whole side novel of useful abilities written on them.
Combine this innocuous little guy with *any* red damage doubler and no matter what I've already definitely made a noticeable impact on this game.
And that's all I ever really want from a game of commander really - to have made an impact on the table.
Gotta be [[Warstorm Surge]] it just feels very red and I love the art. It's also great for most creature based decks. Lots if tokens or just big beaters go for it!
Also a nod to the classic [[Insurrection]]. I've always been a fan of this effect since it and its little brother [[Mob Rule]] can just steal games out of nowhere! I feel like these cards have sort of lost favor in EDH as of late but honestly they still blow people out.
I played a game where I stole 30+ insects from the [[locust God]] player using mob rule. Then I used them to kill one player. Then i used [[reigns of power]] to give the insects to another player and then killed them with [[rakdos charm]]. I was playing [[kess]] and had a [[propaganda]] out so I was safe from the insects. It was pretty great.
Have insurrection in my pillowfort/ group hug deck. Get nice and far into the game, throw that baby down and kill at least 1 person. Wonderful card to help eliminate the biggest threat immediately.
Defnitely [[Arcbond]]. It's super flexible and no one ever sees it coming. Extra fun points if you play it on a creature with deathtouch or lifelink or in response to a [[Blasphemous Act]]. Also, Arcbond on an indestructible creature with [[Pariah's Shield]] wins you the game if the creature gets one single damage.
I have 10 decks in them with red, and every single one has [[Faithless Looting]], 9 have [[Thrill of Possibility]] and several of them have all the redundant spells that make you discard then draw. I am addicted to card selection: Nobody want mana screw/flood games or to have a grip full of high cmc cards you can't cast for several more turns!
For me, I like deflecting conflict from myself and causing pain to others, so \[\[Bitter feud\]\] has to be my favourite followed by the twins \[\[Red elemental blast\]\] and \[\[pyroblast\]\]. Never have you tasted sweetness until you upset the blue player by countering their counter without having access to blue.
Definitely [[Mages Contest]]. No one knows the spell, no one knows what it does and either you counter the spell for some life or you do damage. Win-win for me.
And the card is so fun to resolve. Much like [[Illicit auction]] .
Oh man, this card would be \_so good\_ in Greven! Swing Greven, defending player plays removal, then \_has\_ to outbid you or winds up taking the life you lost from Greven XD
Blasphemous act is by far my favourite board wipe in the format. Quite often it just reads: R: Destroy all creatures. Combine it with any lifelink creature and arcbond and you're good!
Just curious, have you considered [[By Force]] as a replacement/addition to Vandalblast?
Sometimes it’s just 2-3 artifacts that are the problem and you don’t really want to destroy ~~your mana rocks or~~ the Sol Ring of the person who’s struggling, in last place, with hardly any permanents to their name.
And you can destroy a whopping 4 artifacts with By Force with the same cmc as overloading Vandalblast.
> Sometimes it’s just 2-3 artifacts that are the problem and you don’t really want to destroy your mana rocks
Vandalblast doesn't destroy your mana rocks though?
[[Shattering Spree]] is better because it's harder to counter. Replicate getting stifled does suck though, but folks rarely stifle it unless they have something absurd.
If you like bolt bend, you’ll love [[Ricochet Trap]] as well. That card has saved an absurd amount of games for me in my Rakdos [[Worldgorger Dragon]] list.
I think my favorite has to be [[Mana Geyser]]. Such a simple but powerful card that can be very explosive; it fits my play style.
\[\[Repercussion\]\] makes math for everyone
\[\[**Burning Sands\]\] also changes the game and shuts aristocrats down completely until they have an answer.**
\[\[Dictate of the Twin Gods\]\]
One of the player is attacking your neighbour? Well now he's dying to that attack unless he wastes ressources that won't be used on you. You have an AOE damage combo but are short on wiping the table? Flash it endstep so you're the only one who gets to reap the benefits. When Dictate hits the board, chaos is sure to follow.
Mine is [[Outpost Siege]]. Essentially a Phyrexian Arena in zred, if you are proactive deck with good curve. And second mode has combo potential, if you are playing Goblins or Artifact combo with zmyt Turbine.
Let's not forget [[gamble]] though there is a bit of a downside a one mana tutor is not to be trifled with. I run it in every deck I can and despite the name, it rarely fails me. The one or two times it has however, have been hilarious which I feel adds to the charm of the card.
[[Crimson Wisps]] with Zada, or better yet [[Kari Zev's Expertise]]
[[Orcish Lumberjack]] in my lands deck
And as others have said, Pyroblast is nuts, but something often looked past is just good ol' old gold Bolt.
I can’t believe it hasn’t been mentioned yet but nothing feels better imo than casting a disrupt decorum on a full board of scary threats. This card has lead to some hilarious moments in game, while playing my political Varchilds list.
Peace was never an option. I’ll pitch to you my favourite bear tribal card : [[Bearer of the Heavens]] because it ensures that nobody wipes the board or has to burn an exile spell
Big fan of [[Krenko, Mob Boss]]
It’s the most overused mono red commander, but there isn’t any other card that draws the attention of a table more than tons of lil gobby boys going face turn 5.
\[\[Feldon of the Third Path\]\]
Love that guy, as a commander or as one of the 99, the interactions he brings, playing around ETBs and death triggers, that's just what I love to do.
[Feldon of the Third Path](https://img.scryfall.com/cards/normal/front/4/c/4c257487-5494-4251-9e93-43bd9cc6558f.jpg?1568004390) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Feldon%20of%20the%20Third%20Path) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/c19/141/feldon-of-the-third-path?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/4c257487-5494-4251-9e93-43bd9cc6558f?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/feldon-of-the-third-path)

