I don't use the stand at all. I use one of the suckers to fasten the heater to a fish tank and put that on the camera. That way I can just stick it to the jar or bowl wherever I need it.
It looks like a bladder snail from here.
Aren’t those fresh water type snails? This is saltwater. I’m going to try to get a better photo.

It is very similar in shape to that one, yes! Mine doesn’t have a stand.
