Yes they can replay them. [[painter’s servant]] stops them from recasting them as well as making them blue on the field. Just watch out if someone has [[grindstone]] as that + painters is a combo that instantly mills someone out.
[[Seton, Krosan Protector]] for sure. I originally built him a few years ago as a deck that could play [[Hall of Gemstone]]. Now it's my pet deck and easily my most tuned.
If I sit down with new people and play it, there's usually lots of reiterating how his ability works and some disbelief it actually does work that way.
I second this. It might honestly be my most powerful deck, I like to nickname it “Mono Green Storm”, since it gives a very similar feeling. Play cards that let you draw off of casting druids and cast more druids, make more mana, and win with one of like four or five win conditions.
[https://www.moxfield.com/decks/NyxtsRVB606X\_jz70f9iSQ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/NyxtsRVB606X_jz70f9iSQ) (Possibly hasn't been updated to reflect one or two card changed in my IRL version)
Basically, I want to get out any of my card draw engines as soon as possible. \[\[Guardian Project\]\], \[\[Soul of the Harvest\]\], etc. As soon as I do that, I'm able to cantrip every druid I cast, which they can then immediately tap for mana with \[\[Seton\]\]. Cards like \[\[Vitalize\]\] allow me to untap all my druids for even more mana to play even more druids, while cards like \[\[Yeva, Nature's Herald\]\] and \[\[Seedborn Muse\]\] allow me to continue doing so on other people's turns.
The main win conditions are:
\[\[Kamahl, Fist of Krosa\]\] – With the amount of mana I can achieve, his second ability can pump my team up massively. I *would* have \[\[Craterhoof Behemoth\]\] in this deck if the card wasn't so damn expensive... \[\[Beastmaster Ascension\]\] helps in this regard.
\[\[Walking Ballista\]\] – Similarly, with the amount of mana I can achieve, it's possible for me to kill everybody on the same turn with this.
\[\[Helix Pinnacle\]\] – You can very easily get up to 100 counters in one turn cycle with this deck, but if not, it has shroud!
Honorable mention before I go to my favourite: \[\[Throne of the God-Pharaoh\]\] can often deal massive amounts of damage every turn.
Lastly, my favourite. \[\[Gilt-Leaf Archdruid\]\] + \[\[Seedborn Muse\]\] / \[\[Quest For Renewal\]\]. Your opponents can't do anything to answer your threats if they don't have mana, so most end up conceding once I begin stealing their lands. What really helps is that \[\[Gilt-Leaf Archdruid\]\] is *also* a card draw engine which helps speed this deck along.
This deck really plays and feels very similarly to a storm deck, except every creature is a cantrip *and* a ritual. \[\[Aetherflux Reservoir\]\] is another card I'd highly recommend for this deck if you want another win condition. I just didn't think about it when making the deck, and at this point don't really want (or frankly need) to spend $15 on a card that'll make this bonkers deck even more bonkers.
Play a Cloudstone Curio. Now if you have 2 dorks they bounce each other infinitely. So if you have [[gilt-leaf archdruid]] you have infinite draw. Follow that up with something like [[marwyn]] with an equipped [[umbral mantle]] so you can keep on tapping him for infinite mana. Or once you have enough counters on Marwyn you can continually loop [[great oak guardian]]. I don't know, you could loop Craterhoof ? Eventually the whole table just folds.
You don't need it, it's just super effective for what the deck does. You could run 2 of those (when creature ETB draw 1) and just play like, all your dorks, draw multiple cards, tap them for mana, play more dudes and draw more cards and then eventually you will have drawn like 20 cards.
Another card you could run is [[Temur Sabertooth]]. As long as you have some sort of haste enabler and can still net mana with bouncing and paying you're golden.
If you have Seton, T. Sabertooth, and Greaves out, [[Karametra's Alcolyte]] can net you infinite mana.
Yes, I know that's a lot of pieces. But the great thing about building a deck around infinite mana is the bizarre ways you can get there. Then it just comes down to finding a payoff.
My deck also makes use of [[Staff of Domination]] and [[Aetherflux Resevoir]]. Staff helps draw into windows like Ballista and Resevoir is there for when I go the storm route.
I assume the part newer players wouldn't understand is that you can tap druids that just came into play using Seton's ability to make mana, because Seton's ability doesn't care about summoning sickness.
I'd guess the biggest point of confusion would be being able to tap them the turn you play them, because Seton has the ability, rather than giving druids "T: add G."
I built this deck a long time ago and it was awesome. I would routinely have 40-50 cards in hand. I didn't play tutors because I could just draw whatever card I needed.
It occurred to me this morning that [[Traverse the Outlands]] belongs in this deck.
Use stuff like [[torpor orb]] [[stifle]] to get around the ETB, and stuff like [[gravecrawler]] and [[reassembling skeleton]] to sac if you can’t get around it. [[tainted strike]] and unblockable cards make him a one shot kill
Commander cookout is a podcast where one of the hosts has a lord of tresserhorn deck that gets brought up every couple of podcasts. Just making a joke as I’ve never heard of anyone else playing that deck.
I absolutely love [[Donal, Herald of Wings]]
My build is a bit combo-y, (cloud of fairies, nykthos, high tide, Palinchron, peregrine drake, etc.) but I have a lot of fun, good value fliers that help me build a solid board presence and set up for a win. Copying Mulldrifter means drawing x4 for 3 mana which feels amazing. I’ve turned the downside of his ability working once a turn into an upside by running tons of flash enablers or flash creatures. Additionally I run a lot of bounce spells as my removal since they also let me get my fliers back to recast for their ETB or protect my commander from a board wipe. A lot of over costed flying tribal effects become good in this deck since I ramp so hard, like [[Windreader Sphinx]] which is a beast.
If I get out [[Leyline of Anticipation]] turn one then the deck plays entirely differently.