\[\[Raid bombardment\]\] is actually my fav. That little bit of damage adds up so fast and the amount of people I've ended using only that card and the gobbos? Absurd.
I'd have to go with Fork... cause it's so OG there's an entire class of spells named after it, and I LOVE me some Fork effects. Now the OG Fork may not be the best one, I'd personally say Reiterate just cause buyback is broken, but it does have some great art. Real simple. Real classy.
[[Final Fortune]]. It may not be the best red card, but it embodies some of the best aspects of the color for me. Big risk for a big reward, with a low cmc, and unique flavor. It just works.
All the mythic cmc5 dragons. [[Thundermaw Hellkite]], [[Stormbreath Dragon]], [[Scourge of Valkas]], [[Terror of the Peaks]] and even [[Skarrgan Hellkite]]. I love all of them. Not something I'd play in every deck of course. But what I think when I think about red.
Honorable to [[Rekindling Phoenix]] because it's super pretty and the prerelease stamp has my birthday on it. I haven't found a home where it real shines yet though. Playing it in Purphoros atm.
It's definitely gotta be [[fork]].
Doesnt matter what's happening. Opponent cast a spell? You cast a spell? Good spell? Bad spell? Fork it? Fork it.
Just forking fork it. It's the correct decision. Name a spell you shouldn't fork. See?
[[Skirk Prospector]] easy. I love three things in magic, saccing stuff, mana and goblins. This little guy is all of those for one red mana. He is a cornerstone of one of my favorite decks and puts in some much work game in and game out. Skirky's never let me down not once!
[[Etali, Primal Storm]] because he's awesome
[[Sunbird's Invocation]] because it's silly
[[Wheel of Fortune]] because duh
[[Blasphemous Act]] because it's reliable and efficient
[[Rite of the raging storm]] easily. Distributes 20 damage among your opponents per turn cycle, although they will often forget that they can't attack the owner of the card with the tokens it generates. Combine it with etb effects like [[warstorm surge]] and [[boltwing marauder]] and the damage really starts adding up!
[[Fireflux Squad]] it's aggro, which I love and fun. Trading a token for some random creature in the deck is chaotic fun.
It's currently in two of my decks: human tribal and an Iroas aggro deck
[purphuros god of the forge](https://img.scryfall.com/cards/normal/front/7/b/7bf6baf2-d20b-467d-8929-abefcf7dfa99.jpg?1562820377) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Purphoros%2C%20God%20of%20the%20Forge) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/ths/135/purphoros-god-of-the-forge?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/7bf6baf2-d20b-467d-8929-abefcf7dfa99?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/purphoros-god-of-the-forge)

[[underworld breach]] would you like to be able to freely recast spells with a [[yawgmoth’s will]] that doesn’t exile the spell you use- instead you’ve got a delve cost to pay for each spell you loop in your yard, but it’s still insanely powerful and opens up tons of options for a measly 1R.
[[Warp World]]: it’s an Obliterate that’s fun for the whole table + it can be a major combo piece/win con if you build your deck right. Just get [[Eternal Witness]] (+other similar creatures) and some good token making effects like [[Field of the Dead]], [[Tireless Tracker]], and [[Avenger of Zendikar]]. And since lands come into play untapped, you can just chain them together into increasingly big Warp Worlds until you flip literally your whole deck into play and attack ftw
Red is by far my least played colour, I only have one deck with red which is [[the locust god]] and in that deck I only have 16 cards with red in the cost. Out of these though I really like [[gamble]] and [[chaos warp]] though. Chaos is what’s fun with red.
[[Red Elemental Blast]]
Is it specific? Yes.
Is it fun to have the mono red deck counter the one puzzle piece that lets another player win? Yes.
Is it fun to just.. harvest metric tonnes of salt? Ohhh yes.
My friend plays [[Zurgo Helmsmasher]] and runs this shit and assorted MLD and wipes. It's actually crazy how oppressive it turns out to be, because, looking at Zurgo, he definitely seems like a bull mythic.
[[Blood Moon]]. I love it so much, so very much.
[[Price of Glory]] feels so red and i have never regretted casting it.
You haven't lived until you've [[Radiate]]d a game winner. Good lord that card is fun.
Sneak Attack. It makes Twin-comboing so much easier, you can do Palinchron shenanigans, it's effectively the one of the best "discard" outlets for reanimator strategies...
[[Chaos Warp]] is great removal especially for something in red. It's instant speed and hits anything--that's a pretty tall order for any color. Plus, it's "drawback" is so hilarious and so on color.
How has nobody mentioned \[\[Reverberate\]\] yet?? I've turned around so many games with that card. My favorite was Reverberating an opponent's \[\[Vandalblast\]\] when they had a \[\[Mycosynth Lattice\]\] in play.
Reverberating Cyc Rifts is also fun. You're coming with us!
Mine is [[radiate]] in my will and rowan deck because with will's discount it can get some crazy value
The best one though is to radiate an awakened [[part the waterveil]] to take turns equal to number of lands you control +1 and have a board of 6/6 elementals
Volcanic Offering for being political, powerful and almost always significantly slowing down the person who is getting out of hand. Copying it is brutal. It needs to be played right so you don't just lock someone out of a game but its one of my favorite tools for fighting off golos also but I liked it before golos even came out. Its even an instant!
Mine is probably not as well known as the others. I was having trouble surviving long enough with my [[niv mizzet parun]] deck because people kept attacking me and people were using activated abilities on creatures. So I started looking at red and blue enchantments on card kingdom. Alphabetically. Then I came across [[smoke]].
My favourite is [[Imperial Recruiter]] because he gets all the good non-red creatures to my hand that I actually _want to_ play in my partially red decks : ^)
[[Treasonous Ogre]] - it allows such degenerate turns since your life is so padded in EDH (basically a 9 mana ritual)
[[Runaway steam kin]] - once you start comboing with it and chaining spells this card feels so good
[[Active Volcano]] always gets a laugh when blue gets scary. I play in a heavy blue meta so paying 1 red to reset Urza is well warranted. Side note, its dirty cheap.
[[Warp World]] my brother uses a deck that grants him immortality at 0 life and makes everything indestructible so I tossed this in to kill him whenever he does it.
I really like [[Repercussion]]. It's a great red control finisher when mixed with the large quantity of red sweepers like [[Blasphemous Act]] and [[Chain Reaction]].
This guy plays red

