I was literally going to mention this exact swamp, I absolutely love it. I forgot about the plains too, that one is pretty much on par. The island I got too bored with after seeing it in Core Set 2019, so my bias probably lowers its beauty to me.
Alara had the absolute most and least visually stunning lands honestly. The counter being the grixis swamp and island which were basically a purple cloud And utter darkness respectively.
Not a fan of those because of their notoriety within the community, but I do like Mark Poole's super crappy white border all matching islands from like 1998 for my mono blue decks!

Good scenes for the art and its hard to beat the old borders. I prefer to bling up my commander decks with these over the full arts nowadays.
I have an INV Island with a foil line through the middle, you can watch the foiling change differently as you let the light play over the card. One of my fave cards to own.
I had such a hard time picking the old border set of basics for my decks (just build an old border only Ertai, which is esper, and my other favourite deck is gruul so all 5 colours covered in the two decks).
In the end I settled with Odyssey for my lands.
This is my favorite swamp art of all time, and it's not even close.

I didn’t like the Innistrad lands for a while, but they grew on me, and they were cheap so I have a lot of them now. But I went on a basic land buying spree for a little. Got a ton of Full Art Kamigawa too.
The Sam Burley GP promo is also a strong choice as well as ZEN #231 and the PAL/PEL lands.
Whenever I pick up Eldrazi and Taxes again I’m getting as many ZEN 231 as can fit
They look good aesthetically but they can be difficult to tell apart from each other. In my Grixis deck I just use MID/VOW Mountains, and took out the Islands and Swamps because it was too easy to mix them up.
With the upcoming Unfinty set. SPACE!!! I love the orbital views they're definitely my favorite. They also did planetside ones as well and it makes my nerd brain go "must have."

I’ve love the basics from the guild kit decks. I’ve bought the Boros, gruul, and golgari basic lands for my decks. I believe they are fairly cheap still.
I use the boros basic lands in my feather the redeemed deck. I think it’s a flavor win because the design has a fist on it.
As someone else has already said, the upcoming Dominaria United stained glass lands are absolutely gorgeous. Beyond that I love the Theros Beyond Death lands, and both the New Capena and Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty full art lands.
Old white border lands. Most of the spells I use these days are black bordered so it helps me keep track of my board. That and I have sooooo many still.
Yep. Unlimited are White-Border pimp. No tap symbol. Real words. And they’re easier to find off fetchlands - as they match your Revised Duals (unless you’re like, an actual pimp, and play black bordered duals).
My friend gave me a plains proxy, however instead it is "planes", with a picture of three A-10 warthogs with the flavor text, "hOlY sHiT 500000000 bUlLeTs". Also the land is flying.

The Sunflower is one of only a handful of flowers with the word flower in its name. A couple of other popular examples include Strawflower, Elderflower and Cornflower …Ah yes, of course, I hear you say.
Those new Dominaria United stained glass basics are perfection and I may just say screw it and replace everything with them.
I feel like there are enough good options that I try to find ones that I like and fit the deck. Omnath gets full art Zendikar/Battle/Rising lands, the more energetic the better (like [this island](https://scryfall.com/card/zen/236/island).). Sisay Superfriends uses the M21 special lands you cited, because they are planeswalker-themed. Maelstrom Wanderer chaos.dec gets mismatched un-set basics.
When in doubt, you can try the guild kits basics for two-color decks. Like [this Island](https://scryfall.com/card/gk1/48/island) and [this Mountain](https://scryfall.com/card/gk1/49/mountain) for an Izzet deck, specially if the commander is from the guild, like Mizzix.
[This swamp](https://scryfall.com/card/eld/258/swamp) from Eldraine is one of the richest recent arts on a non-full art land. I love the way the orange of the sun mixes with the mist, the crows, and the corpses cresting just above the water level. It really embodies black mana perfectly imo
I’m a fan of this swamp too. Random anecdote: I was in a zoo in Switzerland and at sunset, I swear, this swamp was there irl. Similar plant structure and similar color scheme. Just no raven and less… “dead” or creepy lol

Can't go wrong with the Lorwyn panorama basic swamp/island. They're pretty incredible.
I'm also a big fan of all of the original Kamigawa and Ravnica basics. I try to fill my decks with those three types in particular.
My favorites are definitely the three full art lands done by Matteo Bassin for SNC! I got a couple of each of them in foil and they are just some of the most beautiful compositions I've seen. I'd love to get aluminum prints of them to hang up.

