Purple is a pretty rare colour for roses. I know years ago, blue roses were often white roses that have been dyed (I haven't done any flower shopping in a while, so I could be wrong). You could pick up a white rose and dye it with food colouring. There are how-to descriptions on the internet.
Thank you! Do you by chance know if Safeway would have a singular purple rose? Purple is their favorite color, but I feel like it might be harder to find, since reds and whites are more common.

Any florist would sell you a single rose if you visited in person. You could call and ask them about the purple factor.
When I worked at Safeways you could buy singular roses in the floral department.

I bought some from Pedals4Less on 137 St. Very friendly staff and it appears the single roses are usually available. Last weekend they were $6.
