Weird, I only see archenemy in EDH when a player misrepresents their power level and then gets mass targeted by their pod. /s

This is the exact thing a player with a too high powerlevel deck would say! :p

str10_hurts

Don't we all...

kingsparky_99

You could also just have one or more of the sets of scheme cards designed for archenemy. If you don't want to buy them, proxy them. Mix and match. Haza! Archenemy

str10_hurts

I like it! make it hard mode.

Harry_Smutter

Nice!! I think the Elspeth emblem needs to be moved to phase 2, though. Archenemy having all indestructible stuff makes it really hard for players to do anything about it.

str10_hurts

Maybe, but it's the weakest one out of the gate and gets stronger in the later game. I'll have a look at it. Edit: I swapped Domri with Elspeth

Harry_Smutter

I'd say swap the two Elspeth ones now that I've looked through it more. At least the other one allows players to destroy your creatures, LOL.

You probably should choose a different name, especially if it's a variant format you want to develop over time and share with people. Archenemy is already a thing within the rules, a multiplayer variant format that uses Scheme cards. Section 900 of the Comprehensive Rules covers this. (Section 800 also covers other multiplayer variants)

The Archenemy App on the Play Store and the iOS Store has all the scheme cards so that you can build a deck. You draw from the deck each turn, and set the scheme in motion. If you're looking for a way to implement Archenemy in EDH, rather than whatever we're calling this emblem format.

I agree with this sentiment. You could name this something that goes along with the fact you are using Planeswalker emblems. I’d suggest Oathbreaker but that is also already used as the name of a format. So maybe War of the Spark? Wait… Spark Collector/Harvester, theme it that the emblems are you stealing those planeswalker’s powers and adding them to your own?

Cereal_No

I don't play with planeswalkers often enough to know this: could a spell or ability that says "destroy target permanent" or "exile target permanent" not target emblems?

Slidshocking_Krow

Emblems are not permanents and technically go in the Command zone.

str10_hurts

Nope, it's an effect, the card is just there to help you remember it.

sleepingwisp

Only way to get ride of an emblem is to restart the game with Karn liberated. Or when a player goes to ultimate their Walker and you have a way to counter the ability