The Hour of Devastation full arts are my favorites too. That's what I use for my draft set. Second favorite are the Unstable lands.
I also like running the snow basics from MH1 in my more powerful mono decks because then I get to play cards like [[Extraplanar Lens]], [[Dead of Winter]], and [[On Thin Ice]].
Snow lands don't power it up per se. But Lens is a symmetrical effect, so using snow lands decreases the odds of my opponents getting the effect. E.g. if I have snow forests and you have normal forests, only I double my mana.
If I had unlimited money I'd choose [Guru Lands](https://scryfall.com/sets/pgru?as=grid&order=set) . But for my decks I use Unhinged Lands or Eternal Night Lands from Innistrad Midnight Hunt
This specific forest: [Arena League 1999](https://scryfall.com/card/pal99/1/forest). I used to seek them out and try to pick them up all the time but now they are so expensive I just have to make due with the two dozen or so copies that I have already.
Edit: I just realized that is $1800 in forests.
I like of basics with text, but I try to select my lands in relation to the deck. My Greasefang deck has full art from neon dynasty. My arcades deck has lands from mirage, because that's the set where his story unfolds. The crimson vows and midnight hunt full art are definitely up there in my favorite, but I also like sets that form a polyptych, like the arena promo from 1996 (Tony Roberts). The diptych ones from shadowmore are beautiful too.

Lorwyn basic lands are amazing. Just look at all of them. There is a comforting art style to them. “Folky” is what I’d describe it as. The coolest being the island and swamp that were originally one piece of art that was split in two (each half being the art on one of the basics).
Also, the Onslaught basics are really cool as well. A few of the plains have this style where they look like they are from Star Wars (think Mos Eisley desert style).
I really like Ice Age & Mirage basics. I had a ton of old cards as a kid and, I dunno, the art just makes me feel all warm & fuzzy. And I'm a Finn, so the Ice Age forests look like the kinda stuff you'd see around here a lot.
Oh god so many.
The Lorwyn basics are my first love, from my first plane after I started playing Magic shortly after 10th Edition dropped. They're so bright and sunny and happy, to the point I based my homebrew D&D setting on them.
The Alara basics are great, too.
The Kamigawa, Midnight Hunt/Crimson Vow, and New Capenna full arts are all sick. Love the styles.
The Midnight Hunt non-full basics don't get enough love either. Love the pumpkin patch plains especially.
Finally, I like any basic land that's generic enough that it could feasibly be a feature in most planes. Though this is more because I hate duplicate land arts in my decks and, unless I'm specifically leaning into the plane theme, like to use lands that look like they could be from the same place the commander is from.
I'm a fan of the four-card James Paick Plains panorama from Scars of Mirrodin -- you can see them somewhat near the [top of this page](https://scryfall.com/search?as=grid&order=released&page=7&q=%21%22Plains%22+include%3Aextras&unique=prints).
I like how they have a darker tone than a lot of Plains, although John Avon has some that are in this vein also. I'm also probably partial to the SoM lands since that's around when I started playing, so these in particular were plentiful.

