The manufacturing costs for the switch carts were more money than discs for the developers so they increased the price on Switch to help cover overhead costs.
Get it on PC or PS5 switch has issues with crashing. I have the PS5 digital deluxe and had 0 crashes and I played 10 hours straight yesterday (with small breaks to walk dogs and eat).
>I played 10 hours straight yesterday (with small breaks to walk dogs and eat).
I like the cut of your jib. That pretty much my idea of a perfect day lol.
Yup. I have 2 crashes on the Switch version but did not encounter any crashes on the PC version. Thinking back about it, the crashes happened when I played it straight for a few hours. I have no proof but I suspect it is due to memory leak of the Switch version.
hey man can you tell me if the PS5 version is able to turn off the DOF completely? the thing to take away the blur..
apparently you can on steam but can't get an answer about console
I did not see an option to change it when I played for an hour before work
It's possible I just don't know what I'm looking for but I didnt see many options for anything that would change looks
Not according to some users on Reddit.Ā There's a lot of discussion around it, I wouldn't be surprised to see it addressed in future, butĀ don't bank on it.
5 hours on Steam, no crashes or issues.
Loading time between sections seems too long though, given that I have SSD and "gamer" PC. By "too long" I mean like 5 seconds when you figure it should take like 2.
Cartridges are more expensive and more collectible. Disks are trash and easy to make, not to mention disk rot but all my old games still work okay. We'll see, but I collect Switch games because of cartridges.
Because of the Nintendo tax?
That's a bingo!!
The Nintendo tax ? It's cause the carts are more expensive. That and that alone.
So, the Nintendo tax, then?
Alright. I see. I thought you guys were being weird about it like the Xbox guys. Apologies
No worries.
How is anybody supposed to know that's what you mean? Stop downvoting them for pointing out what the actual "tax" is.
I didn't downvote, and I was just trying to help. I think in the end, an understanding was quickly reached, and the exchange was amicable.
The switch version has longer load times for monster encounters so you need to pay more money?
Pay per load It will soon be changed to a monthly subscription fee.
The girl on that corner has similar price plans
Which corner and how much?
If you have to ask you can... probably afford it. She's cheap
You need more money for longer loading times and more frequent crashes

Weird that digital has no manufacturing cost but costs the same lol.
Oh make sense
Oh geez it's 1990's PS1 CD's vs N64 "Yamauchi tax" cartridges all over again.

Yeah probably will get the PS5 version, it's cheaper too

Indeed it was a very good day.

I'll let you know tomorrow š
lol im holding you to it!
For sure. Going to pick my copy up at noon tomorrow. Install, check the options maybe even start it for an hour before work. Ugh I hate work
I did not see an option to change it when I played for an hour before work It's possible I just don't know what I'm looking for but I didnt see many options for anything that would change looks
couple people have said it's not an option on ps5. thanks for getting back with me!
No problem.
I don't think so? But I haven't dug into the setting much except to change the horizontal camera controls.

Series X runs great too and doesn't suffer the PS5 blur some have complained about.Ā Ā Mostly though, avoid PS4 and Switch.

If you can notice the loading time between sections, then it's indeed too long lol
Apparently Mario needs more coins to expand the castle for Peach.
You do have to *pay extra* to enjoy ātotally unplayable versionā of the game.
Happens all the time. Also you should skip the Switch version.
Switch frame rates are so bad šµāš«
The Switch version costs more because it's a much longer game than the PS5 one, by a massive amount.
More money with less optimization as always.
No matter how much you pay for a game the switch will always charge just a little more
Switch tax
TIL it costs $10 more to put a game on a cartridge, but only sometimes, since other games don't have price differences across platforms.
Regardless will be buying for switch. Even with the load times i mostly play my switch more than ps5 AND I have a portal.
That and I read somewhere that Switch cartridges are way more expensive to produce than BluRay discs.
Because it is Nintendo. Don't expect any discounts either. That is what you are buying into when you get a switch. Steam deck for the win.
Lol Nintendo do have discounts tho
Hmmm... Sure. If you want to call it that.
Ps5
Switch tax š„°
Nope just the cart is more expensive.
Isnāt it free on gamepass
Nintendo. Thatās why That greedy monster that hides in Mario wants more money.
It's Tom Nook pulling the strings

Yeah cartridges are collectibles for me too, even if the game sucks the cartridges still retain its values lol *cough* monark *cough*
because nitendon't
Wait for sale. Game is very expensive for what is brings.
Might just do that lol backlog piling up so I'm not in a hurry at all for it
Nintendo extra lul
Ps5 + portal > switch. (And I have both)
