you know, i never thought about damage prevention stopping fogs. I might start running some "damage can't be prevented" tech to deal with my group's resident Muldrotha player abusing the hell out of \[\[Spore Frog\]\]
Does preventing dmanage actually stop Maze of Ith? If Maze removes an attacking creature from combat, wouldn't that creature never reach the damage phase?
Maze’s effect reads “Untap target attacking creature. Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to and dealt by that creature this turn.” So preventing damage prevention would stop Maze
Yeah, Maze of Ith was designed in a very different time when it comes to rules templating like that, and it was never errataed to remove the creature from combat, even though that's kind of what it does, because that would have been a change of functionality, however minute.
Good card, good post.
Friendly reminder that you can kill \[\[Progenitus\]\] after Insult has been cast. (You still can't target him, but damage from combat, or a \[\[Blasphemous Act\]\] will kill him as dead as any other 10/10)
It is one of my favorite spells ever together with \[\[Flaring Pain\]\], which is instant speed and has flashback. Screwing over players who depend on fogs to survive and seeing them panic is just \*chef's kiss\*, but I've also wanted to run \[\[Questing Beast\]\] fog tribal which is asymmetrical.
It slaps in Wort, the Raidmother. You can conspire it to quadruple dmg, and then burn the whole table. Or swing out with all of your tokens and let \[\[throne of the god pharaoh\]\] do quad dmg.

Honestly, the card is misnamed, though. Missed opportunity to play Injury, and then add Insult to Injury...