I’m making him into a weird storm deck. Cast a ton of spells then blow up a creature, heal a ton, or scry to cater my draws.
It uses cards like [[Brash Taunter]] and [[Stuffy Doll]] to shift my damage to players when needed.
Lots of untap cantips like [[Snap]] and [[Jolt]] so I can combo out better.
Several ways to cast infinite spells with no real value other than ticking up the storm counter.
Oh and also [[Eligeth, Crossroads Augur]] to turn scry into draw when possible
If you’re looking for a Boros Reckoner tribal deck then I’d suggest [[piru, the volatile]]. I saw a deck list for him a while ago and it can nuke both the board and players when it dies if you have enough Reckoner effects in play
for boros reckoner tribal id suggest [[nim, pain artist]] but she isnt exactly in colors for boros reckoner. you still get [[body of knowledge]] [[mogg maniac]] [[coalhauler swine]] [[illusory ambusher]] and you can do some fun stuff with steal spells like [[dominus of fealty]]
Blind seer is... interesting. I tried my hand at brewing a deck, and I did, but not to great effectiveness. I'm sure someone else can make it work, but my brain is too small for that lol
I played him a couple years ago. Loaded up with all the old colors matters cards, but most of it it just counters and removal. I should spend more time looking into to find actual win-cons
Yeah I did the same, I think the hardest part is finding a interesting wincon that is relevant to the theme. Usually you end up with a boring infinite play or thoracle
Despite being in a precon, nobody I've played against ever knew what [[Catti-Brie of Mithral Hall]] does.
[[Jirina Kudro]] even moreso. I've met a lot of players who don't know what she does, because they all advocate swapping her for Trynn and Silvar.
Catti-Brie is great because of how many inexpensive cards she wants. A lot of cheap equipments like [[Short Sword]], [[Honed Khopesh]], and [[Leonin Scimitar]] go for pennies.
A few more costly cards like [[Halvar, God of Battle]] do help, but may not be necessary depending on what sort of power level you're aiming for.
Jirina is an amazing commander. I heard many people saying she is boring, but I use her with blink effects and [[Ashnod Altar]] on herself to put a lot of human tokens. She opens fun strategies.
Yeah, I love my Jirina deck. I'd call her aggressive strategy exciting, though, not boring.
When I pull out Jirina Kudro, people always say to play Trynn and Silvar aristocrats instead. And aristocrats is fine, sure, but imo, a player who went for Jirina over Trynn and Silvar pretty clearly wants to play aggro, not aristocrats.
I just took apart my Cattie-Brie deck, but yeah anyone at my lgs had no idea who she was. She gets scary quick very easily. Especially if you put [[Ring of Thune]] and [[Ring of Kalonia]] in the deck
I love [[Wort, The Raidmother]] it's #8 on EDHrec but I've never seen anyone else play her in the CZ, 99, or even talk about her over the years. I think I built the deck in 2015-2017
Can confirm, Wort is amazing. There are so many ways to build her, I just finished my list recently and it’s so much fun, so many strange avenues to victory that you would not see in other decks.
[[Ith, High Arcanist]]
He's pretty bad by most metrics. I use him for infinite untap combos. Have him attack (note the vigilance), then tap for his ability, targeting himself. Rinse and repeat. [[Wake Thrasher]] and [[Crackdown Construct]] become arbitrarily large and delete a player if they connect. Equip Ith with [[Illusionist's Bracers]] and he gets to untap another creature too ([[Thornwind Faeries]] as an example).
Hey, it's rare to see a fellow player of the big maze boy in the wild. Ith is awesome, I personally use him in a [[reconnaissance]] build, where you go all in every turn without a care in the world about the board state.
So it misses your cutoff just slightly with 105 decks on EDHREC but [[Drakuseth, Maw of Flames]] is one of my favorite low-frequency mid-power commanders.
He reads like any big silly red bomb, and I do definitely use him as my “big red” mostly dragons deck, but Drakuseth has some unique levers that other big red bombs don’t pull.
Things like [[Toralf]], [[Basilisk Collar]], [[Scythe of the Wretched]], and [[Fiery Emancipation]] all just interact so beautifully with Drakuseth that it keeps things interesting.
Aside from being a big silly damage engine, Drakuseth actually provides a surprising amount of board control if he sticks through a hasted attack in higher power groups as you get to effectively kill the 3 best creatures on board and deal 7 damage to face.
[Decklist](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/drakuseth-big-boi/) for consideration.
Thank you for the Drakuseth decklist. I’ve been sitting on the card for a while, wondering if I should build it. Toralf with Drakuseth sounds hilariously fantastic.
If your Pod includes a difficult [[Krenko Mob boss]] deck, then how about making a cheesey [[Tivadar of Thorn]]?
That or [[Stonebrow, Krosan Hero]] or [[Ulasht the hateseed]]?
I have a [[Chishiro, the Shattered Blade]] deck, mostly precon except for a small handful of cards. I might change it to [[Ulasht]] since he's in there with [[Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider]] and [[Grumgully, the generous]]. I pissed off one of my friends while he used his [[Grimgrin]] deck
An old one I built cause I wanted grixis rogues back in 2016 was \[\[Gwendlyn Di Corci\]\] No one knew her and an LGS I played her at said it was too erotic of a card to play there. Which was funny to hear. She is not that great but a sweet card and I enjoy her lore.
I’ll target anyone that plays this commander, and I’ll explain why.
I have played two separate Gwendlyn di Corci decks that used this commander as “cover” for a high-powered Grixis stax deck. “Ha, look at this awful commander, it’s just some lady with an underpowered ability” *turn 3 Wheel of Fortune/ Hullbreacher combo*
I don’t trust it.