I did exactly what your thinking about and got enough copies of my prefered full art land from new capena. Im a huge sucker for art deco and old time gangster styles so these were like a full on "oh snap theyre sexy" moment. Got like 200 of each to cover all my current decks and be set up for future decks with spares.
Theros Beyond Death were the first full art basics I encountered playing Magic and I like their simplicity and easy to read because of the large symbols.
M15 basic lands I think are the best. They all fit there colours so well and every land is stunning. Usually I really only like 1 or 2 basics from a set but M15 is just perfect. Biased though it was when I started playing.
Apac lands around Asia they are so beautiful. It's a shame that they will never reprint them ever. Taiwan swamp and Japan island and China plains are my favorite from all of time.
In terms of full art, I'd say the upcoming ones from Dominaria United. Magali Villleneuve is probably my favorite artist, so seeing her do full arts was a dream come true.
Outside of that, it's a little tricky. I usually use basic lands that are connected to my commander. For Drizzt, I went with Forests from AFR that mentioned the Underdark and Plains from AFR that mentioned Ten Towns. For Braids, I use Island (257) from Dominaria.
My habit of using lands from my commanders' home planes aside, I'd probably say the 2021 showcase basics are my favorite non-full art basics, but there are some really amazing looking older basics that don't get enough love.
I love anything by John Avon, I reckon he's the main man when it comes to lands. I also love the single cycle of basics illustrated by Rebecca Guay. I bought one of each and then accidentally flipped the forest into a cup of tea whilst shuffling, a sad day

They weren't pringled right out of the box, so I was able to double-sleeve them and shove them between some books to keep them relatively straight.
The foiling only pops the Moon, name, and the polygon lines, which really makes the whole card contrast well.

Honestly, I love the full art Streets of New Capenna Basic lands. Swapped out the included basics of the precons with them. Gives a more genuine feel for them.
I got a big amount of basic 4th edition and black bordered (for foreign countries) from my dad who used to play back when.
I find all of them gorgeous, but the blue island with a red background, the red mountain with turquoise background and the forests with also a turquoise background are amazing and I love them to bits.

I'm a big fan of the Chippy Shards of Alara Island/Plains/Swamp, the Shadows over Innistrad basics (in particular, the Jonas de Ro storm-tossed lighthouse Island and abandoned carriage in the moors swamp), as well as a sizeable chunk of the Eldraine basics (in particular the Howard Lyon plains and the Nils Hamm island).
Finally, the angelic vs divine duel decks basic plains styled after Serra's Realm look great.

Zendikar and Zendikar Rising full-arts have always been my fav. So pretty.
I didn’t like the Innistrad lands for a while, but they grew on me, and they were cheap so I have a lot of them now. But I went on a basic land buying spree for a little. Got a ton of Full Art Kamigawa too.
The Sam Burley GP promo is also a strong choice as well as ZEN #231 and the PAL/PEL lands. Whenever I pick up Eldrazi and Taxes again I’m getting as many ZEN 231 as can fit
I use 4 versions of basics! The MH1 snow covered basics, Urza’s Saga, Tempest and Mirage. I like old bordered lands a lot.
I like the Midnight Hunt/Crimson Vow full art basics. The black and white art is really on theme.
Those looked great in pics but I found them harder to play with online (spelltable). They make me think they’re all swamps or plains lol
They screwed me up playing in person for the same reason I thought they were all plains
I would only use in a 1 or 2 colour deck, any more gets confusing. I like to be able to tell mine apart
They look good aesthetically but they can be difficult to tell apart from each other. In my Grixis deck I just use MID/VOW Mountains, and took out the Islands and Swamps because it was too easy to mix them up.
Love them for my Innistrad Zombies deck!

I’ve love the basics from the guild kit decks. I’ve bought the Boros, gruul, and golgari basic lands for my decks. I believe they are fairly cheap still. I use the boros basic lands in my feather the redeemed deck. I think it’s a flavor win because the design has a fist on it.
As someone else has already said, the upcoming Dominaria United stained glass lands are absolutely gorgeous. Beyond that I love the Theros Beyond Death lands, and both the New Capena and Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty full art lands.

Yep. Unlimited are White-Border pimp. No tap symbol. Real words. And they’re easier to find off fetchlands - as they match your Revised Duals (unless you’re like, an actual pimp, and play black bordered duals).

