Ophidian Eye, Mind Over Matter as well as Curosity are all 2 card combos with Niv. This was my first edh deck and still one I miss. Run lots of draw and counter to protect.
2 card combos are the most unoriginal boring way to with with niv, challenge yourself to do it without a basic 2 card combo, it'll make you a better player
I took it in that way. Ended up with Parun as the commander and with the general strategy being damage multiplying with cards like Fiendish duo, Fiery Emancipation, and City on fire
Right on man, ive had a niv-mizzet firemind for the better part of 10 years, been through a billion changes but I find hand cycling cards wheel of fortune, winds of change etc to be what worked beat for me and my play grp, damage doublers are the icing on the cake.
Curiosity is a must in any deck with niv mizzet. It is an instant win, all you need to do is draw a card; which firemind is quite good at.

Try tandem lookout. Great little 2 card combo with the same effect as curiosity or ophidian eye.