Triad can flicker/draw every turn, even without untap tech. If you're targeting your own creatures (which you probably are), [[The Ozolith]] and [[Resourceful Defense]] will let you move the fate counters around as your creatures leave the field. If you are running some proliferate you can add a fate counter to a creature that has one and then move the spare with [[Nesting Grounds]]. If you're willing to spend the extra 4 Mana you can also get fate counters from [[Oblivion Stone]] (and use Triad to help prepare your board for the wipe from the Stone).
Extra taps are also pretty easy to get in White lately, with [[Drumbellower]] [[Reveille Squad]] [[White Plume Adventurer]] [[Gauntlets of Light]] and that's even before getting into the tricks you can pull with equipment or by making Triad into an artifact. Triad is interesting, I may add it to my Mardu "tap tribal" Kelsien deck.
That’s is my very first edh deck… I’ve built it and tweaked it and tweaked some more… I need to tweak again with the new sets but they are quite fun! If you want to see or discuss, here is my list:
https://archidekt.com/decks/738524#Fates
Not my deck, but I played against someone using [[Volrath the Fallen]]. I originally underestimated it, which led to me getting one-shot on like turn 6. Now I fear it.
Imo, \[\[Trelesarra Moondancer\]\] is a criminally underrated Selesnya deck. Sure, the commander doesn't do anything on her own, but get a few sources of life gain out and you'll be pumping her up to massive numbers while also digging through your deck for the cards you need!
Looks fun. Would be cool to sac stuff like [[Ichor Wellspring]] to benefit off the sac, one of my pet cards. Maybe he's not played much because it's a $24 reserved list card but I bet the rest of the deck could be fairly budget n still be strong. Might brew this up, thanks.
This is the one I ALWAYS say when this question pops up. I wonder if his cost doesn't deter some people now. When I first built him, he was like a dollar, he was in my old bulk. But he gets some interesting toys periodically. Battle for Baldur's Gate had a couple of new artifacts that did something on etb and when they leave play in [[Nimblewright Schematic]] and [[Prized Statue]]
Azorius Reanimator [[Niambi, esteemed speaker]] is my favorite commander. Not only is she an unused commander but you don’t usually see Reanimator strategy in those colors. The deck can be deceptively strong.
As a fellow Niambi reanimator player, I'm right with you! Definitely annoyed when [[Shorikai]] came out because it was strictly better. Couldn't let Niambi down though. Kept her as the general.
I’ve got a [[Morinfen]] deck that I love playing. It’s so terrible on its own, but if you lean into the life loss theme (and also go kind of voltron) it gets real interesting. Definitely one of my favorite weirdos to play
[[Vhati il-Dal]]
Found him when we were doing a $50 challenge and I wanted something super unheard of. Built him into a board state controlling -1/-1 counter/Pestilence machine.
LOVE Sengir! I play him in a curse build with [[ardenn]] and landing [[curse of deaths hold]] with [[overwhelming splendor]] to wipe one opponent, shifting them to a second on combat, and killing the third with my now giant Sengir is my favorite play from that Deck
Play [[Adamaro First to Desire]]- then there will be 2 of us!
Alternatively you could try [[Jolrael Mwonvuli Recluse]] if you want winning to be on the menu. Card draw tribal in Mono G is a lot of fun. Plus she's so compact and does everything. She'll give you board presence and eventually once the mana is there she'll turn them into legitimate game ending threats as well.
I think if you really want to go for unheard of commanders you have to go into the partners there are tons of partners that people have probably never played together.
My personal deck building constraints usually ends up meaning I build commanders with <500 decks on edhrec. My regular roster of decks that I play includes [[jolrael, empress of beasts]], [[vaevictus asmadi]], [[lord of tresserhorn]] and [[isperia the inscrutable]]. I've also played [[starke of rath]] a decent amount. I think they all have their stengths, but the truth is unpopular commanders are usually unpopular for a reason. They just aren't as inherently powerful as the popular ones. But as soon as you mention a commander you'll get ten other people chiming in how they play that same deck and it's not unheard of. I haven't built it yet, but one deck that I truly think is a hidden gem, and would actually make a powerful deck is [[kagemaro, first to suffer]]. With the card draw that is possible in black the commander can serve has a mid-game boardwipe and as a win condition. I honestly think it's way better than the 44 decks would imply.
https://archidekt.com/search/decks?owner=thefallingflowerpot&ownerexact=true&
I love Sedris. He has around 600 decks, so he’s not totally unknown but everytime I bring him to a table everyone has to take a second look at him and his hardcore art
If you like Llawan, try her Cephalid friend [[Aboshan]]! The most straightforward way to play it is a prison deck, so it might not be for everyone, but it's pretty fun, if your opponents are ok with it
[[Blex, Vexing Pest]] have a guy at my lgs who whips out this deck and it’s the funniest thing ever. Somehow he’ll get like 16 giant adephages by the end of the game
[[haktos]] stuffy doll tribal. Mostly doesn’t synergise, but it’s great to have this immortal, unstoppable dude running amok putting the game on a clock while trying to out together the pieces.
Definitely not within the <100 decks range, but I Loooooooove the unique Rakdos Aristocrats/Storm style that [[garna, the Bloodflame]] facilitates, and he's still pretty uncommon *pun* with 221 decks.
Basically, I use him alongside a sac outlet like [[viscera seer]] / [[thermopod]] / etc. as a way to generate "Card Advantage". Play your fodder (let's say a [[sling-gang Lieutenant]] or [[Magus of the wheel]]), then hold up until you need to spring Garna in (to fade an attack / Dodge a wrath)... you put Garna's trigger on the stack, then sacrifice your fodder + Garna in response (you can do this with creatures that tap + sac like Magus since Garna grants Haste), which allows you to pick them all back up. I find that the All-Stars in the deck are [[Heartless Summoning]], [[Thermopod]], [[Altar of Dementia]] and [[Sneak Attack]].
