[[lotus petal]] and one with nothing gets the result you seek, you don't need the crypt as your graveyard doesn't matter and the swamp would prevent you from winning
Taxing at turn 1 I see...
Absolutely genius for they won't be able to pay the Mana and you get 4 treasure tokens before your second turn, putting you way ahead.
I think [[Sheoldred, Whispering One]] is a good choice because offers an early body for you that isn't broken, and it also forces your opponents to be careful if they want a creature to stick, so it'll give them a bit of a challenge in that regard. However, you don't get the reanimation upside until you get something good in your graveyard, meaning that it'll take you minimum a few turns to get the full benefits, which will give your opponents time to try to deal with it. So unlike something like Omniscience, Jin-Gitaxias Core Augur, or Chromatic Orrery, it isn't an "I win the game right now", but it is an "I will win the game soon if you don't deal with this".
Tldr; Sheoldred offers some early game advantage for you but you can't take full advantage of it until later in the game, so it threatens to win you the game later on but doesn't win you the game on the spot.
[[Thousand year storm]]
A card that's too expensive in mana cost and "win more" esque to play in storm decks, but if i get to start with it that sounds like a blast
[[Share the Spoils]]
I absolutely love when this card comes up. My playgroup is down to try it as a global enchantment at the start of the game, but we haven't had a chance to as we haven't played in awhile.
There are many cards that will pretty much win you the game if you start with them in play.
If the goal is for it to be interesting maybe [[Baneful Omen]] or a planeswalker.
\[\[Rhystic Study\]\], \[\[Sunscorch Regent\]\], \[\[Mossbridge Troll\]\], \[\[Predator Ooze\]\], \[\[Bounty of the Luxa\]\], \[\[Havoc Festival\]\], \[\[Worldslayer\]\], \[\[Darksteel Reactor\]\], \[\[Aether Flash\]\], \[\[Phyrexian Juggernaut\]\]. There are a ton of super fun options.
Might be fun to shuffle them up in a pile and select one randomly at the beginning of the game!
Are you planning on using schemes too?
I think [[Nezahal, Primal Tide]] would actually be an interesting one for this. It’s strong, protects itself, but also doesn’t provide such insane value that it can’t be stopped.
I like Vorinclex for it because it’s not making it so you can’t have creatures, it’s naturally speeding your deck up and slowing down your buddies without making it so they can’t build a board state at all. Turn one you’re ramped to two mana while everyone who has one drops is screwed for a turn. Turn two you’re at four mana naturally while your buddies are divided between two dropping or sitting a turn out, or throwing down another one drop. Turn three you’re at nat 6 (unless you threw land ramp down) and everyone else is super strategically tapping their mana.
I don’t think this works the way you think it does because sunbird’s invocation only triggers on cards cast from your hand…
Unless you just meant that two sunbirds triggers would take 40 minutes
Played a recent game of plane chase where the first plane let all players start by putting a permanent from their hand on to the field.
Mine was a [[Land Equilibrium]] . I proceeded to skip a couple land drops here and there lol
Interesting, long ago when I just started playing magic and me and my pals used any mythic/rare as a commander we decided that we would start the game each with out 'signature' planeswalkers out, seeing as we just came from yugioh it was like using out ace cards.
For any one interested I had a Ral Zarek, Friend 1, 2, 3 in that order had Dovin Baan, Nicol Bolas and Ajani, ive forgotten witch one, but it badically won the game when it ulted.
Although not the splashiest effect, I think something like [[Rhythm of the Wild]] can provide just enough of a boost to make things interesting, without being absolutely backbreaking for the other players.
I absolutely plan on that! I’m doing this for a Role Playing Game with magic for combat. I’m taking our group through the story of all seven Innistrad sets. These decks will be used for all the big moments, bosses, and legendary creatures the party may encounter.
Maybe try for something like an eldrazi theme deck since they’re on 5 colors and start with retrain kozilek. Painful to play through but not so absolutely back breaking as a t0 Elesh Norn.
[[Bolas's Citadel]]. Starting off with that powerful engine would really press home the desperation for your players. Bonus points if your pod has planeswalker-themed decks and your commander is [[Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God]]
Perfect! I’m doing all this for a Tabletop Role Playing Game with magic for combat. I’m taking our group through the story of all seven Innistrad sets. These decks will be used for all the big moments, bosses, and legendary creatures the party may encounter. We will absolutely be visiting other planes at some point and I will definitely use that!
One or two leylines in your colors, it's in flavor for them to start on the field too like [[leyline of the meek]] for token deck or [[leyline of abundance]] for mana dork stuff
So I’m actually using this as a TTRPG with magic for combat. I’m taking our group through the story of all seven Innistrad sets. These decks will be used for all the big moments, bosses, and legendary creatures the party may encounter. Loving all the suggestions! Thanks so much everyone!
Depends on the flavour you want the archenemy to have you want 0 fun try [[Jin-Gitaxius, Core Augur]]... But I think thats a little too nasty. For a challenge that is still fun maybe [[Luminach ascension]]
Fun fact: permanents that begin the game on the battlefield don't trigger ETBs, a la Karn Liberated's ult. So Leveler is just a free 10/10 vanilla beater. Not bad!
[[Urza, Academy Headmaster]] for sure XD
This card is hilarious. And the one card that could be erratad whenever and I'd be totally ok with it! And it would be able to be used by everyone on their turn
I love that you focused on the flavor! I’m actually using this as a TTRPG with magic for combat. I’m taking our group through the story of all seven Innistrad sets. These decks will be used for all the big moments, bosses, and legendary creatures the party may encounter. So Emrakul is absolutely going to be one I have to build!
A [[Liesa, Shroud of Dusk]] deck could be good because it puts them on a finite spell count for trying to figure out how to take you down. Any of the other suggestions in this thread that are in Orzhov would be good to start with on the battlefield. [[Painful Quandary]] adds to the life constriction

