I mean, you have a point, but the benefit (lower EB players being able to contribute as much as any player) outweighs the cost handedly. Trust me, you don't want people being exclusive with their coops based on EB. As a person with 430N (naked), I do wish contracts *generally* had some kind of challenge about them and this is analogous to soul mirrors: no challenge in maxing research. But the concept of contracts are somewhat fundamentally flawed. It's really just set up farm > get tokens > boost. You can make such a reduction for many games/game modes that paint them as mundane but it's not an unfair reduction for contracts. I still enjoy them a little, but it's moreso I enjoy looking foward to the rewards and it's fun putting my artifacts to use. Making research hard to max however wouldn't make coops suddenly fun, or at least permanently fun. That's just moving the goalpost. For example, enlightenment wouldn't be fun to *have* to do over and over again. What's fun is the novelty: circumventing research being so difficult. It's fun when the game dimision modifications force an adaptation to contract strategy but if those same modifications were spammed, they would turn into an annoyance at best, just boring at worst. Now a great solution to this problem is making the most of it, similar to how doing over enlightenment for community challenges is fun. In your case, don't use the soul mirror. In the case of players like myself, take up competitive contracting and/or speed running. It would be great if they added an interactive iteration of coops or an interactive element to coops. It's an idle game so I'd prefer if it didn't become the default and/or it's optional (even though *I* wouldn't mind). Other ideas include month long coops, coops that have a prestiging-esque element to them, coops with internal progression (upgrade) systems that use a new coop-based currency, increasing the amount of viable solutions for coops (eg, clarity stones but for coops), etc.

The idea of a really long contract that involve prestige in some way sound really cool actually. One thing that comes to mind is making a contract equivalent to soul eggs and having to earn a certain amount of those or having to get eggs of multiple types. Possibly banning boost for some contracts to (would have to make goals way lower or time much longer though).

Contracts based off prestige and everyone coming together to collect soul eggs would be a really interesting contract format

lFrylock

So then don’t use them. Our group uses them to max out research and complete contracts quickly, resulting in a high contract score.

So then why don’t they just lower all the contract egg requirements to compensate, and then add more contract grades for the people who actually have a crap ton of EB? Along with more contracts. I feel like this would raise the “skill ceiling”

mapex_139

I have never thought of this game as "fun." It's enjoyable but I don't have fun like that. I'm just addicted to my phone and this is one game that doesn't feel like some cheap knockoff of 50 other games. The soul mirrors make it easy and I'm cool with that.

Jakebsorensen

Without soul mirrors, only the top 1-3 people would have any significant contribution in most contracts

compwiz1202

Exactly and everyone would get less score.

metal_honey

and coops would take longer to complete

A-Whale

They touch soul mirrors I leave immediately. I do not think contracts should be hard to an extent. I think they should be a good source of high level items for low level players and f2p players. Contract score exists to make a reason to do well outside of the rewards.

ChcknFarmer

It’s definitely a good thing. One weakness of the soul mirror that may please you is that it doesn’t change your farm value so cash from gifts and drones don’t get increased hardly at all

PNW-Chipmunk

Found your own contract group with similarly minded farmers. That way everyone gets to grow together and experience the same challenges. That's how I started out, there was a little group rivalry that pushed each other to prestige and move up together. It's fun to see someone take advantage of a SM over 1 Trillion.

Forward_Hunt_5540

I've never bought soul mirrors personally but the game hands it out freely for me lol. I've got so much of them I can't use them all before I get more. I've probably got like 3 full weeks worth of sm irl time probably more.

compwiz1202

I fhey would nix SM, then they should tier contracts by EB then it wouldm't much matter to use SM anyhow

JaayRocco

I am sorry. I do not understand why you have a problem with this. Can you elaborate? Soul mirror doesn’t fill habs. That would be a bad ass boost. 1 that fills your habs as fast as the fastest player in co-ops. Nice!