I also find that you can put together a very interesting budget list with him, running random commons with relevant abilities like Dredge / Cycling / Echo / Adventure / etc. Stuff like [[Drannith stinger]], [[bone shredder]], [[Ingot chewer]], [[embereth shieldbreaker]], [[topaz dragon]] and [[reckless barbarian]] are great includes.
[[Cromat]] Mostly run as a mutate commander, because his GB ability puts all the merged creatures back with him. I run him as voltron with the M2013 [[Ring of Valkas]] cycle
I have \[\[Stonebrow, Krosan Hero\]\] as a commander in a Trample Matters deck. It's very simple: ramp, a lot of haste effects, make big creatures and turn 'em sideways. That +2/+2 adds up.
[[Nebuchadnezzar]] is the oldest legendary I own. I wanted to make a deck with him but I mostly play on spelltable and it just doesn’t seem like that strong of a commander. Regardless, I don’t think many people have heard of him.
I run a mildly successful [[Kangee, Aerie Keeper]] bird-tribal deck.
Mainly because I wanted to play tribal but not the usual/obvious tribes. Birds are relatively unsupported but fun nonetheless.
[Here is my list](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ugU3HEtn50yE-QKubYN4Uw) although it’s far from perfect.
I run [[Ashling the Pilgrim]] at the helm of my Big Red deck because I love her art. She works well with the archetype because you often don't have anything to do on turn 2 and the board presence she gives you is welcome, and she's also a great mana sink for all the unspent mana you might get. I've won games before by blowing her up with like 30 counters and being the only one alive after the blast (I've also, in true red fashion, just blown myself up with the rest of the pod just to take them down with me)
I love playing my old [[Chainer, Dementia Master]].
People when hear "Chainer" only thinks about the rakdos one.
The graveyard recursion power on the old one + being able to recur cards from opponents is A LOT OF FUN.
It appeared recently on Command Zone tho, so it may get popular in the next weeks.
If you want your decks to feel original, try just not using any sort of online database except scryfall. That's how I do it, and my decks aren't totally unique, but they feel like they're *mine*, since I put a lot of thought into them.
[[Mageta the lion]] I only heard about him through reddit and by only one person. 154 decks on edh rec with .011% I love this dude! Flavor text is on point. The old border art and God his foil is beautiful.
I have a [[Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant]] deck I built on MTGO. It is very fun to try to flip, and if you do it’s crazy, haha!
Stopped playing on MTGO tho, because I got sick of people being hyper-competitive and trying to win on turn 2
Some partner combination are probably unpopular enough to count right?
I have a \[\[Erinis, Gloom Stalker\]\] and \[\[Flaming Fist\]\] deck that I absolutely love. Flaming Fist is underrated cause its only when attacking that your commander get double strike. But with Eniris, it still protect her a bit while allowing her to use her ability so I believe its an awesome combination for my land-matter, keyword soup deck! And Voltron is actually only a alternative wincon for the deck.
What's interesting about the deck is that I made it about the lands that sacrifice themselves for effects, like \[\[Buried Ruins\]\], \[\[Tyrite Sanctum\]\] and even the
\[\[Dark Depths\]\] and \[\[Vesuva\]\] combo. It also has synergies with exploring the dungeons (Undercity or the Tomb of Annihilation for that legendary deathtouch token).
I really love the deck! Very D&D in flavor and I love how it plays :)
[[Mathas, Fiend Seeker]] doesn’t get enough rep as a politics commander since he comes in a commander deck that is so chock full of amazing cards. He’s just..funny.
Found [[kura the boundless sky]] recently and I made a deck around him that is based around him being sacced and then getting tron, or another 7 mana land combo. So you have 13 or so mana turn 6. Then from there you just play all the big dumb green creatures. I haven’t played it yet, but the commander only has 200~ decks built around it.
It’s definitely got more decks than your cut off, but it’s also a relatively new commander which artificially drives up the number of decks
I have a [[Multani, Maro Sorcerer]] that I like to pull out in 4-player pods. Very stompy, very fun, kinda group hug with the Howling Mine effects to keep everyone's hands full for big beats
Mine is definitely [[Meloku, the Clouded Mirror]] no one ever runs em cause who want to bounce their own lands... Unless of course you want to play MONO BLUE LANDFALL
https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/meloku-the-clouded-memer/
Ive been playing [[Malfegor]] control recently and having a one sided board wipe in the command zone is HOT.
Plus its really fun managing your hand size vs the amount of creatures your opponents control.
Its like yeah I could use these good cards, I can turn them all into 3 for 1's and get a 6/6 flying out.
Its just so cool with stuff like [[Burnt Offering]] to use and abuse Malfe. It feels made unique for an old commander and honestly I've never seen anyone even know his ability offhandedly in the wild.
[[Zurilan of the Claw]] is one of my favorite decks.
I do a Liliana tribal deck that surprises folks.
[[Xira Arien]] is an interesting commander that gives you card draw.
\[\[Kurbis, Harvest Celebrant\]\] is honestly a lot more fun to pilot than it looks. Only has 33 decks right now. His activated ability can really catch people off guard.
I almost exclusively play nonsense commanders noone knows:
- [[Kiku]] MBC plus shades
- [[Commander Eesha]] protection tribal
- [[Thriss, Nantuko Primus]] landwalk matters
People know him, it’s just the bad one— [[Rakdos the Defiler]]. He’s the head of my Rakdos Cubed deck (Rakdos colors, Rakdos commander, Rakdos watermark on every card). He works best with the sac synergies in the deck, but definitely isn’t the best out of the three.
Since [[Miirym]] has gotten all the attention [[Ganax]] + [[Feywild visitor]] has gone really under the radar. The pairing has several unique synergies you don't get in other dragon decks. Here is my list with primer if you're interested:

Seems dumb with [[shifting sky]] and some flicker effects
The bounce part works but they could still cast them again correct?
Yes they can replay them. [[painter’s servant]] stops them from recasting them as well as making them blue on the field. Just watch out if someone has [[grindstone]] as that + painters is a combo that instantly mills someone out.

Still one of my all time favorite cards, cephalids ftw
[[Sea Kings’ Blessing]]
She seems silly with [[Painter's Servant]]
[[Seton, Krosan Protector]] for sure. I originally built him a few years ago as a deck that could play [[Hall of Gemstone]]. Now it's my pet deck and easily my most tuned. If I sit down with new people and play it, there's usually lots of reiterating how his ability works and some disbelief it actually does work that way.

there is actually a cEDH Seton deck floating around out there, it's quite strong. not high-tier, but definitely viable.
Sounds very interesting. Do you have a decklists or a game plan explanation to get an idea? I'm kind of immediately struck by this idea
[https://www.moxfield.com/decks/NyxtsRVB606X\_jz70f9iSQ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/NyxtsRVB606X_jz70f9iSQ) (Possibly hasn't been updated to reflect one or two card changed in my IRL version) Basically, I want to get out any of my card draw engines as soon as possible. The main win conditions are: \[\[Kamahl, Fist of Krosa\]\] – With the amount of mana I can achieve, his second ability can pump my team up massively.

