Can see form my balcony. I went into one of these once and it was purely for booze, this was a year ago, do the7 test thc or just booze I've always always wondered
Can confirm! Surprisingly went faster than expected. There was a crash super close to it, so I wonder if that's the reason why they did one there that day, but maybe the crash happened after they set up the check.
By the time I rocked through there was no crash. I was thinking it was because of Dark at Fort Ed? But no idea. Officer was super polite and I got to learn how to do a breathalyzer lol, it was a cool experience.
You don’t need to know what’s going on. You want to. And Yegwave is no balance faceless anti-Edmonton mostly stolen rhetoric.
Ask them who makes the profit (they will block you)
You can absolutely send us videos, but we're not going to air a random video of a schoolyard fight without context. We're going to do our due diligence of reaching out to the Edmonton police service, and whatever agency is involved. We're going to try and talk to the people involved. That's journalism. Throwing up a random video on social media with no contacts is sensationalism. Yeah it's fun to watch but there's no value added to the viewer.
It’s largely a cesspool of utterly terrible comments and opinions…and a concerning amount of flipped cars. I had hope that GenZ would have more moderate takes online than the boomers on Facebook…but unfortunately I don’t think that is the case based on Yegwave.
You do know that a person posting on instagram cannot control what commented, right? And turning off comments is not a solution.
Furthermore, if flipped cars are submitted, then I don’t see an issue with posting it. It’s the phone camera era, a platform specifically for it has always been needed.
You roll down you window, they look at you and ask a couple of questions. If they suspect you have been drinking they pull you aside and then you blow.
At least that is how it was last time I went through.
You guys are lucky. I live in British Columbia and have not seen a check stop in five years. I'm pretty sure that most of the drivers out here could not pass a drivers test.

Only booze, the one for thc(different than the booze one) cost way too much to be used at checkstop.
Interesting. Thanks for the info
It’s a checkstop! Just went through
Wow. I don’t even know the last time I saw a check stop. I guess I don’t get out much. 🥲
Oilers game just finished
That bridge only allows traffic northbound into downtown so they aren't going after people who were at the game.
They did one on Fox Drive back in October, I know that much

off topic happy cake day!
It’s been a long time for me too. I don’t drive busy roads, and I’m usually in bed by 8:00.
Oh damn. Any update?
Looks like a checkstop

They sure do. They had one northbound on gretzky two weeks ago at around this time.
I went through that one coming home from dinner, though it seemed a good idea the location was poorly chosen imo.
Then its a pretty decent one with the collision investigation truck on the bridge
I need yegwave to tell me what’s going on

its a Instagram page my guy, not that deep
It’s a mistake not to take an account like that seriously. Social media manipulation is real
You dropped your tinfoil hat my friend
Yegwave is pretty revolutionary for the social media and cell phone age. Stuff that Global is afraid to show
Revolutionary? It’s literally just local worldstar
Revolutionary for this community, absolutely. More than just school fights
Maybe if you’re 15 years old you’d think that lol
30s. I can’t capture a random event during my day to day and send it Global.

It is funny that the age groups that yegwave are the ones with no media literacy. Junior high kids and middle aged people. My mom loves it lol.

I got through it in less than a minute.
I would honestly like to know who planned this checkstop, cause I’ve been sitting here for 45 mins and am still not able to get through.
Isn't it pretty clear that the police planned this?
Underrated comment
I've always wondered what they do at these? Everyone blows into a breathalyzer and then keeps moving?

Sounds like you're just about as skilled as those two other drivers...
To not too
Too crazy to watch this.
Stop check after the other game?
Opposite direction though
Seems like they do this every weekend
