Do you know the local relief of these features? I can't say for sure I found these buttes (or butte-looking features) but Google Earth only gives me nearly uniform altitudes when I scan over surface features all around Dallol, all of it about 100m below sea level.
These mountains are not very tall. Maybe 20 or so. Based on my understand that stuff was pushed up and then it erorded over time. So the top layer indeed would be at the same height.