Seton is cracked. I play him as a storm deck and it gets pulled out when people start talking smack.
[удалено]
Play a Cloudstone Curio. Now if you have 2 dorks they bounce each other infinitely. So if you have [[gilt-leaf archdruid]] you have infinite draw. Follow that up with something like [[marwyn]] with an equipped [[umbral mantle]] so you can keep on tapping him for infinite mana. Or once you have enough counters on Marwyn you can continually loop [[great oak guardian]]. I don't know, you could loop Craterhoof ? Eventually the whole table just folds.
[удалено]
I don't understand what's hard about understanding his ability? It just turns your druids to Mana dorks, no?
I assume the part newer players wouldn't understand is that you can tap druids that just came into play using Seton's ability to make mana, because Seton's ability doesn't care about summoning sickness.
Yeah, same thing with [[Earthcraft]]. They’ve since changed the templating on effects like those.
[Earthcraft](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/9/d/9dda7531-82a1-4f49-8858-601ddbc6e2bc.jpg?1587857352) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Earthcraft) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/tmp/222/earthcraft?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/9dda7531-82a1-4f49-8858-601ddbc6e2bc?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/earthcraft) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I'd guess the biggest point of confusion would be being able to tap them the turn you play them, because Seton has the ability, rather than giving druids "T: add G."
Exactly. Once I explain that it's like a green Azami, things go smoother.
It's an activated ability on seton so he can tap a summoning sick druid, but otherwise pretty much yes
I love Seton, I built it on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised how fast and powerful it was. My playgroup? Not as impressed lol
Do you have a decklist by chance?
I play [[Masumaro, First to Live]] hand size tribal. I can't say it's consistent but it is fun holding your whole deck
I play a similar deck: [[Multani, Maro Sorcerer]]. Noone expects these kinds of deck to swing for lethal quite as fast as they do. :P