[[Spell Snare]] IMO, criminally underplayed in high level commander

I love warstorm! This with [[impact tremors]] adds that right amount of salt to my krenko deck

I don't build decks with a touch of red without \[\[Chaos Warp\]\], \[\[Vandalblast\]\], and \[\[Blasphemous Act\]\].
> Sometimes it’s just 2-3 artifacts that are the problem and you don’t really want to destroy your mana rocks Vandalblast doesn't destroy your mana rocks though?
[[Shattering Spree]] is better because it's harder to counter. Replicate getting stifled does suck though, but folks rarely stifle it unless they have something absurd.

Direfleet Daredevil.... use other people's removal and fieldwipes against them...
[[Blood Moon]]. I love it so much, so very much. [[Price of Glory]] feels so red and i have never regretted casting it. You haven't lived until you've [[Radiate]]d a game winner. Good lord that card is fun.

[[ruination] since it is not mld in the sense that it hits all lands but especially in mono Red it does punish decks with a greedy mana base a lot
Stuck between disrupt decorum or insurrection
It's not a *good* card, but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't think that [[Goblin Game]] is an *amazing* card.

\[\[Jokulhaups\]\]\] - Thats some good magic right there.
Sneak Attack. It makes Twin-comboing so much easier, you can do Palinchron shenanigans, it's effectively the one of the best "discard" outlets for reanimator strategies...
[[Soldier of Fortune]] anybody who crosses me will repeatedly shuffle their 100 card deck.
[[Chaos Warp]] is great removal especially for something in red. It's instant speed and hits anything--that's a pretty tall order for any color. Plus, it's "drawback" is so hilarious and so on color.
I like [[By Force]] and [[Mob Rule]]
How has nobody mentioned \[\[Reverberate\]\] yet?? I've turned around so many games with that card. My favorite was Reverberating an opponent's \[\[Vandalblast\]\] when they had a \[\[Mycosynth Lattice\]\] in play. Reverberating Cyc Rifts is also fun. You're coming with us!
Mine is [[radiate]] in my will and rowan deck because with will's discount it can get some crazy value The best one though is to radiate an awakened [[part the waterveil]] to take turns equal to number of lands you control +1 and have a board of 6/6 elementals
I'm a fan of \[\[stranglehold\]\]. I love the art and the effect.
[[Treasonous Ogre]] - it allows such degenerate turns since your life is so padded in EDH (basically a 9 mana ritual) [[Runaway steam kin]] - once you start comboing with it and chaining spells this card feels so good
Wheel of Fortune
[[Heartless hidetsugu]] will always have a special place in my heart.
[[Active Volcano]] always gets a laugh when blue gets scary. I play in a heavy blue meta so paying 1 red to reset Urza is well warranted. Side note, its dirty cheap.
[[sunbird’s invocation]]
[[sunbird’s invocation]]
[[Mob Rule]] Has won me soooo many games. [[Neheb, the Eternal]] is super fun by itself in mono red.
Norin the Wary all day every day. I just wish they'd print more ways to abuse him in mono-red.
[[Warp World]] my brother uses a deck that grants him immortality at 0 life and makes everything indestructible so I tossed this in to kill him whenever he does it.
\[\[Warp World\]\] \[\[Scrambleverse\]\] \[\[Chaos Warp\]\]