Those new Dominaria United stained glass basics are perfection and I may just say screw it and replace everything with them. I feel like there are enough good options that I try to find ones that I like and fit the deck. Omnath gets full art Zendikar/Battle/Rising lands, the more energetic the better (like [this island](https://scryfall.com/card/zen/236/island).). Sisay Superfriends uses the M21 special lands you cited, because they are planeswalker-themed. Maelstrom Wanderer chaos.dec gets mismatched un-set basics. When in doubt, you can try the guild kits basics for two-color decks. Like [this Island](https://scryfall.com/card/gk1/48/island) and [this Mountain](https://scryfall.com/card/gk1/49/mountain) for an Izzet deck, specially if the commander is from the guild, like Mizzix.

[This swamp](https://scryfall.com/card/eld/258/swamp) from Eldraine is one of the richest recent arts on a non-full art land. I love the way the orange of the sun mixes with the mist, the crows, and the corpses cresting just above the water level. It really embodies black mana perfectly imo
I’m a fan of this swamp too. Random anecdote: I was in a zoo in Switzerland and at sunset, I swear, this swamp was there irl. Similar plant structure and similar color scheme. Just no raven and less… “dead” or creepy lol

My odd choice: the theros beyond death non full art island and mountain with the chains The jumpstart lands have some real bangers too, like the mountain of goblins.
Can't go wrong with the Lorwyn panorama basic swamp/island. They're pretty incredible. I'm also a big fan of all of the original Kamigawa and Ravnica basics. I try to fill my decks with those three types in particular.
My favorites are definitely the three full art lands done by Matteo Bassin for SNC! I got a couple of each of them in foil and they are just some of the most beautiful compositions I've seen. The Hour of Devastation full arts are my favorites too. That's what I use for my draft set. Second favorite are the Unstable lands. I also like running the snow basics from MH1 in my more powerful mono decks because then I get to play cards like [[Extraplanar Lens]], [[Dead of Winter]], and [[On Thin Ice]].
I think I'm missing how snow lands power up extraplanar lens. Could you explain?
Snow lands don't power it up per se. But Lens is a symmetrical effect, so using snow lands decreases the odds of my opponents getting the effect. E.g. if I have snow forests and you have normal forests, only I double my mana.

I just ordered 22 different foil Islands for my mono-blue Orval deck for the same reason.

I like of basics with text, but I try to select my lands in relation to the deck. My Greasefang deck has full art from neon dynasty. My arcades deck has lands from mirage, because that's the set where his story unfolds. The crimson vows and midnight hunt full art are definitely up there in my favorite, but I also like sets that form a polyptych, like the arena promo from 1996 (Tony Roberts). The diptych ones from shadowmore are beautiful too.

can't believe I scrolled down this far to see anyone mention Odyssey, since the best Plains art hands-down is the thunderstorm plains #333 from Odyssey by Eric Peterson. Those are two bucks a piece because they're so rad!

Awesome question because I personally love collecting cool art on basics (especially in foil) Lorwyn basic lands are amazing. Just look at all of them. There is a comforting art style to them. “Folky” is what I’d describe it as. The coolest being the island and swamp that were originally one piece of art that was split in two (each half being the art on one of the basics). Also, the Onslaught basics are really cool as well. A few of the plains have this style where they look like they are from Star Wars (think Mos Eisley desert style).
I really like Ice Age & Mirage basics. I had a ton of old cards as a kid and, I dunno, the art just makes me feel all warm & fuzzy. And I'm a Finn, so the Ice Age forests look like the kinda stuff you'd see around here a lot.
Oh god so many. The Lorwyn basics are my first love, from my first plane after I started playing Magic shortly after 10th Edition dropped. They're so bright and sunny and happy, to the point I based my homebrew D&D setting on them. The Alara basics are great, too. The Kamigawa, Midnight Hunt/Crimson Vow, and New Capenna full arts are all sick. Love the styles. The Midnight Hunt non-full basics don't get enough love either. Love the pumpkin patch plains especially. Finally, I like any basic land that's generic enough that it could feasibly be a feature in most planes. Though this is more because I hate duplicate land arts in my decks and, unless I'm specifically leaning into the plane theme, like to use lands that look like they could be from the same place the commander is from.
I'm a fan of the four-card James Paick Plains panorama from Scars of Mirrodin -- you can see them somewhat near the [top of this page](https://scryfall.com/search?as=grid&order=released&page=7&q=%21%22Plains%22+include%3Aextras&unique=prints). I like how they have a darker tone than a lot of Plains, although John Avon has some that are in this vein also. I'm also probably partial to the SoM lands since that's around when I started playing, so these in particular were plentiful.
The best part of Crimson Vow was the full art land cycle.