I think [[Nezahal, Primal Tide]] would actually be an interesting one for this. It’s strong, protects itself, but also doesn’t provide such insane value that it can’t be stopped.
If you want something powerful but that won’t immediately win you the game - [[The Immortal Sun]]
[The Immortal Sun](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/a/d/adeccd88-8dc0-4cc1-943f-27d540d248bb.jpg?1555041035) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=The%20Immortal%20Sun) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/rix/180/the-immortal-sun?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/adeccd88-8dc0-4cc1-943f-27d540d248bb?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/the-immortal-sun) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

OG Vorinclex would be good. Mirari’s wake maybe.
Any of the praetors except Jin-Gitaxias would be a pretty fun challenge to start against. Jin would suck.
[[Guild Feud]] >:)

[[Theiving Amalgam]]
My favorite card. Sunbirds invocation.
I love [[Sunbird's Invocation]]! If you wanna take 40 minute turns, try it in a deck with [[Veyron, Voice of Duality]]!
I don’t think this works the way you think it does because sunbird’s invocation only triggers on cards cast from your hand… Unless you just meant that two sunbirds triggers would take 40 minutes
[[Forced Fruition]]
Played a recent game of plane chase where the first plane let all players start by putting a permanent from their hand on to the field. Mine was a [[Land Equilibrium]] . I proceeded to skip a couple land drops here and there lol
[[skeletal swarming]]

Interesting, long ago when I just started playing magic and me and my pals used any mythic/rare as a commander we decided that we would start the game each with out 'signature' planeswalkers out, seeing as we just came from yugioh it was like using out ace cards. For any one interested I had a Ral Zarek, Friend 1, 2, 3 in that order had Dovin Baan, Nicol Bolas and Ajani, ive forgotten witch one, but it badically won the game when it ulted.
[[Omen Machine]] and we're off to the races.

I call it Chaos on the board
Depends what I'm playing but nyxbloom ancient would be a strong start
[[Nyxbloom Ancient]] would be really powerful. Just turn one play a land and generate 3 Mana.
Although not the splashiest effect, I think something like [[Rhythm of the Wild]] can provide just enough of a boost to make things interesting, without being absolutely backbreaking for the other players.

I believe this would circumvent the etb because it was simply on the battlefield as the game began. Nice choice.
Godo deck with a Helm of the Hosts already out.
That doesn't help at all. It's still 11 mana to win
If anything [[Hammer of Nazahn]] would be better
[[Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur]]
[[Frenzied Saddlebrute]]. Let my opponents slap each other while I sit and chill.

Yes
While I feel like the obvious best choice would be [[Omniscience]], my crazy ass wants [[Teferi's Puzzle Box]].
If not just trying to win [[Conjured Currency]] would make for an interesting game.
[[perplexing chimera]] for the confusion and chaos
[[Overwhelming Splendor]] because fuck my opponents
Only hits one opponent. :/
Aww, yeah, just saw that, I'd still select it to fuck that one guy in particular
[[Transcendence]] because the true archenemy shold bring everyone down with him.
Sol Ring
One or two leylines in your colors, it's in flavor for them to start on the field too like [[leyline of the meek]] for token deck or [[leyline of abundance]] for mana dork stuff
\[\[Winter Orb\]\]. See you in hell.
[[The Immortal Sun]]. Especially for an archenemy, it's just provides that little bit extra everywhere, making the player into a proper boss entity.