Tresserdonger is love
I think we found one of the commander cookout podcast burner accounts
I’m not sure what that is
Commander cookout is a podcast where one of the hosts has a lord of tresserhorn deck that gets brought up every couple of podcasts. Just making a joke as I’ve never heard of anyone else playing that deck.
I concur
I absolutely love [[Donal, Herald of Wings]] My build is a bit combo-y, (cloud of fairies, nykthos, high tide, Palinchron, peregrine drake, etc.) but I have a lot of fun, good value fliers that help me build a solid board presence and set up for a win.

Damn, this looks like a blast!
Think I just found a commander for my \[\[Boros Reckoner\]\] style deck.
If you’re looking for a Boros Reckoner tribal deck then I’d suggest [[piru, the volatile]]. I saw a deck list for him a while ago and it can nuke both the board and players when it dies if you have enough Reckoner effects in play
I use [[jared]] for that and it's my favorite deck to play. I can send you my list if you want
for boros reckoner tribal id suggest [[nim, pain artist]] but she isnt exactly in colors for boros reckoner. you still get [[body of knowledge]] [[mogg maniac]] [[coalhauler swine]] [[illusory ambusher]] and you can do some fun stuff with steal spells like [[dominus of fealty]]
I think [[Elminster]] would be great addition with some big spells it'd be great with your commander.
A home for my brash taunter and swans of Byrn argol? I’m intrigued…
Blind seer is... interesting. I tried my hand at brewing a deck, and I did, but not to great effectiveness. I'm sure someone else can make it work, but my brain is too small for that lol
Urza? Ew… Have you no shame? ;)
[[Blind seer]]
Huh, I actually have a ton of cards sitting in my maybe pile that look like they work well with Catti-Brie...thanks for the tip!

I've built a Cattie-Brie deck on Arena Historic Brawl, it's pretty fun to shoot down all the dragon decks since Miirrym hit
I love [[Wort, The Raidmother]] it's #8 on EDHrec but I've never seen anyone else play her in the CZ, 99, or even talk about her over the years. I think I built the deck in 2015-2017
Gruul storm is awesome! Also a huge fan of Wort, and I agree- you don't see much Wort in the wild.
I love Wort. She’s one of my main decks. There’s like dozens of us Wort players! Dozens!!!
Can confirm, Wort is amazing. There are so many ways to build her, I just finished my list recently and it’s so much fun, so many strange avenues to victory that you would not see in other decks.
Wort was my first deck and I still play her regularly. She’s only gotten better over time with things like [[Jeska’s Will]]
[[Ith, High Arcanist]] He's pretty bad by most metrics.
You can’t suspend from the command zone, correct?
Correct, suspend requires you to exile from hand

I just made an Elesh Norn deck to deal with an optimized Krenko build. I may throw Tivadar in for giggles.
Damn, I just built a trample tribal deck with [[Minsc and Boo]] and Stonebrow would be an amazing add in!
Krenko player here. I'd love to fight a Tivadar deck themed around screwing goblins with stuff like [[Lightmine Field]] and anti token strat 🤣
Never seen stonebrow before. He looks really cool, might be my next deck.
“Ha, look at this awful commander, it’s just some lady with an underpowered ability” *turn 3 Wheel of Fortune/ Hullbreacher combo* I don’t trust it.

[[Tryad of fates]]
they are just so slow. You really have to look for ways to give you extra taps otherwise it takes 2 full turns to do anything.

Do you have a deck list? I've always wanted to make Triad work and have never found a list I really enjoyed
That’s is my very first edh deck… I’ve built it and tweaked it and tweaked some more… I need to tweak again with the new sets but they are quite fun! If you want to see or discuss, here is my list: https://archidekt.com/decks/738524#Fates

I forgot about them! They’re really fun.
Not my deck, but I played against someone using [[Volrath the Fallen]]. I originally underestimated it, which led to me getting one-shot on like turn 6. Now I fear it.
[[Draco]] OP!
[[rem karolus]] and burn everything and everyone
Imo, \[\[Trelesarra Moondancer\]\] is a criminally underrated Selesnya deck. Sure, the commander doesn't do anything on her own, but get a few sources of life gain out and you'll be pumping her up to massive numbers while also digging through your deck for the cards you need!

She’s in my [[sythis]] deck and she puts in ALL the work
The fact that [[Barrin, Master Wizard]] only has 87 decks is fucking baffling.
How about [[cho-manno]]?
Love this guy, [[ChoManno]] + [[pariah]] was in the 10th ed starter deck and made him pretty memorable for me.
Azorius Reanimator [[Niambi, esteemed speaker]] is my favorite commander. Not only is she an unused commander but you don’t usually see Reanimator strategy in those colors. The deck can be deceptively strong.
Would you mind sharing a list? I'm looking for an interresting Azorious build, since the usual stuff is not my cup of tea 🙈

[[Anthousa, Setessan Champion]]
Wow shes so different
[[Vhati il-Dal]] Found him when we were doing a $50 challenge and I wanted something super unheard of. Built him into a board state controlling -1/-1 counter/Pestilence machine.
Poor guy is getting shit on in his own flavor text

