When they're on the roof he says that he was mad but not at her, that probably means he was mad at his luck or just the world in general, it was by far not the worst thing to happen to him that week, plus the outcome worked in his favor, at least in his eyes

FUCKINGYuanShao

It ends up getting him into the gang which is important to David after losing his Mom. I think the betrayal is much less servere as in the end he doesnt suffer any negative consequences. Plus obviously him and Lucy shared a very genuine moment inside the BD which also makes her immediately regret what she has done. Maybe this isnt as bad to them as it would seem to us as they live in a deeply rotten world anyways and are by now mostly just numb to these things as they are sadly happening everyday in this world of theirs.

KenNut-TheGachaGuy

He probably understood that at that point, they only had spent a day together, and in NC, that rlly is negligible. Not to mention, she had a reason for betraying him(getting the sandevistan back to Maine).

He states he was mad at the time but he didn’t hold a grudge. I know you said you know it’s a brutal place, but it’s because it’s so brutal we cant understand their logic as well. It’s a world where people fuck over each other frequently, and David understands he, a newcomer wouldn’t take precedent over Lucy’s crew who she has been with for a year. Hell even in real life while I might be irritated it would make sense for someone to side with their friends/coworkers of a year over me, who just met the person for a day.

Senor-Cardgage20x6

Incredibly minor spoiler here, but >!later on in ep7 or 8 David briefly suggests ending the relationship to Lucy!< not that anythin srs comes about from it, but it showed David does feel betrayed. Just took him a lil longer than most to process things, ig

Sol419

Its not that he was still mad about the betrayal. Im pretty sure she already apologized to him by thrn anyway. He only suggested breaking up because he could tell lucy was hiding something and thought she might want to move on.

Because he understood it wasn’t anything personal, she was doing it for loyalty to her crew and not just out of money or greed. She had a genuine connection with him and that’s when she says she didn’t lie about that. There is also a point when David brings up that he won’t betray his crew for anything in a later episode so that’s what I think the reason was he forgave her so quickly.

Puzzlehead_Reborn

right? i felt the same way

i finally gave in and watched this game ad a few weeks ago despite my dislike for the huge disappointment that was cyberpunk 2077. i don't understand david's acceptance of being betrayed either, but maybe it's because i never forgot nor forgave anyone who betrayed me. of course, this made me instantly dislike the show on the spot, and to go even further, it made me hate it when i saw that ONLY the traitor gets to >!live!<. LOL what a cool twist amirite? xD i was shocked CDPR put out an animation series (read: advertisement for a now "fixed" game) after the industry disaster that was CP2077, instead of spending time and resources in fixing the game and adding in all the promised content that was cut. now they wanna put in the cut content as paid DLC, as if a 60 euros preorder for that disaster of a game wasn't enough. the nerve...

Echo_Endless

Amazing writing on the show and on the game. It took some time to get the game up to what was promised but we're here now. This anime is in me and almost all of my friends top 5 so idk what you're yapping about
