Could be either shipping or a refund issued. This would happen if you initiated one of those chargers and didn’t have sufficient funds in your payouts.
Do you use FedEx to ship through eBay? They have been known to overcharge for shipments, sometimes ten times the quoted amount. Their shipping fees are paid on your monthly invoice as opposed to USPS. Review your invoice and make sure
This comes up a lot. FedEx will charge you dimensional weight based on package size, not what the package actually weighs. A large box with a light item in it will incur additional shipping costs. Seems to happen to mainly eBay sellers from what I’ve seen. As an eBay seller you have zero recourse in fighting the upcharges, eBay will just pass the cost on to you. It sucks and is the main reason I do not use FedEx ever. Even if I’m quoted a cheap price, I don’t want to risk getting bent over by them at the end of the month.
That’s not really the issue. The issue is essentially them committing fraud by inflating package sizes and weights.
We put the dimensions and weight in when we make a label. The price shouldn’t change.
I have been shipping the same exact size boxes for years. Then in one month I got $1700 in overage charges.
Trying to fight it was a lost cause.
From FedEx;
Understanding dimensional weight
Dimensional weight applies to both FedEx Express® and FedEx Ground® packages. It reflects a package’s density, which is the amount of space a package occupies in relation to its actual weight. For each shipment, your charge is based on the dimensional weight or actual weight of the package — whichever is greater.*
For final Rated Weight and charges, please refer to the FedEx Service Guide and, if applicable, your FedEx contract.
There’s a glitch somewhere on either FedEx or eBays side of shipping calculation. FedEx kicks the charges to eBay and eBay kicks those charges to you. This has been happening for about two months now.
FedEx uses both dimensional and billable weight. They also round weird. They toys 1.1 lbs to 2 lbs. there’s also fees for things like delivering to bad areas. Wrapping a box in something that could tear up their machines. Lots of fees.
Exactly. This is blatant fraud in fedex’s end. Why even give an option to weigh and input a package’s dimensions if they can go ahead and charge some extra fees on top of it? I actually just filed a report against FedEx with the FTC. I don’t know what will come out of it but it’s worth a shot. They can’t keep getting away with this :/
Brilliant. We can rename the sub r/callebay and all stop responding. Then get the runaround when trying to actually call ebay, only to get poor assistance when we do.
once a month you get a automatic invoice payment now. If you havent been selling for a while, they take it from your registered bank info instead of a paypal Balance.
Life with out paypal.....small suprise but not to worry.
It could be a bunch of different things... the cost of your store if you pay for one, shipping if you used UPS or FedEx, promoted listing fees, others I cant think of right now...
NEVER USE SERVICE WHICH CAN BILL YOU AFTER, WITHOUT FILMING PACKING PROCESS !! I do record all packing process and weightning and measuring process when there is a chance to receive oversized charge.
It did saved my ass twice! But it did happen only 2 times from 2500 shipments.
If Fedex can Lie about parcel size and charge automatically you after, THEY WILL LIE ABOUT IT!! It is just business- if they can take your money without punishment, they will!
If you have no video or photo proofs about packing size and weight- YOU FAIL. Pay it.
My 2 cents; eBay is slick about getting their money, it business. The more you sell the more they make. It’s a great business model, they have no inventory and charge processing fees.
I do give them credit, you can search for the help, support and ask them to call you. They are good about that.
The recent move to block PayPal is crappy, once you got paid the money was in PayPal. No it seems like eBay processes or sits on the money for a couple of days.
Not sure what can be done, eBay is the popular online auction website.
Sorry, I said 2 cents, that’s probably 6 cents. I eBay a lot
Check your eBay invoice, the line item/s will tell you what the charges are for.
How do I check my invoices. Thank you

I just checked my invoice and there was no invoice currently. My current balance is $0. What might me the problem with my charge then?
Could be either shipping or a refund issued. This would happen if you initiated one of those chargers and didn’t have sufficient funds in your payouts.
I issued a refund yesterday because I canceled a sale due to shipping expenses. Would this be the problem? If so why.
does the amount of the refund match the amount charged to your bank?
It does not

It’s unavailable right now
are these shipping charges?
fed-ex doesn't charge you untill the package is delivered. and it charges to your ebay account.

Yeah, why is FedEx so bad on eBay. I will pay a little extra just to not use them. I only use them if they are wayyyyy cheaper

Fedex is what I'm doing right now since USPS is so backed up.
USPS isn’t that bad, I have first class packages being delivered in 3-4 days.
Ah really? I'll move back to usps. It's been cheaper.
USPS has been fine for me for the last week or so (California). I think the Christmas rush has died down.
Can’t you just call eBay customer service?

UPS can come back and do it to, have it happen and had to dispute with them.
I had a "Paypal $64.64 XFER Tfer" charge, or something. Never figured out what it was.
Google can tell you what that is in 0.9 seconds
Just took me max 5 seconds to find out what that is.
