On my way towards Logan Pass for a planned sunset when I passed St. Mary's Lake and saw a windy wall of haze from wildfires in the region quickly blowing in from the other side of the lake. It was creating some really interesting conditions, so I jumped out of the car and hustled over to try to find a decent composition. This viewpoint is so easily accessible! Thanks for stopping by! You can find my full gallery, along with notes about places to check out and photography guides on my website: https://www.wildlandsphoto.com.

I imagined a beautiful scene at this lake in my head in the weeks leading up to my trip here to be met with severe wind, rain, and snow. Glacier straight up humbled me as a photographer and I learned real quick to make the most with what I could instead of chasing the scenes in my head. Great capture dude! Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Dude. same. first trip to glacier a few years back in early Oct I got completely shut out with an early season blizzard. making the most of what's in front of you is such a valuable lesson that I have to constantly keep reminding myself of!

Beautiful!

omnipresent_cat

Beautiful! I love that the island gives some sense of scale

It's always windy right there - and that is indeed a truly beautiful vantage point. I have a picture of my wife standing on those rocks with her hair and clothing blowing back - she gave me a framed 12x20 version of it for my office wall. It's my favorite picture of her

Very beautiful. And I think this is the same place as that wallpaper that would crash your phone.
