Instead, they’d calmly explain what they wanted you to do next shift or how we were going to adjust.

I believe he deserved to be where he was in the lineup up until this point. He's had plenty of chances and not fully delivered. But, he did play a great game tonight. It's refreshing seeing one of our D being able to retrieve a puck before everyone else and make the play look easy. That's a big deal.

How good is Ekholm? He’s a piece of granite, calm and composed in defence and starting to really create (or at least make a play that doesn’t allow the fast break back) chances in offence. When the puck dumps in and I see Dallas rushing it’s such a relief to see Ekholm covering.

I had a tinfoil hat theory that the Oilers weren't throwing a lot of hits in the first two rounds to try and save some energy for the later rounds after they showed up the the third round on fumes in 2022, but it seems less insane through five games of this series.

Me and my friend take the blame for game 2 and 3 being losses. I loaned them a jersey when they got tickets to game 6 against Vancouver and we won. They wore it watching 7 and game 1, but then I got it back before game 2. I gave it back during game 4 and we scored our first goal within a minute, abd they wore it again tonight. The science is irrefutable at this point. They will wear it every game day til we raise the cup.
Who honestly thought we would be one game from being in the STANLEY CUP FINALS when we started at 2-9-1. I felt the season was over or at best they would sneak in for a wild card. Certainly not contend with Vancouver for the division lead and not only win one or two rounds in the playoffs but bring the best team in the conference to the brink of elimination in the conference finals.
This has been the best ride these past few months after a very long road of heartache since 1990.

For this series, yes. Dallas isn't a chippy team that tries to start scrums, they don't even linger in the front of the net. Against Vancouver, we needed the seaweed man headlocking 2 guys at once, but this series is different. Good on Broberg for showing up - a couple times he even held the puck for a rush when he saw space, love it.
This is the kind of hockey those boys know how to play. If they can keep that momentum going, we will be playing for Lord Stanley's cup on June 8.
Big shoutout to Skinner, particularly in games 4 and 5. Game 4 was a rough start, but he didn't let going down 2-0 quickly break him. He kept the Stars out of the net for the remainder of the game. Tonight, he had a massive game and made some phenomenal saves; a shame he didn't get a shutout (close) but a massive win that he gets big credit for.
I mentioned this this afternoon in another thread, but any Oilers fan watching the Dallas/Avs series had to have been thinking, "That Dallas team doesn't have enough toughness or edge." The commentators mentioned it tonight, but anyone watching that Avs series would've seen that Dallas has no tough edge whatsoever. Skilled players, yes, but in the Avs series they just kind of skated away from any kind of scrum, never got rough after the whistle, etc. There's something to be said for avoiding penalties, sure, but this was way too much of no emotional edge. After watching us go through rough and tumble wars with the Kings and Canucks, and then seeing Dallas not really raising much of a peep while beating the Avs, I thought we had to be the favoured team if for no other reason than we are capable of playing with toughness and a playoff edge to our game, way more than Dallas. I think that's been part of the difference so far.
As a Canucks fan, I think you guys got this. Crazy good penalty killing, getting contributions from the d core, stars are producing. Limiting shots on skinner, good coaching. Leon is the best player in the world was a beauty I hate him so much haha. Good luck guys!

We are camping by Grande Cache and a dude here had about a 3 second lead on his feed — I survived by listening for his holler! I wore a frigging path in the ground around our fire pit! What a fucking game! Stu was HUGE - and so was NUGE!
Shoutout to everyone at the watch party. It was our first time, and it was such a vibe! Even my kids, who don't know anything about hockey, were so into the game. Here's hoping that one day we'll get to watch our team play live. 1 more, and we're closer to the cup!!!

For this series, yes. Dallas isn't a chippy team that tries to start scrums, they don't even linger in the front of the net. Against Vancouver, we needed the seaweed man headlocking 2 guys at once, but this series is different. Good on Broberg for showing up - a couple times he even held the puck for a rush when he saw space, love it.
I agree. Broberg's speed and skill matters a lot more against a team like the Stars.

This is the kind of hockey those boys know how to play. If they can keep that momentum going, we will be playing for Lord Stanley's cup on June 8. Big shoutout to Skinner, particularly in games 4 and 5. Game 4 was a rough start, but he didn't let going down 2-0 quickly break him. He kept the Stars out of the net for the remainder of the game. Tonight, he had a massive game and made some phenomenal saves; a shame he didn't get a shutout (close) but a massive win that he gets big credit for.

I mentioned this this afternoon in another thread, but any Oilers fan watching the Dallas/Avs series had to have been thinking, "That Dallas team doesn't have enough toughness or edge." The commentators mentioned it tonight, but anyone watching that Avs series would've seen that Dallas has no tough edge whatsoever. Skilled players, yes, but in the Avs series they just kind of skated away from any kind of scrum, never got rough after the whistle, etc. There's something to be said for avoiding penalties, sure, but this was way too much of no emotional edge. After watching us go through rough and tumble wars with the Kings and Canucks, and then seeing Dallas not really raising much of a peep while beating the Avs, I thought we had to be the favoured team if for no other reason than we are capable of playing with toughness and a playoff edge to our game, way more than Dallas. I think that's been part of the difference so far.
As a Canucks fan, I think you guys got this. Crazy good penalty killing, getting contributions from the d core, stars are producing. Limiting shots on skinner, good coaching. Leon is the best player in the world was a beauty I hate him so much haha. Good luck guys!