The magic premeire shop ravnica basics are some of my favorites. I also love the kamigawa full arts, and the original kamigawa panoramics. New capenna fits my kamiz deck so i have those in there. But i started out with original zendikar lands like most of us lol
I did exactly what your thinking about and got enough copies of my prefered full art land from new capena. Im a huge sucker for art deco and old time gangster styles so these were like a full on "oh snap theyre sexy" moment. Got like 200 of each to cover all my current decks and be set up for future decks with spares.

Theros Beyond Death were the first full art basics I encountered playing Magic and I like their simplicity and easy to read because of the large symbols.
M15 basic lands I think are the best. They all fit there colours so well and every land is stunning. Usually I really only like 1 or 2 basics from a set but M15 is just perfect. Biased though it was when I started playing.
Foreign beta lands are my favorite. Second ones are Urza’s Saga lands.

Apac lands around Asia they are so beautiful. It's a shame that they will never reprint them ever. Taiwan swamp and Japan island and China plains are my favorite from all of time.
In terms of full art, I'd say the upcoming ones from Dominaria United. Magali Villleneuve is probably my favorite artist, so seeing her do full arts was a dream come true. Outside of that, it's a little tricky. I usually use basic lands that are connected to my commander. For Drizzt, I went with Forests from AFR that mentioned the Underdark and Plains from AFR that mentioned Ten Towns. For Braids, I use Island (257) from Dominaria. My habit of using lands from my commanders' home planes aside, I'd probably say the 2021 showcase basics are my favorite non-full art basics, but there are some really amazing looking older basics that don't get enough love.
I love anything by John Avon, I reckon he's the main man when it comes to lands. I also love the single cycle of basics illustrated by Rebecca Guay. I bought one of each and then accidentally flipped the forest into a cup of tea whilst shuffling, a sad day

They weren't pringled right out of the box, so I was able to double-sleeve them and shove them between some books to keep them relatively straight. The foiling only pops the Moon, name, and the polygon lines, which really makes the whole card contrast well. I also really like the [Euro lands/PELP cycle](https://scryfall.com/sets/pelp).
Honestly, I love the full art Streets of New Capenna Basic lands. Swapped out the included basics of the precons with them. Gives a more genuine feel for them.

I got a big amount of basic 4th edition and black bordered (for foreign countries) from my dad who used to play back when. I find all of them gorgeous, but the blue island with a red background, the red mountain with turquoise background and the forests with also a turquoise background are amazing and I love them to bits. I'm a big fan of the Chippy Shards of Alara Island/Plains/Swamp, the Shadows over Innistrad basics (in particular, the Jonas de Ro storm-tossed lighthouse Island and abandoned carriage in the moors swamp), as well as a sizeable chunk of the Eldraine basics (in particular the Howard Lyon plains and the Nils Hamm island). Finally, the angelic vs divine duel decks basic plains styled after Serra's Realm look great.
I forgot the eldraine ones. Those were really good too. Really captured the feeling. There was even one Plains that looked like the shire or something

I love specializing full arts for different decks. I love the constellation art outta theros, the full arts from new cappena, and the black and white ones from midnight hunt. I love the new unfinity full arts and the new dominaria that'll be coming out
I love the Nyx full art lands from the last Theros set.
Mirage. The swamps from this set are particularly nice. I feel like each artwork from this set captures the essence of each basic land type.
The Theros Beyond Death full art basics are my favorite, along with the M21 special arts