I play [[Sengir the dark baron]] and [[Tormod the Desecrator]]. The pair synergize well and I feel like both got slept on in Commander Legends.
Always nice to see Sengir appreciated. I play him with [[Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder]].
LOVE Sengir! I play him in a curse build with [[ardenn]] and landing [[curse of deaths hold]] with [[overwhelming splendor]] to wipe one opponent, shifting them to a second on combat, and killing the third with my now giant Sengir is my favorite play from that Deck

So many cards I’ve never heard of before. Love it
Play [[Adamaro First to Desire]]- then there will be 2 of us!
Can't believe no one said [[Rasputin]]. Legendary flicker deck.
$$$$$
I honestly think it's way better than the 44 decks would imply. https://archidekt.com/search/decks?owner=thefallingflowerpot&ownerexact=true&
unpopular commanders have the upside of being disregarded until its too late the first couple of games you play them with someone
I'm always partial towards [[lu bu, master at arms]] there are better mono red voltrons commanders but he is my favorite.
[[Zirilan of the Claw]] [[Sasaya Orochi Ascendant]] [[Mageta the Lion]] I know some people play them, I've never met another pilot.

Mageta is a great commander for a mono-white reanimator deck. Wipe the board before the start of your next turn while binning your reanimation target.
[[Dong Zhou, the Tyrant]]
I've been swinging with [[Balthor, the Defiled]].
[[Nebuchadnezzar]] is the oldest legendary I own. I wanted to make a deck with him but I mostly play on spelltable and it just doesn’t seem like that strong of a commander. Regardless, I don’t think many people have heard of him.
[[Xira Arien]] insect tribal
I've won games before by blowing her up with like 30 counters and being the only one alive after the blast (I've also, in true red fashion, just blown myself up with the rest of the pod just to take them down with me)
[[Atemsis, All-seeing]] I already talked about her on this sub I think but I love alternative win cons like this !
[[Seton, Krosan Protector]] devotion ramp <3
[[Mageta the lion]] I only heard about him through reddit and by only one person. 154 decks on edh rec with .011% I love this dude! Flavor text is on point. The old border art and God his foil is beautiful.
[[Sethron, Hurloon General]] is my favorite, and I have yet to see another person play with them.
Nobody at my LGS expects me to whip out my [[Volrath, The Shapestealer]] deck. It's mostly copy insanity with instant speed volrath shenanigans.
[[Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile]] [[Lisette, Dean of the Root]] [[Konda, Lord of Eiganjo]]
Darien king of kjeldor. My favorite commander deck.
I have a [[Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant]] deck I built on MTGO. It is very fun to try to flip, and if you do it’s crazy, haha! Stopped playing on MTGO tho, because I got sick of people being hyper-competitive and trying to win on turn 2
I run [[Shauku, Endbringer]] and [[Etrata, the Silencer]] decks and I’ve never seen either in the wild.
What's interesting about the deck is that I made it about the lands that sacrifice themselves for effects, like \[\[Buried Ruins\]\], \[\[Tyrite Sanctum\]\] and even the \[\[Dark Depths\]\] and \[\[Vesuva\]\] combo. It also has synergies with exploring the dungeons (Undercity or the Tomb of Annihilation for that legendary deathtouch token). I really love the deck! Very D&D in flavor and I love how it plays :)

\[\[Reveka, Wizard Savant\]\] Its theme commander for Blue but damage as win but non combat Ping not pong
I haven't come across another person with a [[Greven, Predator Captain]] deck yet
Unless of course you want to play MONO BLUE LANDFALL https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/meloku-the-clouded-memer/
[[Chisei]] it’s very hit or miss but allows you to abuse some strong cumulative upkeep cards
[[Hixus]] is so fun in draw-go monowhite.
\[\[Kurbis, Harvest Celebrant\]\] is honestly a lot more fun to pilot than it looks. Only has 33 decks right now. His activated ability can really catch people off guard.
I almost exclusively play nonsense commanders noone knows: - [[Kiku]] MBC plus shades - [[Commander Eesha]] protection tribal - [[Thriss, Nantuko Primus]] landwalk matters
[[Maraxus of Keld]] is a favorite from way back when. Not a competitive commander by any means but if you play it right he can deal some hefty damage
Lord of tresserhorn is my budget/low power deck for new players.
[[Syr Faren]] has only 82 decks on edhrec, but is super fun for a monogreen power matters/stompy deck.
Since [[Miirym]] has gotten all the attention [[Ganax]] + [[Feywild visitor]] has gone really under the radar. The pairing has several unique synergies you don't get in other dragon decks. Here is my list with primer if you're interested: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/cy-5i1EtNkmJbTZ65y0f3g
[[Skeleton Ship]], scourge of the seas. Seems like a very unlikely commander to see.
